Happy Saturday Peeps!!! Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches. This is a great sketch by the fabulous Rita Wright, I love it!! I had just got my pre-order earlier in the week from the new Stampin Up catalog. This set Swirly Birds was on my list when I first saw it in the new catalog and I was thrilled to see it available on our pre-order. I also love the new in colors and I used every one of them on this card. The Dapper Denim is just splattered on the white piece but it is there and it was fun to use all of them on this card. I started the card with a base of white and then laid down a piece of DSP down the side from the Go Wild paper stack. I then added a strip of basic black across the bottom. I embossed the sentiment from the Butterfly Basics stamp set using white embossing powder. I then cut another piece of white and splattered it with a bit of the Dapper Denim ink. The flowers are die cut using Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum. I die cut the leaves using Emerald Envy, I hand cut some watercolor paper and washed it with the same ink as the flowers and popped the swirl die cut onto the watercolored piece. CARD This is a fun card, featuring kites from the Stampin Up Swirly Bird stamp set. Words are from the Greatest Greetings stamp set. The background is sponged with soft sky and pear pizzaz ink pads to make the sky.

The card - swirl die cuts and stamped images are from SU. I drew the lines for the flower stems with a marker. This stamp set and dies are so much fun! Cooking dinner for a friend's birthday tonight

I won't discuss my particular politics, but the current election cycle is more and more like a soap opera. If it wasn't SO serious, it would make a good mini-series! With all of that said, I still get a lump in my throat when the anthem is played and I stand with my hand over my heart. I am thankful for the men & women who have lost their lives fighting for our freedom and the ones who made it home safely to this great land of ours. Since we are heading in to Memorial Weekend and July 4th is just around the corner, I thought I would give you my take on an "artsy" flag. The stripes were made using the new Stampin' Up! Swirly Scribbles Thinlits. (available June 1 from the new annual catalog) Trust me when I tell you that particular die set with the coordinating stamp set called Swirly Bird will be a must have for your stamp/tools collection. I simply cut several of the swirls from Real Red cardstock and glued them to the Whisper White paper. I also cut a bit of one of the swirls from Night of Navy, then glued the white stars on it. The large number & words are from the Number of Years stamp set & the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. Those two items are still available as a bundle until May 31, after that they can only be purchased separately. Bundling is a great way to save some money when you KNOW you have to both! Hello Peeps! Today I sharing a card I made using the challengethis week at Inspired by All the Little Things. I love the colors in this image and used them for the inspiration for my card. I am playing with the new Stampin Up Swirly Bird set and one of the new in colors, Dapper Denim. I also used white and Pool Party. I love this little sailboat and I also think it fits the inspiration photo as it reminds me of a quaint little foreign costal town where you might see many sailboats. I used the retired cloudy day embossing folder, I thought it was the perfect backdrop for my tiny sailboat. The swirl was cut with daffodit delight card stock and makes a cute little sun for my summer scene. The waves ae cut with Pool party card stock using another die in the Swirly bundle. I stamped a sentiment from the Cottage Greetings set using Dapper Denim. Thanks for stopping by today. Vicki

Swirly Bird Bundle I am truly enjoying all the curiosity that this stamp set bundle brings with it. It is honestly a fun one, glad I got it during the pre-order period. Someone came up with the idea of a snowman so I made my own version with the framelits. I took the middle size one, which actually comes with leaves (as a vine) and cut those off with scissors. :) Then I used my Snow Place bundle and stamped/cut the scarf in red.
