Hello, Sweet Friends!! It's time for another blog hop from the Sweet N Sassy Stamps team where we will share our hearts and inspiration featuring our October release! It's a good one, my friends!! If you haven't started from the very beginning, now would be a good time to do that. I'm sharing the whole hop list to make it easier and to make sure you don't miss any of the inspiration! Sweet 'n Sassy Blog Julee Tilman Cathy McCauley Ceal Pritchett Diane Zechman Jane Bosi (you are here) Lee Ann Barrett Lucinde van Ballegooijen Lyn Tomlin Wayyy back in 2016, I made my first Rolodex card featuring the Sweet N Sassy Stamps set His Wings (I still love that set!). Little did I know then this would be the next great wave in Creative Worship! Armed with a few new rolodex dies (Heidi Swapp), and Fall in Love with Jesus, I am all in for this new stampy trend! I love the smaller format and, especially, the focus I've decided to use to store my favorite scriptures! The back of this faith-dex card bears the scripture from Jeremiah 31:3 "the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." For this non-traditionally colored Thanksgiving card, I've combined the leafy elements from Fall in Love with Jesus and a sentiment from So Grateful. I used a distress ink technique to add color directly to each image, then spritzed with water to create a loose water colored look. Finally, I used those same leafy images along with Rhubarb's Harvest, Texture Tiles 1 and the Chunky Alphabet to adorn this page in my hymnal. The colorful background was created by dragging different colors of oxide inks across the page. Simple, colorful--makes me happy! You'll save 15% all month on all of the sets in our Autumn catagory--check those out here! And, have yourself a great, inky day and enjoy the inspiration shared in our hop! Be sure to leave a comment at each stop for a chance to WIN a $10 gift code for the SNSS store! The next stop is Lee Ann's fabulous blog--enjoy! TTFN--Jane
Today I have some AMAZING projects for you using the new GRACE SO AMAZING set. My first project is a clean and simple watercolor/stenciled background using Distress Oxides and a music stencil. This was actually created after I created one of the 2nd project cards. There was leftover ink on the stencil so I spritzed it with water and pressed it onto some watercolor paper. When it was dry, I used the same ink to stamp my sentiment - lyrics from Amazing Grace. It seemed perfect with that background. I die cut with a rounded die, then added some clear drops. My second project is a set of Faith-dex cards I created for a Faith-dex swap on the SNSS Creative Worship Facebook page. I used the music stencil and Distress Oxide (Tumbled Glass) to create the base. Then I stamped in a repeat pattern the word Grace in Distress Oxide a shade darker (Broken China) and "is sufficient" in black Archival Ink - both from the Choose Faith set. I added a sentiment to the tab and the back from the GRACE SO AMAZING set. Then I added ink splatters with Dina Wakley Ocean Acrylic paint and Dylusions Acrylic paint (this is what was on my desk:)) and set it aside to dry while I created the focal pieces. I printed out the sheet music to Amazing grace on some cardstock and punched it out with a heart punch. I inked the edges of the heart with black Archival and added a little Antique Lined Distress Oxides on top (My card was cut from watercolor paper so I wanted to make sure the colors were similar) I stamped "Grace so Amazing" from the Faith Wordfetti set on a strip of scrap watercolor paper and then I was ready to put the my Faith-dex card together... I used some Grace themed washi tape and stuck to the card, then I added some coiled black twine to the side of it. I glued the hear on top of the twine then added the sentiment strip on top of the heart. Then I put blocks on top of all that dimension while it dried. Once it was all dry, I outlined to heart and sentiment strip using a black Stabilo All pencil which a blended with a damp brush. This card turned out great and it really speaks to me - I hope it does the same for the other people who receive it. If you haven't tried these before, I recommend it - it's truly fun!!) Thanks for stopping by! I hope you were inspired! Lyn P.S. and by the way:

WOW!!! I had the best weekend at Sweet N Sassy’s Creative Worship retreat! There was much learning and loving and a whole lot of Jesus! I still haven’t finished all my projects, but her…
Hiya, friends! Today I'm sharing a project that is all the rage in the Bible Journaling and crafting world, and I've recently jumped on the bandwagon too -- Scripture Cards (or Rolodex or MemoryDex Cards). A scripture card like this can contain any combination of scripture, decorations, and sentiments. I decided to make a card for this project with the verse Micah 7:7: "But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me." In this passage, the prophet Micah is talking about all the terrible things going on in the world, and how all those around him are untrustworthy. However, Micah watches, waits, and hopes in the Lord, knowing that God will hear and deliver him. What a powerful reminder of faithfulness and trust! As I was studying this passage a few mornings ago, I definitely knew that it was a verse I wanted to commit to memory, and refer to frequently. That's why I chose to make a scripture card with this particular verse. To create this card, I used a Project Life grid card as the base, and then sponged Cracked Pistachio, Faded Jeans, and Dusty Concord Distress Oxides in three layers. I carefully blended the colors with my blending tool and sponges, and then spritzed it with water for a spotty look. Next, I stamped my words on the card with the Set Apart set and the Skinny Minnie Alpha set. I stamped "watch" onto white cardstock in the three distress oxide colors with the Typewriter Block Alpha, and then cut them out to make my own alpha tiles. Then, I also stamped the arrow, heart, and star on the cardstock, colored them, and cut them out. I stamped some background images with stamps from the Set Apart set, such as clouds, doodle and art marks. I added a tab at the top, adhered my elements, and then tied a slip knot bow at the bottom with some grosgrain ribbon. I love how this little card turned out, and I especially love how it can visually remind me to just watch and wait on the Lord! The links (some are affiliate -- thanks!) to the products are above and below. Thanks for coming to visit today. Leave a message below if you have any questions or comments. Today I am playing with the Fur-Ever Friends Set. I have a clean and simple card and I finally got the opportunity to try my hand at a faith-dex card. It was really fun and I will definitely be making more of them! The card is a one layer card. I doodled a border and popped the squirrel in the middle as well as the sentiment from the set. I used some warn gray Copics and used a dot technique for the body. Here is the faith-dex card: This one uses Neenah Dessert Storm (kraft). I used a direct to paper technique with my Distress Ink Pads (I explain it in THIS POST). Then I used the entire sheet of Faith Wordfetti Sentiment stamps like a background/texture stamp using the darker ink color. While it was drying, I colored the deer and one of the mushrooms with Copics, fussy cut them and glued them on. I added two of the sentiments and to the back I added the verse from l Peter 4:11: Whoever serves, [let him do it] as one who serves by the strength which God supplies – in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. When I looked this verse up I found the following note and it really made me think about how I used my gifts… Therefore, I decided it needed to be my first faith-dex card. This passage is part of Peter’s teaching on how Christians should love each other “strenuously” (1 Peter 4:8). He has urged us to offer hospitality without grumbling. Believers are to see all that we have as gifts from God, available to be used for serving each other. These were fun! I hope you are inspired to try out these faith-dex cards or just try a new technique!. Thanks for stopping by! Lyn

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps April Release Hop! There's another fabulous release in the SNSS shop that we've been stamping with and we're so excited to share our projects with you! Hop along and leave a little comment love for the designers linked below and you might just be a lucky winner! One lucky comment from all the comments along the hop will win a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, April 23. Sweet 'n Sassy Blog Julee Tilman Ceal Pritchett Diane Zechman Esther Asbury Jane Bosi Karen Decknick Lee Ann Barrett Lucinde van Ballegooijen Lyn Tomlin Sheri Gilson My reading plan had me in Deuteronomy on Easter Sunday and I was immediately struck by words I've read so many times before: "yet the Lord set His heart in love..." Deut 10:15. Y'all. He SET His heart in love!! He loves us so fully that His heart is set (to determine or fix definitely) on us. What a beautiful word picture we are given! Before the world went upside down, I found a great deal on a vintage typewriter. I wanted it for projects exactly like this one! After stamping the paper image from Your Story a couple times, I was able to add the verse with my typewriter before completing the faithdex card. On the front, pictured above, I used other elements from Your Story, hearts from Forever and Always and the beautiful floral image from Country Gardens. I love that little clip--don't you? The back of the card is simply finished with the rest of the verse and a simple heart. Your next stop is Karen's blog--I'm sure she's going to WOW you! Be sure to leave a comment at each stop for your chance to win some SNSS goodness! TTFN, Jane
Ever since taking Stephanie Ackerman's class I have slowly been working my way through my deck of cards. Halfway done now, and each one I make is making me so happy. These little cards go together so quick, and are perfect to tuck in cards or a friend's pocket as they walk out the door. Here are the most recent 4 I have made... Closeups. Acrylic Paint, Tissue paper, book text, stamping and more. My words come from scrapbook stickers, book text and even the selvage on scrapbooking paper (the one below comes from a piece of Authentique paper) Then translating what I have been doing on the playing cards onto larger pieces such as Birthday cards for 2 special friends. Almost the same techniques as above but on card stock bases. Ready to pop in the mail and hopefully brighten their day. The hearts on the 2 cards from from an old Gelli Print on deli paper. So that's it. It's a heart filled post today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Hi Everyone! I'm excited to bring you some brand new files that are in the Lori Whitlock SVG shop and coming to the Silhouette Store! Memorydex scrapbooking is making a comeback! They are perfect for documenting weekly favorite photos, December daily, recipes, events... whatever! I decided to use this Memorydex box for my weekly photos. My goal is to do a card a week in 2020 documenting my favorite picture of that week. Take a peek... I started with the new Memorydex Box and Cards file (SVG, Silhouette). I decorated the base box using some Doodlebug Design Love Notes collection and Abigail Alphas. I then created cards for my first two weeks of 2020. For week one, I used one of the new Memorydex Foldover Cards (SVG, Silhouette) I love how you can decorate the front of the card, and add extra photos on the inside! It's great for when you can't pick just one photo to document! The base of my cards are Doodlebug Design Petite Prints. I used some Sweet Summer Stickers to document our recent trip to the Keys. For week 2 I used one of the new Memorydex Scalloped Cards (SVG, Silhouette) I made a set of all the new cards that coordinate with the Memorydex Box, so that it's easier for me to keep up with documenting my year! Memorydex Foldover Cards (SVG, Silhouette) Memorydex Scalloped Cards (SVG, Silhouette) Memorydex Envelopes (SVG,Silhouette) I put together a quick tutorial showing how to assemble to box, you can find it over on the Lori Whitlock Blog. If you make a Memorydex box using this file, we would love to see your projects! Be sure to tag Lori Whitlock on Facebook and Instagram so we can see! That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Guess who got memorydex supplies for Christmas?! I'm so excited because I've been wanting to create faithdex cards, and now I have the tools to do it with! I'm starting the year off with Psalm 46:10, He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Be Still = cease, let go, relax, be quiet Know = perceive, see, acknowledge, learn Sometimes stillness is chosen, and sometimes it's forced upon us by life events. This year I'm feeling the need to choose more quiet time to listen, meditate, and nourish my soul with the Word of God. Another interpretation of "'be still" can also be a command to stop trying to do everything in our own strength and by our own understanding; a directive to actively put our faith and trust in God. This is equally important in the life of a Christian. Thought to ponder: The verse tells us that God WILL BE exalted. Will He be exalted in my life? "Love is in the air" is our heart-happy theme over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and we're also featuring the fab products of Carabelle Studio. I made two matchbook cards to celebrate all things love: I started by cutting the matchbook shapes out of Strathmore Mixed Media paper and Tim Holtz's Matchbook die set. Next, I heat-embossed some Carabelle Studio stamp images with white embossing powder. The circle images are from an "art texture printing plate," but I use them as stamps all the time. The only consideration is that your images will be backwards (notice my backwards number 2, for example), but that doesn't bother me much. Confession time! I've had Jane Davenport's Mermaid Markers for several months but was too dang chicken to give them a try. I hope I'm not the only one who gets excited then intimidated by cool crafting products! Anyway, I finally gave them a whirl and they are fantastic! A little color goes a long way, so I touched around the images with the Mermaid Markers then blended the colors together with a paintbrush and some water. Once the covers were drying, I decided to make some pages out of paper bags, which I cut to size and sewed down the center. The next step was to sew the pages into my matchbooks, which you can see here: The last step was to add a little more decor to the fronts of the matchbooks. I glued on some Washi Tape and made tabs (cause I love me some tabs). I added a heart and then stamped some Dina Wakley sentiments onto tissue paper, which I glued on top of everything else. I got out the trusty Sharpie and sketched around the edges for some faux stitching to finish these off. One thing is for sure: since our theme was love, I have to say I LOVE Mermaid Markers once I finally played with them. Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp: Carabelle Studio Ronds Art Printing Texture Plate Carabelle Studio Frise Nuage Edge Cling Stamp Ranger Embossing Powder SUPER FINE WHITE EPJ36678 Ranger HEAT IT CRAFT TOOL Ranger Non Stick Craft Sheet Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers Jane Davenport Shimmering Sky Mermaid Markers Dina Wakley Collaged Hearts Stamp Set Tim Holtz Sizzix MATCHBOOK SET Dies Sizzix Big Shot Strathmore Mixed Media Paper Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink Pad How will you show some love this week?
