It's day 3 of the countdown and today I once again have three cards to share. I'm telling you, this release is so good, I just found myself wanting to make extra! The new Love to Layer Ornament die set is one of my favorites! I made two cards featuring the large ornament that you can create with this set. This is an A2 sized card and as you can see the ornament is large! The set includes the main ornament base and topper plus layers to decorate. Because this ornament is so big, it could easily stand alone and be used as a tag or an actual ornament on the tree. There's also a new Into the Blooms set called Christmas Sprigs. This set is perfect when you want to add little berries or sprigs of greenery like I've done at the top of the ornament. I die cut from white card stock and used Distress Oxide inks to color - Rustic Wilderness, Evergreen Bough, & Crushed Olive. For the background I used a stencil from last year, Spectacular Snowflakes, and some Nuvo Sea Sprite Glacier Paste. For this next card, I used one of the Christmas Sprigs dies to create a little wreath on the ornament. I love the size of this ornament! It allows for so many different ways to decorate and add embellishments. I adhered three layers of the ornament base together to make it very sturdy then added to the card with a low tack adhesive. This way the recipient can easily remove the ornament and hang on their tree. I've embellished the wreath with candy canes from the Ornament Cloche stamp set. I also added little red pearls and a twine bow. The background was made with the Watercolor Plaid stencils. Finally for today here's this month Psalm Reflections. There's also a coordinating die that creates a delicate frame for the Psalm. I die cut mine from silver glitter card stock. I again used some of the Christmas Sprigs dies to embellish the frame. The berry sprig die from the set is one layer so I used Copic Markers to color the stem brown and the berries red. I also used Copics to add some light shading onto the large white berries. The background you see peeking out was made with the ever popular Exquisite Cover Plate die. I use this one a lot when I need something decorative but not too distracting. Hello and welcome back to our final Release In Review post for the January Papertrey Ink release. All of the products you have been seeing over the past few days will be available at the Papertrey Ink online store tonight at 10:00pm EST! So much goodness!! This is going to be a long one! I have so much to show! Since I didn't get my butterflies dies in time for the first group post, they also have been added to my post today. I am in love with this new release... seriously!! I'm going to start with my butterfly cards! This one is using the new Bitty Butterflies stamp set and Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate. I cut one cover plate out with the chocolate brown card stock , then I stamped each of the butterflies in different colors. I added a small piece of Scor tape to the back of each one then inserted them back into the cutout spaces and bent them slightly so they would stand out. I stamped the sentiment and added it with foam tape. Bitty Butterflies Cover Plate Card STAMPS: Bitty Butterflies DIES: Cover Plate: Bitty Butterflies PAPER: Stamper’s Select, Dark Chocolate INK: Dark Chocolate, Limeade Ice,Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Hibiscus Burst, Aqua Mist *** And this one was created with Dawn's new Enclosed: Butterfly stamp set and dies. I used some of the Stars & Scribbles paper for my background. I cut the back of the butterfly out of some watercolored paper and glued three layers of the overlay on top. I glued a tiny strip of the Ombre Striped paper along the bottom edge, then added the embossed sentiments with foam tape. Enclosed Butterfly Card STAMPS: Enclosed: Butterfly, DIES: Enclosed: Butterfly PAPER: Smokey Shadow card stock, Stamper’s Select, Stars & Scribbles Paper Pack, Ombre Stripes paper pack INK: Versa Mark *** For this one I used the new Cover Plate: Butterflies. Such a beautiful die! I watercolored some paper for the background. I cut the butterfly cover plate out of Stamper's Select white card stock and glued that down over the watercolor paper. I took the background pieces of white and went around the edges with my Copic makers, making tiny dots to make the butterflies stand out. The sentiment was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. Butterfly Cover Plate Card STAMPS: Bitty Butterflies DIES: Cover Plate: Butterfly Die, Tag Sale: Quilted PAPER: Stamper’s Select INK: Versa Mark This card uses the new Keep It Simple: Baby and Tucked In: Baby stamp sets along with a previously released stamp set called Baby Button Bits. I also used the Tag Sale: Quilted die with some Lovely Lady Patterned paper to layer everything on. And on the inside I stamped one of the sweet sentiments from Tucked In: Baby. I stamped some little leaves from Turning A New Leaf stamp set and added a little flower from Bitty Button Stacks. Happy New Baby Card STAMPS: Tucked In: Baby, Keep It Simple: Baby, Baby Button Bits, Turning a New Leaf DIES: Baby Button Bits, Bitty Button Stacks, Button Stacks II, Tag Sale Quilted, Scene It: Basic Backer PAPER: Stampers Select, Lovely Lady + White Basics, Ombre Stripes paper pack INK: Stormy Sea, True Black *** This card features the beautiful new Bold Blossoms stamp set from Dawn Mcvey. Dawn does the most beautiful flower sets! I just love this one! I added lots of little details to the flowers and leaves with my Copic markers. You can see all of my details here in this close up. I even added a few green dots on the card itself in the background. That was kind of scary since I had finished the whole card before I did those! I so hoped that I wouldn't mess it up! Bold Blossoms Card STAMPS: Bold Blossoms DIES: Bold Blossoms PAPER: Stamper’s Select, Lovely Lady + White Paper collection INK: Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, Summer Sunrise, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avacado *** And for my last project I used three new products coming out tonight: Thanks Coach, Go For The Goal, and Pennant Flag Dies. Both of my kids played soccer when they were young. Neither one of them were any good at all, but boy did we have fun going to the games and watching them play! My little boy, who is not so little anymore, had a purple uniform, so I made my card in the colors of his team. Such fun memories :) I stacked the sentiments for dimension and I added the stars from Betsy's Scene It: Celebration to the background. I also stamped the Go For The Goal sentiment on the banner for a little visual interest ;) Coach Card STAMPS: Go For The Goal DIES: Go For The Goal, Scene It: Celebration, Joyful Christmas, Thanks Coach, Pennant Flag Dies PAPER: Stamper’s Select, Winter Wisteria, Soft Stone INK: Royal Velvet, Winter Wisteria, Smokey Shadow I want to thank you all so much for stopping by over the past few days for the Papertrey Ink countdown and for all of the nice comments you have left for me. They sure make me smile! :) Remember all of the new products will be available at Papertrey Ink tonight at 10:00 PM EST! Hello and welcome to day 1 of the June release countdown from Papertrey Ink! This is such a fun release just jam-packed with all things summer and travel; you're going to fall in love! My first card is actually a card and gift card holder all in one! I used the adorable new Go-T0 Gift Card Holder: Beach Bag and all of the adorable accessories for this card! As much as I love all things bright and tropical for summer, I just couldn't resist doing something a little more sophisticated for this project. I chose Kraft, black, white, and aqua for my color scheme to keep things consistent! I also used the new Just Sentiments: Days of Summer sentiment set to accent this card; I absolutely love using flip-flops in my summer crafting and so I was thrilled to use this cute sentiment! You can see how the bag opens up so you can slide a gift card into the die cut slots; I chose Baskin Robins because it's the perfect summer treat! My next card features the adorable new Tuck It: Travel stamp/die set. I am absolutely smitten with all of the cute images included in this set; I mean, come on, a tiny Big Ben and Eiffel Tower? Absolutely adorable!!!! I actually stamped two of everything so you might see these cute images on another card before the countdown is over! ha ha! I chose to use ALL of the images and tucked them into the previously released slot that was die cut using the Tuck It Sentiment dies. I had so much fun putting this card together....now...who is going on an adventure???? ha ha! Thanks for fluttering by!

Ink To Paper April 17, 2020 Hi Friends! Have you seen the Challenge at Ink To Paper for Project Reach Out? The challenge for this week is called Keep Swimming. You have until April 22nd to enter, so I
Today is release day, in which the Papertrey Ink team posts all of their creations with the new products that are up for sale today (the 15th of each month)! Let's get started! The first card is made with the new Flipping Out stamp set and little Flipping Out die! Are these not "flippin" adorable! You can die cut the flip flops and add little flowers and hearts to embellish them. Oh, so cute. On the close-up, you can see I added some dimension to the tops of the flip flops by popping them up with dimensional adhesive. I used a border die as the "sand" and stuck the flip flops in the sand! This one is a quickly stamped card. These would both be great for a teacher to wish them a happy summer vacation! I stamped the flip flops as if they were walking. The "happy summer" is stamped with Classic Kraft ink, and I thought Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz and Harvest Gold were summery colors to go with the theme! Flip Flop cards: STAMPS: Flipping Out INK: Harvest Gold, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, True Black, Classic Kraft PAPER: Raspberry Fizz cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock, white, Hawaiian Shores cardstock, Aqua Mist patterned paper, Summer Sunrise patterned paper DIES: Flipping Out, Edgers #4 (scallop) OTHER: Embroidery Floss, pearls. ---------------- Next, I used the Chevron Die and Think Big Favorites # 16 stamps. There are two different ways I came up with to use the chevrons! 1. You can cut the large one from cardstock and layer it with the smaller chevron cut from patterned paper for a neat look like this: 2. You can also off-set the top chevron layer just slightly (the smaller one) like I did here to create an argyle look! Many fun things to be made with the chevron dies! I can't wait to play more with these. Really addicted to chevron these days. Chevron cards: STAMPS: Think Big Favorites #16 INK: Dark Chocolate PAPER: white, Canyon Clay, Aqua Mist and Kraft cardstock, Summer Sunrise patterned paper, Classic Kraft patterned paper, Aqua Mist patterned paper DIES: Chevron Stripe Borders OTHER: pearls, corner rounder. ---------------- This card uses the new Fillable Frames Sentiments. I went crazy with stars here and stitched them down with my machine. The patterned papers I used here are Aqua Mist, new Fine Linen and new Summer Sunrise patterned paper. Celebrate Good Times card: STAMPS: Fillable Frames Sentiments INK: Dark Chocolate PAPER: Aqua Mist, Summer Sunrise, Fine Linen patterned papers, Classic Kraft cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock DIES: none OTHER: Fiskars star punch ---------------- This card is made with the Framed Out #4 stamp set. I cut two of the frames with the Framed Out #4 die from the Autumn Abundance patterned paper and stamped some of the frames with Simply Chartreuse ink. With Gratitude card: STAMPS: Framed Out #4 INK: True Black, Melon Berry, Simply Chartreuse PAPER: Autumn Abundance Patterned Paper, Fine Linen Patterned Paper (tan heart and stripe background), white cardstock DIES: Framed Out #4 OTHER: Snow Day die cuts (orange heart) by Pink Paislee, pearls, seam binding. ---------------- This card is made with the new Happy Hydrangeas stamp set and dies. I cut out the hydrangea and saved the negative cut out (white cardstock piece), then stamped the die cut piece with new Winter Wisteria ink and Simply Chartreuse for the stem. I layered the die cut over the negative and popped it up with dimensional adhesive! Love this look! For a soft background, I chose the Background Basics: Medallion circles and stamped them with new Soft Stone ink. The gray and purples are really pretty together. Happy Mother's Day card: STAMPS: Happy Hydrangeas INK: Winter Wisteria, Soft Stone, True Black, Simply Chartreuse PAPER: Winter Wisteria, white cardstock DIES: Happy Hydrangeas die, Simple Circles die (top border) OTHER: pearl. ---------------- Last a fun card with the Heart-2-Heart #4 stamp set. I die cut the phone with the Heart-2-Heart #4 die and used the sentiments and heart from the set also. I wanted to try a tone-on-tone look. (No pun intended!) I made a little cord from twine and added the hearts to kind of gave the look of the phone ringing! Hello Sweet Friend card: STAMPS: Heart-2-Heart #4 INK: Aqua Mist, Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, True Black PAPER: Aqua Mist Patterned paper, Aqua Mist cardstock, Harvest Gold cardstock DIES: Heart-2-Heart #4, Limitless Layers 3.5" Oval OTHER: pearl, twine. ---------------- All of these fun products are available today at Papertrey Ink on the main web page. As promised, here is some inspiration for Father's Day and masculine cards! I'm in love with this new Hats Off to Dad stamp/die set! It's such a fun and easy set to use and it's just perfect for all kinds of occasions! The hat die could be used for feminine cards as well, not just masculine! This card also features the new Perfect Stripes Stencil collection; I know I will be using these a lot! To begin, I stenciled the background using Spring Rain and Classic Kraft onto Vintage Cream cardstock. I added some Classic Kraft ink around the edges and then set it aside. I die cut the main pieces of the hat from Kraft and then the front patch from Spring Rain. I added some Dark Chocolate around the perimeter of the hat and Kraft around the Spring Rain patch. The "professional dad" sentiment is from the Hats Off to Dad stamp set and the sentiments at the bottom are from the new Father's Day Sentiments stamp/die set. I used some Bitty Big: Kraft paper to layer over the stenciled panel. I die cut the largest piece in the Reflections: April die set. I layered the Dark Chocolate strip, which was die cut using the Love to Layer: Decorative Bracket dies over the top and then added the hat. I accented the bottom with additional sentiments. The Father's Day Sentiments stamp set also includes some options for the inside of your cards. My second card for today, and the last of the release, uses the new Argyle Stencil collection paired with another sentiment from the Father's Day Sentiments. I also snuck in another strip from the Love to Layer: Decorative Brackets die set; I love how the stitched detail looks with the Argyle! I used the medium and smallest sized die cuts from the Reflections: April die set as a mat for the tree, from the Towering Trees stamp set. I love all of the sentiments in the Father's Day Sentiments, but I chose this fun one to accent this card. This concludes my projects for today and for the release! Everything will be available for purchase tomorrow night at 10 PM ET! Thanks for fluttering by!

It's the fourth and final day of the Papertrey Ink May release countdown! I'm so in love with this new Suited For Summer stamp/die set! It's so absolutely adorable and I had so much fun using it on three projects I’m sharing today! This card was inspired by some art pieces that I saw on Etsy and couldn't wait to translate the idea onto a card! These swimsuits are just SOOOO much fun and SOOO cute and vintage-y! We have been invited to a wedding this summer and I just HAD to make their wedding card using this fun sentiment! I used the same paper pad as my picnic card I shared the other day and a few leftover geraniums. This is also a larger card; the blue pattern panel is the size of an A2 size card for reference! Not only is there this darling stamp set, but there is also a Suited For Summer Stencil Collection! I used it for the background! I ended up covering up the cutest bathing suit on the stenciled panel so I opted to just recreate the same suit for the focal piece! The foiled panel was done using the new Shoreline Finds Hot Foil Plate. My next card shows more of it, but for this card I liked the subtle gold detail. I also used the new Into the Blooms: Violets (also not purple) ha ha! to give the card some tropical vibes! You can see how awesome the Shoreline Finds Hot Foil Plate is on this card. I decided to create my own 'shoreline finds' by adding some Summer Shells and greenery! I heat embossed the sentiment on Berry Sorbet cardstock and added it to the bottom of the foiled panel. The Hello sentiment is die cut three times and glued together and is from the Pro Stamper's Box from March. My final card for today also features the new Suited For Summer stamp set. All of these darling bathing suits are so fun to use! I chose to create a fun poolside scene, using quite a few of the different bathing suit styles To begin, I used the pool water stencils that were released a few years ago. I added the postal frame over the top to create a vacation type feeling. Once that was done, I just had fun adding the different bathing suits using foam squares. I added some Nuvo crystal glaze to the sunglasses for some realistic shine. And, I can’t seem to get enough of the shimmer spray for this release, so I added it over the top of the pool water panel. Thanks for fluttering by!

Hello and welcome to the first group post for the June Papertrey Ink Release! The new products you are seeing here will be available in the store at Papertrey Ink on June 15th at 10:00 EST. Today we have some really fun products to share with you from Erin Lincoln! There are two new stamp sets with matching dies, Need For Speed and Road Signed, along with some super cute new stitching dies that coordinate perfectly! On my first card here, I used the Need For Speed stamp set and dies, Road Signed Stamps and dies and the On the Road die. All of these products coordinate so wonderfully together! I cut the road out of Stormy sea card stock, glued that down, and added a strip of True Black card stock and a thin strip of Pure Poppy + White striped paper along the edge. I then stamped the card and road signs and added those with foam tape. I stamped the sentiments in black and Pure Poppy. Now for a boy/guy card, isn't that cute! I actually had a ton of fun putting this together and normally, I'm all about flowers and pink :) I love it when there are neat products that make boy cards fun! STAMPS: Need For Speed, Road Signed DIES: Need For Speed, Road Signed, On The Road Die INK: Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Orange Zest, True Black, Stormy Sea PAPER: Stamper’s Select white, Stormy Sea, True Black, Pure Poppy + White *** Next up is this cute tag which I used the car from the Need For Speed stamp set and the On the Road die, along with the new Keep It Simple: To & From. Makes a great little addition to add to the gift that's going with my card! I used Tag Sale #10 for the tag, and after I cut the On the Road die out, I also ran it through with the Tag die to get the shape right, then glued that right down onto my tag. Added the little car with foam tape and stamped the To and From with True Black ink. STAMPS: Need For Speed, Keep It Simple: To & From DIES: Need For Speed, On The Road Die, Tag Sale Die #10 INK: Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Stormy Sea, True Black PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Stormy Sea OTHER: Baker’s Twine *** And to go with my car themed ensemble, I created a cute key chain with Erin's new Stitched Car die. I stitched the windows and door knobs on first, then layered two of the cars together and stitched those. I added the little loop for the key ring as I was stitching around the outside of the car. I layered two of the wheels together and stitched those on last. I can't help but think how perfect this would be for a teenage boy's birthday who was just turning 16 and perhaps getting his driver's license. You could give him a key to the family car on the key ring! Hey, I have one of those! ;) DIES: Stitched Car FELT: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Smokey Shadow *** Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with a look at more of the amazing new products coming to Papertrey Ink on June 15th, at 10:00 EST! For more amazing inspiration visit the rest of the Papertrey Ink Design team! It's day one of reveals for the June release at Papertrey Ink. We are in full summertime mode with travel, beach vibes, a new flower for the Into the Bloom series plus a new verse in the Psalm Reflection series and more! Today, we are introducing you to Tuck It: Travel stamps and dies + World Map Stencil collection + Go-To Gift Card Holder: Beach Bag dies + Just Sentiments: Days of Summer stamps. Not all the team members received all of the newly released items, so I won't have the beach bag GC holder or the map stencil to show you on a card. Until I can get the map stencil, I substituted an Old World Map stamp that is retired from Stampin' Up and stamped it with Fine Linen ink over Fine Linen card stock. I wanted a very subtle map in the background so it wouldn't distract from the sweet dies in this set. I popped the plane with foam tape so it literally gives a 3D look as if it's truly flying off the card. :-) The dies are very easy to line up and the details are amazing! STAMPS: Tuck It: Travel, Tuck It: Sentiments. INK: Soft Stone, Weathervane, true Black, Summer Sunrise, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Spring Rain, Fine Linen, Honey Nut. PAPER: Fine Linen, True Black, White, Metallic Gold. DIES: Tuck-It: Travel, Tuck-It: Sentiments. OTHER: Old World Map stamp. I don't have the beach bag dies yet, so went with the previously released Summer Shells die set that I love. It goes so well with the awesome summer sentiments in this new set! The base layer was stenciled with a sunny rays stencil (Bright Buttercup ink) then layered with an oval that was color blended lightly using Fine Linen and Hawaiian Shores dye inks by PTI. The photos don't show the shimmery look on the shells like you see in real life. STAMPS: Just Sentiments: Days of Summer. INK: Versafine Clair Nocturne; Bright Buttercup, Aqua Mist, Fine Linen, Sweet Blush, Honey Nut, Hawaiian Shores. PAPER: White, Aqua Mist; Bristol Smooth Surface. DIES: Summer Shells, Shape Shifter Oval 2, Stitched Circle. OTHER: Sunny Rays stencil; Dew drops; Sheer Shimmer craft spray "Sparkle". SUPPLIES That's it for the first day of reveals! Tune back tomorrow for more goodness! ~Wanda
Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink January countdown! Today's group post is all about the new Secret Agent and Zappy Birthday collections! My son, he thinks these are the coolest cards I've ever made! That says a lot about the products featured today. Totally boy approved. Hope you enjoy what I have to share with you today too... First up, Secret Agent. My focus for this first card are the cool shades. These are not your typical glasses. In fact, you can't read the message on this card without them. I've tucked an arm behind the top layer so they're easily accessible. Here's How: All I did was leave a space between the dimensional adhesive I've attached to the backside, these sweet shades slide right in from the top. Another idea would be to cut a slit, wide enough to allow one arm to side on through, at the top edge of your card base. This undercover card was stamped in a color combo of spring rain, orange zest and smokey shadow. Here's a look at Zappy Birthday in action! I combined this set with the Tipped Top die collection. These dies helped me create a sort of a "sneak peek" at a hidden superhero cape underneath the top layer. A mix of patterns, colors and shapes keeps things exciting. Colors used... blueberry sky, pure poppy, spring rain and true black. Well, that concludes my look at the Secret Agent and Zappy Birthday collections. Just remember... these products will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning January 15th. Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today... Good morning, friends! Welcome to the first day of the Papertrey Ink May new release countdown! I have the great pleasure of introducing a couple of additions to the Papertrey family over the next few days. This month brings a follow up to last year's Bowl Of Sunshine stamp set called A Second Helping Of Sunshine (available May 15th) as well as the next in the Text Block series, Text Block: Dad (available May 15th). How about we get on to a couple of projects so you can see these new goodies in action! This first card is a Father's Day card made with the new Text Block: Dad die. I began by stamping a Rustic White card base with Background Basics: Retro and set it aside. Next, I die cut the Text Block: Dad shape from two pieces of wood veneer paper (one had been "stained" with Dark Chocolate ink). I used an inlay technique to build the Text Block on a piece of Kraft cardstock. The contrast is so cool! And the best part? Now I have a second one (in the opposite colors) to make an additional card. Handy! Next, I added foam tape to the back of the Text Block piece and stuck a few flat-head pins through the foam to look like nails. I stuck that down to the prepared card base and went about making my hammer. I die cut the shape from Rustic White cardstock and stamped the handle with Pure Poppy ink. I went back with VersaMark and silver powder to heat emboss the metal head of the hammer. I used a small piece of foam tape to adhere the hammer into position and called it a day. So great for a Mr. Fix-it, wouldn't you say? Next up is A Second Helping Of Sunshine! I started by stamping a piece of Fresh Snow linen cardstock with Background Basics: Super Gingham in Spring Moss ink. I die cut the gingham piece and some Spring Moss with the You've Been Framed: Diamond die and inlaid the patterned piece into a Pure Poppy You've Been Framed shape. I matted that whole panel with a piece of linen cardstock and then adhered the whole thing to a Kraft card base. Next, I die cut and stamped the bowl and cherries using Pure Poppy, Enchanted Evening, Dark Chocolate, and Spring Moss inks. The sentiment was stamped in Enchanted Evening on a Sketched Shapes banner. I adhered that to the card front before adding my bowl of cherries with foam tape. A simple baker's twine bow was the perfect finishing touch. I have one last card to share with you, also made with A Second Helping Of Sunshine. This one is a simple card, but it gets the message across rather well, no? I began by stamping the scale onto a Soft Stone card base using Tropical Teal ink. I added the shadow (from Bowl Of Sunshine) with Aqua Mist that had been stamped off once. Then I added the sentiment above the scale using Smokey Shadow ink. Next, I die cut a circle using the Rattled die and stamped it with the dial and pointer for the scale. I adhered it into place and covered it with an epoxy embellishment I created using Heather's handy tutorial. The result is so lifelike! Just a fun card with a hint of silliness to let someone know that they're on your mind. So that's all for me today, folks. I'll be back again tomorrow with more of this month's new releases. In the meantime, Nichole, Betsy, Dawn, Erin, Maile, and Lexi for more inspiration. Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow! Zonkers! Bam! Zap! Welcome to the first Group Post Day of the Papertrey Ink January 2015 countdown. Geez oh pete's, do we have some super fun stuff for you today with Secret Agent and Zappy Birthday. I've been needing sets like these in my stash. Great for kids, both boys and girls. And masculine cards for the grown ups too. One of the super neat features of Secret Agent is the "secret message" technique you can create with colored transparencies. Here, I filled my stamped and die cut magnifying glass with red transparency. Both the outer frame and "glass" are different dies that work perfectly together for easy assembly. I also used the greenish blue transparency below to cover up all my stamps and seals. This has the same tone and texture as the red glass of the magnifying glass. The "top secret" seal helps hide my adhesive here. I attached my magnifying glass to my project with a red brad. This allows it to pivot on my card.... .... so the recipient (my nephew in this case), can move it to line up with the Soft Stone "shadowed" magnifying glass to red the secret message. The message was stamped in Hawaiian Shores and covered up with the distortion stamp in Pure Poppy. How crazy cool is that?!?!? ADORE this. And my kids can't stop playing with it. The fun continues to the inside of the card. I have our Secret Agent man giving up some of his secrets. I love the "this message will self destruct" sentiment. Fabulous illustrating on Nichole's part here. I flipped when I saw this guy for the first time. Moving on, we have another great set of products by Lexi with the Zappy Birthday Collection. There's a new cover plate that gives your backgrounds a comic book look (so versatile...comic books are just the beginning here) and great paper to go with them. I created by background with the Comic Book Cover Plate and used all the papers. Next, I created a "seal" like all super heroes have on their outfits, but I used a number for a birthday instead. I added the action bubbles from the Zappy Birthday set and die cut the action words with foil paper to give it that super-duper comic look. I was really struggling with adding my "happy" and "birthday" to my project. It's pretty busy already, so I didn't want to add another color or strong element, but I didn't want those words to get lost either. A drop shadow seemed like the perfect solution. I die cut the words twice, once in True Black, the other in Pure Poppy and one on top of the other. The tone on tone of the Pure Poppy on the patterned paper keeps things subtle, and the slight shading of True Black helps it stand out just enough. Mission accomplished! Are you excited as I am about these two sets? FABULOUS stuff. Can't wait to see what everybody else does with them. Everything will be available on the 15th at 10 PM EST in the store. Happy Monday, friends! I had a project featured in the Papertrey Ink newsletter last week, so I thought I'd also share it here and provide a few more details on how I made this card. I have step-by-step photos that should help, too! I'm currently obsessed with die cut and colored flowers, if you haven't noticed, so that was the starting point for today's card. I feel like I do a lot of "flowers framing a sentiment" type cards so I thought I'd change it up and use this cute Country Handbasket Die to fill up with the cute die cut blooms! I die cut it out of Kraft cardstock and then added some shading using Classic Kraft ink and a blender brush for added depth and dimension. I glued the two pieces of the basket together and then got to work cutting and coloring the flowers. All of the flowers used on this card are from the Into the Blooms: Wreath die. I'm currently obsessed with the flowers and have used them on quite a few projects lately, but since I took December off, I haven't actually used the wreath portion included in the dies....I really need to remedy that! I colored the flowers using assorted Distress Oxide inks and finger daubers. I die cut the border using the lovely Border Bling: Scalloped Frame die using Sweet Blush cardstock adn then added some Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink around the edges. I glued it onto a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. I then added a white oval that was cut using the medium-sized oval from the Love to Layer: Ovals Die. I adhered it to the card base using foam squares. I decided AFTER I added the oval which sentiment I wanted to use, but I would suggest stamping it BEFORE , so that you don't have to worry about the foam squares underneath. ha ha! The sentiment is from the Garden Blessings stamp set and I stamped it in black ink. I added some black ink splatter, Moonshine sequins, and glitter. The flowers are arranged using both liquid glue and foam squares. After I color the flowers, I used a foam mat and a stylus to shape the flowers. I didn't shape the pinks ones, though, just the yellow, blue, and white. You could change up the color combination to create something more moody or seasonal depending on what you like! Thanks for fluttering by!
