I just love this Beautiful Moments stamp set. This set was inspired by Jacque Williams one of the Million Sales Achievers in Stampin’ Up! I purchased this stamp set during the recent sale on Cling Stamps that was held. So today I decided to pair it with the Basic Border Dies and have some fun. Here is what I came up with… The card base is Blackberry Bliss cardstock that is cut 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”. I embossed the right front of the card base using the Greenery Embossing Folder. I then took a piece of Basic Gray cardstock and cut it to 3 ¼ x 5 ½”. I measured to the center at 2 ¾” and up 1” on each side to mark where I wanted to place the Border Die so I got everything centered (I did the same thing on the Basic White Layer) and die cut it. I added this to my card base. Next, I cut a piece of the Basic White cardstock to 3 x 5 ½” and did that same measuring and die cut it. Before I adhered my Basic White layer, I did my stamping and coloring. I stamped the image, sentiment and birds (all from the Beautiful Moments stamp set) onto my layer with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I then colored my image in with the Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers listed below. Then I attached this layer to my Basic Gray layer. I added three of the Pearl Basic Jewels to finish off the front of the card. For the inside and envelope, I added another of the stamps from the set stamped in the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with the Blends. I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it. As always you can find the supplies to create this card and much more on my website at https://craftwithronnie.stampinup.net or by click the shopping button at the top of this blog or the link to the supplies listed below. Diorama card for summer - Tech 4 Stampers blog hop designed and created by Elaine Harding using Stampin' Up! products in the new catalogue.
Welcome stampers! I hope you had a great weekend. I have had a good two weeks with Perry's sister visiting. We made a lot of cards together, watched golf, played Mah Jongg, Power Yahtzee and Scrabble. Now it's back to work creating for customers. I have had some tall orders for custom cards, which I'll be showing you later on this month. For now, I'd like you to see one of the cards we made in our card group at Meg's last week. The Beautiful Moments Stamp Set is one I didn't order so I'm happy she did. I also didn't order the Ornate Frames but I'm re-thinking that! I love this card! I colored her dress with a Light Highland Heather Blend, her hair with Light So Saffron, her skin with the Ivory Blend. I added a bunch of Pearl Basic Jewels and I'm sure you know why...yeppers, ink smudges! The grass is colored with Light and Dark Old Olive Blends. I used my Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil and Blender Pen for the flowers. The sentiment is stamped on Highland Heather card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut with a die from the Ornate Frames. I raised it up with Dimensionals and adhered it to the Gorgeous Grape frame cut from the same die set. The strip of DSP is from the Subtles DSP. The butterflies are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. For the inside, I used a sentiment from Country Home and the flowers are from Path of Petals. The sentiment is Highland Heather and the flowers are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil and Blender Pen. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you'll be back tomorrow for our monthly blog hop. Hi! I'm back with part two of my posts about my recent presentation in Sydney. This time I have the Casual Stamper samples that I made to show off the gorgeous Beautiful Moments stamp set, co-designed by Jacque Williams. A Casual Stamper is one who has been stamping a little while, but may not have a lot of supplies and probably doesn't stamp more than couple of times a month, and usually for a purpose rather than just for fun/relaxation. They want to try a bit trickier techniques, but nothing too tricky! My technique of choice for this group was colouring and blending using Watercolour Pencils and a Wink Of Stella pen. It's colouring technique I use a lot, especially in classes. It's not as difficult as regular watercolouring, and you have the bonus of pretty, sparkly cards! Hopefully you can see the shimmer in this photo! To colour this way, you stamp your image using Memento ink. Take your pencil and colour roughly along the lines in the image, and then take your Wink Of Stella brush and use it like an Aqua Painter, pulling the colour into the open areas of your image. I use circular motions with the WOS brush. I kept forgetting to use the sweet little butterflies in the set - I wish I'd added a few above the flowers on this card, both inside and front. Oh well - next time! This card uses the same technique, I just used a Thick Whisper White card base and added some Highland Heather Gingham DSP under the main image. You can see in her dress in this photo how the technique allows for a bit of shading in the image - the pencils lay darker colour and the WOS lightens it as it pulls away. This next card is one of my favourites that I made for the presentation. I stamped the image in Soft Suede on one of the large Magnolia Lane Notecards. I then took my Chalk Marker and selectively coloured the image, using a quick flicking motion. On the dress, I flicked up from the waistline for the bodice, and then down for the skirt. It's such a dreamy looking card! As always, I finished the inside with the same technique. Thanks for stopping by again. You can find my post with my Beginner Samples here, and my Avid Samples here. Bye for now, Tina

This week at Retro Rubber, we have a colour challenge for you. Make us something that uses pastel colours. Easy, right? Of course, since this is Retro Rubber, you need to use at least one stamp that's a year or more old and tell us the approximate age of it. I've been charmed of late by Jacque Williams' Million Dollar sales set, Beautiful Moments. It's sat on my shelves for over a year with just a couple of uses until this last fortnight where I've rediscovered its beauty. This card shows the third of the three main images of the set. You can see the others here and here. The pastel colours I've used are Petal Pink, Seaside Spray, Mint Macaron and So Saffron. I used Basic Grey to stamp the images as it's just a bit softer than Tuxedo Black. This is a pretty straight-forward card. I've masked the figures so I could stamp in the horizon line and I paper pieced the dresses but other than that, there's nothing hard happening. I wanted the sentiment to stand out but using Petal Pink card stock was just too strong, so I stamped the sentiment (from Dressed to Impress) in Basic Grey and then coloured it with a Petal Pink Stampin' Blend. You can see what the rest of the team have done and link up your entry by visiting the Retro Rubber Challenge site. Wow what a wonderful day it was yesterday at onstage in Perth. The whole day is a bit of a blur but it was awesome anyway! Ok..... a week before we went away to Exmouth in the September/ October holidays, I received a phone call from Donna Williams at head office in Sydney asking me if I would like to present Jacque Williams 1 million CSV stampset that she designed when she reached her awesome milestone...... I instantly said yes!! (What was I thinking I said to myself no way will I ever present at onstage again!!) I obviously can't say no to her! I then went away for two weeks and had the most wonderful holiday. It meant I really only had a couple of solid weeks to work on samples and what I was going to say before I snuck away for a quick holiday with hubby to Bali and a few days later my friend Vicki arrived from Brisbane the week before the event. It was full on! I did have an awesome set which was so easy to work with! That feeling of nervousness snuck in about halfway through the day and I thought oh my goodness I am going to be sick! Public speaking is my worst fear and now I was about to do it again for the second time in 3 years! Luckily I love the products so it was easy to talk about. I even changed up my little script and got a few laughs along the way. That made me feel a lot better and especially hearing the reactions to my cards made it all worthwhile. I was really kicking myself as I forgot to take my digital camera to get pictures... I had some great demo friends who sent me theirs - thankyou to them all I am so grateful. Here are a few After the day I went out for dinner with a group of lovely demonstrators and was able to relax a little. I slept well last night.... and I may or may not have had a nana nap this afternoon. Here are my actual samples Beginner Style Card using one colour of a blend. Here is my haul from the day and isn't the backpack amazing?? I was lucky as a few of my team came along and we all got to sit together. Team INKYPINKS!! I met so many more awesome people yesterday and I am so happy that I started this journey. The colour challenge at Global Design Project this week is very sweet and made me think of the beach. Although I was thinking of the beach, I've done a lot with Friends are Like Seashells and couldn't quite feel the love for Seaside Notions but then I saw Beautiful Moments on the shelf. It's perhaps not ended up quite as 'beach' as I'd thought when I started but I like it anyway. 😀 I stamped the girl, the birds and some extra plants on Shimmery White Cardstock in Tuxedo Black. I coloured the Seaside Spray and So Saffron with Stampin' Blends and the Sahara Sand with ink and a Blender Pen. Once it was done, I cut it using the equilateral triangles from Stitched Triangle dies. I cut triangles from Seaside Spray and So Saffron and arranged them on the card front, which had been embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. This folder is sadly retiring so, if you want it, make sure to order it straight away. The stamped triangles are popped up on dimensionals. Finally I added in the sentiment from Art Gallery and cut with a Stitched Rectangle die. Update: Delighted to be chosen a a winner at Global Design Project. Hello stampers and happy Friday to you. In the Moment is a brand new stamp set that feels like it was made just for me. Perhaps you will feel the same way when you see it. It resonated so strongly with me that I was inspired to create a class around it, and not just any class. Are you curious? In The Moment Day Away Class The images are all of a woman with curly hair. She is either drinking wine, reading a book or sipping a coffee looking out the window. Does that sound like me?? Not

The challenge this week at The Paper Players is a theme challenge, and one that's hard to go past: Beside the Seaside. Well, the beach is my Happy Place and I've many happy memories of being at the beach with the children. Two of our favourite things from when they were small were picking up shells and interesting bits from the shore and popping them into the sand castle buckets, and paddling our feet in the water. The whimsical images from Beautiful Moments fitted the bill perfectly, especially the one of the two small girls with their buckets. Having given them some beach and sky, colouring and then paper-piecing their dresses, the card still seemed to be missing something. So I got out Friends are Like Seashells to add in some extra beachiness... plus it gave me a good excuse for some theraputic colouring. I chose the Painted Textures 3D Embossing Folder for the background because it seemed to me to be like the ripples of sea water when the waves wash to the shore. I've partially coloured this with Pool Party ink and a blending brush. Once I did that, I realised this card was turning out to be a close sister of this one. Update: Delighted to be A Cut Above at The Paper Players. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours.
