Today we are creating a Heartfelt Hello Butterfly Card using the Heartfelt Hello Stamp Set and Softly Stippled DSP.
Today's card is another one I made using the 'Tile Effect' technique and was made for Michelle, a member of the card swap group, for her birthday last week. The top section of a Whisper White panel was scored at 1cm intervals to make the tile effect and lightly sponged with Crumb Cake. The flowers from Stippled Blossoms were then stamped using Raspberry Ripple and Pink Pirouette with the leaves in Old Olive. A sentiment from Happiest Birthday Wishes was added and a knot of Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin ribbon tied around the panel before matting onto a Raspberry Ripple card blank. The Stippled Blossoms flowers have a sort of vintage-y look about them so I think they really suit this technique. Have you had a chance to browse the new catalogue yet? What a lot of lovely new products there are and my 'wish list' grows each time I look! If you would like to purchase anything (and take advantage of my free p&p offer) then please get in touch and I'll be happy to help. Until next time - Happy Crafting Margaret x
Happy Tuesday Peeps!! Today over at Still AddINKtive Challenges we have a fun sketch and color combo challenge for you! The best part of this challenge is you can use the sketch, the color combo or both for your project. I love this color combo so that part was easy and I have had the Stampin Up Floral Framelit Dies for a while so I was anxious to make a floral shaped card with this sketch! I used the largest framelit die with rich razzleberry card stock to make the base. The next layer is some razzleberry DSP from the Polka Dot Parade pack cut with the second largest die in the set. I then used this same die to cut two white floral pieces, one I used for the inside and the other is cut for the strip across the middle. Awhile back I started buying the new firm ink pads from Stampin Up, I have to say I LOVE, them. I wasn't sure about them when the were first introduced but they are so nice and much easier to get a nice solid stamped image than the older ones. I have heard that they need re-inked much sooner but I can not attest to that yet as I have just started getting them. I am keeping my older ones too, since I like to squish my pads together for watercoloring, I will still be using them. I used the beautiful Stippled Blossom stamp set for my flowers. I got the two colors on the flowers by stamping off the base flower once before stamping on my whisper white card stock, then the next layer is razzleberry full strength. I did the leaves in the same way with old olive. The sentiment on here is from the SAB set called Vintage Verses, and I used black stazon for it. I punched a little butterfly using the new Bitty Butterfly punch from the spring mini with pretty in pink card stock. I added some basic pearls to the center of the butterfly and to the flower centers too. Be sure and hop on over to the Still AddINKtive Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this fun challenge. Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!! Vicki

I'm continuing to craft with Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper this week. Today I created this Softly Stippled Greeting Card!
Happy Tuesday Peeps! Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week at Splitcoaststampers. The colors are some of the retiring colors from Stampin' Up, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and River Rock! Seriously, what are they thinking....LOL!! Love all three of these colors, but I am sure we will embrace the new colors as well, I must say the upcoming NEW IN COLORS are soooooo pretty!!! Can't wait to get those! Anyway on to the card, I went with a layout I seem to use alot, simple but pretty. The DSP you see here is from the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance Kit.. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy and then Baja Breeze and then some whisper white at the top of the next layer, I embossed that with the perfect dot EF. Then the bottom of this layer is the DSP from the Simply Sent Kit, actually the kit contains cards, I just cut them apart to use the parts I want. I stamped the roses with baja and not quite navy, the leaves are river rock, I achieved the two tones of river rock by stamping the top stamp several times, re-inking with the river rock each time. The sentiment comes from the "Happiest Birthday Wishes" and is stamped with Not Quite Navy Ink onto the whisper white circle. I added some sticky back silver pearls to the flower centers, the top corners of the card and under the sentiment. Thanks for stopping by today! Vicki

As if I didn't love neutrals enough, the Dynamic Duos team is challenging us to make a monochromatic card using neutrals! Sweet :) Birthday Wishes Stamps: Stippled Blossoms, Bring on the Cake Colours: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla Embellishments: Crumb Cake Seam Binding ribbon Tools: Big Shot, Top Note die, Elegant Lines embossing folder I really enjoyed making this card. I have to say, the Stippled Blossoms stamp set is probably one of my favourite 'floral' sets from the new catalogue. Every colour combo I've tried just looks gorgeous together - even browns!! It's been a really long time since I whipped out the Top Note die... Sometimes it pays to shuffle through your supplies. Normally I have something in mind and grab the necessities, but today I browsed my stuffs first and came up with the card afterwards! Here's the challenge from the Dynamics Duos Thanks for stopping by! Would love to see you back tomorrow for a new challenge with Sunday Stamps :) -Tara xox
Concentrating on the soon to be retiring colors, I created this card today. Pretty In Pink, Celery and Regal Rose all will be going but not the Old Olive. Thankfully so since this is my favorite green. Stippled Blossoms set on Whisper White cardstock with sentiment from Just Believe. Ink colors: Pretty in Pink with Regal Rose for flowers, Certainly Celery and Old Olive for leaves. The green strip is retired SU designer paper but I don't know the name of it, it was in with my mixed papers.
Stippled Blossoms is a great two-step stamp set. With careful precision or a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig you can have flawless two-step stamping. Here is a swap a teammate shared with me at a team gathering. It's awesome, but I can't imagine doing more than one of these! April showers bring May flowers. SHERRI Sweet Deets (all supplies Stampin' Up!): Stamps: Blooming with Kindness, Stippled Blossoms Ink: Always Artichoke, Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Raspberry Ripple CS: Blushing Bride, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White Accessories: Big Shot, delicate designs textured embossing folder, 3/8" stitched satin ribbon Raspberry Ripple
Love this sentiment from the stamp set Trust God--"Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God." Such a good reminder to do what we can and stop worrying about what we cannot control. I made this card this weekend at my scrapbooking retreat, using the Stippled Blossoms stamp set. "Stippled" refers to the way the image is made up of hundreds of little tiny dots, like an Impressionist painting. Stippled Blossoms is also a 2-Step Stampin' set, which provides the beautiful color variations you see on this sample... and it's SO EASY! You stamp...

I have seen a lot of lovely cards using the Stippled Blossoms set, so I decided that is what I would use to make an "all occasions" set of cards for a Christmas gift. Stippled Blossoms is a two step stamp set, so I used Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush for one set of roses, and So Saffron and Daffodill Delight for the other roses. There are three pink and three yellow cards, with a birthday, get well and sympathy card in each color. Pretty!
