Welcome to 12 Weeks of Sale-A-Bration here at Song of My Heart! We are throwing our own party alongside Stampin' Up's biggest sale of the year. One of the fun things we're doing is a weekly color challenge, with PRIZES! What's a CASE? Copy and Share Everything! It's an old papercrafter's term that's used to denote when you did not come up with the project or idea (or in our case color combo) entirely by yourself. There's no shame in CASE'ing--in fact, it's the best way to learn! Eventually you'll find yourself branching out, experimenting, and coming up with ideas...
I used the Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Moments stamp set to create my card to share with you today.

Beautiful You, Mediterranean Moments, Sitting Here, Occasions 2017, Combining Stamp Sets, Watercolour Pencils
Good Day Crafty Friends, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE The Mediterranean Moments stamp set, it was inspired by a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Million Sales Achiever - Susan Nygaard. The stunning set consists of four rubber scenery stamps depicting beautiful street scenes and is available in the 2017 Occasions catalogue. I couldn't wait to get this set and I wasn't disappointed! Plus the new Stampin' Up! Water Colour Pencils made it so easy to colour, I can see me needing a new pack soon as I can't stop using them. I masked the lady from the Beautiful You stamp set and then stamped over her with the largest stamp from Mediterranean Moments. Love the scooter parked out the front! The café scene is just adorable and not to mention makes a quick and easy card - die cut using circle framelits with a scalloped border die from the same set, a delicate white doily behind it, placed on a base of Sahara Sand cardstock put through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall TEIF. The scooter stamp looks amazing stamped and coloured in white craft ink - my favie so far. Two strips of black card stock were glued to the Sahara Sand cardstock and then I ran it through the Big Shot using the amazing Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder. This card is in an envelope as we speak and hopefully about to hit my lovely friends letterbox sometime soon. She and her Hubby are going on a three month trip to Europe for her sisters wedding. I love being able to make cards that are relevant to the events in my life and show the person receiving the card that I was thinking of them when I made it. Hope my cards inspire you to get into your craft space and create something you love for someone you love. Happy Crafting xx

A set that jumped out of the new catalogue at me was inspired by $Million sales achiever, Susan Nygaard. We also saw Liz Collett demonstrate some great ideas using this set at #onstagelive. Of course, once I started, I wanted to use all my samples, and another item showcased here is the Stitched Shapes Framelits which have proven so popular they will not be able to be ordered after tomorrow due until sometime in the future, but they will be in the new catalogue in June. First up a card to satisfy the Global Design Project sketch challenge #gdp062. I have gone monochrome, using only Soft Suede against Whisper White. The spots on the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP were made using Soft Suede refill dropped into water, then dipping my aqua painter in and flicking lightly. Of course, I couldn't waste the coloured water, so see below for what else I did. The image was stamped then diecut with the oh so versatile Stitched Shape Framelits. The sketch was landscape, but I have gone portrait, and hope it still fits the rules. The greeting from Jar of Love has been layered onto Soft Suede which I also diecut from the same framelits, just a little bit of tweaking along the way... Next up, a card for a friend who has just purchased her first home after a change in circumstances - I hope it makes her smile. Greeting again from Jar of Love and diecut with the Tags and Labels framelits, Bow from Pretty Pines Thinlits and a few rhinestones to finish. Something calming about this picture, so again you don't need to to put much behind your card as the picture says it all. Image diecut from Stitched Shape Framelits and layered onto scallop from Layering Squares. Greeting from Jar of Love and just a couple of plain strips of Basic Black cardstock for the background. Most people think of the vibrant blues and reds (along with terracotta) when thinking of the Mediterranean, so this card was a bit of a play on that. I believe it is called Spotlighting Technique, and my spotlights were again diecut from the Stitched Shape Framelits. My blue is Island Indigo backed with Real red. Greeting - yes, you guessed it - Jar of Love. The last card to show you was using the leftover water I referred to from the first photo. I watercoloured a piece of Whisper White card, and thought the colour wasn't intense enough, so I just tipped all the water onto it. Of course, that meant waiting for it to dry. So I sped it up with the heatgun, and like how the ink started to separate so it had a soft yellow haze around the edge. I stamped it with my image in Archival Black, then ran it through the Big Shot with Petal Burst TIEF, then I actually shifted it a smidge and ran it through again. I layered that onto Basic Black and now have a fun no occasion card ready to send, or I could pop a greeting on when called for... Here they are all together. Hope you love this set as much as I do, although sorry that you have to wait until January to order it.

Hello Stampers Meet the perfect match Beautiful You and Mediterranean Moment are 2 stamp set that goes perfect together. The watercolor on these card are very simple not much fuzzing about it I c
Hello crafting friends! I've been mucking about with inks and it was FUN! Come and see: I was recently given Stampin' Up's beautiful Mediterranean Moments stamp set (thanks Gill - I love it!) and wondered what I could do with it. I am no painter but I thought I'd stamp the largest image in Stazon black ink on Watercolour paper and then just colour it in with inks and water and see what happened. Well, I really got into the zone! I started off with pale washes and then worked up to adding darker shades of the same colours. When it was dry I added small amounts of detail with a fineliner. You wouldn't want to look too closely but I think it generally looks quite arty! I think this card would work for a guy who likes to travel, and has fond memories of this kind of Mediterranean scene, so I kept it simple by just stamping a birthday greeting directly onto the image... ... and adding a couple of black staples for a bit of manly interest. These are becoming a bit of a favourite embellishment of mine - a craft room staple you could say! In case anyone is interested, I used Stampin' Up inks in these six colours: So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I'm going to link this card up with the Allsorts Challenge where From Boys to Men is the theme this week - they'd like to see masculine cards. AND IN OTHER NEWS My daughter and I were amused to find this in the reduced section at our local supermarket at the weekend: We agreed that nothing says 'party' quite like a collection of salad vegetables that are past their sell-by date! Thanks for visiting me today. What's your favourite party food? (I'm willing to bet that it's not a bit of dilapidated lettuce, tomato and cucumber!) Do let me know in the comments below :)
Over the weekend,I hosted a 'this or that?' question that generated a lot of responses - and I couldn't be happier. If you missed that post, you can see it here. It seems, to me, we are evenly split between punch-lovers and die-lovers. I thought it only fair to share

Stamps: Beautiful You page 24 Occasions 2017 item code 143004 wood 143637 clear, Mediterranean Moments page 29 Occasions 2017 item codes 143188 $28.00 (wood blocks included) • 143191 $20.00 Paper: Floral Boutique item code 141663 page 77 annual catalog Accessories: Stitched Shapes, Navy Bakers Twine For a recent Stamp Share for Leaders group meeting (a local upline/downline leadership meeting) I participated in a 49 person swap. I wanted to use the Mediterranean Moments stamp set. Doing some research of what it really looks like there (since I have yet to go there myself) I found a lot of blues and ceramic tile. That inspired me to figure out how to make my own "tile". I looked through my stash of designer papers to see if I had something that had that Mediterranean feel. The Floral Boutique certainly could pass as some of the tiles. Next I had to figure out how I was going to use that. Squares were definitely the shape to go. I wanted the paper to look like the tile patterns matched. Using quarter inch strips of paper, cut so that they would be easy to lay on my card base, I made a T or X depending on how you look at it, where I would be able to even space my tiles. I did write up with an arrow so that tiles were consistently laid out. The biggest issue was do I pre cut all 49 3" x3" pieces of designer paper? and then try and keep track of order and direction? After playing around with several ideas here is what I came up with: Place Tear & Tape on the back of each piece of designer paper first. Mass assembly. Cut the paper into the smaller squares 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". Keep them in order. Place the paper spacer on my card base. Place the tiles down, diagonally worked best. Pick a corner to start with, do the lower row opposite corner next. Then finish the other two squares. It was slow, but once I got a rhythm, it took a few hours admittedly. But I was making 49 plus extra cards. If we still carried the Crystal Effects, it would have given the tiles a nice glossy finish. I am not sure if I chose random "tiles" if the look would have been the same. Meaning 4 different styles of designer paper for each card. For the stamped image, it was a thousand times easier to cut out the white piece using the Stitched Shapes first, then stamp after, using the Stamp-a-ma-jig. The card stock is nearly cut to the same size as the wood block anyway. That was a super quick step for me. Layering the white stamped piece and the navy piece, as you can see, I drew squares on my work paper, lined up the two pieces and glued together. Super quick to line them up using the outlines. If you have any other questions regarding this technique, please comment below or email me. Thanks! Sandy Thank you for stopping by today! Keep being creative, Sandy
Hi Everyone Thanks for stopping by today. I still can't believe my card was chosen as one of the winners for the last challenge at Global Design Project! You can check out my card and the other winners by clicking the image below. So onto this week's challenge, #GDP078 which is to follow the sketch layout below. Did you see Barry's card entry yesterday? - http://bit.ly/2nKdFf1 I wanted to play with the Watercolour Pencils again and paired it with the Mediterranean Moments stamp set. The cat was meowing at me to be coloured and it kinda reminds me of our Minnie...I think I got carried away colouring this one! Card base is Pool Party, stamped with the hearts from Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set using the 2nd Generation technique in Calypso Coral. Added the Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon under the Brick Wall embossed Smoky Slate card. Then mounted the cat image on Crumb Cake card, finishing the design with a quadruple bow with the Linen Thread. I ended up making a 2nd card for the challenge, changing the orientation of the sketch and using a different image: I did a quick overall wash with the Aqua Painters first, leaving the edges lighter. I'm really please with how this one turned out and loving the Bermuda Bay / Pumpkin Pie combo. I had some off cuts from the previous project of the Crumb Cake card which I embossed with the Woodgrain Folder this time. Stamped the flowers in Soft Sky, again from Perpetual Birthday Calendar set. I trimmed the Burlap Ribbon in half and frayed one end before adding a bow using Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine. What do you think and which one do you prefer? Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you like my projects for the #GDP078 sketch challenge. My mom is 90 years old and still loves to craft. She needs more help now, but I love when she comes down to my studio. She needed a card for a friend who is having surgery tomorrow. She finally settled on Mediterranean Moments. We stamped it on vellum card stock and used Watercolor Pencils to add color. We actually colored and blended the back side of the vellum piece. That was about all she could handle today but I think it turned out great! Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and I have a theme challenge for you. I know I've said this before, but Nance does an amazing job with our badges every week and this week is no exception :-) I needed a birthday card for my bestie, Pammie. Pammie is always made up, nails done, clothing just right - so I thought this Beautiful You set would be perfect, especially paired with the Mediterranean Moments in the background. Pammie has already received her card, so it's safe to show you all:-) I...
