I used the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Moments stamp set to create a beach themed card to share with you today.

Welcome stampers! I hope you had a great weekend. I have had a good two weeks with Perry's sister visiting. We made a lot of cards together, watched golf, played Mah Jongg, Power Yahtzee and Scrabble. Now it's back to work creating for customers. I have had some tall orders for custom cards, which I'll be showing you later on this month. For now, I'd like you to see one of the cards we made in our card group at Meg's last week. The Beautiful Moments Stamp Set is one I didn't order so I'm happy she did. I also didn't order the Ornate Frames but I'm re-thinking that! I love this card! I colored her dress with a Light Highland Heather Blend, her hair with Light So Saffron, her skin with the Ivory Blend. I added a bunch of Pearl Basic Jewels and I'm sure you know why...yeppers, ink smudges! The grass is colored with Light and Dark Old Olive Blends. I used my Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil and Blender Pen for the flowers. The sentiment is stamped on Highland Heather card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut with a die from the Ornate Frames. I raised it up with Dimensionals and adhered it to the Gorgeous Grape frame cut from the same die set. The strip of DSP is from the Subtles DSP. The butterflies are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. For the inside, I used a sentiment from Country Home and the flowers are from Path of Petals. The sentiment is Highland Heather and the flowers are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil and Blender Pen. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you'll be back tomorrow for our monthly blog hop. Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, I am sharing a card made with the Beautiful Moments stamp set. I love the way these two are looking at each other so intently whilst they walk along the beach. It also makes me want to visit the sea! Roll on warm, sunny days and walks by the shore. Seaside Spray card seemed the perfect one to use for the base card and I added a further layer of Seaside Spray some So Saffron which were topped off with a layer of Vellum card stock. These blocks of colour were embossed using the Subtle embossing folder and loosely represent the shore, water and sky in the little scene. In addition, there are very skinny layers of Early Espresso card to create a frame. I think it makes the layers pop! The idea for the layers of colour came from the Sketch Challenge over at The Paper Players this week. Their sketch looks like this: I wanted the card to have a warm, weathered look so I chose to watercolour the image by stamping on Shimmery White card with black StazOn ink. There are various ways to watercolour in Stampin' Up! colours. You can use ink pads or reinkers or Stampin' Write Markers in a similar way - transfer some ink onto a non-porous surface, an acrylic block is ideal, and then use an Aqua Painter to have fun colouring in the image. Alternatively, you could also use Watercolour pencils. I used my ink pads, but use which ever method you prefer. Some Natural Linen Thread is wrapped around the embossed layers and a couple of flying birds are stamped in the background. The watercoloured image is cropped using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies, mounted on Early Espresso and popped up on Dimensionals to finish the card. Making this card has been a great escape from the cold February weather and it is making me look forward to the warmer summer days later in the year. Thank you for visiting me today - hopefully you enjoyed the brief escape to the seaside! Jo's Stamping Spot - Just Add Ink Challenge #537 watercolour card using Beautiful Moments by Stampin' Up! Joanne Stubbings Campbelltown NSW Australia
Hi Stampers! I hope you are ready for some fun coloring! Stampin'Up! has been increasing the number of stamp sets that lend themselves to coloring and the sketched drawing styles tops the list in my opinion! The new stamp set "Beautiful Moments" is the latest one and features women and girls that are easy to relate to and easy to color. Ready to see some ideas? I sure had fun! If you like to use an Aqua Painter with ink for your watercoloring technique, you will love this card! Be sure to use watercolor paper so it can absorb all the water without breaking down. Stampin'Up! has great watercolor paper that comes in 5" x 7" sheets so I cut one in half for this card. I started at the bottom and slowly worked my way up with horizontal brush strokes of color. I used Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Soft Seafoam, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. I stamped my image prior to watercoloring and be sure to use Stazon ink because it is permanent and won't bleed. Below, you can view a quick Youtube video showing how I made this card! This card is the result of a different idea that went awry. I had made a mountain scene with my "Snowfront" stamp set and then added this woman in a field image also, then in coloring it, really messed it up and so had to cut her out. I was going to throw the whole thing away, but decided to salvage her. That is the explanation for the somewhat awkward shape I cut! I had to cut away everything that was a disaster from the first project. I made it better by adding some of the new "So Very Vellum" paper which is a new freebie in the Sale-A-Bration promotion. I love the soft colors. I used one of the larger rectangle dies for my white frame as well. To color, I used our alcohol markers, Stampin'Blends. They color easily and smoothly and with a dark and light shade of every color, it's a snap to blend. This final card is my emotional favorite! I'm the mother of two girls and I have such strong memories in my head and photos in my drawers of these two precious girls, hand in hand, everyday, exploring, learning and laughing. That sister bond is incredible and I'm so very blessed to have a couple sisters of my own. This image was also colored with Stampin'Blends. As promised, here's my video tutorial of the first card with a watercolor technique. I love this style of stamp that lets me color with different techniques. It's a fun past time to color and the end result is stunning with the right tools. I've listed my supplies below as always and a click on any of them will take you to the store. I hope you try coloring soon! Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to have you be a regular "follower" of this blog. Hello there and good morning and welcome to March! Today I am sharing another card with the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set and you can come and make this card with me either on Saturday or 28th March or on Saturday 9th May. The images have been stamped onto our lovely Shimmer card which is a bit more expensive but WOW it holds the water so well and also has a subtle sparkle to it! You can see from the photo above the image I have stamped and coloured BUT then WOW take a look below at how it looks after I have run it through the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder. And here it is finished off in all it's glory adhered to a Calypso Coral card base with some added Scalloped Lace Trim. This will be one of our makes at the classes, would love to see you there, just drop me a note!

Hi! Here's the third and final part of my OnStage Presentation sample posts. This time I have my Avid Crafter samples for the gorgeous Beautiful Moments stamp set. An Avid Crafter is one who stamps nearly every day and has to have it all! Sound familiar? I am definitely an Avid Crafter!! They definitely want more difficult projects and are willing to spend a lot of time (and money) on one card. This card, using the Reflection Technique on my Stamparatus, was the card I demonstrated live on the day. It was a little nervewracking, but I did it! The hardest part is getting the water wash over the reflection part of the image to look right. I used Blueberry Bushell ink and an Aqua Painter. The rest of the image was coloured beforehand with my Aqua Painter and ink pads. Once the Blueberry Bushell was was dry, I flicked my Chalk Marker over the top to give the look of light reflecting off ripples in the water. I finished the inside with the image again in Crushed Curry Ink. This image was originally a 'just trying things out' sample that turned out nicely enough to go on a card. I stamped the image on Shimmery White card using a no-line stamping technique and then coloured them with my Watercolour Pencils and an Aquapainter. I layered two of the Stitched Labels to go behind the image panel. The girls were stamped in Coastal Cabana to finish off the inside. I used the Bridge Fold to create this card. All of the colouring was done on Watercolour Paper using my ink pads and Aqua Painter. I stamped using Stazon Ink. I added a second row of flowers to the middle of the card, between the front layer and the back, to give the card more depth. The back of the card uses Shimmery White card, as it copes well with watercolouring, but is smooth to write on. This card is my absolute favourite of all the cards I made. It was the very first idea I had when I saw Jacque's stamp set - how well it would work with A Good Man. 'Perfectly' is the answer! I used my Stamparatus and stocky notes to stamp and mask the images, starting with the dad/girl, then the mum/girl, and finally the island - which is actually an outline of Rangitoto Island, just off Auckland. A nice homage to Jacque's adopted hometown! I stamped on watercolour paper using Stazon ink and then coloured with my ink pads and Aqua Painter. Once again, I used Shimmery White cardstock on the inside so that I could watercolcour. I also made a couple of scrapbook pages for the Presentation, to show how versatile the set is for all paper crafters. I'd recently been in Auckland for April's OnStage event, so I scrapped a photo of the family there, and another of Rangitoto Island. This will be the opening page of my album. I also made a pocket page of my sisters and I when we were lots younger and entered a sandcastle building competition. The two little girls on the beach were the perfect image for this page! Thanks for checking out my samples. You can see my Beginner Samples here, and my Casual Samples here. Bye for now, Tina

Hi! I'm back with part two of my posts about my recent presentation in Sydney. This time I have the Casual Stamper samples that I made to show off the gorgeous Beautiful Moments stamp set, co-designed by Jacque Williams. A Casual Stamper is one who has been stamping a little while, but may not have a lot of supplies and probably doesn't stamp more than couple of times a month, and usually for a purpose rather than just for fun/relaxation. They want to try a bit trickier techniques, but nothing too tricky! My technique of choice for this group was colouring and blending using Watercolour Pencils and a Wink Of Stella pen. It's colouring technique I use a lot, especially in classes. It's not as difficult as regular watercolouring, and you have the bonus of pretty, sparkly cards! Hopefully you can see the shimmer in this photo! To colour this way, you stamp your image using Memento ink. Take your pencil and colour roughly along the lines in the image, and then take your Wink Of Stella brush and use it like an Aqua Painter, pulling the colour into the open areas of your image. I use circular motions with the WOS brush. I kept forgetting to use the sweet little butterflies in the set - I wish I'd added a few above the flowers on this card, both inside and front. Oh well - next time! This card uses the same technique, I just used a Thick Whisper White card base and added some Highland Heather Gingham DSP under the main image. You can see in her dress in this photo how the technique allows for a bit of shading in the image - the pencils lay darker colour and the WOS lightens it as it pulls away. This next card is one of my favourites that I made for the presentation. I stamped the image in Soft Suede on one of the large Magnolia Lane Notecards. I then took my Chalk Marker and selectively coloured the image, using a quick flicking motion. On the dress, I flicked up from the waistline for the bodice, and then down for the skirt. It's such a dreamy looking card! As always, I finished the inside with the same technique. Thanks for stopping by again. You can find my post with my Beginner Samples here, and my Avid Samples here. Sympathy cards are one of those types of cards that one needs to just have on hand. Sadly, I’ve lost a friend recently, and it’s very hard to sit and create during sorrow. Wow what a wonderful day it was yesterday at onstage in Perth. The whole day is a bit of a blur but it was awesome anyway! Ok..... a week before we went away to Exmouth in the September/ October holidays, I received a phone call from Donna Williams at head office in Sydney asking me if I would like to present Jacque Williams 1 million CSV stampset that she designed when she reached her awesome milestone...... I instantly said yes!! (What was I thinking I said to myself no way will I ever present at onstage again!!) I obviously can't say no to her! I then went away for two weeks and had the most wonderful holiday. It meant I really only had a couple of solid weeks to work on samples and what I was going to say before I snuck away for a quick holiday with hubby to Bali and a few days later my friend Vicki arrived from Brisbane the week before the event. It was full on! I did have an awesome set which was so easy to work with! That feeling of nervousness snuck in about halfway through the day and I thought oh my goodness I am going to be sick! Public speaking is my worst fear and now I was about to do it again for the second time in 3 years! Luckily I love the products so it was easy to talk about. I even changed up my little script and got a few laughs along the way. That made me feel a lot better and especially hearing the reactions to my cards made it all worthwhile. I was really kicking myself as I forgot to take my digital camera to get pictures... I had some great demo friends who sent me theirs - thankyou to them all I am so grateful. When you start with a stamp from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set, it's hard to beat simple stamping. I rarely make a card without die-cutting, but this card is just stamps, ink and paper; true

Hi friends, welcome to my blog! As soon as I saw the Beautiful Moments stamp set in the Stampin' Up catalog, I knew that I wanted to use it for Mother's Day. Isn't that such a sweet image? All of the images in this stamp set are gorgeous... To create this card I tried something new (to me) by stamping the image on vellum cardstock and coloring on the reverse side of the vellum with Stampin' Blends. The vellum image is then mounted on a background that I created by sponging Crumb Cake & Balmy Blue onto Whisper White cardstock. I used a very light spritz of spray adhesive on the back of the vellum to adhere it. Some things I learned about stamping & coloring on vellum... It takes a long time for ink to dry on vellum. Seriously. Stamp the image, set it aside & go vacuum your entire house or apartment. Then do the laundry. By then the ink will probably be dry enough to flip over and color. Also, when you're creating the background, sponge the color on very lightly. Too dark and it will show through the vellum, altering the coloring on your image. Specifically, your mother & daughter will have blue arms instead of the flesh tone you intended. Beautiful Moments is carrying over into the new Stampin' Up catalog coming in June, so if you don't have it yet, no worries! Here are a few After the day I went out for dinner with a group of lovely demonstrators and was able to relax a little. I slept well last night.... and I may or may not have had a nana nap this afternoon. Here are my actual samples Beginner Style Card using one colour of a blend. Casual Style Card with watercolouring on watercolour paper. Avid Card open using both light and dark Stampin' Blends to get some depth in the image Avid Card Closed Onstage was about celebrating others and I made this card to celebrate my friend Denise on presenting for the first time yesterday. I met so many more awesome people yesterday and I am so happy that I started this journey.
