"Just wanted to say"...............that is one of my favorite sentiments because then I can say whatever I want on the inside of the card! Very handy to have a few cards with this sentiment and a blank inside on hand! And I am still loving all the the new designer paper! This particular sheet could be one of my all time favorites ever! I stayed with the same colors for my image - why mess with perfection?!?! I am hosting this week at Freshly Made Sketches. Hard to believe we are on sketch 521~ over ten years of designing and playing cards as my friend Michele Ferguson would say! It never seems to get old - too bad I do! But there always seems to be something new and fresh happening in the cardmaking world! So I am delighted when I host because I get to visit everyone's galleries and see how many creative ways my sketch is used! Hope to see you in the gallery this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Can't wait to see what you create with my sketch! Stamp Sets: Crane of Fortune, Many Messages Paper: Whisper White, Gold Foil, Smoky Slate, Symbols of Fortune DSP Ink: Memento Black, Smoky Slate

Al even lagen de nieuwe Stampin' Blends ongebruikt in mijn kast - what's new!

Welcome to another Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop. I love these hops because they make me try techniques and ideas that I may not have thought about trying.
Welcome everyone, The Soaring Swallows Bundle (#157810) was used for the bird & sentiment on this card. The bundle includes the Soaring Swallows stamp set (#157804) and the Swallow Dies (#157809) and when purchased as a bundle you save 10%. The bird & sentiment were both stamped with VersaMark (#102283) and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder (#155555), then set with the Heat Tool (#129056). Both were cut with dies from the Swallows dies. I dry embossed the Basic White card front (#159228) with the stripes from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folder (#157980), then attached the Abstract Beauty 4”x6” Specialty Designer Series Paper (#158039). The gold card from the Brushed Metallics 12”x12” cardstock (#153524) and the pink card from the Supple Shimmer 12”x12” Specialty Paper (#158068) were both cut with a Beautiful Shapes Die (#158046). The gold circle, the sentiment and the bird were attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). I daubered the card front with Polished Pink ink (#155712) before attaching it to the Basic White base card. The Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#158130) were added to the card. “Love what you do and share what you love.” lesleyjendra.stampinup.net [email protected]

Today's card looks as if it was created using two step stamp....but it is not. Instead it is created by coloring directly on the stamp with our Stampin' Write Markers. Using the 'bamboo' image, I stamped with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with our Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder. I continued with the 'floral' image and colored directly on the stamp with the Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Markers. If you would like to see a video tutorial on this card, please let me a comment and I would be happy to accommodate. Here is a

Hello Everyone! Hoping your weekend is going well for you and that you are finding some time for yourself where you can sit in your craft space and create. Yesterday I shared with you a card created with one of my favorites from the new catalogue. I had planned to make more with that set, but realized that I needed to make cards with the Artistically Asian stamp set first because I have a class planned with that stamp set. So I've put Floral Phrases aside for now. I love the Asian style, and look forward to making cards with this set too! You will find that there are a variety of colours used for the Asian style that can be bright and bold or soft and faded. Today's is more on the bold side with Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and black. As you can see on the Cajun Craze, I stamped a background with the bamboo stamp in the set, off stamping first to make the background stamping a little more subtle that direct stamping. In the photo below, a close up, you see how I watercoloured the edges of the watercolour paper. I used the Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, and Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Markers to colour the flower, spritzed with water, and then stamped it onto the watercolour paper. The addition of the Asian script in black, really adds to the balance of the card. This is were I n ormally will show you a side view so that you can see the layering of the card. Because I did not pop up any layers on this card, I opted to not take that photo for this card. Below is a photo showing the inside of the card, using the same watercolour stamping technique with the flower on the front. I am looking forward to creating more cards with this stamp set, so check in again over the next few days for different creations using this stamp set. I hope to inspire you! Happy stamping! Today I decided I wanted to create a simple card that featured two colors that are perfect together, gold and black. I thought the Bamboo Beauty stamp set was the perfect set to showcase these stunning colors. Here is what I came up with… I think this card is simply elegant. This is an excellent example of how less is more. The Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder really makes the stamp set pop. Oh, and the little symbol on the side represents “friendship”. So, let’s get started shall we. The card base is Basic Black cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”. I then cut a second piece of Basic Black cardstock to 2 ¼ x 5”. I stamped this piece with the bamboo from the stamp set and the friendship symbol using Versamark ink and then added Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. Once that was done, I cut a piece of Gold Foil to mount it on that measured 2 ½ x 5 ¼”. I added the two layers to the base using Dimensionals. Three little Gilded Gems finish off the front of the card. For the inside I stamped the sentiment “The Bamboo that bends is Stronger than the Oak that Breaks” which is a Japanese Proverb and one of the little bamboo branches onto a piece of Basic White cardstock that measured 4 x 5 ¼” using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I also added another of the bamboo branches onto the envelope. This was a fast and simple card that really stands out. I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it. For the first card, this pretty background has Just Jade, Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen. The floral image was cut from another pattern and added to the card for a matching and happy-colored birthday card choice. I was surprised at the wide variety of color combinations in this 12X12" Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is so easy to find some things you like! These 2 cards use the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack from page 141 in the Annual Catalog. The gold lines highlighted the gold in the designer series paper for me. This Crane cut from the Designer Series Paper and added to a Poppy Parade die cut make the gold and grey shine. Some Gilded Gems (152478) and Gold Shimmer Ribbon (156470) added extra shine. These two cards used two of the coordinating patterns with flying birds. Both have a linen look with watercolored images for a landscape look in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. I love the way it turned out! This is just an awesome bundle! It is the Sailing Home Bundle. Check out pg. 144-146 in the Annual Catalog. stamp set: 'Sailing Home' card stock: Night of Navy- Soft Suede- Sahara Sand- Very Vanilla- designer paper: Come Sail Away DSP ink: Night of Navy other: Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Smooth Sailing Dies, Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Glue Dots This is what it looks like when it is opened up! ++++++++ Yesterday I spent my day with Brayden, Masen & Ainslee. I didn't think Brayden was going to be here, as he was going to 4-H Camp. He went to camp, but not until 6:00 last night. So he was here to work with his 4-H pigs & help Papa on the farm again today. He loves being a farmer! Last night we all went to Brody & Drake's baseball game. My mom & Deke's parents went too. We then all went uptown for supper afterwards, sat around the fountain at the courthouse & got some ice cream! This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for most of the morning. He'll then head to Mt. Pleasant for a meeting. I'll spend my day with Masen & Ainslee. Today is Trey's birthday!! Can you believe he is if 5 years old already! Wow- where does time go? We'll celebrate his birthday tonight at the races together- cheering on "Uncle" Nathan! We'll have his birthday party tomorrow night at their home & celebrate then. Hello folks! It’s getting toward the end of the week, again… how is it that the days slip by so quickly? So here we are at the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and I’m excited…
It's the men's turn! Fathers, sons, brothers, grandfathers, nephews, uncles, and brothers-in-law are getting some special attention this month. I am always in need of masculine cards, and am so frequently at a loss for ideas. It's hard for me when all I want to do is break out the flower stamps, and add ribbons and bows and doilies, LOL. But I have a special treat for you! I have the Sailing Home bundle from the new annual catalog that starts June 4th, so you get a sneaky peek! And I know Wendy has it too, so the next stop on the tour will have more ideas for this fabulous set! If you landed here from Debbie Henderson's blog, Debbie's Designs, weren't her projects awesome? I'm sure by now you know how to hop, so just follow all the links to take the short five-stop tour. So, when I said I got the Sailing Home bundle, that wasn't entirely true.... I got the entire SUITE! Everything except the High Seas 3D embossing folder, which wasn't on the preorder list, darn it! Anyhoooo, since my daddy was career Navy, and my hubby is also a Navy veteran, I knew I just had to get it. Here is my first card, a birthday card manly enough for any man. The blue seas were embossed with the Seaside folder (retiring!) on a 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Seaside Spray (New In Color!) cardstock. It was adhered to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White, and then on a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Night of Navy mat. I tied the new Night of Navy/Sahara Sand baker's twine in a square knot and adhered the ends on back, then popped the panel up on dimensionals on the Sahara Sand card base. The sail boats were stamped in Night of Navy, and a Blender Pen was used to spread the color around. I think it's awesome that the boats, ship's wheel (cut AND emboss!), and banner are all dies included in the Smooth Sailing Dies! My next card is a perfect thank you for any guy that has helped you in some way. No frilly flowers or bows on this card. Nuh uh. It uses what I think is my favorite (for now, anyway) set in the new catalog - Free As A Bird. It can be bought as a bundle with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies, which are uh-MAZE-ing! The bird was stamped in Soft Suede and the leafy branch in Mossy Meadow. After coloring the bird (Crumb Cake Dark & Light, Soft Suede Dark, Calypso Coral Light) and leaves (Mossy Meadow Light) the image was cut with one of the dies. A second piece was cut using the next smaller die from Wood Textures DSP, split and adhered to the back. Notice that beautiful Mossy Meadow Linen Thread? That's part of the Magnolia Lane Suite - another superb suite! I am happy to see that the Woodland embossing folder is carrying over. Here's a close up of the Stitched Nested Label, which is really more like tiny dots, and I LOVE them! Oh there is so much to love in the new catalog, starting with a whole new layout! I can't wait until everyone has their own catalog to pore over. Be sure you have lots of Post-It flags....you're gonna need them! Up next is the wonderful Wendy Weixler, with her Wickedly Wonderful Creations!
