Today I have another card for Altenew's July Inspiration challenge . For this card I stamped two of the images from Persian Motifs onto...
Good morning and welcome to Day 1 of the JULY Paptertrey Ink countdown! I have the pleasure of introducing TWO brand new background stamps (designed by the lovely Dawn McVey) that I am sure you are going to love! The Cover Up: Diamonds and Cover Up: Quatrefoil stamps measure approximately 3 5/8 x 5 1/4" and will help to create a beautiful card front, in addition to being amazingly versatile additions to your basic background stamping! All of the new stamp sets and products that I am sharing today will be available to purchase on July 15th, 10 PM ET, at Papertrey Ink. I am loving the Cover Up: Quatrefoil in this very simple white/gray combination, which plays well with the adorable bird(s), beautiful florals and all of the amazing sentiments/fonts from Give Love (designed by Heather Nichols)! Here's the Cover Up: Quatrefoil again.... this time on Kraft with gold embossing. I've also embossed the daisy-like flowers from Give Love in white, added a few bits of greenery AND the lovely, script-y 'congratulations' die (another new one for July!). And.... last but not least, a few tags using the fabulous new Cover Up: Diamonds, which has been embossed in white on a Smokey Shadow (Tag Sale #10). Also, sneaking in a peek at the new Stemmed Statements stamps and dies, designed by Nichole (pretty, pretty)! Many thanks for allowing me to share with you today. Lots of loveliness from Heather, Betsy and Dawn too! Please take a peek at all of the fabulous new JULY Papertrey products comin' your way over on Nichole's blog!
Happy Saturday! I had a chance to get crafty today! I have been on spring break all week and it has been very busy busy! A lot going on with planning for the move. I have a card to share today using some new goodies from Papertrey Ink. I was trying not to buy anything, and I have not for a long while because it is just MORE STUFF to move. I caved! I felt I had to have something new just to jumpstart my dormant mojo! I am playing along with this week's Make It Monday Challenge. This week we are to add a background pattern behind a cut out frame. I chose to go with a textured embossing folder background. This is an oldie, but goodie folder. I am also playing along with this rotation of the Fusion Card Challenge. I just love the inspiration photo with the beautiful spray of florals. I started with a white cardstock that I embossed. The truck color looked alittle like ocean tides so I chose that color for the layered frame. I chose the smaller triangle from PTI Basic Banners set. I then inked and die cut the flowers and leaves from Gran's Garden stamp set and dies. I used hibiscus burst, ripe raspberry, pure poppy, melon berry, scarlet jewel, ocean tide, and simply chartreuse inks. I added a sentiment from Bold Blossoms stamp set stamped in versafine onyz black. I finished my card with a few clear sequins. As always thanks so much for stopping by! Betty
Today is the Release in Review Part 2 for the January PTI Release. I have a few more cards to share... This first card showcases Grand Botanicals and Keep it Simple: Retirement.... I used the Cornered Dies on this next card with a little stencil and masking to make this rainbow sentiment.... I used What the Doodle: Paisley here to create this card, along with Family Tie for the sentiment and die..... I created this colorful medallion using the Medallion Trio.... My last 2 projects were created using Gathered Garden. This first CAS card was quick and easy to stamp using Spring Moss and Berry Sorbet with a stamped off Smokey Shadow sentiment..... And last, a tag using Gathered Garden. I stamped several of the flowers along the side and then added in a sentiment from Banner Style.... This is it for the January Release. Today is also my last post with PTI as I have some new adventures on the horizon. Stay tuned! :) I have some made some life long friends while on this team and for that I am grateful. 💗 Head on over to Nichole's blog to see the rest of the Design Team and what they have to share today. Thanks for hanging out with me these last 3 years. I have appreciated all of your visits and comments! Hope to see you all again!
I have a new Papertrey Ink color combo that I'm loving, borrowed from Heather's new Green Boutique Papers--Aqua Mist, Spring Rain, New Leaf, and a touch of Hawaiian Shores. I used the stamps and coordinating flower dies from Beautiful Blooms II, as well as a tag from Mixed Messages. Ribbon is Spring Rain, and Vintage Button is Aqua Mist. The mat layer is Hawaiian Shores--a perfect color to accent Aqua Mist! I had several options for decorating that Aqua Mist background, but I decided that it looked best plain since there was enough busy-ness going on already with the flower background. Do you like Heather's color combination as much as I do? I know that I'll play with this one again. Thanks for stopping by!
I have several cards that have accumulated over the course of the week--time to post. I've already missed some of the challenges I was aiming for. I am playing along with some of the anniversary festivities at PTI with my first three cards (or tag). My first tag is inspired by the challenge by Rebecca Luminaria--I was inspired by the black stripes and gold accents and the coral colored tassels in the inspiration photo. I am also linking this up at Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes. My next card is inspired by the black, white and red tic tac toe in Lizzie's challenge. I used a piece from the Black & White paper pad and added a die cut sentiment in red. I am also entering this card at Happy Little Stampers March Anything Goes with Dies. My last card for the PTI Anniversary challenges today is for Lexi's challenge to create a card and envelope and actually get it into the mail. So this card is already on its way to surprise a friend with some good cheer. I am also entering this card at Simon Says Monday: Make Your Own Background, Simon Says Wednesday: For A Special Lady/Girl and Happy Little Stampers March CAS: Die Cuts. Last up is a birthday card for my mom, inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #278. I am also entering this card at Addicted to Stamps and More #232: Make Your Mark. Thanks for Visiting
This post is also available in: RussianHi guys! Today I wanna show some cards I made a while ago (like a month or so). Didn’t have time and wasn’t in the right mood to post them. All cards are about love 🙂 I usually make not particular Valentine ones as they could be presented throughout...

Thanks for visiting today...I have a sweet little design to share with you! As I have mentioned lately, I am trying to ink up my under-utilized stamp sets that I have had for YEARS. When I made THIS card, I wasn't ready to put this set away, so I quickly stamped another design. I really liked the colors that I chose for the larger blooms, but decided to switch things up and bring in a cooling grayish blue. I just love the feeling that it created! Rather than using multiple ink pads for the larger blooms, I just stamped the larger image off once before stamping on my focal panel and then used the 2nd step at full ink strength. This is one of those basic stamp tricks that I learned when I first began stamping, but it's one that never loses its pertinence. The leaves are stamped with Mint Julep ink and the shadow image is stamped in Vintage Jadeite for a great dimensional quality. The sentiment is stamped in Palette Black ink. This is my favorite black ink because I can also use Copic markers and it won't bleed. Is there a better black ink out there that I am unaware of? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject. I stamped the "thinking of you" portion onto a strip of blue paper and then cut a swallow tail on the end and adhered it with foam squares. I added a small black dot to the center of each of the blue flowers to tie in more of the black and to ground them as well. They feel empty to me without something in the center. I also added some clear Nuvo drops on the flowers and leaves to represent some dew and to create some additional shine. I also added some Sparkling Clear sequins in varying sizes for even MORE shine! And...if that wasn't enough, I added some Wink of Stella here and there because I just couldn't resist! The finishing touch, which I think really adds to the design, is the simple bow of Baker's Twine The entire focal panel is adhered to a piece of blue card stock and then adhered to the white card base with Scor-tape. These are the type of cards that I like having on hand, because you usually end up needing them when you least expect it. Thanks for fluttering by!
Papertrey Ink stamps are becoming an obsession for me. I have gone back to my first love in crafting, creating with stamps. PTI stamps are clear stamps and come with a label with the exact size images and a clear CD case for storage. It is a great system but one that doesn't work for me. I am very visual and need to be able to look through my stamps when deciding which I am going to use. I went on the look for a new method to store these stamps. I keep my wood mounted stamps in clear plastic drawers that I can open to view. I keep all other clear stamps inside photo pockets in 3 ring photo albums. Some fit into a 4 x 6 slot and some take two. This way I can search through my stamps sitting on the floor, on a chairs or at my desk. This works for me. : ) As for my PTI stamps this is what I do: I save the PTI gif image of the stamp set. I open a Word document and insert the picture. I enlarge it until it is the same size as my stamps. Print. Place a transparency sheet over the printed image. Take out my label and sharp scissors. Cut out and stick the title to the top right on the transparency. Cut and stick the remaining images. Adhere to the back. Three hole punch and place in a binder. * I store my binders so that the pages fall down. See below. Okay this is a bit labour intensive, but it works for me. I am working on die storage but Dawn McVey's system she uses looks like it will work for me. Here is Dawn's link .
Welcome! Today I have a sweet little pink number to share--a friendship card. I used Papertrey Ink's On My Couch set, combined with October Afternoon's Farmhouse paper (Her Bureau). I used PTI's Mat Stack 3 and Mega Mat Stack 3 to frame the chair image, which I had stamped on patterned paper, trimmed closely, and shaded slightly with a Copic T1 marker. I added some Copic YR30 for a soft warm glow coming from behind the chair. Ribbon is white seam binding dyed with a Copic R20 Various Inks (reinker). That's it for today--thanks for stopping by!
I'll show exactly why I'm crafting on Sunday: PTI's March 2018 Blog Hop! I'm totally smitten by Martha's little 'nest' and have even saved the instructions for future use! lol ... do you have a 'CASE this' file, too? OH you can't know how much I wish I had PTI's gorgeous tulips... a darling little Botanical Blocks III Poppy will have to do! I've created a little nest using PTI's Rustic Jute Button Twine, and a few slim cuts of their Fine Linen card stock... even snuggled a few 'eggs' in for good measure! The PTI Mighty Jungle cover plate gave interest to my card. See how sneaky I was getting a little bit of blue into my design? A little water coloring with Zigs was all it took to 'paint' this little panel, which was heat embossed onto water color card stock. Thanks for stopping by ... I'm off to add my card! =] Michele
Hello! Welcome back to my blog! I love the invitation at PTI to Create Along With Us each month. After the designers have showcased the new products we're invited to CASE their projects and create one of our own, spinning off from one of their designs. This month it was very hard to select just one favorite project from all the beautiful samples. I chose this gorgeous card from Laurie to CASE. I always want to case what she makes! I was inspired by the clean colors, crisp style, delicate embossing and layout of her lovely card. I CASE(D) the layout. My own card uses the Lilies of the Field stamp set, and changed the color palette. Of course I wanted to use my Bitty Background papers and so far my choices are limited to two colors. LOVE those polka dots! I combined the sentiment from the new Penned Elegance stamp set with a small sentiment line from the Scripted Sayings set. I see so many possibilities for using these elegant sentiments in a bold font. I used a die to dry emboss the corners of the white panel. It came with the Gemini Jr. from Crafter's Companion that arrived at the post office for me today. Love my new toy! Wheee! Thanks for visiting! Be yourself Delight in your craft Make something beautiful!
Welcome back! Still with us?!?! We saved something real fun for the end with Stamper's First Aid. You might have noticed this last week on Nichole's blog that she was asking for you to post a photo of a card that you felt just "needed a little something". The design team members were then asked to each pick a card and remake it with a few changes that we felt benefited the project but remained true to the original concept. If your card got chosen (Gladys...I'm talking to YOU!), you'd receive a $25 PTI gift certificate. Lots of fun. The card I selected by Gladys paired up image stamps In Bloom and Turning a New Leaf and a sentiment from Blooming Button Bits (took me awhile to figure that out...was looking in all my sets!). I felt it had a lot going for it. The composition and balance of elements was just about spot on, it had an interesting juxtaposition between the solid leaves and lined flowers, and used lots of bright color. And here's my version. Just to outline a few changes I made... 1. I wanted to anchor the leaf sprays a bit so the stems were hidden, making them more a piece of a main image instead of individual elements. The only way I felt I could achieve that was by stamping the flower images on their coordinating dies and covering up the stems. This also allowed me to place two flowers on pop dots for added dimension, creating a more dynamic composition. 2. Gladys choose some great colors with Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, and Hawaiian Shores. I threw in one more with Winter Wisteria. If you look at her original card, she's got an Aqua Mist blossom overlapping the Raspberry Fizz. That visually read as purple to me, so that's what I went with. I also felt if you are using lots of different color and not following the rule of three (each color used three times in the composition), then you have to go whole hog when throwing the rule out. The two orange blossoms in Gladys original card conflicted with that a bit. It threw the balance off just a little bit. By ditching one orange blossom and adding a purple, you have a certain order in the chaos. Not one color is predominant. 3. I added some color to each of the blossoms with a Copic marker just a shade or two lighter than the ink color used. There's still plenty of white on the edges, carrying over that soft look Gladys was going for, but just with a little added depth and interest. 4. I choose to move the sentiment down and place it on a piece of Aqua Mist striped paper. It gave it a "home" and leads your eye down across the card, letting you see the flowers first. Thought a patterned paper would add just the right bit of personality. 5. Since the leaves are more of a supporting element, I kept them all one color (Simply Chartreuse). Gladys, thanks for giving me such a great card to work with. It took me in a direction I don't normally go in and I love the result. Hope you do too! Be sure to check out the other Stamper's First Aid Projects tonight. With all my Papertrey Ink stamps and dies I rarely have what I need to enter their monthly challenge. This time I had something and got a card made way ahead of time so was more than ready for this post to the Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge. I stamped and die cut the flowers from Vintage Linens and then used my Inktense Pencils to add some shading and black centers instead of using the black outline. The sentiment is from their "Wishes Come True" set. I'm so glad you dropped by.
Today I have another Papertrey Ink tulip card to share with you, as well as a Copic traveling update at the end of the post. First, to see any pictures at a better resolution, click on the picture. For some reason Typepad has been defaulting to a lower-resolution image in the post--I'm guessing to make it load faster. For this card I used the tulip bouquet from the Friendship Jar: Spring Fillers set. The tag is from the Mixed Messages set, an oldie but great-ie! I took a few pictures as I colored the tulips, hoping that they might be helpful. Please ignore the one colored blossom for this shot and focus on the greenery. I've used the Copic YG60's here, except for the G21 base. The *new YG61* should be out very soon, and I can't wait to get it! I added a bit of violet in the shadows...
Welcome into day 5 of Blog Reader Appreciation Week! Today I have a friendly little PTI Friendship Jar & Fillers Card to share with you. The inspiration was this print I saw on Etsy (there are actually tons of different...
Here's a rather straightforward card using PTI's Simply Jane, a Fiskar's border punch, and dimensionals. I just love that quotation from Northanger Abbey. I need to reread that one...been a while, and I do love Jane. What's your favorite Austen novel? I'm torn between Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility.
Hello there! It's time for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge ! For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Spring Woods ...
I finished my second Mother's Day card last night--now to get one in the mail today! I started with a lovely sheet of patterned paper that combined yellows, rosy reds, chartreuse greens, and pale pinks, but it wasn't working out. I had already put enough time into coloring my focal image that I planned to use it, floral paper or no floral paper! Stamps that I used were all Papertrey Ink: Button Boutique, Love Lives Here, Friendship Jar: Spring Fillers, and Tiny Tags. Paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Togetherness Mini Deck. (Rabbit trail alert: have you seen the previews of Cosmo Cricket's new Odds and Ends line? I can't wait to get my hands on it--it's just my speed!) These were the Copic markers that I used to color the tulips in the button frame--all PTI Copic combos, found here. I used a couple of pieces of Judikins Eclipse Tape...
Good Morning! It's day five of the March Papertrey Ink countdown and I have a few projects to share with you today featuring the new Butterfly Hope stamp set and the coordinating Cover Plate: Butterfly Hope, which will be available at 10 pm EST on March15th in the Papertrey Ink store! My first card highlights the beautiful butterflies in a rainbow of color! Totally crisp and clean with a lovely sentiment from the brand new 'Ways To Say: Thank You' set. Card #2 is another bright and colorful one! I've also used the lovely dotted frame from Mix & Mat: Flourishes (backed with a bit of True Black card stock) and added dimension to the white layer so those beautiful butterflies can take center stage! And...... my third project uses a bit of white embossing and my Zig pens (well, actually, just ONE single pen/color). I must confess, I'm a little afraid of coloring (too much 'skill' involved!). I added an ombre-d 'hello', a vellum window and a perfect little sentiment from the soon-to-be-released Sweet Friend stamp set! This is the beautiful Cover Plate: Butterfly Hope. SO very pretty in White Linen, Lavender Moon 'Hot Spots' patterned paper and vellum, and highlighted by the scalloped frame die from Shakers + Sprinkles! A tiny tag (with a sentiment from the new 'So Sweet' stamp set) and a bit of silver cording are the finishing touches. Butterfly Hope has SO many, many design variations! Can you see how my mind works? I had to try 'em all. Just take a peek at that pretty little pile of butterflies all ready for future projects. Oh.... and just look at the a-dorable butterfly/Easter tag! If you would like more countdown inspiration, Nichole has a post bursting with beautiful projects! Wanda is also sharing some amazing projects created with the fabulous Make It Market Mini Kit: Bloom and Grow! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Welcome to Papertrey Ink's release countdown! I have one card to share today using 2 new sets, Palm Prints and Splits: Hello. So I got an email the other day with a picture of a calendar. When I saw the calendar, I was instantly inspired to re-create the same look. Sadly, now I can't find the email (or remember where it came from) but the card was totally inspired by a gorgeous calendar with similar black palms. I took one of the images from the Palm Prints and stamped it in black around the card front. Then I used a little polka dot from Splits: Hello There and stamped it several times in Hibiscus Burst, as well as the sentiment. I layered the card front on a Hibiscus Burst card base. Nichole will have lots more stuff to see on her blog with some links to visit the rest of the Design Team. I will be back in a couple of days with the Release in Review! Have a great day! SaveSave
Hello there! It's time for Day 3 of the Papertrey August Countdown and today, I've got quite a few projects to share with you! All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase...
Hello! I have something so very very special that I would like to share with all of you. Ready? I have had my first publication!!! Yep, I took the plunge and submitted a few cards a few months ago. First time ever ~ fingers crossed, but wasn't holding my breath! The day has finally come and the August issue is out. But wait, it gets better. I have two cards in the August issue of Create: Stamping!!! Hold on, hold on...it gets even better. I'm a COVER GIRL!!!!! HOLY COW I made this card!!! My other card is featured on pages 24 & 25! I have to say I have been floating on air for quite awhile now. I told my husband, son and daughter-in-law, but swore them to secrecy so that I could surprise my parents when the publication came out. Well that's not going to happen exactly the way I would have liked. They are no longer publishing the book in paper form. BOO, they have gone digital. Shucks, I sure wanted to give my parents a surprise copy with a big lush bow wrapped around it. I don't know about you, but I would much rather look at a book or magazine flipping through the pages in real life instead of on the computer screen. I like the look, feel and even smell of something in print. So I do have a wee sinking feeling in my stomach, but that's the way it goes. Anyway...I'm over the moon with joy and happiness. You want to know what else makes this the most special. My son. When I told him he gave me the biggest longest hug and told me how proud he was of me. Oh good grief I love just him so much!!! Now when I look at the sentiment on the front of this card I think of my Joey. Thanks for sharing in my joy! Take care and have a blessed Sunday. ~Lisa
Hello there! Are you ready for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge ? I hope so because we have another great color palette to play w...
Good morning crafty friends! I have certainly been enjoying challenges and I'm jumping right in with a card to share for the Make It Monday challenge at PTI where Stephanie inspired us with her lovely card using different types of papers. I went searching for my papers and combined a polka dotted page from last year's planner and a corrugated textured panel for the card base. I pulled out mulberry paper from my stash, and added a sentiment embossed on a piece cut from a shiny gold envelope. Adding a touch of gold embossing at the top of the panel and gold thread tied the elements together. Making this collage was so fun! I stamped the Brushed Bird in Aqua Mist and Blueberry Sky inks. Thanks so much for visiting my blog today! Be yourself Delight in your craft Make something beautiful!
So I finally have had a chance to participate in the monthly PTI blog hop... I've been missing them, and so I was so glad when I got to sit down and play a little last night! It's not my most favorite card, but I don't mind. I keep forgetting that I don't have to reinvent the wheel for every project... Sometimes, it's nice to sit and just play. I love the size of the Fab Flakes set. The snowflakes are large enough to really make a statement. Bearing that in mind, I decided to make a 5x7 card instead of a normal A2 sized card. I stamped the flakes in Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, and Delicata Silver. I love how they look all clustered together. The sentiment is from Christmas Cheer, die cut from Tropical Teal and stamped in Smokey Shadow. I covered the die cut in some Shimmer Pico Embellishment, added a few sequins for sparkle, and mounted it on a clean white card base. I thought about sponging some ink around the edges, but I decided I liked the way it looked as is. Happy Thanksgiving, friends! I hope your day is full of laughter, love, and family! One of the kiddos is sick with croup, so we are probably stuck at home tomorrow. Meh. Eat some pumpkin pie for me! :)
Hello there and welcome to the first Papertrey Ink group post of June. The new Vegetable Garden stamp set and dies is a perfect way to welcome the warm, summer days. I have a few projects to share with you...
Hi Friends! As you are reading this we are touring our nation's capital, enjoying the sights and visiting some family! Today is Smithsonian day and the kids are so excited! But, enough about that, and on to what you came...
Recently, I was reading about die storage on the PTI forum with much interest. I have tried a few different ways to store my dies but nothing ever really worked to my liking. Until I saw this you tube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rc6ce14lYa4#! I was instantly in love. As a matter of fact I ran out to Staples an hour later to buy everything. For a procrastinator, that is very rare. ;) {you can click on the pictures for a larger image} I bought a binder by Martha Stewart and some protectors and pockets. Martha has her own line but I bought a cheaper brand just because that's me. Cheap. But she does have some really cute tabbed dividers that I had in my hand. But I really don't need them so I left them there. I fell in love with the binder right away!! It is a perfect match to PTI's Aqua Mist and it has a really nice texture to it. No way was I going home without it! So the first thing I did was add the page protectors and the pockets. The pockets are a PERFECT fit for the Impression Plates. And as a bonus, they can also hold my Spellbinders Impressionabilities and Cuttlebug Folders. You can fit more than one, but I don't have many so each one gets it's own home. The last thing I added was the pocket in the back. It is expandable and has a velcro opening. I put my Spellbinder Embossing mats and PTI Impression Plate mats inside there. I have been struggling to find a home for those so I am very happy!! Here you can see how I laid out the dies. I just cut some white cardstock in half, adhered magnets with my ATG gun and viola. I tried organizing my dies according to subject; outside elements, tags, envelopes, holidays. You can easily put 2 pieces of cardstock and the dies in one page protector. The bottom picture shows how bulky it is with everything in there. The front cover actually sits perfectly even, it's just laying that way because it's new I guess. So cheap me only spent $16.00 for this cute little compact die storage. Now I'm trying to figure out what else I can use the MS binder for. I'd love to see a few of these all lined up in a row on my shelf! :) Thanks for stopping by!!
Happy Monday! Well, I have been thoroughly enjoying the look back at The PAST, Present and Future with Nicole at PTI all last week.. Grateful to have had some time to play with sets that have not been inked for too long! Starting with Beautiful Blooms 2007: Flower Garden 2008: Giga Guide Lines 2009: Year of Flowers: Roses 2010: Delightful Doilies 2011: Embroidered Blooms 2012: The Best is Yet to Be 2013: Life Is Beautiful 2014: Brushed Blooms 2015: Peonies on Parade 2016: I simply enjoyed stamping on most of these cards..adding layers of papers and Dies. I used PTI inks..keeping to mostly the same color palettes of yellow and green. A few of them I went back in with Ziggys to add a watercolor wash and details. Looking forward to seeing what is in store for this year from Papertrey Ink:))) Thanks for stopping by! LauraJane:)
Hello, how are you today? I'm doing pretty well, I have a card to share with you! I got inspired by the Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink to use ribbon and twine on a card. Sounds simple, right? That's what I thought! NOT. Here's the beautiful card by Stephanie Gold. It took way too long to make my card. I was bent on weaving twine through the holes of the die cut panel. Unfortunately I had to stamp the random background and die cut the panel three times until I was happy with it. That's a LOT of tiny little holes to poke out. After completing the panel with images from the Spruce and Sprigs set, I did weave Linen Thread onto the top left corner of the card and topped it with a bow. Underneath the sentiment banner I added a green ribbon. I tucked the die cut berries in as a focal point, covering them with clear Nuvo Gloss Drops. I ended up with a warm country feel to my card that I really like. Hope you do too. Thanks for visiting! Be yourself Delight in your craft Make something beautiful! Supplies used: Stamps: Papertrey Ink - Spruce and Sprigs stamps and dies, Scripted Paper and Inks: PTI - Berry Sorbet, Green Parakeet Accessories: PTI - Mix and Mat Flourishes Die, Banners Die; SU - ribbon, Linen Thread I'm linking this card to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I decided to go with the middle row across; pink, free, ribbon. OH Hambo Hoedown!!!.....I have missed you sooooo.... but, Yaaaaaaay.....your'e back.!! The challenges are once a month, there are two free digis up for grabs so come and join in the fun of the new Hambo Hoedown Challenge where this months theme is flowers. Oooooohh I can't stop experimenting with mixed media backgrounds, they are so much fun to do, I admit I am not an expert yet like Dyan Reaveley, Magda Polakow, or France Pappilon (bowing down in admiration!!) but we all have to start somewhere eh!!. I started the background of this card with a layer of crackle glaze, then spread on some cream acrylic paint, it is always magical to see the cracks appear!! then I stencilled on the honeycomb using acrylic paints, then outlining it with a charcoal pencil, added some painted drywall tape, then finished off with some sewing (my new love too!!). The flower is the GERANIUM digi image from Hambo Stamps.
I have a quick post for today with 3 cards for various challenges. My first card is inspired by this gorgeous card by Laura Bassen, and I am entering it into a new PTI challenge Create Along with Us, which is a way to create something inspired by the release count down projects. Laura's Card I used the same design as Laura, substituting Meadow Green stamps for her Vintage Linen flowers. I used a frame made from Shakers and Sprinkles dies and a sentiment from Asian Fusion. I am also entering this card at Time Out #35: Nature with the option of animals. I am entering this next card at Just Us Girls #301 where the challenge is Gold. I stamped the dotty image from Good Times twice in Delicata Gold, and then covered the part where they overlap with a die cut sentiment word, celebrate. Then, I stamped It's Your Birthday in Memento Luxe ink, so it would sit right on top of the gold stamping. My last card for today is inspired by this photo at A Blog Named Hero. I stamped and clear embossed Hero Arts Zig Zag Background and then sponged each section with a different color of the rainbow using Distress Inks. My sentiment is from Hero Arts Chalkboard Birthday, and I stamped it in black on a scrap piece, cut it out, and popped it up with foam tape. I am also entering this card at CAS-ual Fridays #141: Embossing. I am also entering these cards at Simon Says Monday Anything Goes challenge. Thanks for Visiting
This is a set of cards that I recently had published in the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft Magazine. I have used this PTI set over and over and over, it is ab fab! It’s another ‘rainy’ ride to work for me today, definitely a stay at home movie day if there was a choice! … Continue reading ur a classic!
Hello! I thought I wasn't going to have time to enter the PTI Blog Hop this month, but then I found myself with an hour "spare" in between swimming lessons, vet visits, and ballet lessons... yippee!! I quickly did a google search on "embroidery" and found a lovely piece that inspired me immediately. Actually, I found two, but I only have time to make one card. ;-) This is my card. I used PTI Doodlie-Do stamps. Colours are SU! Night of Navy, Real Red, Daffodil Delight. That strip on the side is actually navy, not black. The inspiration I used was this lovely handbag, which I found at Harujion Design. This is the PTI inspiration board. And just before I go, here is a photo of my Penny in all her colourful glory. Thanks for visiting... now, back to the crazy Saturday kid-taxi schedule... ;-) Michelle xxx
Hello guys! Well, it's about time I finally shared the last of my March Papertrey Ink release projects with you all. So let me get started... First up, Ribbon Tails. I stamped a polka dot Ribbon Tails strip, in Raspberry Fizz, across a white card front. Stamped and die cut a label, using Basic Labels stamp set and a coordinating die. Then stamped the label with a sentiment from Star Prints and attached it over the stamped strip. Embellished the label corner with a Modern Basics flower and a True Black button. To give the card the effect of the polka dot Ribbon Tails strip wrapping around the card, I stamped and attached another strip with dimensional adhesive. Then finished the card off with another button. Here's A Tip: For a little added detail, I rounded the end of the top strip by inserting the end into a small circle punch (like in the photo above). Next up, Sending You and its coordinating die. I went for a modern approach and chose to stamp these unique flower/flower centers in Raspberry Fizz and Plum Pudding onto a Rustic Cream card base. Stamped a sentiment focal point, using Modern Basics, and framed it using the Sending You Die Collection frame. To create, I started by die cutting the frame from Plum Pudding cardstock and then I die cut a circle from the center using the Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Die. How about some Tag-its #2 goodness?! This polka dot circle frame is just too cute! I stamped it onto Rustic Cream cardstock and cut it out by hand, stamped the adorable bird and attached to another Sending You die cut frame. Then attached the frame over a couple Spring Moss Ribbon Tails strips. Finished the card off with a few Harvest Gold buttons and a die cut Tiny Tags, stamped with a bird house and sentiment (also from Tag-its #2). And finally, Flower Fusion #2. I started this card by stamping a number of frames, from Label Basics, in Fresh Snow onto a Fine Linen card base. Stamped the flower stem twice in Ripe Avocado and topped it with a Flower Fusion #2 die cut. The die cut flower was stamped with Background Basics: Gingham (in Berry Sorbet), the outline Flower Fusion #2 flower (in True Black) and then topped with a button. Finished the card of with a sentiment, also from Flower Fusion #2. So there you have it! All the supplies used are listed in the Papertrey Ink Gallery. Hope you've enjoyed the goodies from another fabulous release! Have a great one! Maile
