Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday... This weeks Curvy Keepsake Box was kind of inspired by a trip to the Disney Store in London. We were in London to see The Lion King, which was truly amazing and of course a trip to the Disney Store is an absolute must.....lol. Here is my Bestie posing inside the pumpkin, loved how they did this, on one side you had the pumpkin and on the other side you had the beautiful carriage below. Anyway on to the Curvy Keepsake Box.... So here we have Cinderella's Pumpkin Carriage, I started off with a Pumpkin Pie Curvy Keepsake Box. I used my pumpkin Pie Marker to draw curved lines on each panel, then I cut out a window on each side using the 1 1/4" circle punch. I used the Dazzling Details to go over the marker lines to add some sparkle. Then I cut out two 1 3/4" vellum Circles and using the White Gel Pen I drew some curtains on the vellum and then stuck them to the inside over the circle windows. For the decoration I cut out two of the smallest leaves from the Leaflets Framelits and layered them with some thin curled card, I tied them together with some Bakers Twine and stuck them to the box with some glue dots. I made a tiny hitch using the Word Window Punch and stuck it to the underneath of the box. I made some wheels using the 1" circle and the 1 1/4" circle layered them and added some detail. Then I attached them to some cocktail sticks with dimensionals and then to the bottom of the box. I added extra pieces of thin curled card to the bottom of the box to finish it off. Finally I made a tiny leaf tag using Teeny Tiny Sentiments and a leaf from the Leaflets Framelits, held on with a tiny peg. I hope you like, thanks for stopping by.... Happy Creating X

I have teamed up with 11 Incredible Demonstrators from around the globe to bring you a Tutorial Bundle, once a month for a 6 month period (August 2016 - January 2017). All tutorials are offered in both Metric and Imperial measurements so that everyone around the globe are able to recreate the projects with ease. You will receive no less than TWELVE tutorials in each month's Tutorial Bundle, one tutorial from each of the twelve designers. For a sneak peek of each month's Tutorials and/or to purchase them click below. Poppy Favour Tutorial Cut Two Ovals of differing sizes and stamp using Kinda Eclectic sunburst image in the same Real Red as the cardstock. Curl the edges using a bone folder (I have kept them flat here for the purpose of the photo). Snip into the centre where they over lap and interlock. Die cut the leaf from the Leaflets Framelits in Garden Green. Mount the poppy on a disc of Basic Black and sandwich your treat between that and another disc. Add the leaf and then the poppy head, before finishing it off with a smaller circle of Black Cardstock to the centre, which I've adhered using a single Dimensional foam pad. Notecard and Tag Gift Box for 3"x3" cards Click on the above photo to see the project post in it's entirety. Below are the instructions for making the box and insert divider. The enclosed Notecards are a simple 3" x 3" square card and the coordinating Envelopes were made using the Envelope Punch Board and Designer Series Paper. The tags are cut to 2" wide, finished using the Tag Topper Punch and cut to your chosen length to fit the box. Stamp up the cards to coordinate with your chosen DSP. Snip into one score line at each corner and use a strong adhesive to assemble. I have shown here with Sticky Strip so that you are able to see it clearly. It is a good idea to adhere the divider in place. This helps to give the box a little more strength to the base. If you are stamping on the Box Lid, you will want to do this before assembling. Wonderland Hanging Star Ornament Tutorial (6" x 6") Click on the photo, to be taken to the Tutorial Instructions. Envelope Punch Board Mini Album (6" x 6") Click on the photo, to be taken to the Tutorial Instructions. Envelope Punch Board/Paper Table Favour Click on the photo, to be taken to the Tutorial Instructions. The instructions will yield 12 favours from one sheet of 12" x 12" paper. Instructions require a 3" square piece for this size. Sprinkles of Life Slider Card Click on the first photo to be taken to the Photographic Tutorial instructions. Gift Card Envelope Box Tutorial Click on the photo to be taken to the Tutorial instructions. Santa's Face Embellishment Tutorial I have received some lovely comments and emails asking for instructions on how to make the Punch Art Santa that I showed on my Curvy Keepsake Gift Boxes of late, so without further ado ….. get your punches ready and spread a little cheer! You will need the following punches and dies: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle - White 1 3/4" Scallop Circle - White Large Oval - Blushing Bride Large circle from Owl Builder Punch - Blushing Bride 2 Medium Circles from Owl Builder Punch - Black Mustache Framelit - White Petite Pennants Builder - Real Red Petite Pennants Builder - Silver Glimmer (part punch) 1/2" Circle - Silver Glimmer 1. Punch out one each of the above (unless otherwise stated) 2. Assemble as shown. Taking the Pennant Parade part punch of glimmer paper and holding with a post it note, re-insert into the punch in the opposite direction to add a scalloped edge to the opposite side of the scalloped bottom edge. 3. Add the Mustache to the face using Dimensionals and add the scalloped punched glimmer strip to the bottom of the hat. 4. Attach the hat to the face and decide where you wish to use your cheerful Santa. Merry Christmas Mikaela x Curvy Keepsake Pumpkin Box Tutorial Place an online order with me during the month of October 2014, of £20 or more, and you will receive a kit to make two of these cute boxes. Look out for the Hostess Code to apply to your order at the beginning of October (Note that the Designer Series Paper may differ to that shown here). Cut two each of the Cardstock sides and two of the Polka Dot Designer Series Paper sides. Please note that this particular DSP has been retired, but the Designer Series paper Stacks would offer a similar polka dot. Die cut as shown here. Fold on the score lines and lay out as shown here. Adhere the cardstock base together, then trim off the excess DSP along the scoreline at the base of the sides. Add adhesive to the outside edge of the little side tab of the card stock base and marry up the base of the DSP side. Repeat on both sides. The base of your box will now look like this. Very gently, using the full length of a Bone Folder, curl each box side inwards on itself, in the direction of it being assembled. The Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits, comes complete with 3 possible tags. I've used the oval here and stamped using a Hostess Set called, Good Greetings. The leaf has been die cut using the Autumn Accents Die. Take a thin strip of matching card stock and wrap it tightly around a thin round pen or similar. Layer the tag and leaf, attach the card stock curl with a Glue Dot and tie to the box using Linen Thread. Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies £29.95 Autumn Accents Bigz Die £18.95 Pumpkin Pie A4 Card Stock £6.25 Old Olive A4 Card Stock £6.25 Crumb Cake A4 Card Stock £6.25 Linen Thread £3.95 Flower Shop Stamp Set Tip Should you purchase the gorgeous Flower Shop Stamp Set and Punch Bundle, then you will find this tip for setting up the stamps, very useful. Thankfully, I discovered this tip from one of my fellow Demonstrators in America, before setting my kit up. There is only one way that the punch will fit neatly around the stamped image, with an even edge all the way round, so you need to find this to start with … and here is how. Firstly you want to take a piece of cardstock and pushing the strip right down into the punch, punch out the image. Turn the piece of cardstock over and mark which is the top and bottom of the image (the bottom being the inside edge of the punch). It is important to turn the cardstock over to mark this, as you are wanting the punch to sit the way the image will appear when stamped. Now place each flower image in turn onto your acrylic block and with the punched out flower, sit it over the rubber image, turning it until it sits snuggly around the flower (there really is only one best way). When you've found it, mark on the edge of the rubber, where the bottom is (as shown in the bottom left photo here). Repeat for each flower image. I have marked the bottom, so that now when I stamp the image, I stamp it with the bottom mark of the image to the edge of the cardstock, so that I can slot it directly into the punch, without having to cut away excess cardstock to line it up. I have also marked the rubber that I store them in, so that I know which way round it sits neatly back in the case. I hope this makes sense. I think once you start rotating the cardstock, you'll see how it fits better one way more so than the others. Using the excess side strips of your dimensionals, add a height to one stem Using the Itty Bitty Punch Set, punch a LOT of flowers out of Wisteria Wonder cardstock and crumple between your fingers (you can do several at a time), before attaching the screwed up flowers to each dimensional line, until covered Add the Calypso Coral Butterfly and the leaves using Glue Dots Attach the fence to the main tag, lining up the bottom edge and tucking the leaves between the fence posts Using the Woodgrain Stamp, Crumb Cake Ink and the Second Edition Stamping technique, stamp strips of Crumb Cake Card Stock Print your chosen sentiment with Early Espresso Ink and punch out using the Ticket Duo Builder, before adding this with Snail adhesive to the fence Slot your ribbon through the curved cut at the top of the tag and secure with a bow of Linen Thread Enjoy making and creating your own versions! Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We are showcasing lots of gorgeous projects from the new Stampin' Up! ® Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping! A very warm welcome to you, especially if you have hopped to me from the lovely Tracy's blog - I do love seeing how creative other people are, don't you? :O) There are soooo many yummy things in the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue - I think that it is one of the best yet! So many fantastic ideas for packaging, gifts and decorations..I love it all! Well, nearly all.... I'm a bit squeamish about (ok, terrified, of) spiders and so I think I may have to give the aptly-named "Frightful Wreath Simply Created Kit" on page 37 a wide berth - but only because of the beaded spider in the kit! (It seems that the dreaded annual 'Spider-month' has come early to my house this year and the hairy blighters have been both large in numbers and size so far ... eww... so I am extra spooked by them now - bleuuugh!!) I do, however, like the rest of the wreath though... and I do like Halloween a LOT... so I may just have to bypass the eight-legged beastie and get myself one of the kits afterall... Anyway, talking of Halloween, that brings me to my blog-hop projects that I would like to share with you today: One of my favourite things to do for Halloween is to make themed treats to give to people. As soon as I saw the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die and the box ideas in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue, I just knew that they would make great pumpkins due to the lovely curved shape and had to give it a try.... So, here is what I came up with: With my Bigshot and the thinlits, I used Pumpkin Pie cardstock to make the box and drew lines on it with the brush-tip end of my Pumpkin Pie Write Marker, to look like the ridges of the pumpkin. To make the leaves, I use the ever-useful Autumn Accents Bigz Die (from the Annual Catalogue) to cut out three of the serrated (Beech?) leaves from Old Olive cardstock. To give the leaves some texture I folded them in half - to make the central vein - and then pinched the serrations with my fingers to make more vein-like indentations along both sides of the leaves. Here is a view of the box from above, to show you better: I made the tendrils by using my paper trimmer to cut long, tapered slivers from a piece of Old Olive cardstock and then rolled them tightly around my trusty Paper-Piercing Tool to produce the curved spirals. I then carefully glued them onto the uppermost box closure flap with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid glue, so that the box can be safely opened, to get to the sweeties inside it, without damaging the box. I couldn't resist making the cute little punch-art toad to go with it! He is made using the Small Oval Punch and the Owl Builder Punch - his smile comes from the little bit that you cut out using the notch-end of the punch from the fabby new Gift Box Punch Board, that is also in the new catalogue (I LOVE that new punch board, so easy to make fantastic boxes really quickly and easily!). After I had made the pumpkin, I began to think about what else I could make using the Curvy Keepsake Thinlets for Halloween and gosh, so many ideas sprang into my head! I decided to make a black witch's cat next... Just after I'd made the cat, I saw, on a facebook group, THE most amazing idea for a witch using the same thinlits. It was made by a lady called Lynn Starzl in America, so, I just had to CASE her idea and make a witch to complete my Halloween trio. Come and see: HOW cute is that witch?!! :O) Thank you Lynn! I love the use of the burlap ribbon strands for her hair and the hat is made from another of my favourite new things from the Autumn/Winter catalogue: the new Tree Punch!! So clever! The witch's hat slots over the box handles, so, it can easily be removed when you want to open the box and get to the treats inside! How clever is that?! I used the Owl Builder Punch for both the cat's and the witch's eyes and nose. The whiskers were hand-drawn with my white uni-ball Signo® Gel Pen. The cats ears are cut down from the Small Oval punch shapes. I DO love Stampin' Up's punches - they are just SO versatile! I have also used the same Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits to make several Christmas-themed boxes, other animals and even an Easter Chick (a little bit ahead of myself there, I know, but it shows that the catalogue items are not just for Autumn and Christmas!!). I will show you more ideas on future blog posts, so do come back again soon to see them. They are quite addictive once you start making them! :O) Anyway, that's enough from me for today; I hope that I have inspired you to "think outside the box" when looking at the new catalogue products and can see how many other ways you can use them all! Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog-hop post today. Sarah's blog is next, so hop on over using the button below. Happy hopping everyone! Hello and welcome back.... I so love Spring, seeing all the lambs in the fields and we do have rather a lot here in Wales....lol, so I thought I would make a Lamb Curvy Keepsake Box. Aren't they just adorable, now a lot of the punches I used to use to do my punch art are no longer available so its always a struggle to find something to replace them with but I think I have done really well with theses adorable lambs. The fluffy tufts on their heads are the smallest flower die from the Bloomin' Heart Framelits with the tiny flower from the Tree builder punch in the middle...cute huh. The ears are from the Pyramid Pals Thinlits dies and the head is a 2" circle punched out of Basic Black card and then cut down either side. The eyes are the 1/4" and 1/8" circle punches. I cut the box pieces out of Thick Whisper White Card and stamped them with the curly stamp from the Playful Pals stamp set, then I assembled the boxes and stuck the finished head on to the box with dimensionals. On the back of the box I added a little tail, made with one of the dies from the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Die set. So very cute...
Pin It Check out the fabulous Curvy keepsake box. We had a lot of fun. Susan Adams made the turkey box. You can do so many things with these cute little boxes. Our favorite way to embellish them is by cutting the pieces in half on the top so you can open it with out having to take all the cute stuff off. The clips worked great for this. If we put all the ribbon and on the clip it was easy to put back on after you open it. See how we cut our pieces in half. To use 2 different sides, fold your paper like the picture shows. You will need two of them. Cut one of them in half and adhere to the bottom of the one that you didn't cut. S&P Recipe: Curvy Keepsake box Thinlit die (135853)

Earlier this week I had a FABULOUS evening crafting with friends. Yup, that's what a Stampin' Up! party is all about!! I brought all the supplies to make a couple of fun projects, and this little Halloween bat box was one of them. Do you recognize the Curvy Keepsake Box…
I know I am a little late jumping in to share a project made with the new Curvy Keepsake Box die. There are a ton of adorable projects all over Pinterest that use this new die and honestly, I didn't...
Yep, still playing with the new thinlits die that will be in the upcoming Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog, going live on August 28th! One witch I used the new Tree Punch for the triangular hat and the other witch uses the Circles Collection framelits for the hat base and then I made my own triangles for the top. As in my snowman, the hat just slips over the box handles making it easy to reach the treats inside. The "hair" is pulling threads from the Burlap Ribbon. My witch color is Old Olive.
Produkte! Good morning! I'm a little late getting my blogging done today...time just got away from me! I have a couple of new Curvy Keepsake Box creations to share with you today! I have SO MANY that I want to make...especially as the holidays get closer! So here are just a couple! I have been wanting to make a reindeer so I finally got busy and did it! Didn't he turn out cute?! I made this little guy out of Soft Suede card stock...be sure to ink the edges. The face is made with the smallest oval framelit, the ears are made with the small oval punch and the antlers are made with the stem from the Flower Fair framelits. I think I will make all of the reindeer from Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer....what a cute set that will be for Christmas! My lion was FUN to make...it brought back a lot of memories. When my oldest child was little, I made him a lion costume for Halloween and I used gobs of ribbon for his mane....each one of my kiddos wore it as well! I'm gonna have to drag out those photos! So I thought...why can't I do that for a Curvy Keepsake Box...and I could...so I did! I used the 1/4" Cotton Ribbon....don't you just love him!! His face was punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch, the cheeks with the 1" circle punch and the nose with the new little heart punch. To attach the ribbon...I simply put red sticky tape on the back of his face and looped the ribbon...I looped two layers...one short...and one a little longer. Then I added a 2" punched circle in Early Espresso to the back so only the mane shows from the back as well! Well that's all I have for you today... Happy Friday...I hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND! FRIDAY...the golden child of the weekdays. The superhero of the workweek. The welcome wagon to the weekend. The famous F word we thank God for every week!
Are you ready for Halloween? Do you make treats for friends or Trick or Treaters? Here are a few pictures I took of stamped gift projects when I was in Utah. I actually went to a class at another Demonstrators house; Susan Adams! It was awesome and so fun to make things I didn't have to prep and plan for! These projects were made by her friend, Janet Baker; she is so talented and very creative! These are our Fry...
Hey there! Today we’re sharing our swaps for the 2015 Gold Coast Convention: Butterfly Curvy Keepsake Boxes.
Hello and welcome back to another Curvy Keepsake Wednesday... I have a fantastic little box to share with you today, if you are a follower of Game of Thrones then you will love this box, its a Red Dragon... I am so loving this little chap, His body is a basic Curvy Keepsake Box in Real Red card assembled in the normal way and I have sponged Real Red ink around all the edges. His tummy is the Extra Large Oval punch in Cherry Cobbler card, I assembled the head before attaching this to the box. The Wings are the Extra Large Oval shaped using the small Oval punch. How cute is that tail, its a triangle of card 9 cm x 3 cm, then I used the small Oval Punch to cut grooves in it. I shaped it with a bone folder before attaching it to the box. For the head I used the 1 3/8" Circle Punch and cut 2, (one for the front and one for the back) I then used my paper snips and shaped the head by taking a small groove out of each side and one out of the top. Next I punched out a Large Oval and cut a small groove in it to shape the snout. I used the large circle from the Owl Builder Punch to create the nostrils. For the eyes I used the large circle from the Owl Builder Punch and punched out 2 white and one red. For the Black pupils I used the leaf from the Bird builder punch. I assembled the eyes and added them to the face and then added highlights with a White gel pen. The ears are the wing from the Bird Builder Punch and the fire coming from his mouth is the birds tail also from the Bird Builder Punch, I cut 2 in Crushed Curry and 1 in Pumpkin Pie. To finish the head I used a small Oval behind the muzzle and then stuck the head to a piece of card 1/2" x 1 1/2" (neck) then to tidy up the back of the head I stuck the second head piece I cut out at the beginning. Hello! I am loving the Curvy Keepsake Box Framelit die right now and even before mine came I decided I wanted to make it up using the pa...
Ah, my little blog! I find sticking to it tough, when I'm pretty sure I'm talking to myself...however in the genre of keeping a diary...I'm going to start back at it...I haven't kept a diary for a lot of years now...but I have dozens of filled books from my 20's and before...having children and being happy seems to take precedent over self-exploration! I remember travelling with a friend of the day and laughing as she stated the only times she wrote in her travel journal was when she was lonely, sad and cranky..and what fun that would be to read when she was an old woman! : D I recently pulled out a couple old diaries and one evening was interrupted in my reading one of my entires. Later that evening, when leaving a friend's place, I told her I was really excited to get back home to finish reading a few more pages in my diary, I told her I didn't know what was gong to happen next and couldn't wait to find out! LOL ~ I'm glad I wrote quite a few entries to keep this tangled brain on track as I get older! Sometimes I photocopied a letter I sent home before mailing it...for the exact reason my friend had said about cranky entries...Generally, when we wrote home, we sent newsy, happy accounts of what we'd been up to...so it rounded out any lonely entries. We're talking the old days, when travelling for several months meant maybe one phone collect call home and otherwise no other contact with back home except the one way communication by us via postcards and the odd letter... Loved the adventure! So if you'd like to follow along, I'm going to start regular entries. I've been quite keen on the idea of sending a little love through the mail via a card over the past couple years, but not as diligent as I was few years ago. A Challenge was recently issued to send off 40 cards during Lent...so, bolstered by a number of other women joining this challenge, I'm going to start back at it and create a habit of something I heartily agree with! Tomorrow, I'll post a funny story of meeting up with the author, Jason F Wright, at our recent Leadership Conference. He was our fabulous keynote speaker, and I was lucky enough to meet up with him afterwards! This is one of the Curvy boxes I made back in December for my Daughter's tree...Seven Swans a Swimming! smiles, Laurie

Back in 2012 a cute little lion called Blossom visited my blog & he's been a fave & very popular little guy with blog visitors since. So of course I had to recreate him when I was in the middle of my curvy Keepsake box character obsession (back in October-November). I kept meaning to share the boxes but something else kept getting in the way. That is, until this week when (to my horror) I remembered that Blossom's punch namesake is on our list of retiring products. Noooo! Thankfully, the fabulous Curvy Keepsake box die will be carrying over to our new Annual Catalogue so definite sigh of relief from me about that :-) Anyway, I'm sure you want to see Blossom's updated look so here he is: You can see his cute little face & blossom punch mane & paws better in this pic. I sponged all the main punched pieces with crumb cake ink to add some extra depth. Can you work out which punches make Blossom? Well, you don't have to as I've here's a pic of my chart showing all the punches/shapes & there are links to all items below (click on the pic to see a bigger view). As of today, the blossom punch is still available to purchase, but will be gone for good on June 2nd...if it doesn't sell out before. So, if you don't have it, then get it now, as it's such a useful punch for punch art, butterflies & of course flowers (with it's matching stamp set, Mixed Bunch). Here's a final image of all 3 pics so you can pin or save it for later too. Thanks for visiting today & I hope Blossom brought a smile to your face. If you have any questions about him or want to say hello, just leave me a comment. Pop back soon, as I have lots more boxes to share. It's always a delight to receive orders for my handmade products especially at Christmas. These curvy keepsake boxes were made for one (large!) family so I thought I would make several designs so that people could "ohh" and "ahh" over what everyone else received. Making multiple designs also keeps the fun in the craft and doesn't let it get to be a tedious production line. The design possibilities are endless but keep in mind when making them in bulk that you want to keep things interesting for you and not overly labour intensive. These are full size curvy keepsake boxes (heartbreakingly now retired), but you could easily adapt them to fit the mini curvy keepsake dies. The first design is simple but effective and uses designer series paper for the interior panels. I made 5 in one paper and 5 in another. The second design was the most time consuming but the ones I enjoyed making the most because I got to sit and colour with Blends for a couple of hours. Are't the little Christmas gnomes from Gnome for the Holidays just the cutest? On the back I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set, Holly Jolly Everything. For the third design I pulled out the heat tool and embossing powder to add some festive reindeer, from the Festive Post stamp set, onto the Shaded Spruce cardstock. I finished these off with some cute little Jingle Bells. Which is your favourite design? NOTE: I began writing this a few weeks ago but realized I needed more pictures if the tutorial was going to make sense. Panic set in when I couldn't locate my Curvy Keepsake Box thinlit. The last time I had used it was at the Charity Scrapbooking Crop which I had attended and for which I provided make-n-takes. A frantic phone call to the organizer did not turn up the missing thinlit, nor did her messages to the attendees. And so this post was put on hold. What good would it be without the appropriate photos to show precisely how to make my little adapted tummy box? Time passed and finally, a couple of days ago I pulled the comforter out of the back of my SUV, intending to clean it since the dogs had been all over it. And suddenly I heard a metallic clang---a soft one, but still, a clang. I checked the cement floor of the garage and there it was! My thinlit had jumped out of the bag into which I had packed it after the Crop and was just hanging out, having a good old time travelling around with me. Well, no more. I've put it to work again and here it is. My tutorial is finally ready. I love using the Curvy Keepsake Box. I've used it countless times as it was designed to be used, and decorated it up with great success. I've even used it as a wrap, adapting it to be used with just two sides. That has been a lot of fun and well received. And then I designed the Tummy Boxes, another adaptation of the Curvy Keepsake Box. These have been terrific little gift boxes for Christmas but could be used anytime, for all sorts of different occasions. Here, if you haven't seen it yet, is my little Snowman Tummy Box: He's easy to make. I'm going to lead you through the process and have taken pictures as I've gone along. The fun thing is that once you've made my little snowman, the sky is the limit. You can change the colours of cardstock and make a gingerbread man, Santa, any of the elves or even a reindeer. Your imagination is your limit with this adaption of the Curvy Keepsake Box. Ready? Let's begin. For the initial box you'll need the Curvy Keepsake Box thinlit, of course. Before I began cutting, I took a black marker and drew lines on the sides of my thinlit as shown: If you find this difficult to read, on the left it says 2" from cutting bar. (this will be the front). On the right it says 1 1/2" from cutting bar. (this will be a side). Materials: Heavy weight Whisper White, piece 1: 4" x 6 1/2" Heavy weight Whisper White, piece 2: 4" x 4 1/2" Real Red cardstock, optional: 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" 24" of your choice of 1/8" ribbon. Tear & Tape Adhesive Tools: Big Shot Curvy Keepsake Thinlit 1/8" Hole Punch Scissors Step-by-step photos: Now assemble your box the way you normally would, using the adhesive of your choice to hold the bases together. I've used Fast Fuse because I find it holds beautifully. Then, if you wish to have a liner for your base, adhere the piece of Real Red to the inside bottom. I also used my scissors to curve the corners of the front. Cut your piece of ribbon. Find the center of the ribbon and place the ribbon across the back of the box, on top of the Tear & Tape Adhesive. You are now ready to begin lacing the ribbon through the holes you've punched. Once you've pulled the ribbon through the punched holes, as shown, you can pull the sides and front up and tie the bow in front. And that is basically how to make the Adapted Curvy Keepsake Box. It becomes the "tummy" of whatever character you decide to make. The following is how I've made it into a snowman. I've shaded around the perimeter of the head by using a sponge and Basic Grey ink. I drew the eyes using my Basic Black Stampin' Marker as well as all those little "pieces of coal" which make up his mouth. The nose is actually the ice-cream cone framelit from the Snow Friends framelits with the "ice-cream" cut into a smaller circle. It was cut from a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock and the little "carrot-wrinkles" were hand-drawn using the Tangelo Twist Stampin' Marker. I used the Blushing Bride Stampin' Marker to colour in his cheeks. You can see that I've curved the "arms" from the baby's onesie for the brim of the hat and also curved the top of the hat. I glued a piece of the matching striped ribbon around the hat and attached a sprig of holly using the Snow Friends framelit and matching stamp. Finally, the arms. If you follow my lines, you can get both arms from the circle which you've already cut. You can see how easily the circle becomes two arms. I used Tombo glue to attach the head and arms after sponging a bit of Basic Grey to give the body, arms and head some "dimension". I attached a blank white circle to the back of the head to hide the cut-out from the Curvy Keepsake Die. You can see how everything is attached from the back. Lastly I used the Owl Builder Punch and cut five little circles (the second largest of the punch) and attached them to his body and the front of the box. This is the completed little snowman. He's a lot of fun to make and his "tummy" holds a lot of candies. As you can see, a lot of candies fit into his waiting tummy. And here, just for fun, is a little Gingerbread "tummy" Man which I created from the Kraft paper. I hope you enjoy making your own little "tummy" people and animals. Your imagination is your limit. If you have any questions, just email me or ask in my comment section. I'd love to see your creations, as well. I've entered my little Gingerbread "tummy" Guy into the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge. And I've also entered him into the {PIN}spirational Challenge.
