Hello, and welcome. I have a quick and easy project for you today that I copied straight out of the Holiday Catalog. I used our Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Die along with Whisper White Card Stock to cut these little guys out. The faces are made from elements out of the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit. The bow is Real Red 1/8" Curly Ribbon. I put 3 candy Kisses in each one. The perfect amount for a little treat. Today I have another sneak peek for you. This Mini Curvy Keepsake Box is my first Christmas share from the upcoming Holiday mini. It is just sooooo stinkin' cute!!! I love the size and also the Holly and Berry stamp is beautiful. It is from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set. A beautiful new set, I will have more to share with that later, it amazing! I stamped the Holly image with Stack Stazon and colored with my Aqua Painter and ink pads. I fussy cut it out and put aside to make my box. I die cut the box using a piece of DSP from the Let it Snow pack. I also die cut two ovals from the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Dies set, one for my sentiment and one for the Holly leaves. The "Joy" came from the "Hearts Come Home" stamp set from last year, that is no longer available. I layered the two die cut ovals together and ran two pieces of white twine through the holes to attach them to the box. I ran the twine through the handles of the box and tied a pretty bow. I then used dimensionals to add the Holly image to the oval. I used my Wink of Stella pen all over the Holly and Berry image. It adds a really pretty shimmer. I am in love with the Curvy Keepsake Box Die from SU! It makes an elegant little gift box & is such a perfect size. This fortnight the team at CASE-ing the Catty are taking inspiration from boxes & bags in the Holiday Catalogue, so I just had to make a box from the curvy keepsake box die. :) I used the red box on page 11 of the Holiday Catty as an inspiration for my project, as I think the print (washi tape) panel looks fabulous with the solid colour box. I used a print (DSP) panel, then took it a step further by lining the underside of the other panels with crumbcake cardstock for further contrast. Here is my project:- The tag dies that come with the box are really sweet & dainty. I discovered the oval one was the perfect size for this image from the For the Birds stamp set. It has been stamped in Versamark, then Black Memento Ink & heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It's been coloured with Blendabilities markers. A double espresso baker's twine bow completes the project. I am on a little holiday at the moment, staying with my crafting bestie, Lynne. Favors made with SU Curvy Keepsake die My sister, Adrianne's bridal shower was last Saturday! I can finally show some of the projects I worked on for her shower! It was so much fun to plan the shower with my sisters, Connie, Rochelle and Andrea! Mom helped too! It was the first party in our new home too! I loved having family and friends come to celebrate such a wonderful event! Close up of banner The banner above was made with Stampin Up's banner dies. I borrowed them from my sister but I think I may have to purchase them myself. It is a great way to make banners. My sister, Rochelle made the fabulous letter "D" covered in pictures of my sister and her intended. It is leaning against the TV. I wanted a picture of my sister with the decorations on the front porch. We used the wedding dress from my sister Connie's wedding! I made the flowers that you can just see on the top of the small ladder. They are Origami flowers and really fun to make! Close up of Origami flowers On the other side of the porch, I made Pinwheels using the We R Memory Keepers pinwheel maker board. I love them! The wind was blowing just enough to make them spin! Sorry this post is so long but I wanted to finish with the Screen Door we decorated with pictures of Adrianne thru the years- I used a Spellbinders die to make this banner. If you enjoyed seeing Blossom the Lion yesterday, then I think you'll enjoy these birdie boxes made with the fabulous curvy keepsake die. I made these back in October/November too but hopefully you'll forgive the delay since I've shared my punch cheat sheets for them so you can easily make your own little guys. One sweet birdie I'd seen this this cute owl box by Sarah in my Pinterest travels & loved the look of the wings. I wasn't really sure how she'd made them so I had a play & adapted the scallop circle punch to fit the curved side of the box. You can see all the pieces I used in this cheat sheet pic: You might notice that it shows to add some birdie feet. Sadly, the modern label punch used is retiring (& I believe is now sold out) but she still looks cute without them. You could also use the blossom punch as an alternative (see penguin below). Here's a final joined pic so you can pin or save the 2 pics together to use later. A Christmas Penguin There were LOTS of penguin boxes around last Christmas. Mine is mainly adapted from one in this vid by Amanda Fowler with little twists by me. Here's my punch cheat sheet. I used a bone folder to curve the punched ovals for his wings. I've given 2 options for the feet - using the blossom punch & modern label punch - both of which are retiring (I know!). One other note - the Santa hat is attached to the box base using a punched word window, folded in half into an L shape. I attached one half to the back of the hat & the other to the base. Let's say that today I'm getting in early for Christmas, rather than being late from last year ;-). Either way, I hope you enjoy seeing some Christmassy curvy keepsake characters. These are all based on cute boxes I've seen & pinned on Pinterest. Rudolf the Reindeer Rudolf is Santas favourite reindeer pal. He's based on this cute one by Darla. I added a fun tag from the Merry Everything stamp set & co-ordinating punch. You can see what I did on my handy dandy cheat sheet. and here's the combined image for you to pin or save. Santa's tummy & hat tag I saw a bajillion of these last year so I have no idea who thought of the idea in the first place, but the choice of pieces is based on what I thought looked right. The fab Santa hat was a brilliant idea from my fellow JAI team member & truly lovely lady, Nikki. Here's a closer pic of the tag. The hat is made with the pennant punch - sadly another retiring punch so get it now if you love making pennants... or Santa hats & it's 50% off too! To make it you'll need to punch 1 regular pennant in red & 1 scallop pennant in white. You place the white piece back into the punch - upside down so you can line up & cut the second scallop. The bobble top is a half inch circle. You can see a couple of options for making Santa's belly in my cheat sheet below. Note - the petite curly label punch is also retiring so if you like the cool, curvy shape, add that one to your list too. Here's the combines cheat sheet to pin or save. Christmas robin redbreast birdie This little birdie may be unfamiliar to my Australian peeps but when I saw Zoe's cute robin redbreast birdie box it made me smile & brought back memories of my Scottish childhood....& he's just so cute :-) I added another stamped tag using Merry Everything to make him even cuter too. I wasn't sure what dimensions Zoe used, but here's the cheat sheet showing the pieces & positioning. And here's the combined pic for you to pin or save. This chick is so stinkin' cute!!!! The chick is made with So Saffron Cardstock. I used Pumpkin Pie Cardstock for his beak and feek. The beak is just a scrap piece of cardstock I trimmed into a triangle. His feet are made with the Medium Daisy Punch.
