Hi friends! I snuck away for a little time in my studio during naptime this morning. The color challenge on SCS today was right up my alley.. marina mist, midnight muse and baja breeze. I added crumb cake as my neutral and the dessert option of gems. The stamps on this card are from the new Surely Goodness set from Verve. I stamped the solid flower in marina mist, baja breeze and midnight muse on the crumb cake layer, added some faux stitching with a paper piercer and a crumb cake marker and then spritzed the cardstock with crumb cake and baja breeze using my air art tool. The focal flower is stamped and then cut with the coordinating Goodness Flowers Die Set. Then I stamped it again in Versamark ink and embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder and popped up on dimensionals. The flower centers are accented with rhinestones which I colored to match with Copic markers. A little pleated ribbon treatment is my only other embellishment. The baja breeze layer is stamped with the largest flower from Surely Goodness in Marina Mist and then I distressed the edges to finish. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic day! Enabler's List Stamps: Surely Goodness (Verve Stamps) Paper: Marina Mist, Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake (SU!) "Playing Favorites", December Diva Dare Welcome to the last Diva Dare of 2013! This month's Dare is entitled "Playing Favorites" and it is a fun one indeed! What we're daring you to do this month is to post your favorite Verve Stamps 2013 creation OR make a new card using your favorite Verve stamp set. Hi Verve Fans! It's Charmaine here and I'm excited to bring you Day 11 of this month's Diva Dare. All of the Divas have been posting their favorite Verve creations of the year, but it would take me too long to decide which ones are my favorite! I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch and created a new card using a favorite Verve set! I have LOTS of favorite Verve sets, but Verve sentiments have always been my fave. Out of all of the sentiment sets at Verve, Words of Wisdom is probably the one I grab most. I love the sentiments and I adore the fonts. As I was looking through past Verve creations, I realized that I also have the most cards using this particular sentiment as well!! So, I guess I really do have a single favorite! LOL This sentiment just makes me happy and is a great reminder for me to "not sweat the small stuff"! The papers are from the Here and Now Collection from Echo Park. This card also uses the Award Banner Trim Die. As a fun extra this month, the Divas are answering "The Diva Fab Five Questionnaire." Here goes! 1. Your three favorite Verve products--My three favorite Verve products are any of the ribbons, probably the Classy Label Die (since I seem to use that a lot) and I'm going to go vague and say Verve sentiments! :) 2. Your current go-to color combination--I don't really have a go-to color combination. I tend to always use bright, happy colors and that color combination really depends on the patterned paper set I'm using. 3. Your current go-to embellishment--I use Verve's seam binding ribbon A LOT!! I just LOVE it! I don't usually add a ton of embellishments to a card, but if I do add something, it's usually the seam binding! 4. Your favorite stamping or organizational tool--my favorite stamping tool would probably be my Big Shot. I use it for every card I make whether I'm embossing something or diecutting. Couldn't live without it! ;) 5. Your favorite treat--I don't eat while stamping. I never have. When I'm stamping I'm usually so focused on what I'm creating I can't even think about eating. I've tried to bring my coffee into the studio with me when I stamp first thing in the morning, but it ends up getting cold because I forget about it! LOL Deadline to link your cards is 8PM Mountain on Thursday, December 26th. Entries must be posted 12/6 or later, include at least one Verve product, be your favorite Verve Stamps creation of 2013 or a new creation using your favorite Verve Stamps set, and be linked up to the linky widget by 8pm Mountain on 12/26/13. As an reminder, last month's $40 gift certificate winner did not use any Verve stamps on her card so she was not eligible to win and we had to draw another winner. During this month's Diva Dare, there are 2 prizes up for grabs! Win a $40 Gift voucher to Verve Stamps! Take our "Playing Favorites" Dare and link up your card (created December 6th or later) to the linky widget on Day 1 to be eligible to win. One participant will be randomly selected to win the gift voucher. You can enter as many times as you like, but each card needs to be in a separate post. Win a set of your choice! For another chance to win some new Verve, leave a little comment love on our design team's "Playing Favorites" Diva Dare posts! One lucky commenter will win a Verve stamp set of his or her choice, so be sure to tune in each day! Comment deadline to be entered in our prize drawing is December 26, 2013. Winners will be announced on December 27, 2013. - Go forth and get inky! We DARE you!
Welcome back to Day 2 of Verve's July Release Spotlight Hops! The Verve Divas and special guests are back for another day of spotlighting our new release! Everything previewed this week will be available to order in the Verve online shop on Monday, July 10. And if you just can't wait, you can pre-order our July Release Collection at a 25% discount through July 9! Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Happiness Is stamp set and coordinating Happiness in a Cup Die Set. If you got here from Maureen's blog you are in the right place! This is another great set! I love the different ways you can mix and match the sentiments. This is a great card for a friend or love one who you meet for coffee and good conversation as frequently as possible. For my card I chose to combine these two sentiments. I mixed some pattern papers with a fun layout and started stamping. I used some enchanted evening ink to try to match the blue in the background pattern. I added the stamped die cut pattern mug to the top of the pile so to speak for some added fun! I finished with a few clear sequins. Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win today's featured products! So be sure to leave a little comment on all the blogs below to increase your chances! Check out the Verve Blog today for the full hop list, a little more about our new products and all the prize info and deadlines! 1. Julee 7. Teresa 2. Kathy (Guest) 8. Maureen 3. Sheri (Guest) 9. Happy Monday! It's the beginning of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch. Since it's the last sketch of August, it's a round or square week! I hope you'll play along, it's always fun to see everyone's non-traditional cards! This week's sketch was inspired by this little butterfly card I made a while back. I liked the layout, but yesterday when I went to make a new card with the sketch I felt like stepping outside the lines a bit. Shocking, I know! LOL I never like to make the same card twice, so I started by flipping the sketch, trading the circle for a flower and using the greenery as the photo corner element. I think it turned out kinda neat! I had some Lost & Found My Mind's Eye paper scraps on my desk from an earlier card and pulled out some Life is Good Echo Park paper scraps to add to it. The flower, sentiment and greenery are from the new Great Friend Set. The flower is stamped onto the newsprint lost & found paper, then cut out and layered. Next I stamped the leafy sprig on ivory in Wild Wasabi, then cut out and layered behind the flower on top of the notebook paper from the Blue Skies set. The sentiment is also stamped in Wild Wasabi and I added a cute little Tim Holtz mini paper clip for accent. Most of the layers are sponged with Pumice Stone distress ink and I curled a couple corners, distressed the edges and added a little vintage lace trim. My final little accents were some Black Stardust Stickles and some new little 4mm peridot rhinestones to accent the flowers on the paper and a gorgeous green with gold rimstone for the flower center, both from Pizzazz Aplenty. This card also qualifies for the Something Old, Something New Project Parade Challenge to use a new set with an older set. Be sure to head on over to the Verve Blog today for the next installment in our parade, then play along with us for a chance to win some Verve! Okay, that's it from me this fine Monday morning! Hope you have a fabulous start to your week! Thanks for stopping by!
Hello Verve fans, Christyne here welcoming you to day 4 of the July Diva Dare! Inside Out - July Diva Dare This month we're daring you to create a stamped card and continue the design on the inside for a special surprise for the recipient. Simply carry over some portion of the card front design on to the inside of your card. Here is my card, beginning with the outside: I took this opportunity to ink up the beautiful new butterfly in the Happy Place set and cut it out using the new Happy Doodles Die Set. While the outside is pretty simple, using this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO354) as an inspiration, I carried some of the design elements along to the inside of the card. For my sentiment, I inked up the beautiful Where Flowers Bloom PJ since is coordinated well with my "Smile" from the Happy Place set on the outside. Here is the inside of the card: Two ways to win prizes for double the fun! Win a $40 gift voucher to Verve! Take our Inside Out dare and link up your card to be eligible to win. Entries must have an element from the front of your card carried over to the inside, be posted 7/14 or later, include at least one Verve product and be linked up to the linky widget by 8pm Mountain on 7/31/14. One participant will be randomly selected to win the gift voucher. You can enter as many times as you like, but each card needs to be in a separate post. Win a Verve set of your choice! Winners will be announced on August 1, 2014.
Hey there Verve fans, it's Andrea here welcoming you to Day Two of our July Diva Dare! Because it's been a while since we've done one of these, we thought we'd give you a little reminder on how it works. We post a theme we dare you with, and you'll have two weeks to complete the challenge. During those two weeks, the release team will post their creations and tell you how they answered the dare. This month, we dare you to make a card or project using a BIRTHDAY theme. July happens to be a big birthday month here at Verve...five of our Divas have July birthdays, including the boss lady, Julee. Let's celebrate with some fun birthday projects, shall we? We can't wait to see how you answer the dare! (Stay tuned to see how you could win some shiny new Verve!) Here's what I came up with … My goal was to use this week's Mojo Monday sketch so I started with My Mind's Eye Howdy Doody papers and shabbed them up a bit. The larger sentiment is from Verve's Hundred Hearts set. I wanted to make this a birthday card for a friend, and in addition to the birthday theme, I also wanted to let this person know how much she means to me as well. I used Verve's A Cut Above Tiny Sweet Scallop die for the birthday portion of the sentiment. "Happy Birthday" is from the Big Wish set and the "My Friend" is actually from two different sets, the Munchkin Phrases and Friendly Phrases sets, respectively. Each sentiment panel is sponged with Antique Linen distress ink and matted with black to accentuate the shapes. Some of Verve's dies have mat dies included in the set and it was fabulous that the Tiny Sweet Scallop die I used had a die just for matting! Ok, so....... Would you like a chance to win some fabulous new VERVE GOODIES? There are two ways to win: Play along with our Birthday Diva Dare. Link up your creation (posted July 16 or later) to the linky widget below before 6:00 pm MT on Sunday, July 29. One lucky stamper will win a $30 gift certificate to the Verve Store. Verve Stamps are not required, but if you've got 'em we would love to see 'em! For another chance to win, be sure to give the Divas a little shout-out in the comments section as we share our birthday creations. One lucky commenter will win the Verve stamp set of his or her choosing. Winners will be announced on Monday, July 30 right here on the Verve blog.

If you just happened upon the Hop, today's hop list is a bit lower down or you can head over to Verve Blog for the full Hop List. Today's spotlight is shining on the Floral Notes set illustrated by Chaitali Narla, as well as the coordinating Floral Notes Die Set. Today's card is showcasing Floral Notes and I am using last week's Mojo Monday sketch to do so. Love this poppy image and just wish I was a better colourer so I could really do the image justice. I used some Twinkling H2Os for the job and paired the image with papers from Imaginisce's Oopsie Daisy collection. A touch of twine and a punched border with some black half pearls finished things off. Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win today's featured products! So be sure to leave a little comment on all the blogs below to increase your chances! Hi friends! It's the first Monday of a new month and that means it's contest week over at Mojo Monday. Play along for your chance to win a Verve stamp set of your choosing. We add a winner for every 50 entries, so play along as often as you like. The more the merrier! The 4th of July is always one of my favorite holidays. I love the red, white and blue and am excited to be hosting our family BBQ for the second year in a row. Should be a fun time for all. The boys are pretty excited for our party... and for the red, white and blue skittles and M&M's they've seen me trying to hide. {grin} For today's card I used some Liberty designer papers that have been hanging out on my desk and paired them with the Sparkly Dreams stamp set. I love the butterfly colored in red, white and blue. I cut it with the coordinating Butterfly Dreams Die Set and added a coating of glossy glaze and glitter to make it sparkle. The sentiment is also from Sparkly Dreams and is cut with the Stitched Pennants Die Set. I stitched on a layer of vellum to mute my square panel just a bit, and then arranged some pearl star flourishes as if they're bursting from behind the banner. A bunch of distressed edges and I was finished. Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you're in the mood for some shopping, today is the last day of Verve's Red, White & Blue Sale. Welcome to Day 2 of Verve's Sneak Peek Spotlight Hop. If you have arrived from Christyne's blog you are right on track. If you happened up on the Hop, you can catch up using the list below. Today's featured stamp sets are Let it Be and Deepest Sympathy Plain Jane. I chose to spotlight one of the fabulous sentiments from the Let It Be set. Julee continues to create the most amazing sentiment sets!! I had a hard time choosing which one to use! I finally settled on this great statement - one I have to remind myself of often because I tend to be an independent, take life by the tail type of person. Not easy to let go of control at times, and oh how I have had to learn to let go and let God over and over again LOL! I used Diva Sarah's amazing Verve sketch for this card and some yummy Park Bench paper from Fancy Pants. In addition, I am swooning over the fact that Verve now carries this drool-worthy, polka dotted ribbon!! I have coveted it for at least two years every time I saw Julee use it on one of her fabulous creations and now I have some in my very own craft room as well as a ready supplier - yeah!! Wednesday, 5/8/13 Today's Prize: Let it Be, Deepest Sympathy Plain Jane 1. Julee 7. Andrea 2. Charmaine 8. Jen M. 3. Teresa 9. Laurie W. 4. Stacey 10. Laurie S. 5. Christyne 11. Janelle 6. Marisa 12. Hi friends! It's Day 3 of our spotlight hops and today the Divas are shining their sneaky little spotlights on a new set called Unto Us. All the sets and dies we've peeked this week will be available in the Verve store sometime tonight. (Not quite sure an exact time, since my little guys being sick this week has left me a bit behind schedule on the website side of things). But the Divas will be back hopping tomorrow morning, so it will definitely be ready by then!!! {grin} Unto Us has some beautiful Christ-centered Christmas sentiments as well as a chevron version of the Classy Label Die and some winter imagery that coordinates with the new Reindeer Fun Die Set. I'm the start of the hop, so grab yourself a treat and settle in for a hopping good time! PS. There are prizes to be won, so be sure to leave comments as you hop about to the blogs linked at the bottom of this post! I think Christmas cards are one of my favorite things to make. I rarely make the same one twice, although this one was so fun and easy, I might just have to make it again and again! I love the look of book paper and when I saw this kraft book paper in a collection of 8.5 x 11 papers at Michael's I was sold. I stamped the chevron label from Unto Us in black, the cut with the coordinating Classy Label Die. The sentiment is also from Unto Us and stamped inside the label. I added a strip of the same paper behind as a little banner, then used the Banner Bundle Die Set to cut three banners of varying sizes and lengths from scraps. The base layer is embossed with a snowflake folder from Darice and I wrapped some seam binding and twine around it, tied a bow and added a couple rusty jingle bells to finish it off. Okay, time to hop along to the next stop.... Jen Shults! 1. Julee 8. Amber 2. Jen 9. Janelle 3. Marisa 10. Andrea 4. Teresa 11. Laurie W. 5. Charmaine 12. Maureen 6. Christyne 13. Verve Blog 7. Welcome to Verve's November Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Diva Inspirations Hop. The Divas will showcase inspirations to inspire you with both old and new Verve! If you have come here from Charmaine's blog you are right on track. If you just happened on to the hop, you can start from the top and work your way through - the prize is worth playing for! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the details. For my card, I combined this fabulous Ecclesiastes 3:11 Plain Jane with the butterfly from Each Day. I just love this verse and it is always a good reminder to be patient for things (not one of my strong suits LOL)! The paper is Kioshi by Basic Grey and I pulled the rest of the colours from it. The card needed a little something, so I cut out and added two butterflies along the side and then tried my hand at a multi-looped bow. Want to win Verve's ENTIRE October Release? Just leave comments on all of the blogs on today's hop to be entered in the drawing! So let's get hopping! Hi Verve fans! Have you enjoyed our Playing Favorites Diva Dare as much as I have? I just love seeing all the fun things each person chooses to highlight and reading a little bit more about their crafty faves. A super fun Dare, indeed! I'm wrapping up the Dare today, but there's still a little bit of time to post your old or new favorite Verve card to be in the running for our prize drawing! Deadline to play along is Thursday, December 26. Although I have lots of favorites with Verve, the set I always come back to when I get to stamp just for stamping's sake is Hope Blooms. I just love these shabby flowers and the fun all occasion sentiments. So when I stole a few moments to stamp last week, that's the set I reached for. I stamped the flower twice in Strawbery Slush on designer paper, then hand cut and sponged the edges with the same color of ink. The leaves are cut with the Elegant Leaves Die from soft sky cardstock and I stamped the coordinating image from Bloom & Grow in soft sky, then highlighted softly with a white prismacolor pencil. The birthday sentiment is stamped in strawberry slush and I gave it the same sponged treatment as the flowers, handcutting a little banner edge on one side. I finished off with some pink pearls in varying sizes for the flower center. Supply List Stamps: Hope Blooms, Bloom & Grow (Verve Stamps) Paper: Bundle of Joy Girl (Echo Park), soft sky (SU!), white Ink: strawberry slush, soft sky (SU!), white pencil (prismacolor) Accessories: Elegant Leaves Die (A Cut Above by VERVE), sponge, pink pearls Here are a few of my favorite cards from this year, as well.. using Relax {original post} using No Matter What {original post} using Joyful Blooms {original post} As a fun extra this month, the Divas are answering "The Diva Fab Five Questionnaire." Here goes! 1. My three favorite Verve products... they all have near and dear spots in my heart, but I'd have to say Hope Blooms, Words of Wisdom and No Matter What are the ones I gravitate toward the most. 2. My current go-to color combination... I love aqua with just about anything, but particularly love aqua, grey and red together. 3. My current go-to embellishment... I used to be really big on embellishments, but have taken a simpler approach to stamping lately (mostly because naptime doesn't allow me the time to dig through supplies to find the perfect embellishment). I do love flatback pearls and rhinestones and liquid pearls. One of those seems to make it on every one of my cards. Love those little mini library clips SU! used to sell, too. Now I'm hoarding my last package since they don't carry them anymore. 4. My favorite stamping or organizational tool... I've recently fell in love with the Envelope Punch Board. Love making little envelopes and gifties. I also just love my two-tier Clip It Ups. I have one for for storing my Verve stamp sets and one for storing baggies filled with different seam bindings, lace, ribbon, flowers and other fun embellishments. 5. My favorite treat... I usually have a mixture of Hot Tamales and Red Hots on my stamping desk. I also love Lily's Dark Chocolate Coconut bars, but they normally don't stick around the craft studio very long! LOL During the holidays, I usually trade in my cinnamon dish for candy canes, peppermint nougats or white chocolate peppermint pretzel crisps. Deadline to link your cards is 8PM Mountain on Thursday, December 26th. Take our "Playing Favorites" Dare and link up your card (created December 6th or later) to the linky widget below to be eligible to win. Happy Saturday, friends! Today I'm popping in with another card using the Mojo Monday 200 sketch! We'll be picking random winners from this week's participants to win some PRIZES, so if you haven't played along yet, you've got until Sunday night at 8pm Mountain! I started with the Play Date Cafe {PDCC91} color challenge of black/white and a splash of color in mind. I was also thinking of my Grandma, who left instructions that each of us would receive our birthday money right on schedule this year, even though she passed away in March. My check arrived yesterday and I was so broken up inside. I so wanted to make a thank you card, but there's no one to send it to. So instead, I decided to make a card using her favorite color... lavender... or in this case, the lovely new Wisteria Wonder. I pulled out the New Mercies set because I find this sentiment so comforting.. may you find peace in the days ahead. Peace is such an illusive thing. It seems that only when you stop struggling to find it does it ever come knocking on your door. I've got so much going on in my life right now, and the days are getting busier and busier with our Anni-VERVE-sary release only 3 weeks away. I have a tendency to worry about every little detail in life, so I can't think of a greater wish for myself than to find peace. Peace with the loss of loved ones, peace with my business decisions, peace with myself and the person I'm becoming. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful, peaceful weekend. Enabler's List: Stamps: New Mercies, Chicks Rule (Verve Stamps) Paper: Black, White, Wisteria Wonder (SU!) Ink: Black, Wisteria Wonder (SU!), Antique linen (Ranger Distress) Accessories: Flutterby Die (A Cut Above by VERVE), Classic Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Filmstrip ribbon (Tim Holtz), Wisteria Wonder ribbon (SU!), Sizzix embossing folder, rhinestones (Pizzazz Aplenty), chunky glass glitter

Happy Halloween! It's time for another Mojo Monday sketch and this week is a round or square option. Hi friends! It's Release Day at Verve and time for our final May Spotlight Hop! It's Diva's choice today, which means the Divas will be showing you whatever their little hearts wanted to stamp with from this release. And we've got a big prize for today's comment winner... the ENTIRE May 2014 Release Collection! Hop along and leave a little shout out to be in the drawing! All of the stamps we've been previewing this week are available in the Verve online store today! I made a bunch of cards with this release, and well, even as I'm starting to type this post, I'm not sure what I'm going to show you! {grin} Maybe I'll share a few?? I'll start with this little {almost} one layer card using Be Blessed. I thought these flowers were just begging for a big tropical adventure, so I pulled out coastal cabana and stamped the big flower, then masked it off and stamped the smaller flowers in crisp cantaloupe and peach parfait and then one big flower in the corner with barely banana. I made one mask for the smaller flowers and moved it around to stamp the greenery in with pear pizzazz. The sentiment is stamped in black and I added a teeny strip of coastal cabana to give the edge some flair, then accented with liquid pearls and some dew drops on the flower centers. The next card is the one I gave my mom for Mother's Day this year. It uses Button Best on the outside and a sentiment from Be Blessed on the inside. I embossed the flowers from Button Best in white, then cut with the coordinating Petal Points Die Set. Next, I watercolored the flowers with distress markers, taking the color all the way to the edge of the die cut to extend the flowers. Next I glued a few Sprightly Sprigs that I highlighted a bit with watercolors to a cream panel and ran through the machine with the Chicken Wire embossing folder. The sentiment is also from Button Best, and I hand cut and sketched a little banner around the sentiment. a black mat, some linen thread and a vintage button finish the outside off. For the inside of the card, I kept it simple and added this sentiment from Be Blessed, then stamped one of the flowers from Button Best in soft sky a couple times. This last card also uses Button Best. I again embossed the flowers in white on a piece of watercolor paper. I then watercolored the flowers with distress markers and shimmer spray. I also used the markers and waterbrush for the color wash around the flowers, then embossed the sentiment in black. I wanted those pearly watercolored flowers to take center stage, so I just decided to leave it at that and made a circle card with a crisp cantaloupe mat and crumb cake scalloped circle base. A bit of liquid pearls accenting the scallops finished things off. Alrighty... time to move along to the next stop on the hop: Charmaine Want to win some shiny new Verve? Hi friends! I'm back again today to share a card I made with Sarah's May Week 4 Viva la Verve sketch. This sketch hit on release day and I've had it sitting on my desk waiting for a spare minute since then. So glad I finally got the chance to play along, because I love how it turned out. I started by cutting the oval with Nestabilities and then using the die as a stencil to sponge on some tumbled glass distress ink. Next I stamped the title sentiment from Wonderful Marvelous to the side of the oval, then pulled out Be Blessed and stamped the flower twice in so saffron. I cut one out with the coordinating Petal Points Die Set and cut the inner portion of the other stamped flower out by hand to pop up for some dimension. While I had the flowers out, I also randomly stamped them tone on tone on the so saffron panel. Next I added some black sprigs cut with the Sprightly Sprigs Die Set all around, substituting for the little banner coming off the side of the sketch. The card base is embossed with a polka dot folder and I added a rounded corner to the top of each rectangle panel, then finished off with a sparkly gem center for the flower. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to come on back tomorrow for our monthly Diva Inspirations Hop and challenge! May Week 4 VLV Sketch Enabler's List Stamps: Wonderful Marvelous, Be Blessed (Verve Stamps) Paper: so saffron, basic black (SU!), white Ink: so saffron (SU!), tumbled glass (Ranger Distress), black Accessories: Petal Points Die Set, Sprightly Sprigs Die Set (A Cut Above by VERVE), Classic Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders), dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), sparkly gem, corner rounder.
Here is the challenge: This sketch is for week 2 (June) Check out the Viva la Verve Master Challenge Thread for all the details on how to be entered to win a $100 Verve gift certificate by playing along with all of the sketches for June! All four cards must be uploaded to the VLVJun2013 gallery by midnight, CST on Thursday, June 27th. Here is my card below: Can't believe I've had this paper in my stash and haven't used it called: For Always. I suppose this is a great reason to join challenges, which is to use the stuff we buy. For the circles, I used the Spellbinders large and for the center, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen. Cardstock: Pool Party (SU). Sentiment and flowers came from the set Verve stamp set: Bloom & Grow. I stamped the little flowers using Cherry Cobbler (SU) and sponged the center using Pool Party (SU). To complete the card, I used the steam binding ribbon in Cherry Chobbler and added little basic pearls. Click here to go directly to the challenge of week one over at Splitcoaststampers and have some fun creating. Again, it's very therapeutic and I'm sure you will enjoy!!

Just a quick post to share my card for this month's Verve Diva Dare. This month's Dare was to use an inspirational sentiment as well as distressing or a shabby chic element. I have to say I'm not the greatest when it comes to shabby chic, and I'm not sure that I necessarily achieved that here, but I did distress the heck out of my papers and this is a pretty inspirational verse, don't you think? I had a lot of fun creating this card. I love mixing and matching papers, but when I am trying to get a card done in a hurry, the easiest thing to do is just grab a 6x6 pad and let the paper companies do the work for me. For this card I'm using Glitz's Yours Truly collection. I decided to go with a really symmetrical, centered look. All the pieces are distressed, and lots of stitching too. I like that it came out a little patriotic, and a little nautical. OK, that's all for me now. I'm supposed to be making cards for the PC call, but all I feel like doing is layouts. I think I'm going to go with my gut on this one since I've been slacking on the scrapbooking. Have a great rest of your weekend! Supplies Used Paper/Cardstock: Glitz - Yours Truly 6x6 pad; CTMH - Outdoor Denim cardstock Stamps: Verve - Jeremiah 33:3 Plain Jane Ink: CTMH - Outdoor Denim Other: CTMH - Edge Distresser, Cranberry Grosgrain and Dimensional Foam Tape; Tombow - Mono Adhesive; Sewing Machine
Welcome to Verve's July Release Spotlight Hops! A new release is just around the corner and for the next few days we'll be shining our creative spotlights on the new Verve sets and dies releasing Monday, July 10. Today we are sharing inspiration featuring the new Always Time stamp set and coordinating Kettle Time Die Set. Check out the Verve Blog post today for the full hop list, prize details, reveals and a little more on this fun new set. I love creating Coffee themed projects and this newest release is filled with fabulous stamps sets and coordinating dies that won't disappoint!! For my first project I created a card using rich patterned papers that made me immediately think of COFFEE. I created my focal point by stamping on the Tagged Rectangle Die and added a finishing touch by doing one of my favorite techniques...paper piecing. As you can see I did this to one of the sweet little coffee cups that are included in the set along with the Coffee word die previously released. Supplies Used: Stamps: Always Time (Verve Stamps) Ink: Dark Chocolate (GKD) Paper: Crumb Cake (SU!), White & Dark Chocolate (GKD), Honey Cake (My Minds Eye) Accessories: Tagged Rectangle Die (A Cut Above Dies by VERVE), Coffee Word Die (A Cute Above Dies by VERVE), Kettle Time Die Set (A Cut Above Dies by VERVE), Award Banner Die Set (A Cut Above Dies by VERVE), 1/4" Hole Punch, Ribbon, Twine I also love to create matching gift packaging for my cards and thought this would be perfect for putting a gift card to the recipients favorite coffee. I used the same papers and design from my card to make them coordinate into a special little gift set. Supplies Used: Stamps: Always Time (Verve Stamps) Ink: Dark Chocolate (GKD) Paper: Crumb Cake (SU!), White & Dark Chocolate (GKD), Honey Cake (My Minds Eye) Accessories: Goodie Bag Die (Lawn Fawn), Tagged Rectangle Die (A Cut Above Dies by VERVE), Kettle Time Die Set (A Cut Above Dies by VERVE), Coffee Word Die (A Cut Above Dies by VERVE), Ribbon, Twine Want to win some shiny new Verve? Welcome back to another Mojo Monday sketch. This week's sketch is brought to us by Julee, and there is a fun diagonal panel to work with. Pulled two papers from The Sweetest Thing Recollections pack from Michael's and went to work. I added just a touch of colour to the cream leaves by using third generation stamping with Sahara Sand and added a button to the ribbon banner for a little something. You can check out all the challenge details over on the Mojo Monday blog and also get a chance to view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples! Should you wish more details on their cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below. Welcome to the January Diva Inspirations Blog Hop! Our Diva Inspirations team is here at a new date, the 5th of the month, to inspire you with a little Verve ! You can start the Hop at the Verve blog. Continue through and comment on each fabulous blog and leave a little comment love and you just might win some Vervey goodness of your very own! If you got here from the Verve blog you are in the right place. For my card, I am using Verve's Love Story, Words Cannot Express, Sunny Days, and Celebration of Thanks stamp sets. I am using Verve's Cut Above Lovely Marque die, Tiny Sweet Scallop die, Leafy Sprigs die, and From the Heart Dies. I stamped the Marque frame image from Love Story and die cut it with the Lovely Marque die. I stamped the sentiment from Words Cannot Express inside. I die cut one of the Tiny Sweet Scallop die and stamp it with one of the sentiments in Celebration of Thanks. I also used the flourished image in the set to accent the edges of the tag. For the sprig, I used the sprig image from Sunny Days . I rocked and rolled the image with some aqua mist and Memento pear ink. I die cut using the Leafy Sprigs die. I love how perfectly these dies cut out. Speaking of which, check out this image of From the Heart Dies. Each die comes with these circle cut outs on the edges so the dies can be lined up perfectly. However, here I chose to use those tiny circle dots for an accent on my leaves and top right of the card instead of just throwing them away. Love that especially with the glitter cardstock that I used here. It is like little faux gems. I finished my card with some stitching, a seam binding bow, and a solid button! As always thanks so much for stopping by! Next on the hop is super talented Dawn's blog! Betty Supplies Stamps: Love Story, Words Cannot Express, Sunny Days, and Celebration of Thanks Paper: The Paper Company kraft, MME designer paper, PTI vintage cream, red glitter cardstock Ink: Memento tuxedo black, pear, PTI aqua mist, chamomille Accessories: Seam binding, button, sewing machine, Verve Cut Above Sweet Scallop die, Leafy Sprigs die, and From the Heart Dies, Spellbinder's die Pin It

I had to add more banners/flags, I totally luv the look of lots of banners/flags. I used the Verve Deepest Sympathy Plain Jane for my card, pretty simpel really, scalloped circle for the sentiment, banners/flags. and the Verve Black Beauty Ribbon Collection. Welcome to Verve's August Diva Inspirations Hop. If you are coming over from Karen's amazing blog then you are in the right place - you can also start at the top of the blog roll over at Julee's if you are starting here! It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Divas to serve up some fresh inspiration with their Verve stamps! Leave some comment love along the hop spots for a chance to win a prize, then grab some stamps and play along with our August inspiration challenge for another chance to win! Our August challenge is Sequined Stunner: Sequins are the perfect embellishment - sparkly, affordable and with lots of texture. Add some sequins to your project this month to make it a sequined stunner! Feel free to use the graphic as inspiration or not. For my project, I chose to keep the layout very simple and keep the focus on this wonderful sentiment: "It's a Wonderful Life" - I simply love that sentiment and love this stamp set called Remember This (I seriously do love this stamp set - the banners and sentiment are perfect for every occasion!!) - if you are ever wondering what a good stamp set to purchase is either for you or your crafty one - I totally recommend this one! I kept the colors and layout simple and sprinkled a few sprinkles on the top to match the dots on the bottom - usually my cards are so layered, but for this one I decided to go the quick and easy layout road and the sprinkles were such a fun touch - I love these challenges that make me use the stuff in my craft room that I purchased years ago!! Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines! 1. Julee 7. Sarah 2.
