Happy Friday! It is a new month and a new Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge. I have a card to share using May's Viva La Verve Sketch. I combined Verve's Scripture Medley 3 and Wonderful Marvelous stamp sets for the sentiment panel. I gold embossed the word "Mom" for added effect. I used the grid image from Making a Statement stamp set to add some slight texture to the green panel. I combined Verve's Lacey Trim duo, Falling Leaves, and Heart Quartet die sets for this card. I combined DCWV pattern papers. I mixed white and cream card stock with some embossed vellum to create dimension and texture. I finished my card with some clear sequins. I am playing along with Just Add Ink Challenge to add an "O." I added olive to my card. As always thanks so much for stopping by!

I am here with a card to share for this month's Diva Inspiration Hop! I am using this week's VLV May Week 2 sketch! Charmaine is the host! Love this sketch, Charmaine! For my card today I needed a birthday card for my baby boy! Except, he is not a baby anymore. He has technically not been a baby for a long time. However, today, he becomes a teenager! WOW! The Big 13! Where did the years go? I am still having a hard time believing it. It seems like just yesterday he was just toddling around. So, here is my very "manly" card for my little guy who is actually taller than me already! Have A Happy Happy 13th Birthday, my son! I combined Happy Days with the newly release Small Celebrations set. I combined these sets to create what I call sentiment building. I also love the large words that come in the Happy Days set that I used to create a soft muted background panel for my sentiment. I have used this set a few times for this look. I used Verve's Cut Above Charming Banner die to create a clip like detailing to house my baby bracelet bead letters. I distressed most of the edges with distressing tool and ink, added a strip of stitched ribbon, and topped it off with a textured button. As always thanks so much for stopping by! Next on the hop is Jackie! Hello, Verve fans, Julee here, with a little recap of the April VLV sketch entries so far, and a spotlight on a few of the beautiful cards in the linkup already. Our challenge is open all month long
Hi friends! It's the first Monday of the month, which means it's time for a Mojo Monday contest with prizes! Woohoo! And since it's also the 5th of the month, it's time for a Diva Inspirations Hop! Double woohoo!! So I mentioned PRIZES! Yep, play along with the Mojo sketch challenge this week, for a chance to win a Verve stamps set of your choice! We'll have one winner for every 50 entries, up to a max of 7 winners, so I hope you can find a little time to get your Mojo on this week! Especially since Verve just released brand new sets on Friday night and there are some fabulous new holiday stamps to choose from! There's a big ole prize for the Diva Inspirations Hop, too! Hop around to the diva blog posts linked below and leave a comment at each stop for a chance to win the entire new release from Verve! Check out the Verve Blog for all the prize details. About my card: As you may have noticed, I went a little skewed with my panels (just for you Marisa!). LOL Actually, when I went to glue down the bottom layer, I dropped the panel and it stuck and I couldn't get it back up, so I just went with it! For the Diva Inspirations Hop, I mixed a little old with a little new for this fun nostalgic Christmas card. The tree and the sentiment are from the brand new Holiday Greetings set and I paired them with the present border from our previously released Borderline set. The presents and the tree are both paper pieced using the same prints of City Sidewalks DP and I colored the garland and bows with some Spica glitter pens. I finished by ruffling a little glittery black twill and adding a fun little bow. Okay, now it's time to hop on down the divasphere to the next blog on the list... Sankari!!! 1. Betty 7. Susan 2. Welcome to Verve's November Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's time for the Diva Inspirations Hop. The Divas will showcase inspirations to inspire you with both old and new Verve! If you have come here from Charmaine's blog you are right on track. If you just happened on to the hop, you can start from the top and work your way through - the prize is worth playing for! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the details. For my card, I combined this fabulous Ecclesiastes 3:11 Plain Jane with the butterfly from Each Day. I just love this verse and it is always a good reminder to be patient for things (not one of my strong suits LOL)! The paper is Kioshi by Basic Grey and I pulled the rest of the colours from it. The card needed a little something, so I cut out and added two butterflies along the side and then tried my hand at a multi-looped bow. Want to win Verve's ENTIRE October Release? Just leave comments on all of the blogs on today's hop to be entered in the drawing! So let's get hopping! Hi friends! Happy Thursday! I can't believe how fast the week is flying by. My twins have been really sick the past week, so I haven't had a whole lot of time to get crafty. Last night my creative side finally rebelled and hit the craft room instead of the bed during the bit of down time I had. I'm sure I'll regret that later today. {grin} I had a list of things I wanted to try as I've been spending quite a bit of time on Pinterest on my iPad while watching the boys. When I ran across this pencil eraser stamp tutorial I knew I MUST try it out. Little known fact is I'm a sucker for office supplies. Whenever I see those cute designer pencils I just HAVE to buy them! So I started with that concept to make a little pencil eraser banner on one of the panels. After I stamped it with Peeled Paint ink I outlined it with a black pen to give it a bit more definition. In my internet travels I've also seen a bunch of cards lately with the woodgrain embossing folder (which I'd forgotten I even had until last week) and wood veneer stars (another goody just sitting in the closet collecting dust). Oh, and washi tape... I've bought so much of it I think I need to put it on every card from here to eternity! Anyhow, I used all scraps from my pile for this one. The sentiment is from Amazing Wishes and I embossed it in white on a Floral Circles die cut which was stamped lightly with white mix'd media inx with the largest flower from Hope Blooms. I then snipped along each petal and curled them up, then swiped the edges with white gesso. Most of my scraps are distressed with white gesso as well. The stars are coated with a bit of gesso, black stickles and distress peeled paint stickles. The border die is a long Tim Holtz one I hadn't tested out yet and the leaves are the Elegant Leaves die cut and I hand sketched in the leaves to match the feel of the card. The layout is a skewed version of the February Week 1 Viva la Verve! sketch. It's a new month and there's plenty of time to play along with the sketches for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to Verve Stamps! Okay, that's all from me for this go round. Hope you have a fantastic day! Enabler's List Stamps: Amazing Wishes, Hope Blooms (Verve Stamps) Paper: scraps, Sahara Sand, Basic Black (SU!) Ink: Peeled Paint (Ranger Distress), Jasmine (Mix'd Media Inx), black pen Accessories: Floral Circles Die Set, Elegant Leaves Die (A Cut Above by VERVE), border die (Tim Holtz), white gesso (Claudine Hellmuth), washi tape, wood veneer stars (Studio Calico), woodgrain embossing folder (SU!), baker's twine (Divine Twine), mini library clip (SU!), peeled paint and black diamond Stickles, paper distresser, embossing powder

Hi friends! Happy Friday! Friday means it's time for a new sketch challenge over at Viva la Verve, and this week Stacey is our hostess with the mostess. I love the possibilities of her sketch. I started with a little ATC sized white panel and sponged some distress paint on over a Memory Box stencil. Once this dried, I layered the dot fade Tim Holtz stencil over this and sponged with fossilized amber and then with walnut stain. I added some black soot around the edges and then wiped off and repeated. Next I stamped the sentiment from Happy Place on white cardstock and cut out. The flags are a couple of paper clip embellishments from my stash and I decided to add a hint of washi to my sentiment panel to tie in the orange in one of the flags. For embellishment, I looped some linen thread around the panel, added a silver heart and finished off with a mini library clip. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fabulous start to the long weekend. And if you're in the mood to shop, be sure to head over to Verve and use gift code MEM25 for 25% off your purchase now through May 26! Viva la Verve May Week 4 Enabler's List Stamps: Happy Place (Verve Stamps) Paper: white, black Ink: tumbled glass, peacock feathers, peeled paint, fossilized amber, walnut stain, black soot (Ranger Distress inks & paints), black archival Accessories: butterfly vine stencil (Memory Box), dot fade stencil (Tim Holtz Alterations), washi tape, paper clip embellishments, silver heart, mini library clip, linen thread, Chicken Wire embossing folder (Cuttlebug)
Hi friends! I'm popping in with a card using this week's November Week 3 Viva la Verve sketch + inspiration. As soon as I saw the inspiration picture, I knew I'd have to find some time to play along with the challenge. Christyne had me at pumpkins. {grin} So, I'm recapping this week's sketch and sharing some of my favorite entries from the last week over on the VLV Sketches Blog today. Anyhow, since my desk is covered with Christmas goodies from the recent release, I decided to trade the pumpkins for poinsettias, using lots of cream on cream and golden accents. I wanted a really clean, crisp look and you would not believe how many times I had to stop and remind myself of my objective and step away from the paper distresser. I'm pretty sure I have a distressing problem! LOL Anyhow, the card came together really quickly. I stamped the poinsettia with leaves from Pinecone Christmas in Versamark six times and embossed with gold embossing powder. Next I cut three of the images out with the coordinating die from Poinsettia Pinecones Die Set. The other three I cut with the smaller poinsettia die, so I could pop up over the other die cut. (You get a little bit of the leaves on the border around the poinsettia, but since I was popping it up over the same image and not doing any coloring, I knew it wouldn't be very noticeable. I loved the effect and it was much easier than cutting the poinsettias by hand.) Next I die cut 3 circles (embossed with dots) from cream and matted with some gold vellum scraps I had. The sentiment is also from Pinecone Christmas, embossed in gold and hand cut into a banner. I layered everything together, added some gold ribbon, jingle bells and 3 shiny flatback pearls to the center of each flower and I was done. Pretty quick and super elegant. Thanks so much for stopping by today! On the agenda for today is lots of the boys' favorite new book, Dinosaurumpus and some toddler crafting in the form of no glue paper bag turkeys. Wish me luck! {grin} Viva la Verve Nov Week 3 Enabler's List Stamps: Pinecone Christmas (Verve Stamps) Paper: cream, gold vellum Ink: versamark Accessories: Poinsettia Pinecones Die Set (A Cut Above by VERVE), Classic circles nestabilites (Spellbinders), dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), ribbon, jingle bells, flatback shiny gold pearls (Pizzazz Aplenty)
Hello there! It's a new week, and I hope yours has started off well. I had a nice surprise this morning, when I learned that my Friendship card was chosen as one of the Terrific Top 3 in the CR84FN36 color challenge! It will be so exciting to have the TT3 badge in my sidebar! All the cards in that challenge were beautiful--you should go check them out. While you're at it, you might want to head over to the CR84FN37 challenge. The blues for this one are so pretty. I love color challenges. I get to use color combinations that I might not otherwise try. Okay, now on to my card for today. It's for the Viva la Verve August sketch challenge-Week 3 (I turned it 90 degrees counterclockwise) and also for the Crazy 4 Challenges theme #102--a "male card." What a great sketch this was to work with! Look at all the different layers. I am crazy about layers! (Some say I'm plain crazy, but that's just not true, I tell ya) *~D For this card, I used yet more digital paper. This time I used Dinner Party, from the Shabby Princess website--FREE! I love FREE! First, I glued some red hemp cord around the perimeter of the large circle die cut with Glossy Accents (it dries a lot faster than white glue). Then I put all the rectangular layers on with foam dots. When I was finished with that, it still needed something, so I tried putting a bead of white Liquid Pearls around the hemp, but that was a near disaster! You need a steady hand for that kind of thing, and I don't possess one of those. :) To try to remedy that, I used more Liquid Pearls, in yellow, and put dots around the circle. Much better. I've still got a long way to go with learning how to use Liquid Pearls, but I am liking it more and more. Since I wanted this to be a masculine card for the Crazy 4 Challenges male theme, I decided to use the manly "carpe diem" sentiment from Verve's new Words of Wisdom set. I did have a little chuckle when I looked up the phrase to make sure I knew what it meant. According to Merriam-Webster, the Latin origin literally means "pluck the day." I'm good about ignoring things I don't care for, so I'm going with the translation of "seize the day" instead. (I know it doesn't really matter what I think it means, just what the recipient thinks, but I'm funny about knowing stuff like that). Anyway, I think if I told a man, "pluck the day," he might be insulted (or think I'm a nutcase), and I wouldn't want either of those things to happen. For my embellie, I just used 3 black rhinestones. On the inside, I used the same papers as on the front of the card, except the black and white paper has the colors reversed. All in all, I think it's a fairly manly card. I'll have to get my husband's opinion on that later. I just won't tell him about that "pluck the day" thing. *~D Hope you have a great day today! Thanks for visiting!!! Stamps: Words of Wisdom (Verve) Paper: Dinner Party-digital (Shabby Princess); The Paper Studio Ink: Staz-on; Tim Holtz Distress Ink Accessories: Standard Circles Lg die (Spellbinders); Hemp Jewelry Cord (Hobby Lobby); rhinestones; Liquid Pearls Size: 4.25" x 4.25" Thanks for visiting my blog! Hi friends! It's Friday and that means it's time for a new sketch over on the Viva la Verve Sketches Blog. Charmaine is our hostess this week with a super fun sketch. For my card, I pulled out my pile of paper scraps I'm determined to whittle down and the No Matter What set. I even made a little sequin shaker card! I never really liked shakers when they were popular about 6 years ago, but the sequins have lured me in this go round. It might be because the boys love to give the cards a good shake! :) I started by making the shaker with acetate and circle dies, then filling with red and gold sequins from the Holiday Sequin Mix. I added some liquid pearls around the circle for a fun little accent. The sentiment is from No Matter What and I masked the two parts of the phrase to make it a single line sentiment to fit the flag. Next I layered my papers, inking the edges with walnut stain distress ink. I layered everything together, added a taffeta bow to the top and finished off with a heart cut with the Heart Quartet Die and lined with liquid pearls. This one also qualifies for the Vivacious Valentine inspiration challenge still going on. So if you're a procrastinating stamper like me, make it a two-fer-one challenge entry! {grin} I hope you'll play along this week. Be sure to head on over to the VLV Sketches blog to see what the other gals did with the sketch! Have a fantastic Friday! Viva la Verve Feb Week 2 Enabler's List Stamps: No Matter What (Verve Stamps) Paper: scraps (SU! & MME), acetate, cream (Neenah) Ink: walnut stain distress ink, black archival ink (Ranger) Accessories:Heart Quartet Die (A Cut Above by VERVE), Holiday Sequin Mix (Verve), Classic Circles Nestabilities (Spellbiners), liquid pearls (Ranger), taffeta ribbon (SU!)

Good morning! I have a fun post in store for you today! :-) The folks at Bazzill sent me some new goodies to play with...AND share with you! I saw that Bazzill was now making patterned paper, and in the smaller 6 x 6 size no less! I have ordered and used some of it already and was impressed with the quality. The paper is thick and just a little bit textured...I love it! I played with the new Beach House Collection from Bazzill and loved the fun mix of patterns and colors! My first thought was how versatile the patterns are...can be used for all things beach and summer, but also everyday cards. I even thought that several of the patterns would make great Christmas paper! Since my goal this month was to make as many birthday cards as I could, I chose to make...a birthday card! LOL! I...
Hi Everyone! Welcome back to another peek- Day 2 to be exact- of the June Kraftin' Kimmie release! Today it is all about the boys with the fun set, 'Let's Roll, Dude'~ See what I mean? It is all about those teen boys at play~ I colored my guy with Copics and fussy cut him out. I had to give him a red ball cap as I am from St Louis, so this young man is clearly a St Louis CARDINALS fan! I spotted this sketch from Viva La Verve and immediately saw the skateboard park ramp in it~ My clouds are the banners. Yes, it is a bit abstract, but I really like how it turned out! I am also linking up to Papertake Weekly-'Something for the Boys' and Crafting For All Seasons-'It's a Boy Thing', So there you have it! My card is pretty simple today. Ready to see all of the other inspiration from the Design Team?! It is pretty amazing! Be sure to leave a comment on all the preview posts for this week because we are giving away a gift voucher!!! You could WIN some Krafty $$$ to spend at the shop!! ;

African FinTech company Flutterwave reached out to agency Verve, asking the creatives to develop a new ID that shall make it distinctive within the industry.
Today is a start of a new month of Viva La Verve sketches and Julee is kickin' it with a pastel trio and sketch challenge. If you're new to Viva La Verve or just getting back into the sketches you'll notice it's changed a wee bit. The challenge has moved to it's own blog! Twice a month there is a twist added to the challenge like this week is color. Get all the details about the challenge and prized on the Viva La Verve Challenge blog! Here's my card sample for the sketch. I started with a paper pad from Authentique called Delightful and found the sweet blue and green from the challenge. Then I used the graph stamp from Making a Statement around the middle of my background paper (notice the pink?) inking in Crumb Cake ink. I wanted some subtle direction on the right side of the card so I used the chevron stamp from Borderline in Crumb Cake to make that happen. I added my mixed media touch with white gesso around the outside and then... I added pink (Painterly Pink to be exact) because the mood was swinging with pastels. The focal cluster is made up of Flag It Die Set pennants stamped with the chevron stamp, the Banner Bundle Die (largest one) and a DIY circle ring of three (I used two circle dies faced cutting edge down to center then taped them together.) Gesso and pink paint smudged around the borders and then a perfect (fork technique) bow from Moss Green ribbon. Oh, and I used the paper piercing kit and piercing tool around the circle and bottom layer. I hope you are having a great week... regardless of the weather or schedule you might have, I will wish you find something to enjoy, to relax about or laugh over. See you next week! Details: Stamps: Making a Statement and Borderline (Verve Stamps) Paper: Delightful (Authentique), Kraft (Neenah) Ink: Crumb Cake (Stampin' Up) Accessories: Flag It Die Set and Banner Bundle Die Set (A Cut Above, Verve), paper piercer kit and piercer tool (Stampin' Up), Moss Green ribbon (Summer Sailing Ribbon Collection, Verve), acrylic paint (Painterly Pink, Claudine Hellmuth), white gesso

Hiya! It's time for another fun ColourQ challenge and this week's colours and just stunning together! I had to whip this up pretty quickly on Sunday afternoon before daylight disappeared (believe it or not, that's the last time I see daylight at my house that is good enough to take photos in before Tuesday!). I pulled out one piece of Glorious Green card from my stash and a scrap of Certainly Celery dsp and came up with this... I stamped and embossed some leaves from Lighthearted Leaves onto white cardstock and coloured with Copic markers that matched the greens and aqua from the colour scheme, adding the other circle layers over the top. The sentiment and butterfly are from Verve, and I added some Kaisercraft rhinestones to finish it off. I used this week's Viva la Verve sketch for the layout... Make sure you check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team this week! Thanks for stopping by... x Amy x

Welcome back to another Mojo Monday sketch. This week's sketch is brought to us by Julee, and there is a fun diagonal panel to work with. Pulled two papers from The Sweetest Thing Recollections pack from Michael's and went to work. I added just a touch of colour to the cream leaves by using third generation stamping with Sahara Sand and added a button to the ribbon banner for a little something. Hello friends! Happy Friday. Today, I have a couple of cards for you using brand new stamps, just released few days ago by Latina Crafter. For this card I used the new stamp Nena con Banner (Banner Girl) and the sketch from Viva La Verve Week 2. This card is a 5" square card. The patterned paper is so pretty and part of the September Kit. The Cherish doily is from Top Dog Dies. The cute image was colored with Spectrum Noir Markers, the flower was made with these dies, added a big twine bow and pearls and the card was done :) The sentiment says: You are special =============================================== For this card I went super CAS, I used the new stamp set Disfruta (Enjoy) and the sketch from Retro Sketches. I used the little flower and repeat stamping it in different colors (All Memento Ink), then I stamp the sentiment in St. Valentine Archival Ink. Finally, I added White Opal Liquid Pearls. The sentiment says: Enjoy this moment Submitting these projects also to: Word Art Wednesday: Anything goes. Party Time Tuesday: Anything goes. Hope you like it! Have a great day! Hi everyone! Mondays are something to look forward to because it's time for another Mojo Monday Challenge! Our sketch was designed by Julee and it's a fun one! I had not used dew drops (remember their popularity years ago?) in forever, so when I could't find any brads in my stash in the right colors...I went to the clear dew drops and was happier with the more subtle look. Papers are all from an Echo Park pad called "This and That" - LOVE! I really had intentions of creating a Mother's Day card (to sell at work), but this sentiment just fit so perfectly. :-) So, it morphed into a card of thanks instead. I stamped the flower twice, did some fussy cutting, layered with foam dots and added Glossy Effects to the center. Leaves were colored with Copic markers: YG21, YG23, YG25. The small doily is actually a Martha Stewart tag. Be sure and check out the wonderful creations by the other mojomakers... So, it will be a day of helping her get settled into a new space and hopefully we can squeeze in a bit of celebrating at day's end! Today's card is a clean and simple "manly" card with a nautical theme to fit a couple of challenges. I combined the compass from the Gina K "Ship to Shore" set (from the new Stamp TV kit) with a verse from Verve, in a "clean and graphic" style as defined by The Card Concept challenge. I added the ship's wheel inside the card with the sentiment. You can see it peeking out in there! : ) My challenges for today... Hi friends! It's Monday and time for a brand new Mojo Monday sketch! I hope you can find a little time in the next couple weeks to play along with me! I'm an equal opportunity stamper, so feel free to use any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on February 7, 2021. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs, and never worry about substituting a shape or layer. Sometimes I create sketches from my past cards, and other times I literally sketch the layout on paper, then create the card. More recently, I've been gravitating to ink blending or mixed media backgrounds and I don't use as many layers as I used to, making new sketches a little harder for my brain to crank out. So yesterday morning I sat down and sketched out this quick layout and I had so much fun picking out papers and elements to fit it. It just goes to show how mixing things up every now and then in your crafting process can really boost your creativity. For this card, I pulled out the gorgeous Forest Tea Party collection and cut my panels, inking the edges and matting with stone ink and cardstock. The background is from the Wood Creative Pad and I stamped the Typewriter Text Background over it in stone ink. This background is part of the Overstock Sale at Sweet 'n Sassy this month, and it's one of my favorites! After building up my layers, I decided I wanted to use a flower in place of the circle, so I pulled out the Precious Poppies set and colored and fussy cut the flower, adding some Nuvo glitter drops to the center, then bunching up some twine to tuck under. The sentiment is from the Sentimental Wordfetti set. This set is simply perfect for so many occasions. Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you've been inspired to create something with this sketch .
