Today's card was designed using the Kind Eclectic and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets. I love to design a fun card and send them to those who love and appreciate them most, my Stampin' Up! Friends and Customers.
Today's card was actually a CASE of a card that I fell in love with, but can't for the life of me remember where I saw it. (If the card was yours, thank you for the beautiful inspiration!) I loved this card so much that I decided to make it into a set of 4. It was honestly very easy to create and it only took the one stamp set. The only thing that took a little time was cutting out all of the butterflies. (I don't have the punches yet, but they are on my wish list!) Stamps: Kinda Eclectic Ink: Crumb Cake, Basic Black Paper: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White Accents: Pearls
We at the Stamp Review are pleased to feature the fabulous stamp set Kinda Eclectic for you this round! I love that it has so many great individual stamps. They all work very well together, and when used separately, and with other stamp sets. It truly is an eclectic set :) As always, if you get lost along the way, you can always find the right links on the official Stamp Review blog, and click here for the post for this hop. If you have missed any of the past hops, be sure to go to the official Stamp Review Crew site and catch up! If you are following along in order, then you just came from Wendy Weixler's blog. Isn't she amazing?! I am #6 on this hop, so let's go see what I came up with :) How about a wreath of greens is some slightly funky colors. I wanted to try it in mints and aquas as those seem to be quite popular right now. The pearls are colored with the darkest Old Olive Blenda. For the mint color I used Pistachio Pudding, and the aqua is Pool Party. The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow. I added a couple of the branches of leaves on the inside of the card, and some more white gel pen, of course! Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog These 2 purples just called to me when I was making this card. I have had a little idea paper taped to my stamping area for this card for about a month now and I finally made this card just hours before the deadline before this hop! You can just make out the sentiment in the picture here, but it is much more visible in real life. I added a couple of butterflies to the inside also. Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog I featured this set in another blog hop back in June and thought I would share a couple of the cards I made for that hop. Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog I just love this card. I ended up giving it to a sweet young lady who agreed to watch our pet rabbit for a week on short notice. I had completely forgot to make arrangements for little miss Chai Tea Leaf while we stayed at a cabin on vacation! Yes, my bohemian daughter named this rabbit. The cat she got a couple years later got named Rasta Punkin.... The bunny sitter told me it was the most beautiful card she had every received and immediately hung it on her fridge :) And no, she isn't a stamper, lol! Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog That's all for me folks, time to head over to Debra Currier's blog to see the magic she whipped up!

Hi Stampers, Happy Tuesday friends ! This card looks like illusion to me, but really all I did was stamp the center of the card with the leaf and the dots from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set
The sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog this week is pretty straight-forward, right? But the thing is with these "minimalist" sketches, they're deceivingly hard. Well, for me, anyway. It's hard to know when you've got just the right balance between image, color, and embellishments. I started off with the sunburst from the "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set and plopped it right at the top/middle of a Whisper White panel. (I can't tell you how thrilled I was--thrilled, I tell ya--that the image came out in the perfect spot!!) And then I stared and stared at that big Hello Honey sunburst for quite a while. I knew the sketch had a horizontal stripe at the bottom. Add DSP? Nothing seemed quite right. A row of stamped images? That's a recipe for an alignment nightmare. Since I was planning to mount the Whisper White panel on a Mossy Meadow panel and then onto a Hello Honey card, I pulled out the Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon and used both as my horizontal piece. But that big, ol' Hello Honey starburst kept staring back at me! I took a deep breath and stamped the sentiment right on top, hoping for another miracle that the image would be in just the right spot. It's not quite--but it's close enough for government work a wonderfully hand-stamped card! I added a row of Basic Rhinestones, but I thought the card needed a little something else. I inked up the smallest butterfly image in Blackberry Bliss and stamped it off a couple of times for one butterfly and then stamped the second one (4th generation). I like that the butterfly came out a little smudgy--it looks like it was water-colored...a happy accident. (Stamp Set: Kinda Eclectic; Inks: Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss; Card Stock: Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White; Accessories: Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Bitty Butterfly Punch)
Hello! Happy Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week! I am loving summer holidays! They couldn't have come soon enough! I am very sorry that I haven't been posting much. Our church's summer camp is next week and my friend and I are in charge of the card making elective so I have been going crazy getting projects ready for camp! Now all my "stuff" is packed up and I'm not sure when (or how!) I'll make my next card! We have a great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches today! Cindy Lovell has created a beauty for us! Cindy is so incredibly talented and creates the most amazing cards! I could spend hours looking at her blog! I had a few minutes to open the my box of goodies from the new catalogue. I love the "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set. It's so fun to work with and of course I love the butterflies! I couldn't wait to work with it! I saw this evil circle on the sketch and knew right away what I would do! Take that circle element!!!! I tried different "banners" with a sentiment on it but nothing worked. I decided I would try stamping directly on some natural ribbon. I flipped the chevron ribbon over and voila! It suited the card better than anything else I had tried! Supplies: Cardstock: Whisper White Stamps: Kinda Eclectic, Another Thank You Ink: Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Pool Party Other: Chevron Natural Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Small Butterfly Punch Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please make sure you check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog! The Design Team has once again created some amazing cards! I am so fortunate to be working with such a creative bunch! Have a fabulous day! Jen
Happy Monday, peeps! We had a glorious weekend, weather-wise, but it makes me nervous, having these 60+ temps in February! We're bound to pay for it somewhere along the line! I had a little stamping time yesterday and made my third sympathy card for the week using the sketch from Paper Craft Crew: I hadn't used this detailed floral image from the SAB set Avant Garden, so I paired it with some Floral Boutique papers for my creation: It seems as if I have a lot going on here....lace, leaves, florals....but I hope it all works together. I chose Night of Navy as a monochromatic hue. Thanks for popping in today! Since I got a membership to Longwood Gardens (check out their website here) for Christmas and hadn't used it yet, I asked my SIL to go with me yesterday; the weather was so nice, I think every other person in the tri-state area had the same thought---it was packed! They have an orchid display right now, so there were orchids everywhere! This was an orchid wall in the lobby; then an arch of orchids in the conservatory: A reflecting pool and hanging baskets in the conservatory, and some ground cover florals: This doorway was covered in orchids above....it's hard to capture how big it is: A beautiful way to spend a February afternoon! Enjoy your day and be blessed! Be sure to stop back tomorrow for our Stamp Ink Paper challenge, too! HI Everyone The Kinda Eclectic stamp set that I used to create today’s card has been in the 2014-2015 catalogue since the summer. How on earth did I not buy it before last week? To be fair,…
Kinda Eclectic was a late pick for me, mainly because the samples I saw it used on were on the clean and simple side – not my style! Well, my card will show you that it does take very well to layers and embellishments!! I went to the newest In Colors and threw in some Cherry Cobbler. ... CONTINUE READING

I get SO inspired each and every time!! I have seen a LOT of "spring-y" stuff done with this gorgeous set ... it was actually the very first number ONE set on my list as soon as I saw the new catalog this past year. Sending flowers and sunshine to all of you on the east coast bracing for a blizzard this weekend. We could use some of that snow around here - not a good storm in sight! Long ago when my dad and I were visiting prospective colleges we headed for Oswego, NY where the college is located directly on Lake Ontario. As we entered town snow started falling and by the time we got to campus the wind was blowing sideways off the lake and you could hardly see. That was the first time I met Lake Effect Snow! We were not dressed for blizzard conditions so there was no campus tour that day - just a meeting in the admissions office where life was going on as usual. Later as we left campus my dad looked at me and said, "You're going to go here aren't you?" Yes I was..... I don't remember one thing that admissions guy said to me but I do remember watching that swirling snow coming in off the lake! I was hooked! Meanwhile Emma is bundled up for school today - she likes school because Miss Bobbi Jo is showing them how to use "cutters" - sounds waaaaay more interesting than scissors...... I love Maggie's sketch at Pals Paper Arts this week with its panel slightly askew! Stamp Sets Used: Hello, Kinda Eclectic, Pretty Thankful, Holly Jolly Greetings Ink: Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss, Mellow Moss
One of the stamp sets we got for free at Convention was a new one called "Kinda Eclectic". And I think its going to be one of my favourites this year. In particular I love the large sun-type image… I think it looks great in the background and I like the various images collaged together. Very effective, for not a lot of effort. I've been playing with it a bit this week and it just seems to work, no matter what I do with it :-) I used some new DSP on this card too ("Flashback"), and you can see 3 out of the 5 new Incolors on this one as well. The colours I used are Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, and Mossy Meadow. (And there's a bit of Crumb Cake thrown in too). The ribbon is also new.. the Stitched satin ribbon in Hello Honey :-) Its a simple card.. but I like how it came together….
Sometimes it feels like I spend too much time fussing over card designs. I originally created this card with a horizontal layout. After sitt...

Today at SSINK we are highlighting the many ways to use the Kinda Eclectic stamp set. This is one of the sets we received at the 2014 Inspire. Create. Share. Convention in Salt Lake City, which we then used to create a couple of make n takes while there. This set definitely will have to keep growing on me as I continue to use it, but I am up for the challenge! To get my creative juices flowing for this card, I used Retro Sketches #126 along with the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #191. Updated 8-12-14 Thank you Hand Stamped Sentiments for choosing my card as one of your picks!! I just loved the blues, purple, and green in the inspiration collage! Ever since we received this stamp set at Convention back in May, I knew it was destined to become a Stamp-a-Stack. I don't usually go for overly "arty" sets and I think this one treads the balance between arty and pretty very well. The images are very forgiving too, and seem to look good no matter what you do with them (gotta love that!).
