Card Sketch # 281 This weeks card sketch is a really cute one and so many ideas come to mind for this weeks sketch that I wanted to make with it . My first choice was using the new stamp set Hey
We had Hey Chick in the past and now we have Hey Chuck! And Hey Chuck is just as much fun to use for creating projects. Today I am using the Hey Chuck Bundle to create a note card set. This project is from a recent gathering of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from the state of Georgia. Attendees created the note card set as one of their projects. To color the images watercolor pencils and a blender pen were selected. The technique of using watercolor pencils and a blender pen is often forgotten but is a great alternative to Stampin' Blends.
Welcome to Makeover Monday!! I can't seem to get enough of this adorable stamp set!! Today's project is perfect for the avid crafter. I made several changes to yesterday's Simple Sunday's card. Which card do you prefer: Here are the dimensions: Poppy Parade, 11 X 4-1/4, score at 5-1/2 Flirty Flamingo, 4-7/8 X 3-5/8 Basic White, 4-3/4 X 3-1/2, emboss with the Exposed Brick EF Poppy Parade DSP, 1-1/2 X 3-1/2 Flirty Flamingo, 1/8 X 3-1/2 Flirty Flamingo, 2-1/4 X 1-5/8 Basic White, 2-1/4 X 1-5/8, die cut Basic Black scrap Basic
Truth be told... I really wasn't planning on buying the Hey Chuck stamp set, but when I saw it in the lineup for Barry & Jay's Coloring Masterclass, I grabbed it real quick on my demonstrator order so I'd be ready for class!! Jay taught us so many great skills during our Stampin' Blends coloring class, and after I was done with our class, I created these cards (and a few more). For the background of this card, I stamped the Rays of Light background stamp with Daffodil Delight ink onto Crushed Curry cardstock, then layered onto a folded Crushed
Get a chuckle out of the Hey Chuck Bundle with this funny rooster card. What ever is he mad about? Maybe the heat?
It was fun coloring the card I’m sharing with you today, Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck Birthday Card. In the video I show you how to color the images on the card.
It's time for July's Card Sketch Challenge -- Hey Chuck is the stamp set I used for this month's fun template, making a fun birthday card.

Welcome to another week with The Paper Players Challenge. This week we were given a theme challenge: It's A Man's World. I decided to break out a new bundle... Stampin' Up Hey Chuck. I started with a piece of patterned paper from Stampin' Up One Horse Open Sleigh DSP. This is a new Online Exclusive that will be available July 1st. I adhered the DSP to a Very Vanilla mat using liquid adhesive. I adhered the layers to a Wild Wheat mat before adhering the layers to a Copper Clay card base. I stamped a rooster image from Stampin' Up Hey Chuck Stamp Set with Mementos Tuxedo Black Ink on a piece of Very Vanilla. I colored the image with Stampin' Blends: Copper Clay and Wild Wheat. I colored the beak and feet with Stampin' Up Stampin' Write Marker in Pumpkin Pie. I die cut the rooster image and a piece of Crushed Curry card stock with Stampin' Up Hey Chuck Dies. I die cut a piece of Very Vanilla with Stampin' Up Stylish Shape Dies. I blended Crushed Curry ink onto the circle die cut. I adhered circle to the card front with liquid adhesive. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink on a piece of Wild Wheat card stock. I heat embossed white embossing powder from Stampin' Up Basic Embossing Powders. I die cut the sentiment with Stampin' Up Stylish Shapes Dies. I adhered the sentiment die cut to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered the sun just above the sentiment die cut with liquid adhesive. I added the rooster die cut to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I finished the card front off with Stampin' Up 2023-2025 In Color Dots. The inside is a panel of Very Vanilla card stock with the sentiment stamped with Copper Clay ink. I adhered the panel to a Wild Wheat mat prior to adhering it to the card base. I hope you enjoyed todays card and I can't wait to see what you create for that man in your life for The Paper's Player Challenge. Hi Stampers! I find many times the cards I make are fairly straightforward; an A-2 card base, a layer of patterned paper (DSP), a focal piece, and a greeting. There are times when I tell myself I really need to “step up” my card designs, and I mix things up a bit. I might altering the layout or change the orientation, add layers, embellishments, or use special techniques. Today I thought we would take a fairly basic card and step it up a bit, but use only the supplies used for the original card. How is that possible? Two words - fun folds! That is right! Using simple fun fold cards can really “step up” your cards. In my examples I used the same supplies (had to switch out some DSP as I ran out of one design) and basically the same design to create 3 similar, but different cards. Let’s take a look. I chose to use the HEY CHUCK BUNDLE for my cards. Below is a look at that bundle. If you want more details about this bundle click HERE. HEY CHUCK STAMP SET HEY CHUCK DIES VIDEO HEY CHUCK AND HOW TO STEP UP YOUR CARDS WITH FUN FOLDS CARD NAMES I give names to all my sample fun fold cards, because this helps me remember which card is which. Some names, like a Z Fold card, I have learned from others. If I do not know the name of a fun fold, I come up with one that seems to fit. This helps me remember how to assemble the card. This is why some fun fold cards I present might have different names than the same fun fold cards presented by someone else. The Cut and Flip, Flap card is so named, because the card base is cut, then the cut piece is flipped horizontally to form the front flap of the card. As for the Cut and Paste card; the card base is cut then adhered back together. This is a little insight as to how my brain works, and how I organize my resources. MAKING THE CARDS FOR EACH OF THE CARDS YOU WILL NEED * Hey Chuck Bundle * Card base that measures 4 1/4” x 11” and scored at 5 1/2” * DSP that measures 4 x 5 1/4” * Basic White cardstock for stamping and for focal points * Silver Foil Sheets (Available in the ONLINE STORE) * Lemon Lolly cardstock * Inks - Memento Tuxedo Black and Lemon Lolly; Stampin’ Blends - Poppy Parade (dark), Crumb Cake (light), Copper Clay (light & dark), Wild Wheat ( light & dark), Lemon Lime Twist (light). * Sponge Dauber (Use this and the Lemon Lolly ink to add a little more color to the sun die cut.) * Die Cuts: 1 per card - rooster, sun, weather vane; 2 per card - fence image * Adhesive and dimensionals TIP - A bone folder is handy for creating nice crisp folds for your card bases, especially for fun fold cards. If you do not have a bone folder you can use a ruler, a popsicle stick or tongue depressor, the side of a pencil, or even a pen acrylic block. HEY CHUCK BASIC CARD INSIDE OF CARD SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD (See list above.) * Card base - Wild Wheat * DSP - 2023-2025 In Color 6” x 6” DSP * Inside panel - Basic White cardstock 5 1/4” x 4” * Focal panel mat - Wild Wheat cardstock cut at 4 1/4” x 3” * Focal panel - Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 2 3/4” ASSEMBLY NOTES * With the Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the greeting on the lower right corner of the focal panel, and stamp the second greeting centered and toward the top of the inside panel. * Adhere the inside panel to the inside of the card and adhere the DSP to the front of the card. * Adhere the focal panel to its mat * Assemble the focal panel. See the sample card for placement the two fence die cuts and the rooster are adhered with dimensionals. * Adhere the matted focal panel to the card front. HEY CHUCK CUT AND FLIP, FLAP CARD INSIDE OF CARD SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD (See the “ For Each of These Cards” list.) * Card base - Wild Wheat * DSP - 2023-2025 In Color 6”x6” DSP - the 5 1/4” x 4” piece (hearts) and a 4” x 2 1/2” piece (lines) for card front * Basic White cardstock - cut two at 4” x 2 1/2” - one for focal panel and one for inside card * Wild Wheat cardstock - 4 1/4” x 2 3/4” to mat inside panel ASSEMBLY NOTES * Place the scored card base in the trimmer with the 11” side along the top and cut at 2 3/4”. (See the diagram below.) The piece cut off will be used as the mate for the focal panel. * On one piece of the Basic White pieces stamp the inside greeting about 3/4” from the top and centered. On the second piece of Basic White cardstock stamp and assemble the focal panel as for the card above. * Adhere the DSP to the inside of the card and on the front of the card. Adhere the inside panel to to its mat and adhere the focal panel to its mat. * Close the card. Place adhesive on the back of the left side of the focal panel. Adhere the panel to the card centered as best yo can. * Open the card. Place adhesive on the back side of the matted inside panel. Place this panel face down on the focal panel. Line them up, close the card (back side over front), and rub back of card to adhere inside panel securely. The inside panel and focal panel should be lined up perfectly, allowing the inside panel to be hidden entirely by the focal panel. HEY CHUCK CUT AND PASTE CARD INSIDE OF CARD SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD (Refer to list above) * DSP - in addition to the 5 1/4” x 4” piece, you will need two pieces of the 2023-2025 In Color 6”x6” DSP- Wild Wheat - line design cut at 4” x 1 1/4” * Focal panel and inside panel- Basic White cardstock - cut 2 at 4” x 2 1/4” * Mat for inside panel - Wild Wheat cardstock cut at 4 1/4” x 2 1/2” ASSEMBLY NOTES * Place your scored card base in the trimmer with the 11” side along the top. Trim off 1 1/2” from one side, move the card base to the 2 1/2” and cut. The two pieces will be used to assemble the card front. * Stamp the greetings on the focal panel and inside panel as for the previous card. Adhere the panels to their mats. The mat for the focal panel is the largest piece trimmed from the card base. Adhere the DSP to the inside of the card and to the outside flap and smaller piece of DSP trimmed from the card. * Assemble focal panel. * Place adhesive on the back side of each end of the focal panel. Put aside. Close the card. Line up the 1 1/2” x 4 1/4” piece of cardstock with the right side of the card. Now place the focal panel centered between both ends of the card front. * Open the card. Place adhesive on the back side of the inside panel. Place the panel face down over the outside focal panel. Center the piece horizontally as best you can. Fold the right side of the card base down to adhere the panel. Rub back of the card gently to help secure the inside panel. The focal panel and inside panel should be lined up. EVOLUTION OF A CARD DESIGN VIDEO CARDS (All supplies are the same I just switched the cardstock and DSP color from Wild Wheat to Copper Clay) These cards are examples of how to take a relatively simple card layout, and using the same supplies step it up a bit by using a fun fold for the card base. The two fun folds demonstrated are easy to create, but add a little bit of “wow” to your cards! I hope you give them a try. Thanks so much for stopping by. Until next time. . . Stamp Happy! Hi everyone, sharing 3 cards I made using the Hey Chuck Bundle. I had some fun creating these cards. I was inspired by Wendy Lee who altered a piece of the Let's Go Fishing Desinger Series Paper by adding the red lines to it using a Real Red Stampin' Blend. I just loved what Wendy created so I just had to try it. These Dudes from the Hey Chuck stamp set were super fun to colour. I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Dark and Light Stampin' Blends. These are my finished cards. I hope you enjoyed these 3 Hey Chuck cards. Happy Friday, y'all! I'm hoping I get to sleep in tomorrow...seems like all week I've been waking up around 4:30 in the morning and not been able to get back to sleep. Um, I need that extra hour! I feel like 5:30 is quite early enough to be getting up, thankyouverymuch. And today's card features a couple of rather judgy chickens. I'll rise, but I won't shine : p Chickens always make me think of my great-grandmother's house. She didn't have chickens, but her next-door neighbors did, so chickens are forever linked in my mind to Mimi's house. Check out this week's Freshly Made Sketch: And the Color Throwdown: I used Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Cherry Cobbler, and at the last minute remembered to toss a couple of gold sequins on my card front. Confession time: I loved the sketch and the colors, but it took me AGES to figure out how to combine them this week! I actually made a completely different card first, using the colors but not the sketch; I may post that one tomorrow. I went through my current stamps a couple of times and nothing was coming to me...I kept thinking leaves but I don't have any current fall leaf sets, and I kinda wanted to use newer stamps. Then I finally noticed Hey Chuck, which hadn't even been inked up yet, and then this card happened pretty fast--turns out those bright fall colors are also great for judgy chickens! That's it for me today, peeps. Have a good Friday! Supplies, all SU! Stamps: Hey Chuck Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Pecan Pie Paper: Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Thick Basic White, Pumpkin Pie DSP Accessories: Hey Chuck dies, Stylish Shapes dies, Mini Dimensionals, gold sequins from a past Paper Pumpkin kit
Today I'm sharing this Hey Chuck Gift Box. Since the Hey Chuck Bundle is our bundle focus for June Card Club I'm going to be sharing one project on my blog, a couple in my newsletter to
Good day friends! Can you believe we are halfway through the year already??? Where has the time gone. We spend the day in Dekalb yesterday getting the little man all signed up for his fall classes.... less than 60 days before we become the dreaded empty nesters. Man am I glad I have this little hobby of mine to keep me busy! Today's card features Stampin' Up Hey Chuck Bundle. I started with a panel of Stampin' Up 2023-25 In Color DSP and adhered it to a panel of Wild Wheat card stock to create the card front. I die cut a piece of Basic White with Stampin' Up Stylish Shapes Dies to create 3 square dies cuts. I stamped 2 images from Stampin' Up Hey Chuck Stamp Set with Mementos Tuxedo Black ink. Now, you may notice that the chicken images are bigger than square die cuts. This is ok... that's what makes this such a fun stamp set. I stamped the cupcake to the third die cut with Mementos Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored each image using Stampin' Blends: Wild Wheat, Boho Blue, Copper Clay, Moody Mauve, Crumb Cake and Lemon Lolly. I stamped the sentiment on the cupcake die cut with Copper Clay ink. I adhered 2 of the die cuts to the card front with liquid adhesive on the left side. I adhered the third die cut to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered the card front to a Copper Clay card base. I finished off the front with a few Stampin' Up Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems. The inside is a panel of Basic White. I stamped a sentiment from Stampin' Up Charming Sentiment Stamp Set using Copper Clay ink. I adhered a strip of DSP to the bottom of the panel before adhering it to the card base.
