Primary Lesson Helps, Sunbeam Lesson 6 – Heavenly Father and Jesus Love Me, Primary 1 manual
I just finished the rest of this lesson (I posted some of it last week but ran out of time due to family in town). Here are some fun lesson helps for lesson 38 (I will remember Jesus Christ during the sacrament). Scripture Story and discussion. Cut apart and as you read the scriptures at the end you can use these as a visual. You can also fold or cover up the words and ask your class if they know what each represents before you show them the words. Scripture: Here's a fun match game I made for on of our family home evenings. The instructions and download are in the post. Story: Have the children draw a picture of their favorite story about the Savior. Let them come to the front of the class and share their picture as well as the story. Discussion: Print out the Question page and print and cut the circles on the next page. Place the circles in a bag and have the children take turns drawing them. After ask if they have any ideas and write them on your page. Activity:Print and cut out the cards. Take turns picking a card and decide if its something we should or should not think or do during the sacrament. You can use the idea in the manual and have them stand or sit, or do thumbs up or thumbs down, smile or frown, or use the happy and sad face from last weeks lesson. Enrichment activity #1: Here's a cute mini coloring book with the lyrics to the song. Print one for each child. If you have an older class they can cut and staple the books together during class. For younger classes I would have it ready ahead of time. Cut the pages apart and bind either with staples or hole punch the top corner and bind with a book ring or ribbon. If you are like me and have a few kids that are not real interested in making one for themselves (this could also read as a couple of 8 year old boys that have no interest in any of my coloring activities haha) encourage them to make on for their younger siblings. My hope is that they will bring this little book to church with them and look through it during Sacrament meeting. (Update: the link is now fixed. I'm so sorry to those that needed the mini book sooner! If there is ever a problem with one of the downloads please don't hesitate to let me know.) Download mini book here Enrichment Activity #3: Print and cut into 5 puzzle pieces. Make sure you have one question per puzzle piece. Place pieces on the table or hide around the room. Answer the questions and put the puzzle together. (B&W version also included) Enrichment Activity #4 A cute visual to go with the activity. Say together and ask the questions in the manual. \ Print the downloads Here and here and match game here Adorable graphics from Melonheadz, Mather's Music, Krista Wallden - Creative Clips, Graphics From the Pond, Party Printables, P4 Clips Trioriginals , and fonts by Hello Literacy

Supplemental activities to go along with {I Can Be A Friend}, Sunbeam lesson #33 in the Primary 1 manual. Coloring Page I found this coloring page image from s-media-cache-ak0 and created a printable you can download here: {I Can Be A Friend free printable download coloring page} Friendship Mix (treat). Give each child a small sandwich bag of an individual snack (fruit loops, marshmallows, goldfish, cheerios, pretzels, m&ms, raisins, yogurt bites, etc.) and tell them NOT to open it. (They are three. They're going to want to open it.) Ask them if their treats look yummy. Explain that each bag by itself has a yummy treat in it. But what would happen if everyone added their treat together to a big bowl? Invite each child up one at a time and have them dump their treat into the big bowl. After all have done this, mix the snack mix up and show them how much better the treat will taste because they shared; now everyone in the classroom will get to taste ALL of the yummy treats! Then scoop some of the new friendship mix back into their baggies. Friendship Game This "game" is merely a fun tool used to generate discussion on what makes a good friend. {Free Printable Friendship Game pdf here}

To help remind the children to be reverent in primary last year our primary president made a cute sign, I can't remember exactly where she got the idea. I was telling my sister-in-law about it and she wanted a copy. So here is what I came up with. Just print it off on cardstock, cut out and glue or paste onto a tongue depressor/craft stick. How to use it: Introduce it to the children, explaining what each finger/picture mean (eye: eyes looking up front, arms folded: keep hands to self/fold arms, lips: mouths closed/no talking, ear: Ears ready to listen, shoes: feet still and on ground). Explain that when the sign is raised then they need to do those things, the sames goes with when a leader raises their hand in a five. The goal is for the leader to be able to hold their own hand up and the children quiet down and be reverent. I think we reminded the children what the five things were with the sign for about a month or two. Then we would just use our hand and it works great! * Tip for printing: click on image and print. Works best if you reduce margins *

Happy Sunday! I hope you week has been great. We've been busy with all things school. This week during our Come Follow Me scripture study we are going to be discussing Samuel the Lamanite. You may notice a theme as you scroll through the activities of hearts and arrows. In these chapters we learn the the spirit speaks to us in our hearts. We are going to discuss ways we can draw closer to the spirit and allow the Spirit to speak to us or are we sometimes allowing things to prevent us from letting the Spirit in our lives (these are the arrows). I hope you find something that works for your family or primary class. If you have any questions or trouble with the download please let me know. It is so exciting to me when my artwork can bless people in places I may never have an opportunity to even visit. My favorite comment ever received here on this blog was a little message from Guatamala telling me that the Sister Missionaries there were using my art to set up a new primary full of kids who had never had the experience before. (!) I feel so blessed to have a very small part in that. The problem with trying to create something for a world wide church is that it's difficult to account for every beautiful difference and situation in my art. Let's face it, I have lived my entire life in Utah. There is not a whole lot of diversity here. I even served my mission in New York. So I don't know any other languages either. I sincerely want my artwork to work for all of our heavenly father's children, but I'm limited in my ability to do that. That's why I've made a few different versions of this poster. One that is ready to print if you want it that way, One that you can write your own language on, and one that you can color if you'd like. Hopefully one of these versions will be useful to you in whatever way you need it. This poster was created as 11x14 which is a standard print size at Costco, Sam's Club, etc. (I think it costs around $3) But you can always adjust the size bigger or smaller.

Lesson helps and handouts for LDS Primary 3 Lesson 32: Remembering Jesus Christ When We Take the Sacrament
Nope, this article isn't a scholarly research report about how Nephi's ship could have possibly been constructed, it's just a simple papercraft project that you might find useful for a primary lesson or FHE.
Hello and thank you for stopping by :) I am excited to share these fun and free Come Follow Me lesson helps that are perfect for families and primary. We are covering Alma 39-42 and will be discussing being an example, how repentance brings happiness, and a little about the Plan of Salvation. You will find the free download at the end of this post and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Here's a look at what's included this week: Song dice that adds a new element of fun to the song "Do as I'm doing." This is perfect for kids that do not want to think of their own action when they are the leader. A new mini book with journaling prompt at the end. Teach your children about letting their light shine with this fun flashlight game played in the dark. We are going to use a story from Elder Renlund to learn more about repentance and how it brings happiness. Journal pages with space to write or draw. We'll review the Plan of Salvation with this fun, interactive file folder activity and read the words of Alma on this topic. I hope you find something that will work for your family or primary class this week. If you have any questions or trouble with the download please let me know.
