I had a bit of time to play in my craft room today, and worked on replenishing my stock of sympathy cards. I used this week's Retro Sketches #44 as my sketch. I used Vintage Cream card stock and PTI Harvest Berries for my focal point. The smaller bit of branch is popped up with foam tape. I used a stamp from Background Basics Text Style in Ocean Tides for the left panel. After I finished the card, I wondered how it would look in another color, and also with a bit of texture. I made another similar card using Scarlet Jewel and the Canvas & Linen Impression Plate on the main panel. I also switched the ink color to grey on the text stamping. Here they are together. Which do you think is better? My next card is for the current Serendipity challenge, which is to make a winter birthday card. I am lucky enough to have a friend in high places (i.e. on the design team), and Cathy was kind enough to send me some stamped images so I could play along. I am also entering this card into this week's Simon Says Challenge 'New Something'. This beautiful Serendipity stamped image is new to me.
