Sometimes you just want to switch up a traditional card and go for a fun fold, but an easy fold! This one could not be easier! All you have to do is cut a regular card base, 11" X 4 1/4. I then scored it at 5 1/2" and again at 2 3/4". Then use your bone folder to crease those score lines in a Z pattern and decorate as you wish! I decided to bring out one of the Best of Series Stamps, the Best of Flowers. I used a blender pen and Tangerine Tango and Pistachio Pudding to color in the flower. The DSP is from our new Watercolor Wonder, which I absolutely adore! The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Bring on the Cake. A little accent with one of our In Color Boutique Details and this card is sure to make anyone you send it to 'ohhh and ahhh'! I had the honor of attending SU's Red Carpet Premier in Raleigh, NC and I am now the proud owner of SU's 2014-15 catalog. Just wait until you see their new In-Colors, papers and stamp sets. Everything is gorgeous, and when you see the catalog, I know you'll say the same. Two of my favorites from the Spring Mini catalog is the Happy Watercolor stamp set and the Watercolor Wonder dsp. I am going to be sad to see them go on June 1, 2014. Though I used this very versatile set and paper for my April classes, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to use them again for my May 2014 classes. Recipe: Stamps: Happy Watercolor, Petite Pairs; Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral card stock, and Watercolor Wonder DSP; Ink: Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe; Accessories: Big Shot, Deco Framelits, Square Lattice embossing folder, Banner Punch, Gold Foil, dimensionals. I hold adult classes each month, and a bi-monthly Kids Camp. If you live near my home at 555 Williamsdale Road, Graham, NC 27253 and would like to attend any of my classes, please let me know. Check out my May 2014 class schedule right here on my blog, or on my SU website found Here If you would like to purchase any of the supplies to make this card, please feel free to contact me directly, or order from my Stampin Up! website found Here You, Lord are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you. Psalm 86:5 Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day, ~Linda
Let me start off by saying I love the Designer Series Papers in the new Occasions Catalog!!! My card today features the Watercolor Wonder DSP. I usually horde my papers but I couldn't wait to use these papers once I opened the pack. The card base was made with island indigo card stock. Then I layered the Watercolor Wonder paper. I used the other side of the designer paper to punch the tiny hearts using the small heart punch. Banners are still so popular, why not a heart banner. The rhinestones held the hearts together. I also used the designer paper to die cut the frame for the "sentiment". The "sentiment" is from the Happy Watercolor stamp set. I didn't think I'd ever use that particular stamp but it went perfectly with the sentiment I stamped inside the card. The twine is from Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack, one of the 2014 Sell A Bration free items. Starting on January 28 until March 31st, every $50 purchase from Stampin'Up will get you one of the many free Sale A Bration products. Here's the inside. One thing I've never done before is to layer designer paper for the inside of my card which I did on this card after I stamped the sentiment from Really Good Greetings stamp set. Isn't that perfect with the sentiment on the front? I added blings on the two hearts after I took the picture. I can't wait to make another card. Stay tuned for more cards using one of my new favorite designer paper. And if you want to purchase any of the supplies and tools I used on this card, click HERE and start shopping. Thank you for stopping by today. Cheers!!! irene
Here are the fun projects we made at the 3D Project/Big Shot/Gift Item Club this month!! We were focused on Easter this month!! It was so great to work with the fabulous Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper - it really got me in the mood for spring!! This first project is a fun Easter basket - just fill it with some Easter grass and your favorite Easter candy, and you're all set!! This basket is so easy to assemble... Just take a 12x12 piece of cardstock (we used Calypso Coral), and score it at 4" and 8" on both sides. Fold along all score lines. Next, fold each of the corners in to meet the other score line so that you create a triangle flap at each corner. Then, fold these triangles in to overlap each other on two sides. Add a ribbon to each side of the box (we attached our Crushed Curry 3/4" Chevron Ribbon to a piece of cardstock to give it some sturdiness), punch a hole through it all and hold together with a brad. It really is simple!! Next, we added a piece of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper to the front of the basket and tied an Organza Ribbon around the DSP. Then, we stamped "happy easter" and that cute bunny (in Wild Wasabi ink) from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set and die-cut that piece (and the Daffodil Delight circle) using the Circle Framelits. Finally, we mounted those pieces on a Wild Wasabi piece die-cut with the Starburst Framelit Dies. Crushed Curry 3/4" Chevron Ribbon 130019 $8.95 Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper 132994 $10.95 Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon 114319 $5.95 Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set wood-mount 133068 $15.95 Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set clear-mount 133071 $11.95 Circle Framelits 130911 $26.95 Starburst Framelit Dies 132967 $26.95 This is our next project... Thanks so much to Vicky at Crafting Clares Paper Moments for this cute Easter bonnet idea!! We die-cut the Daffodil Delight "bonnet" with the Circle Framelits, then we filled a Sweet Treat Cup with some Easter M&Ms and sealed that to the circle. Next, we tied a Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon around the bonnet. Then, we punched those cute flowers (using the Boho Blossoms Punch) and the leaves (using the Bird Punch) and added them to the Sweet Treat Cup with Mini Glue Dots. Finally, we added some pearls to the flowers to complete the dainty bonnet treat!! Sweet Treat Cups 116802 $2.95 Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon 126872 $4.95 Boho Blossoms Punch 119858 $16.95 Bird Punch 117191 $16.95 Mini Glue Dots 103683 $4.95 Pearl Basic Jewels 119247 $4.95 Here's the last project we made at class this month... It also features the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (this time in Gumball Green and Island Indigo shades), along with the Decorative Dots Impression folder (a FREE Sale-a-Bration item with any $50 order!!). We stamped those beautiful tulips and the "Wishes for a Blessed Easter" in Black Stazon ink directly on the piece of Watercolor Wonder DSP (no coloring of the tulips is required - the DSP does it for us!!). Next, we added those cute flowers using the Petite Petals punch and added more of those fabulous pearls to the center of the flowers. Decorative Dots Impression Folder FREE Blessed Easter 133212 $11.95 Black Stazon Ink 101406 $7.95 Petite Petals Punch 133322 $12.95 I hope you enjoyed these projects!! Well I did it.. for the month of January I had committed to blogging almost every day. And the couple of days that I didn't, I made up for it by blogging twice on another day. So all up, I posted 33 times in January. I am really interested now to know what people think.. is it too much? Or do people like more constant updates? Feel free to comment below (or on my Business Facebook page) and let me know what you think. You can also "like" the Facebook page to see what else I get up to :-) Of course, part of the reason for the extra posting has been that there has been so much going on with new products and releases... and STILL I have managed to miss a few things... like the fact that the Clearance Rack has been updated with some new items at silly prices. Which is fantastic news for you girls that like a bargain. Visit my Online Store and then click "Clearance Rack" to see what's new. So today's project is something else new from our lovely new Occasions Catalogue that began last week. I am loving the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (DSP)... it is simply beautiful! In fact I thought this particular design was so beautiful that I didn't even want to add a lot of embellishment to it... just a sentiment seemed enough for this one. Here is the whole paper pack: But seriously, until you see it "in the flesh", you really cant appreciate how beautiful it is! The pack of twelve 12"x12" sheets, double-sided, is only $18.95. In particular these are lovely for Scrapbook pages as well as cards and other projects. Enjoy today's little card, and remember to check back here often for more ideas and projects. I also create a new technique or project video each week, so dont forget to look out for that. And remember to check out the Online store.. Online ordering is easy and no-fuss... straight to your door! Enjoy xx
I love products where all the hard work is done for you. That's definitely the case with these Watercolor Wonder notecards. I've stretched mine a bit further by chopping off the front and mounting them onto some Smoky Slate cards. I then used the back pieces to cut out my banners (although you could just as easily use them to make a second set of cards!) All of my sentiments are from the Perfect Pennants stamp set. A few flowers, butterflies and sequins for embellishment and I was done! Email me to place your order, or click HERE to Shop Now Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards & Envelopes $22.95 Perfect Pennants $51.95 Banners Framelits Dies $45.95 Gold Sequin Trim $8.95 Petite Petals Punch $18.95 Bitty Butterfly Punch $27.95 Table by StampinBuddy. This is a quick post this morning as my to do list seems to be growing minute by minute! I never seem to have enough birthday cards ready ahead of time so I thought I would use the current CAS(e) this Sketch challenge to get a bit ahead. The colors were some that I had seen somewhere out and about shopping and had written down to be used on a card. Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral. The flowers from Flower Patch were stamped and then cut out with the matching Flower Fair framelit. They are popped up with dimensionals along the edge of the subtle DSP pattern from the retired pack Watercolor Wonder. I used rhinestones on the flowers and along the cotton ribbon that highlights the sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes that was stamped in Smoky Slate ink. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Stamps: Flower Patch, Endless Birthday Wishes Ink: Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral Paper: Smoky Slate, Watercolor Wonder DSP (retired), Whisper White Accessories: Flower Fair framelits, rhinestones, corner rounder, cotton ribbon, dimensionals
I'm still fighting off this ridiculous coughing and headache. Of course the headache comes from the coughing, so it's a vicious cycle. It does feel a bit better though, just wiped out. Before I show you today's cards, I just want to put a little teaser out here that Stampin' Up! has some really great things in store for us as Demonstrators, which means we'll have great things in store for you, our customers. One of them will be my very favorite and it has to do with the Clear Photopolymer Stamps. As most of you know, I absolutely LOVE the Clear Photopoly stamps we have been working with and it sounds like there will be more in our future. I'm so very exited about this!! Now, on to the card. Here's a quick and easy card. I forget where I saw the idea for making these watercolor circles into balloons, but I believe it was on Frenchie's blog (Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie). Too many meds to think very clearly - lol. I just know I saw it and it was just so cute, I had to give it a try. Sketch challenges are my favorite - I love getting all of the pieces to work together. Working in my craft room using Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry and Cindy's sketch definitely made me happy this week. I see Miss Emma is rocking those colors as well - in her own way of course. Sometimes all you need to be happy is a pickup truck, the breeze in your hair and a friend riding shotgun........ Cindy designed a sweet sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches! Hope you join us! SUO Challenge 95 is to use a flower or two or three! I am definitely ready for flowers!
