The background on the right card has been created by using one of the die cuts from the set as a mask with Emboss Paste and then splattered with Champagne Mist. This stamp set has the added bonus of being a "Reversibles" so the outline image can be stamped first, turned over and stamped again to colour in the image. So versatile as it caters for those who love to colour in and those that don't! The background has been created by embossing "Celebrate" from the Happy Birthday to You Sale-A-Bration set and adding a water colour wash over it. I also used the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blend on the lines of the Lily to add a little more depth once I had stamped it. Stampin' Blends have been used to colour the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon too so it co-ordinates with my cards. The Sequins are from the Peaceful Poppies Suite and before I adhered them with glue I used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to create a little black dot. This made placement easy and I like the look of the sequins being filled in! Hi everyone, hoping you had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed your time with your family and friends. I had a lovely time with family, I even caught up with my cousin and his wife who I have not seen for about 2 years which was fantastic. I had time today to have a little play with some of the new products coming in the new Mini Catalogue on 2 January 2020. OMG, 2020, it does not seem that long ago it was all the hype about 2000 and the end of the world. For my card I have used products from the Parisian Blossoms Suite, using the Parisian Beauty stamp set along with the Parisian Dies and the Cherry Blossom Dies. The sentiment was cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I know that I will be using this Die set a lot, it it is amazing. There is a lot going on on my card, I got a little carried away, But hey you cannot have enough flowers right! The background I stamped using Sahara Sand ink using the images from the Parisian Beauty stamp set. The sentiment is also from this stamp set. The rest of the card is all die cutting and layering, with the addition of the Champagne Rhinestones for the small flower centres. Thank you for visiting. Hello there and welcome to 2020 on the blog! The Just Add Ink team are kicking off the new year with our annual blog hop. It is extra special this year as we are celebrating 10 years and 1000 followers for the Just Add Ink challenges! You may have come from Denita's blog, be starting the blog hop here on my blog, or you can go to Just Add Ink, and then follow the links at the end of each team members blog post on to the next. This year the theme is very appropriately 'Celebrate!'. So many joyful occasions can fall under that theme. For me the first big family event of the year is my daughters birthday, so birthday card it is. I had a blogging break at the end of the last year, and was a bit worried I might be rusty, but the sheer enjoyment of playing with new stuff (TimelessTropical in particular, which ironically was not my first pick from the new SU! mini catalogue) and colouring made putting this card together easier than expected. It really is all about the colouring! I stamped my images in a very light ink and then used SU! Blends (alcohol markers) to no line colour the flowers. I should really have taken step-by-step photos as for most of the process honestly they look pretty ordinary and then at the end the multiple layers of ink, blend and end up looking finished. So my best tip for alcohol marker colouring is to persist and keep adding layers of colour and contrast. For me, simple stamping is a lot of work. I love the look of it when I see it done by others but I always feel like my projects need a little something..... Well this card is no exception. I did do a simple version which does not use the punched out blossoms or the pearls or the embossing powder but I wanted to share this stepped up version with you today. I saw two water lilies when I saw this sketch..probably because I really wanted to use this new bundle and paper from the SAB(sale-a-bration) brochure which starts in January 2020. You can earn these products free when you buy from the annual catalog and the new mini catalog which starts also in Jan. I grabbed this beautiful designer print from the Lily Impressions DSP and fell in love with the purple in it. Yes, purple is my fav color and I love to create with it, too! I added it to the white base and the stamped the flowers from the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and cut it out with the matching dies called Lily Pad dies. I stamped the lilies in Blackberry Bliss and colored them with the Flirty Flamingo Stampin Blends markers. I stamped the lily pads in Pretty Peacock on Pool Party card stock and cut them out. I placed them side by side and layered my flowers on. I stamped the sentiment from another new stamp set called Timeless Tulips in Blackberry Bliss ink and a white banner.
