I was fortunate to be selected by Stampin' Up! to make card samples using the brand new Stampin' Up! 2016-18 In-Colors for the demonstrator only #OnStage2016 event held in Sydney on 16 April. I received a couple of new stamp sets along with the five new colours and was asked to make 20 card samples (four of each colour) to highlight the new 2016-18 In-Colors. This is the second of five posts, one for each colour giving you a sneak peek of the new colours and some of the new stamp sets being released with the new annual catalogue on 1 June 2016. Colour #2: Peekaboo Peach   Peekaboo Peach is a lovely apricot colour which works well with many of the other Stampin' Up! colours such as Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip. This card features Peekaboo Peach card stock and classic ink along with the new Sitting Here stamp set. This is a terrific stamp set for creating scenes like the one above. I used sponging and watercolouring techniques to create this card. The overhanging trees were created using the current In the Meadow stamp set. I fussy cut several of the stamped images used on this card to layer them and add dimension. This corner fold card features Peekaboo Peach card stock, 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the new Sitting Here stamp set. I dry embossed the front of the card with the Elegant Dots TIEF for some added texture. The 'happy birthday' sentiment from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set was stamped in Tip Top Taupe and layered onto a Pumpkin Pie banner. This card features Peekaboo Peach 30.5cmx30.5cm 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the new Gift of Love hostess stamp set. I used the masking technique when stamping the flowers on this card. I also used Chocolate Chip classic ink and card stock and added a decorative touch to the top corner with the retiring Curvy Corner Trio punch. Some pearls and white bakers twine complete the card. This card features the Peekaboo Peach 30.5cmx30.5cm 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the new Layering Love stamp set. I sponged Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party onto some Whisper White card stock then created the butterflies from the sponged card stock by using the Bitty Butterfly punch or Butterflies thinlets. Some Black bakers twine and a few Rhinestones add a little sparkle to the card. I hope you've enjoyed this sneak peek of some new stamp sets and the Peekaboo Peach 2016-18 In-Color. This week has flown with lots more work happening outdoors here colourmehappy hq, so it's no surprise I have tools on my mind, & used the them on my card for this week's sketch challenge at Just Add Ink. Here's the fab & flexible sketch Narelle challenged us with. Cool, huh? I took a little liberty & squished the sketch a bit to make my card, but I'm sure you'll see all the sketch elements. I paired together the Nailed It stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue & Labeler alphabet stamp set from the 16-17 Annual Catalogue - my first play with both of them. I received Nailed It as a Prize Patrol win at Onstage Live in Brisbane (#demoperks). It's not a set I'd normally gravitate too as tools are not really my darling man's thing, but I was very happy to win it, as it was something different for my collection. More ideas for masculine card ideas are always welcome. Back to the card, I started by cutting the circle sketch elements with my Stitched Shapes framelit dies (have you figured out I LOVE these yet?), then embossed the real red circle with the new Hexagons Dynamic embossing folder (wow! another new love that one). The dotty paper is from the Carried Away dsp pack - a Sale-a-bration freebie you can choose with any $90 purchase until 31 March. See how to get your free pack here. I stamped the tools in basic gray archival ink & watercoloured them with smoky slate, dapper denim, old olive, real red & peekaboo peach ink & an aquapainter, then fussy cut them out. If you're thinking 'ugh, fussy cutting', you'll be glad to hear that coordinating Build It framelit dies are also available separately & as a discounted bundle. I don't have the dies yet so fussy cutting it was. I popped up all the elements on dimensionals too. Here's a more angled view of the card to hopefully help you see the dimension. The punny birthday sentiment is a custom one I stamped using the Labeler alphabet stamp set. I love that it helps you make your message say anything you'd like, & it's such a fun font & shape. I really hope this makes the dear friend receiving the card laugh & not think we're calling him a tool, something I'd never have thought of until the darling man suggested it. What do you think? On the inside, I used a leftover paper scrap & a few more watercoloured tools. I forgot to take a pic, but I'll add one later if I have a chance to do it before giving the card this weekend. This is the third of five posts, one for each of the new Stampin' Up! 2016-18 In-Colors being released in the new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue on 1 June 2016. This sneak peek lets you view the new colours and some of the new stamp sets being released with the new annual catalogue. If you are interested in Stampin' Up! products and are located in Australia, please contact me as I'd be happy to assist you. I was selected by Stampin' Up! to make 20 card samples in total using the new colours for the demonstrator only OnStage event held in Sydney on 16 April and my brief was to highlight the new colour. Below are the four Dapper Denim coloured cards that I created for #OnStage2016. Colour #3 Dapper Denim Dapper Denim is a versatile colour which works well with many of the other Stampin' Up! colours such as Calypso Coral, Marina Mist and Smoky Slate. This card features Dapper Denim card stock, 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the Party Popup thinlets. I used the inlaid diecut technique for the 'Hip Hip Hooray' focal piece. This required diecutting the Hip Hip Hooray thinlet twice, once in Dapper Denim and again in Calypso Coral. I adhered the Dapper Denim diecut onto the card base then inlaid the words and confetti using the Calypso Coral pieces into the diecut. I stamped the balloons from the Balloon Celebration stamp set and punched them out using the Balloon Bouquet punch and adhered them to the card. Some strands of thick Calypso Coral twine were added to the balloons too. This card features Dapper Denim card stock, 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the Love You Lots, Layering Love and You've Got This stamp sets. I used the You've Got This background stamp which was inked in Soft Sky and some Dapper Denim sponged around the edges of the stamp to create the background for the hedgehogs. I watercoloured the hedgehogs in Smoky Slate and Peekaboo Peach. The sentiment from the Layering Love stamp set was also stamped using Dapper Denim ink and layered onto White bakers twine and a small rectangle of Peekaboo Peach cardstock. This card features Dapper Denim card stock, 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the Sitting Here, Perpetual Birthday Calendar and Flurry of Wishes stamp sets. I stamped the swing in Archival Basic Gray, then stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut the cushions, cat and bird too. Snowflakes from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set were randomly stamped to create a background for this card. The large snowflakes were punched using the Snow flurry punch and layered over the DSP and sentiment. Some Wink of Stella and Rhinestones on the snowflakes add some sparkle to the card. This card is for a special man in my life and features Dapper Denim card stock, 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the Guys Greetings and Crazy About You stamp sets. I stamped the anchors on the vertical banner in Smoky Slate. I then layered circles over the banner and interlocked the horizontal banner into the circle. Some linen thread wrapped around both banners and the top of the anchor gives the card a rustic touch. I've long admired Becca Feekan's cards and she has over the years created some cards using interlocking circles and this is what inspired me to adapt that concept and create the interlocking circle and banner. You could adapt this card's design to any occasion. I hope you've enjoyed this sneak peek of some new stamp sets and the Dapper Denim 2016-18 In-Color. Now, let’s scroll down to see what I’ve been making. Today I am showcasing for you the very gorgeous 'Live, Love, Grow' stamp set by Stampin' Up! (Pg 147 of the Annual Catalogue) My card is an Outdoor Terrarium! I fell in love as soon as I saw this set. It is so easy to stamp with. How did I colour the plants? This set is a 2-step stamp which means after you've stamped the outline, you use the bold image to stamp the colour! Can't forget the inside! It's all in the details! I stamped directly onto whisper white and I fussy cut 2 plants and raised them on dimensionals. I also used the fine tip glue pen to make all the plants glossy - it works a lot like crystal effects (retired) and actually lighten the colour in some of the leaves. The best part of our annual Cuzziepalooza get together at the lake every Fourth of July weekend is that cousins get to connect in person - and that includes the grown up cousins as well as the kid cousins~! We always have a great time and this year the festivities stretched over two days. Even Gram joined in the celebration one afternoon! It's that time again; time for the monthly Control Freaks Tour de Freaks! This month's theme is Fun & Fancy Free, which means anything goes! Should be an interesting tour this month (not that they aren't always, but you know what I mean). If you started at the beginning, you just landed here from Wickedly Wonderful Creations. Wendy always has something special to share! I'm number two on the tour, and there are fourteen of us this month, so be sure you click the "next" button at the bottom of each page so you don't miss anything! Hoo boy, my mind went in about a million different directions since we didn't have a theme, but I finally settled on using the gorgeous Serene Scenery DSP stack, and seeing where it would take me. First up is a cute little Bluebird sitting on a twine "wire." We have tons of birds flitting in the trees and shrubs here, so the leaves on this sheet inspired me. I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to add some shine to the bird's eyes. (Those leaves look a lot like my poor sapling cherry tree's leaves since the darn Japanese beetles have been at them. Grrr!) As soon as I saw the dotted Crumb Cake (on the back of what I call the Amber Waves of Grain, lol), I knew it had to be snow! And yes, it is July and hotter'n Hades, but I'm dreaming about cooler seasons just ahead! This card uses the AWESOME limited-release Thoughtful Branches bundle that will be available to customers from August 2nd-31st. The tree was die-cut in Soft Suede and Whisper White. The WW was glued to the back a little offset, so it looks like snow on the branches. Cool, huh? (See what I did there? This is one of the cards everyone joining me for all of my May monthly classes made. I think this whole stamp set is just so cute!! And darn- but this is one of the stamp sets that are retiring the end of this month too! So if you like it & you don't have it yet- you had better get it! It started out early with pigs & then I had boys all day. We played outside for about 2 1/2 hours yesterday morning & then we went out again for awhile yesterday afternoon. When everyone was gone- I burnt the midnight oil working on stamping stuff. The guys went racing in Columbus Junction for a special race there. Nathan got in a wreck in his heat race; they checked things out while under the caution & he ended up getting 2nd place. He started 9th in the feature & he finished 4th. This morning I'm off to go pick up all of my boys. I'll take the twins to pre-school & then spend my day with Trey & Masen. Tonight we are suppose to race in Osky, but it sounds like we might get rained out. I will be home cutting card stock either way though.....this is just a crazy busy week for me.
