I am delighted to be able to play with Inkspire Me because I loved the idea of being able to add my own colour to the neutrals. I chose a colour that I seldom ever use - Pumpkin Pie. I found myself colouring in the flowers from Amazing You, a Sale-a-bration set, in the bright orange almost against my will! I started with a sponged stencilled background in Smoky Slate. I stamped the flower from Amazing You in Tuxedo Black and stamped extra leaves around it. The spray is built up with Pumpkin Pie blooms, and die cuts in Smoky Slate and vellum from Bouquet Bunch framelits. The sentiment is from Perennial Birthday, a new set from the Occasions catalogue. The Pumpkin Pie sequins are also from the Occasions catalogue and I've added a small rhinestone in the centre of them and one in the flower centre to make three. I've been trying out my newest stamp set this morning. I'd planned on only making one card but stamped and heat embossed spares - I always need spares for when I make the inevitable mistake!! Today must have been a good day as no mistakes were made so I had enough images for two cards!! The first: I stamped and heat embossed the flowers with gold before lightly water colouring with distress inks. Then die cut the images and adhered them with foam squares to add dimension. I'm going to enter these challenges: TIME OUT Challenge #57 - this week the challenge is to be inspired by words - "May all your weeds be wild flowers" - in may case both of my cards are wild flowers! I CaSEd this card from Pinterest while on a girls weekend away and now I can't find the original for the life of me! I know I did make some changes to it, but I was mainly inspired by the stamped background....yes that is ONE stamp, stamped multiple times to make a background. De overige hartjes niet weggegooid maar verdeeld op de kaart. O ja, en niet te vergeten... onder de hartjes zit een stukje wit Flax Ribbon. Natuurlijk kan er nog veel meer met deze set, maar dat laat ik je graag een andere keer zien. Get you Myths and Magic DSP HERE I created last month a gift set for boys using the same DSP . I made this set so my son has cards available for his friends as their birthdays arise during the year. Thinking along the same lines I decided it was only fair that my daughter has the same sort of thing on hand for her friends. Here is my Project. Magical Day #kocreationscards #stampindreamsbloghop #SDBH #cardmaking #mythsandmagic #magicalday #stampinup #notecards #giftbox #giftset #mermaids #unicorns VERY Basic instructions I started by measuring the pieces I would need to cover my pizza box with, I made the covers 4mm smaller than the made up pizza box sides and top/bottom. I then made my note cards 3"x 3" (7.7cm x 7.7cm) and a cover layer for them 1/8" (4mm) The vellum layers are also 1/8" (4mm) smaller than the DSP card covers. I stuck my layers to the cards and the box using mutlipurpose liquid glue. I then stamped my required images on thick Whipser White. I coloured them using my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I also fussy cut from the DSP a small castle and 2 mermaids. Punch vellum leaves using the leaf punch. I added all my bits and pieces to the cards and the box to complete each design. This stamp set comes as a bundle and is available right up until the 31st May 2018 along with the gorgeous DSP AND the Mini Pizza boxes. I hope you have enjoyed my project today. Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. The Design Team have been busy making projects inspired by our Saleabration & Occassions Catalogue theme. The team are from all over Australia who have all created amazing projects to share with us tonight. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what new products you're looking forward to? I've been super inspired with the new upcoming catalogue products and I've made 3 projects to share tonight. First I just had to showcase the cute Panda!! I've made a bookmark with large paper clips. I stamped the panda in Memento black, then cut it with a large circle punch. I used my new Stampin Blends to colour the blank around the panda. I wrote my own little message on their envelope. Foam strips aare the perfect thickness for these large clips, cut another starburst circle for the back. My next project is using the Sweet Soirée Suite, in particular the Embellishment kit. These preprinted elements are great for that last minute 'I need a card!' times. Lastly I have made a cute bottle card using the Bubble Over bundle & it's FREE dsp (with a qualifying order)! This was one of the Sale-a-Bration sets that I thought I wouldn't want or need, until I took a closer look at the sentiments. There are greetings that cover love, friendship, thanks, and sympathy....quite a spectrum. So, I went ahead and chose it for my free SAB item. It wasn't even in the house 24 hours when I needed to make a sympathy card. (Gosh, there have been a lot of those recently.) I found that when using the DistINKtive stamps, I get a much better image if I ink the stamp using a sponge dauber, rather than pressing the stamp on the ink pad. Because they are so finely detailed, the ink tends to get in the grooves and mess up the details. A light inking with a sponge dauber works quite well for me! For good measure, I huff on the stamp before pressing it on the cardstock. The soon-to-be-available Rectangle Stitched Framelits were used here, but I shortened both the image and the greeting panels. How, you ask? Easy! After cutting the image and the greeting (with both of them placed close to one side of the Framelit), I popped them out and then moved the Framelit over to cut off the part I didn't want. You can feel when the "teeth" fit into the previously cut stitches, so it lines up perfectly. Feed the cardstock through the Big Shot with the part you want cut off going in first. You only need the make sure the first part goes through (don't crank it all the way through!), then back it out. Here's another tip: Cut a mask by stamping on a sticky note and trimming just inside the edges of the image. Make sure some of the masked image is showing when you stamp the next layer because the stamp won't reach right up to the mask, leaving a gap as shown between the two larger lilies. I did better when I stamped the smaller lily. As pretty as this card turned out, I sure hope it's a long time before I need to make another one.
