I remember when the gold trend started. I said I would never use gold. I seriously ate those words. I love it! And with this new line of Luxe Metallics papers over at PTI....I'm sunk! They are SO gorgeous! Yes I said Luxe Metallics! Luxe Gold & Silver Cardstock Luxe Gold & Silver Adhesive Sheets Luxe Foil Gold & Silver Paper Collections These will all be available at Papertrey Ink on the 15th. Until then here is a little sneak peek of one of the new Luxe Metallics Gold striped sheets.... I had a really hard time cutting this beautiful piece of paper but I did it anyway. I added to a back card base and then attached a Wet Paint die, "thanks" to the front. I finished it off with some black enamel dots. Here are a few extra pics to show you the shine.... If you scroll back through all of my release posts for this month and you see gold? It's all the amazing new gold adhesive sheets. Here is one card I posted earlier in the week... It cuts perfectly with the dies. LOVE! Nichole's blog has lots more to see as well as details on the this year's Stamp-A-Faire. Head on over there to check it out! Thanks for stopping by! ...and an out take....Brody said he just HAD to be in this photo. :) I couldn't say no. lol
Today I have another Papertrey Ink Doodlie Do card to share--I told you that I couldn't stop playing with this set! For this card I stamped Versamark ink on Kraft cardstock and heat-embossed the image with Filigree Detail White Embossing Powder before coloring it with watercolors. Just a note, in case you are wondering: the reason that I didn't color the image with my Copic markers is that white embossing powder often comes off onto the marker nib if you try to color over it; I've messed up a super brush tip trying that trick before. One way around that if you wanted to use markers to color your image would be to stamp it in a white pigment ink and then heat emboss with CLEAR embossing powder, which does not react with Copics.) Back to my card: I used two Spellbinders die sets on this card front, Standard Circles...

Hello everyone and welcome! It's day four of the Papertrey Ink Countdown, as well as group post day one. Our challenge this month was to find an inspiration photo and create cards featuring the new set Rosie Posie as both a focal point and a hand stamped background. I've got a bunch to share with you today, so let me get started...My first card was inspired by this gorgeous indoor living space (photo from here). I love the bold and clean color combo of black and white with a pop of color. Here's what I came up with...The boldly striped curtains and the damask pattern on the pillow lead to this hand stamped card base. I stamped it using two of the three background building strips included in Rosie Posie, in True Black ink onto a white card base. For a pop of color I stamped the flower stem in Spring Moss, just off of the edge of a white cardstock block. The sentiment used is from Birthday Bash Sentiments. For the flower... I die cut and stamped the base image; then stamped, trimmed and attached additional layers to give this gorgeous flower tons of dimension.I fell in love with the colors of this next inspiration photo (photo from here). Here's what I came up with...And here's my single layer card for the day. I started with a Soft Stone card base and stamped the large flower in a color combo of Summer Sunrise, Terracotta Tile and Sweet Blush. Added a sentiment (from the new Flower Fusion #11 set) stamped in Dark Chocolate and finished the card of with a scattering of brown rhinestones.Check out this gorgeous chair, it makes for perfect inspiration! Here's how it all started... Drawing inspiration from the bird and flower pattern and the yummy yellow color of the chair, I hand stamped my own pattern paper. I chose to combine a few of the flower and leaf images from Rosie Posie with butterflies from Butterfly Dreams. The dots are from Rosie Posie (large) and Polka Dot Basics (medium and small). Here's How: I basically stamped this pattern by starting and building from one corner, arranging and fitting the images closely together (but without touching each other) like a puzzle. Then filled in any gaps with the three different sized dots (starting with the largest dot).I stamped an additional pattern using one of the background patterns from Rosie Posie. Trimmed both pieces, wrapped with white embroidery floss and attached them to a white card base with dimensional adhesive.Finished it off with Harvest Gold sentiment strip (sentiment from Fillable Frames #1).My final inspiration is from Heather Bailey Online (here). I love the look of the colorful blossoms included in a lot of her fabrics. My hope for this last card was to incorporate that idea onto a paper flower in the same fashion. Here's what I came up with...I started by die cutting a Mega Mat Stack #4 from Aqua Mist cardstock. It's a bit hard to see in the photo above (you can get a much better look in the photo below), but I stamped the Aqua Mist Mat Stack with different sized leaves using Fresh Snow, Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse inks. Stamped a sentiment (from the new Happy Day set) and attached the panel to a white card base. Here's where I tried to achieve the look of a signature Heather Bailey flower... I die cut and stamped the flower in Sweet Blush ink. Then touched the flower up with an orange and red Copic maker (using very light strokes). I think I can use a few more practice runs before I achieve the look I'm going for. Anyways, you get the idea. Well, that's it from me. Be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today. I know I can't wait to see!... It's day two of the Papertrey Ink countdown and the second day of sharing my latest Stamping Simply stamp set, Gracious Vases, with you (which will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on June 15th)! Here's what I've got for you today... First up, a simple yet elegant wedding card with a pop of color. I started by impressing a block of Rustic White cardstock with the one of the new and gorgeous Impression Plates, included in this months release, Damask Designs. I then attached the impressed cardstock block to a Rustic White card base with dimensional adhesive.Die cut a Mat Stack #5 from Rustic White cardstock and stamped it with a vase and the orchid (my favorite image from this set), in Palette Noir. Then colored the orchid blossoms with a couple of Copic markers. Stamped "Wedded Bliss" (which is a single sentiment stamp) in True Black and wrapped the mat with white silk ribbon and attached to the card base with dimensional adhesive.Next up, a hostess thank you. I had a ton of fun creating this card, especially this hand stamped background. Using Label Basics, I took almost all the angled rectangular labels and randomly stamped them onto a Fine Linen card base in Fresh Snow ink. Within the labels, I randomly stamped the liner vase images from Gracious Vases also in Fresh Snow. Love the way this turned out!To create the focal point, I started by stamping the large angled rectangular label in Chia Vintage Touch ink and then cut it out by hand. To ensure proper alignment of the stamped vases, I drew a light pencil line for me to follow. This is not a necessary step, but some of you may find it helpful. Also, a cardstock strip makes the perfect straight edge!Next, I stamped the four solid vases along the pencil line, also in Chia Vintage Touch ink, and then erased the line.Placed a mask over one of the vases and stamped the orchid in Aqua Mist.Removed the mask and stamped the sentiment. This sentiment was perfectly placed and stamped (in Dark Chocolate) using three separate sentiment stamps included in Gracious Vases. I love how this allowed me to not only create the perfect sentiment, but also to create a visual flow across the vases. Finally, I masked off a couple more vases and then stamped with fillers, in Spring Moss.Attached the label to the card base with dimensional adhesive and trimmed off the edge. Finished the card off with a couple ribbon tabs and a Fine Linen button. That's it from me today, but I'd love to know what you think of Gracious Vases so far! Don't miss the rest of the the happenings for today. Dawn McVey, Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford, Alli Miles & Lizzie Jones are showcasing their own new sets. Nichole Heady & Erin Lincoln have even more new goodies to share with you too. Thanks for stopping by. Have a super one! Hello Everybody and welcome to the Papertrey Ink January Release. I'm here today to show you some projects using the new Everyday Photo Finisher Stamp set that is being released on January 15th. It's a companion set to Holiday Photo Finishers and the Photo Finisher dies. I've always believed that the Photo Finisher dies are an absolute must have tool. The way they span the width of a card, the amazing embossing detail that have, and the perfect home for a sentiment have made them one of my most used sets of dies. So I'm thrilled that we now have sentiments that match the curves and shapes of them to use with them year around. Let's get started. First up, I have an example of how you can use the framed sentiments with your Copics. There are a few that are completely closed in, allowing for this look. Makes it easy to match the tone you set with other colored images on your card. This one in particular is a little preview of Fancy Folk Art stamps and dies you'll see later in the countdown. Everything is mounted on a Mega Mat Stack 3 die cut out of Spring Rain Gingham. You might have noticed a surprise introduction today on Nichole's blog--Daydreamer dies! A dream come true. That stamp set is going to get a workout from me now. I framed my Photo Strip die and happy birthday sentiment in a floral motif in Aqua Mist, Ocean tides, and Simply Chartreuse. The sentiments work well without the dies as well, as seen here. I teamed up a get well wish with a grid of stamped square motifs from Maile's new Square prints. Very masculine. And lastly, I just let myself see where some creativity would take me in using the anniversary sentiment. I first stamped the sentiment in Simply Chartreuse onto Limeade Ice cardstock and trimmed out. I also stamped Raspberry Fizz ink on Hibiscus Burst cardstock and cut away just the banner, laying it on my original Limeade Ice sentiment. I was interested in playing off the reference to time in the sentiment, so I used some of the new Hands of Time collection of products. I'm sure you'll be blown away when those are revealed during the group projects this month. Consider this just a bit of a teaser. Hope you enjoyed my projects. Remember, everything new will be available at www.papertreyink.com on January 15th. I'll be back over the next three days to show you new release projects using all the rest of the goodies. In the meantime, take a gander at what the other girls have been up to... The Papertrey Ink April Countdown is about to come to an end and I'm here to share my final projects with you today. But, before I do, let me remind you that everything you've seen peeks of will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink beginning 10 pm EST tonight. Now, let me get started!...First up, Tweet Talk. I stamped this sweet bird in a color of Orange Zest, Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry. The tail was inked with the Rock n Roll stamping technique using the same color combo.I created the color blocked pattern using the In The Meadow Die Collection.Next, Heart-2-Heart. I stamped a fun pattern using the patterned and tiny hearts from the set and the medium sized heart from Trendy Tree Tops. I just love this color combo... Lavender Moon, Harvest Gold, Berry Sorbet and Dried Marigold Ranger Distress Ink. Finished the card off with a sentiment and clear rhinestones. As soon as I laid eyes on this next stamp set, Baby Face, I knew I needed to recreate a fun pattern I had found previously. I've been saving it for inspiration via Pinterest here.Stamped a random pattern (onto a die cut Wine Bottle Tag) using the tiny images and then touched up with a few Copic markers. Finished the card off with a sentiment tag.Last but not least, Tag Sentiments. I began this card by stamping a border of butterflies (from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set), along the card edge, in a color combo of Hawaiian Shores, Spring Rain and New Leaf. Then trimmed the card edge, following the stamped butterflies, to create a super cool effect. Then finished it off with the sentiment tag. Well, that's all of them! Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Teams fabulous projects as well... The Papertrey Ink team is back again today with a couple of new things to show you that will be released this month on the 15th, the Desktop Design stamps and dies! My favorite thing about this set is this adorable little typewriter. It actually has a tiny piece of paper that you can stamp a saying on and slide into the slot! So cute! I stamped the background with this set also. Kept this one a little bit on the simpler side with just a small focal point in the center. Thank You card: STAMPS: Desktop Design INK: Tropical Teal, True Black, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Aqua Mist by Papertrey Ink, and Soft Granite by Hero Arts PAPER: white DIES: Desktop Design OTHER: none. ______ On the next card, I added a few more steps with die cutting the desk and changing out the sentiment. You know how when you were younger, the teacher would stamp little sayings in red on your paper? I tried to recreate that look by stamping the "teacher" in red ink on the background notebook paper that I made. :) Teacher, Happy Birthday card: STAMPS: Desktop Design INK: Tropical Teal, True Black, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Aqua Mist by Papertrey Ink, and Soft Granite by Hero Arts PAPER: white, Aqua Mist by PTI, red polka dot by Crate Paper DIES: Desktop Design OTHER: chipboard stars - Studio Calico. ______ This stamp set will work for secretaries, bosses, co-workers, friends, miss you cards, and hello cards as well as teacher cards! Hello and welcome to day 8 of the Papertrey Ink anniversary festivities! Today I'm excited to share with you samples using the new Blue Skies collection by Betsy Veldman! Blue Skies in not only an amazing stamp set, but a few other fun products were created to coordinate with it perfectly!... Blue Skies stamp set & dies Cover Plate: Blue Skies die Cover Plate: Blue Skies Rays die Find more info on these products on the Papertrey Ink blog. Let me get right to it... First up, a little something for those times when we forget. The "birthday" is from the new Swoosh stamps set. Everything else is from Blue Skies! The air plane was rolled into both blueberry sky and enchanted evening inks. The planes contrail was created using the "birthday" sentiment from Swoosh, I simply tweaked the ends as I applied it onto my acrylic block. Finished the card off with a strip of Luxe Gold cardstock and enamel dots. This bright little number utilized the extra long triangle image. Instead of creating sun rays with it, I stamped a cool rainbow! The clouds were cut using the Blue Skies dies, from the new pattern vellum pack. A little trick... the dimensional adhesive was hidden behind the white cardstock pieces. This one's sure to brighten any gloomy day. I used the new Cover Plate: Blue Skies and Cover Plate: Blue Skies Rays dies. The Luxe Gold cardstock really shines as it peeks out from the die cut polka dot vellum. Birds and sentiment from Blue Skies stamp set. I used the extra long triangle die, included in the Blue Skies die set, to die cut strips from Luxe gold cardstock and the Watercolor Wonder paper pad. Topped them off with a "thanks" from the Swoosh stamp set and some cream baker's twine. Finishing things off today with a card centered around one of the new Luxe Foil Gold papers. I carefully masked off a portion of the circle to allow me to stamp a butterfly within the gilded circle. The butterfly was created using images from both Beautiful Butterflies and Beautiful Butterflies Layers. I touched up the butterfly wings with a bit of Wink of Stella clear and then stretched a Swoosh sentiment across the front. Check out that shimmer! I'm loving all the shimmer I've had to share with you today! Well, that concludes my look at the Blue Skies stamp set & dies, Cover Plate: Blue Skies die and Cover Plate: Blue Skies Rays die. And of course a few samples of my new lineup for the month... Swoosh, Beautiful Butterflies Layers and Watercolor Wonder paper pad. Just remember... the products you've seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning February 15th. I'd love to know what you think of today's creations. The Rosie Posie set has been on my mind lately, so this morning I played around with it a bit and combined the roses with the Doily Details die onto Fine Linen cardstock. I used Pure Poppy, Melon Berry and Simply Chartreuse for the flowers and leaves. They were cut out with the Rosie Posie dies. The hexagons were stamped and embossed with white embossing powder...and they look pretty just like this, but when you stamp the smaller hexagon onto Fine Linen patterned paper and cut them out, they add such a nice contrast to the white centers and really make the hexagons pop! Sending a Big Thank You card: STAMPS: Rosie Posie, A Big Thank You INK: Fresh Snow, Dark Chocolate, Classic Kraft, Pure Poppy, Melon Berry, Simply Chartreuse PAPER: Fine Linen and white cardstock, Fine Linen Patterned Paper DIES: Rosie Posie, Doily Details OTHER: corner rounder. ------------ Here I stamped the thank you on vellum and laid it over a Doily Details die cut. I had stamped a Rosie Posie rose on the die cut with Pure Poppy ink before attaching the vellum over top. It's very subtle, but peeks through and adds a nice touch! The vellum is layered over Fine Linen patterned paper and attached with twine. I don't think I'll EVER get tired of the Rosie Posie set, it's so pretty and can be used for so many occasions! Sending You Thanks card: STAMPS: Rosie Posie, A Big Thank You INK: True Black, Pure Poppy PAPER: white cardstock, Fine Linen Patterned Paper, vellum DIES: Doily Details OTHER: twine from The Twinery, corner rounder, hole punch.

Welcome to Day 3 of Group Posts for the May Papertrey Ink Release. Today is my favorite. It's because this new kit is my favorite. It's called Make it Market: Sunshine and Rainbows. I do love all things rainbow! :) For this first card, I used a stencil form the kit to create that super fun background. I started at the heart with Pure Poppy, then next blended it out with Orange Zest and finished off the sunrise with Harvest Gold... I cut the wine bottle tag out of vellum and heat embossed parts of the sentiments in white embossing powder. I cut the "sunshine" out of yellow fun foam and then a layer of cardstock and another layer of white adhesive label....backwards....so I would cover the top in glitter. Next, I added in some little mini hears I cut out of the Tremendous Tags and Tiny Tags dies. This card was created using the rainbow stencils from the kit. I added the color of each bow, which by the way is so easy with this 2 step stencil, and then sponged in some white ink for the clouds. I added some embossing powder in and then embossed the clouds and then added in the sentiment. I finished the card off with some sequins. So glad you stopped in for today's peaks. Tomorrow the Papertrey Ink Release will be live so I hope you are ready to shop! Thanks so much for coming by today!
Welcome back to another Papertrey Ink countdown post. We are here to share with you the new Meadow Greens stamp set and dies. Working with this set really made me long for fall. Crisp air, digging out the boots and sweaters, hot apple cider, pumpkin picking! But this set can be used for so much more than that. First, we were to pick out an inspiration piece that inspires us...I loved the colors in this one. (Oh Hello Friend blog) I used it as my starting point with Harvest Gold, Canyon Clay, and Finen Linen inks. (Added one more color later on.) I stamped the leaves falling down the edge of my card. The sentiment is done in Dark Chocolate. Last, a leaf was die cut with Melon Berry cardstock and stamped with Melon Berry ink. I love to layer images with stamps. The sentiment looks cute over the stamped leaf and really creates dimension. Your Kindness card: STAMPS: Meadow Greens INK: Fine Linen, Harvest Gold, Canyon Clay, Melon Berry, Dark Chocolate inks PAPER: Rustic Cream, Smokey Shadow and Classic Kraft cardstock DIES: Meadow Greens dies OTHER: Twine, Boutique Accessories (flower) -------- My second project was inspired by this scrapbooking layout. (Ali Edwards) I love the white on kraft with the darker type. I used the Queen Anne's Lace image in Fresh Snow ink and embossed them. Classic Kraft ink is used for the stems. The finished piece was then backed with Sweet Blush paper and a patterned paper stripe from my stash, adding some seam binding and buttons/twine. Sending Prayers card: STAMPS: Meadow Greens INK: Fresh Snow, Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate inks PAPER: Rustic Cream, Sweet Blush cardstock DIES: none OTHER: pinking shears, seam binding, buttons, twine. -------- I hope you liked these projects.
