I love the new Ginkgo Branch Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! mini catalog. With the dies and two of the beautiful sentiments, I created these two notecards: I started with a Basic White notecard…

I thought this month's February SU! Colour Challenge colors showcased the Gingko Stamps and Dies at their best with some Stamping Off and Small Blending Brushes. I started stamping off with the Ginkgo Stamp onto the Shimmery White Card Front which gives a soft sparkle to the whole card. I cut the details die cut in vellum and the Shimmery White. I used the Small Blending Brushes to colour the Shimmery White die cut element and you can see the shimmer through it! I added the sentiment and cut with the matching die. I finished the card with a few Pastel Pearls. My Granddaughter and myself had some card making fun in a recent video making 2 cards using the Stampin' Up! Ginkgo Branches Stamps and Dies and Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper which are on Last Chance List so GRAB THEM whilst they are available. We started choosing the Fancy Flora Paper and then stamped in Versamark on the Designer Series Paper to see if we could get a Water Mark - we didn't so we coated it in Clear Embossing Powder for a beautiful shine. We cut the Stunning Fine Shimmer (Soft Succulent) adding it above the the Gingko Branch sentiment that is stamped in Soft Sea Foam Ink. Global Design Project Case the Designer Challenge #388. I liked the overall card layout and created my own background design and added the die cut images similar to the card to case as well. I used the Stampin' Up! Ginkgo Branch bundle for my "Thinking of You" card. For my card base I used Basic White cardstock. For my background technique, I started with Basic White cardstock and added color with Blending Brushes and Fresh Freesia, Old Olive & Daffodil Delight inks. (I created two backgrounds so that I could die cut on the other for the sentiment and Ginkgo branches). I heat set to make sure the ink was completely dried before the next step. And finally, I flicked water onto the inked cardstock using my fingertips, until I liked how it looked, and let that dry (since I'm impatient, I used my heat tool to speed up the process). The ginkgo branches were die cut on the second background I created and adhered similar to the card to case. On the remaining cardstock piece I stamped the sentiment using Old Olive ink and die cut. I die cut another sentiment strip with Basic White cardstock and cut each end of the strip about 1/2 inch from each side and trimmed/snipped the sides at an angle inward (so it wouldn't show), and adhered these behind the sentiment strip with adhesive, leaving it showing on each end. Finally, I adhered the sentiment with dimensionals. The card was embellished using Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems. I stamped the Gingko leaf on the front of the envelope and the envelope flap. Inside my card I stamped the image by stamping part of the stamp with Daffodil Delight ink and the other half with Old Olive ink. Next, I used a Sponge Dauber to "blend" the lines between both inks, before stamping onto the white cardstock. Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card. *************************************************************** I would love it if you would SUBSCRIBE to my BLOG. A study published in the Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease confirms that extracts of one of the oldest plants in existence today, the ‘living fossil’ known as Gingko biloba, protects against stroke-related neurologic deficits in human subjects. Researchers suggest Ginkgo biloba could "afford neuroprotection and improve the outcomes of patients with acute ischemic stroke." By Contributing Writer Sayer Ji
