Today is exciting because it's the day that Stampin'Up releases the second round of Sale-A-Bration (SAB) products. We already had a wonderful selection of SAB items available... but now there are even more! So today I am starting with my favourite of the new items.... it's this beautiful Designer Series Paper called "Springtime Foils"! Today I wanted to send out a reminder about the Technique Class on Sat. March 10th @ 11:00. We will be working with the Bruscho, shaving cream, Embossing Paste and who knows what else I might throw in. If you want to come get your creative juices flowing and fingers all inky, then join my on Sat. the 10th. Now on today's project. I wanted to use the new Springtime Foils DSP (free with $50.00 purchase before S&T). I am going to show you 4 different backgrounds I created with this beautiful DSP. This one I spritzed the background with Pacific Point Spritzer. What is spritzer you ask. I take 20-30 drops of re-inker and put it in a spray bottle and a little spoon full of Pearl-X. If you have a little too much pooling going on, you can dab with a paper towel. Stamp phrase in Pacific Point punch both layers with Triple Banner Punch. Die the Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon with the same Spritzer. Add bling and assemble! This next one I used the Basic Grey Ink. For this all you need to do is drag the ink pad from top to bottom until you get the desired effect you are looking for. I then buffed over the top to remove the ink from the embossed areas. Die cut & punch the pieces out of the Basic Black before layering everything up. Stamp the phrase in Basic Gray and Punch. Add Bling and assemble! This one would make a great man b-day card. Next, I used a sponge with Lemon Lime Twist! Doesn't this just jump out and say SPRING! Now do you see those little sprigs of ribbon behind the die cut words. I had a little piece of ribbon left over and decided to pull it apart. I took those pieces and just attached them to the back. Colored the pearl with the Old Olive Light Stampin Blends. I thought it went with the Lemon Lime Twist! Last one I of course had to use the Brusho. I used the Blue and Yellow. Love this effect! Sprinkle the Brucho on and spritz with water. If you get too much pooling going on, just use a paper towel to soak it up. You can set it aside to dry or dry with a heat gun. Die Cut the Celebrate and stamp with Basic Black and Whala! I added Wink of Stella to the Celebrate and attached the Metallic Thread on the back! Now I only used the one background but this paper comes with 4 different backgrounds. So much potential with this paper. For my first card I coloured the flowers and leaves with the Dark Pink and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends, added strips of the Rose Gold dot paper and adhered to a Blushing Bride card base. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set which I teamed with the Labels to Love stamp set. I love the outline image which was punched out using the Everyday Label punch. For my second card I used the same card design, just changed the patterned paper to the silver foil sheets and a Smoky Slate card base. The Springtime Foils Sale-a-Bration paper is so stunning on it's own that it barely requires anything extra. Here, all I've done is chop a 9cm x 11.5cm piece into 3 panels (each 3cm wide). I've added a contrasting strip of the striped pattern across the bottom. My old fave Flower Shop stamp set and Pansy Punch is the perfect focal point, and some Gold Foil leaves finish it off. The base card is Smoky Slate and the sentiment has been embossed in Silver. Here is a clean & simple flowery card, using the Springtime Foils Designer Paper! I colored the flowers/leaves using the Stampin' Blends. I think it turned out so pretty! Did you notice the green ribbon? I colored the Vanilla Gold 3/8" Edge ribbon with my Light Old Olive Stampin' Blend. Cool huh! And coloring the ribbon is just so easy to do!! You can now make many different colors of ribbon to match & add to your card! Just grab your Stampin' Blend......it is that easy! Here is were I just colored one end of the Springtime Foils designer paper. I then cut it at 4" x 3" & got 4 pieces along this edge! stamp set: 'Perennial Birthday' card stock: Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaz, Whisper White Stampin' Blends: Light Pumpkin Pie, Light Old Olive other: Very Vanilla 3/8" Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2" Circle Punch ++++++++ Yesterday was a busy day with kids. Last night we met all of our kids in town & ate supper together at the Copper Lantern. I then worked on stamping stuff when we got home. This is the first week of the month... and you know what that means.... the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month I run my Stamp-a-Stack classes. I run one class at night on a Tuesday so that my daytime workers can make it, and one class during the day on a Wednesday which works well for my customers who dont work during the day. The classes are not large, but I am blessed to have a beautiful group of ladies that attend these classes. Some lovely friendships have been made whilst also exercising our creative muscles :-) Stamp-a-Stacks are named that because basically we make a stack of cards for you to take home.... a total of 6 altogether. There are 2 different designs and we make 3 of each. The card above is one of our designs for this class. I've done it as a "Thinking of You" card... but you could easily change the sentiment if you wish. Hi and thanks for visiting today :) I wanted to share a card I made recently using the stunning Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper which was a Sale-A-Bration 2nd Release free item. Were you lucky enough to get your hands on a pack of this gorgeous paper? Or perhaps a couple of packs? Sadly Sale-A-Bration is now over and this paper is no longer available, however I still wanted to share my card with you. My colour palette uses Pink Pirouette, Powder Pink, Old Olive and Whisper White, plus the Champagne Foil that is part of the DSP with a small appearance by Daffodil Delight. I coloured my flowers using the Pink Pirouette, Old Olive & Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends. My card base is Pink Pirouette to match my flowers. To make sure my sentiment was readable, I went with Powder Pink ink and was able to include a matching Powder Pink Itty Bitty Bow. The sentiment comes from the Colourful Seasons stamp set and is cut out using an oval from the Stitched Shapes framelits. I stamped the sentiment on this card, but everything else is patterned paper, cardstock and Foil sheets. My colour scheme is Pool Party, White and Copper/Rose Gold. I LOVE these colours together! I've cut out the flower from the DSP and coloured it with my Pool Party and Crumb Cake Blends. The intricate die cut is from the Petals & More thinlits, and the sentiment is from the co-ordinating Petal Palette stamp set. I've embossed it in Copper, and popped some Copper thread behind. Waterfront I think I might have mentioned a time or two how much I love the new Sale-a-Bration item . . . the Springtime Foils Designer Series paper. It is a thicker DSP and accepts color quite well. It is pretty on its own, but I really do like coloring it in. My friend, Susie, had a card on her blog the other day with a beautiful colored ribbon and I thought . . . "I don't remember that ribbon in the catalog." I read a little further and saw where she colored the white or vanilla metallic edge ribbon with the Stampin' Blends to make a variety of colors. I thought that would be perfect for this card.
