So good!😊 I have already put things on my wish list. Just head to my Shop Online Now Button on the side bar to check it out. But tonight, the next exciting thing is that our Colour Creations Showcase is back! Woo Hoo! 🙌So weekly the Art With Heart team will be bringing you 1 colour from all the amazing colours that Stampin' Up! have to offer and there are 40 gorgeous classic colours and 10 contemporary In Colors plus Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla, so get ready for some weekly fun and adventure. Each week the lovely Cathy Proctor will be hosting our Showcase and I will have a link at the end of my post so you can hop on over find the list of the team playing along this week and see all of their fantastic creations. This week is Balmy Blue Oh I do love this gorgeous pale, subtle blue, it is just exquisite! For this card I have used the new Tasteful Touches stamp set and the new Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder. You can find them on page 122-124 of the new Annual Catalogue as part of the In Good Taste Suite. You are going to love this suite and the gorgeous colours in the Designer series paper and the real to life photo of tile and wood textures. Go check it out! You can see one in the background of this photo! OK, I am getting too excited back to the card at hand tonight. I have a card base of Thick Whisper white and the Balmy Blue card stock was run through with the gorgeous new Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I made it just larger than the sentiment card and offset it so I could tie the braided linen thread around the card and adhere that to the base of the card. I stamped the flower in Memento black ink and fussy cut it with my paper snips and coloured it with my blender pen using the Balmy Blue ink and highlighted the darker parts with Night of Navy Ink. The centre of the flower is crushed curry. I cut the Sentiment layer out using the Stitched rectangle dies and then with Sahara sand ink I stamped the flower 3 times in the bottom corner in a triangle so to give some depth behind the Balmy Blue and to make it pop off the page. I then masked those flowers and used both mossy meadow and pear pizzazz ink for the leaves before popping the Balmy Blue flower on a dimensional over the top. The Sentiment is stamped in Balmy blue and I popped the layer up on dimensionals to adhere to the card base. I really loved how this card turned out and the layout so I may have to make a few more in different colours. Ok here is my colour combination and the product list can be found at the end of the post. My colour combination for this card is: Each week as I mentioned my lovely friend and the extremely creative Cathy Proctor will be hosting our Colour Creation Showcase so please hop on over to her blog for the list of those who are participating this week to find some more inspiration for the colour of Balmy Blue! Hello and welcome to Week 1 with the Art With Heart Colour Creations weekly showcase which the lovely Catherine Proctor will be running a weekly blog and other members from the Art With Heart Team. This week we start off with Balmy Blue and I hope we will inspire you with our variations of this beautiful colour. Balmy Blue is from the Subtles Collection, it’s available in Ink, Cardstock, DSP, Blends and more. I’ve created a card using some of these products, I’ve match Balmy Blue with Night of Navy and Highland Heather. I started off with the card base using Balmy Blue Cardstock, stamped the splatted stamp in Balmy Blue Ink on the Cardstock. The stamp is from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set and is caring over into the new Stampin’ Up! 2020 – 2021 Annual Catalogue. I’m so happy to see this beautiful Stamp Set and coordinating Dies in the Annual Catalogue. I’ve stamped both of the Poppy Stamps in Night of Navy Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and coloured them in with the Stampin’ Blends using the light & dark Balmy Blue, light Night of Navy and light Highland Heather. The leaves are in Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. To create the striped DSP, I’ve used a panel of Whisper White Cardstock by mixing Balmy Blue Ink and Frost White Shimmer Paint onto an acrylic block, this gives the ink a pearl shine to it. Refer to the photo below. Using the Paper Trimmer as a guidance, place the Cardstock under the ruler and use an Aqua Painter (which is now retired, but we have a new product called Water Painters) to create the stripes onto the Cardstock. See the photo below. The sentiment is from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. Please visit Catherine’s blog to see her creation and the links to all of the other participants who have taken part in this week’s showcase. Thank you for visiting my blog today, I hope you’ve enjoyed how I’ve used Balmy Blue. Make sure you come back next week to see Basic Grey in our projects. An Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator
Hello and welcome Tonight I'll be sharing with you Week 2 of Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team in Australia. Each week there will be a Colour Creations blog hop showcasing Stampin' Up! Colors with a selection of members from the Art With Heart Team who will be joining in. I'm looking forward to seeing their beautiful projects using the Stampin' Up! Colors. You'll be able to hop around by clicking on the next link at the end of my blog. The colour for tonight is Balmy Blue which is part of the Subtles Collection and comes in a number of different mediums such as Ink, Cardstock, Stampin' Blends, DSP etc.... I've used Balmy Blue with Crumb Cake and Real Red for my handmade card. I just couldn't resist using the Count on Me Stamp Set again, last week I used it for Week 1 for the In Colors Blog Hop. Today's card is a vintage feel with lots of layers which I love to create these types of cards. The cute bear is a watercolour using Crumb Cake Ink and fussy cut out. I've layered him onto the Basic White Tailor Made Tag and added Balmy Blue Ink with the Blending Brush. The You're a Peach Designer Series Paper is so beautiful, my favourite is the Balmy Blue striped side onto Basic White DSP. I actually torn the side of the DSP and used some of the other side and placed it under the tag. The other panel is Basic White Cardstock adding Balmy Blue Ink with the Blending Brush and embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I also ruffed up the edges with the Paper Snips. The sentiment is from the Create With Friends Stamp Set, I love all of the words and the font in this set. You can create so many different greetings for your paper craft. I've used Real red and Balmy Blue. The Forever fits nicely in the smaller tag. The tiny Real Red hearts are from the Floral Heart Dies. How cute is the one on the bears backside? Now it's time to hop along and visit the lovely Michele Taylor to see her project please click on the link below. The list of participants are listed below. Hello fellow stampers! Welcome to the 2022-23 Colour Creations blog hop where the AWH team will showcase a different Stampin’ Up! colour each week. This weeks colour is Balmy Blue which is found in the Subtles colour family. One of the many new products in the 2022-23 annual catalogue is the Kraft Note cards and envelopes used for my cards tonight. It comes in a handy set of 20 that can be used to create multiple cards for different occasions or the same occasion. I received five in my paper share and hope to finish the set using the same theme but different sentiments. The two cards I have made have used the Happiness Abounds stamp and die bundle. The DSP in this whole suite is just stunning. I started with two die cut rectangles in Balmy Blue card stock by stamping several flowers and leaves with VersaMark ink. This was heat embossed with White embossing powder. The white lines stand out nicely on Balmy Blue background. The embossed layer was adhered to the Basic White mat. I then stamped more roses of different shapes using Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia inks onto Basic White card stock and each was then die cut. The flowers were adhered with dimensionals and then I tucked strips of ribbon folded in half behind the flowers with glue dots. I used the Open weave ribbon in Fresh Freesia and the White Glittered Organdy ribbon to add some sparkle. The sentiment is from the Sending Smiles stamp set and stamped using Balmy Blue ink and then fussy cut. To finish off the card I added some bluish Glossy Dots Assortment. My second card has used the same elements with the addition of a die cut frame from the Fabulous Frames die set. As mentioned previously the note cards have matching envelopes and these were embellished with floral die cuts too, Hope you enjoy the remaining blog hop where you can find more Balmy Blue inspiration from the next participant the very talented, Rachel Woollard. If you find a broken link or have come to this blog hop from a different entry point, you can view the full list of participants on Cathy Proctor’s blog.

The grapefruit card is CASED from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and the lime card is an original of mine. A bit of texture overload with all the dry embossing, but I LOVE how it turned out! Below are the samples featured online for the Irresistible Blooms that I recreated in my video. On the close-up below you can see how I added some Balmy Blue Ink with a Small Blending Brush to the flower to soften it up. Looks like the original was a notecard size (3-1/2" x 5") but I made it into our typical full size (4-1/4" x 5-1/2"). Be sure to check out the ONLINE EXCLUSIVES!!! Do you live in the US? Today let's tackle the struggle of "gifts for friends" during the holidays. I've got gifts for friends you can make easily and affordably!
Visit the post for more.
Each week some of the Art with Heart Team will be participating in a Blog Hop all about colour. We will be bringing to you creations highlighting one of the Stampin' Up! colours each week and with 50 colours plus the 10 In Colors there is so much inspiration to look forward to. Last week we looked at the 5 New In Colors for 2021-23 this week we are looking at Balmy Blue and we will continue in alphabetical order. Well I couldn't help myself I had to do a fancy fold! A Double Tri-Fold Pop Up Card. Well that sounds like a mouth full but it is so easy! I hadn't seen one of these before and I came across it on Dawn Stampin' Thoughts and thought I would give it a try. It is one piece of Thick Basic White card base that you score first and then cut to get your sentiment trifold section off the card base. Hence the Double Tri-fold part of your card. Ok so the fancy fold has nothing to do with Balmy Blue so where does this Balmy blue come from? Glad you asked. The Gorgeous DSP is the new "You're A Peach" I have used both on the base of the card and the layering on the sentiment section of the card. For the sentiments on the card I have used the stamp set Simply Succulents. I really love the sentiments and greetings from this set, ok the whole set but I digress. I wanted the first sentiment to fit into the square that I had created but as you can tell from this picture of the stamp set it doesn't quite come the way I have it stamped. I got out my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker and used the brush end and just inked up the words that I wanted and stamped them, cleaned off the stamp inked up the next word, lined up my stamp and continued on like that until my sentiment was stamped the way I wanted. Just because a stamp is set in a particular way doesn't mean you can't make it work the way you want it to. I love how we can use all the different products that Stampin' Up have as they match an coordinate so well. If I wanted to use the Balmy Blue Stampin' Write Marker that would have fitted in with the DSP that I had used as well. The next two sections I stamped as normal. I happened to be playing with the Quiet Meadow stamp set just before making this card and thought the flower from this stamp set would look lovely on this card so I stamped it in Smokey Slate and coloured it in Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stampin' blends did a little fussy cutting and adhere to the front of the card after adhering the sentiment section. Of course with a little bit of bling to finish off. Just so you know this card fits perfectly into our envelopes and the trick to making sure your get it to fit is to lay your card down closed on your envelope before you adhere the sentiment trifold panel. You can then move it in or out as far as you need to and just add enough adhesive under that front section as you need. Then turn it over and do the same to adhere the back section. It was fun trying out a new fancy fold to try and I will be putting this one in my bag of fancy fold tricks that is for sure! If you have any questions about my card tonight or would like to get you hands on some of these wonderful new products to play with yourself please do not hesitate to contact me! I look forward each week to the amazing creativity of the AWHT members who have created with our challenge colour and Christine Blain our next person on the hop is always a must so head on over to her blog now. Balmy Blue and Tasteful Touches Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and to the 1st Colour Creations Showcase by members of the Art with Heart Team. Each week we will hero one of Stampin' Up!s colours as over the coming year we will work through all current colours. I hope you have been enjoying all the projects that have been inspired by this week's colour - 'Balmy Blue'. Our projects must include the featured colour for that particular week but we are also able to use any other current colours in the project. I so love playing with colour and am looking forward to stretching myself to use all of the 50 Stampin' Up colours. We all have our colour prefer if challenging. I love the Subtle colour range and so was comfortable using Balmy Blue. I wanted to use it in different design elements and also needed to decide what colours I would use also. This week I'm keeping the card to a monochromatic colour scheme with a touch of gold. I'm also using a number of new products from Stampin' Up!s Annual Catalogue 2020-2021 which was launched today. This catalogue has so many gorgeous products. If you live in Australia and don't have a demonstrator, let me know if you would like the catalogue mailed to your door. I started with a light Balmy Blue watercolour wash on Shimmery White card-stock. When it had almost dried naturally, it was embossed using the new Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I love the effect of this embossing folder - it looks as if the paper has been crumpled and partially flattened. So much gorgeous texture. This watercoloured textured card-stock is the card front. It was mounted on Night of Navy, Vellum and Balmy Blue card-stock. The gorgeous flower from the Tasteful Touches stamp set was stamped a couple of times in Night of Navy ink on to Whisper White card-stock. The flowers were coloured with Light and Dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends with some of the Colour Lifter to help with blending the highlights. The flowers were fussy cut. An inch strip of In Good Taste designer series paper was laid across the card front and lifted on dimensionals. To add some leaves without another colour, one of the new Forever Flourishing leaf sprays was used with Vellum. Some simple veins were added with a Chalk Marker. The vellum leaves and the coloured flowers were arranged over the DSP strip and a new Gold Hoop. These gold hoops are so gorgeous - I will need to control myself not to use one on all my cards. The sentiment also came from the Tasteful Touches stamp-set and was white embossed onto a small strip of the same DSP. The sentiment was fussy cut and set up non Mini Dimensionals to add some subtle dimension. To finish of some Basic Rhinestones were coloured with the Dark Balmy Blue Bends and the White crinkled seam Binding was stamped with one of the texture stamps in Balmy Blue ink. To carry the theme from the card front to the inside of the card, the Tasteful Touches flower was stamped inside the card and coloured with the Stampin' Blends. Usually, I don't add a sentiment inside the card so that it can be used in a range of circumstances. Thanks for dropping in to check out my 'Balmy Blue' project for this first Colour Creations Showcase for 2020-2021. There will be so much more inspiration in the weeks to come, so pease join us again over the coming weeks. The Creative Showcase will go live at 8.00pm EST each Wednesday. The lovely Catherine Proctor is hosting the Art with Heart Colour Creations Showcase each week. If you haven't finished checking out the team's colour creations, you can visit Catherine's page, at What Cathy Made by clicking here, where she has links to all the other Showcase participants. I do hope you are coping in these challenging times. It is so good that restrictions are being lessoned through staged approaches across the country, and life is expanding to a new normal, at least within Aus. Take care and look after yourself and your loved ones. Looking forward to seeing you next week.
