Happy Friday Eve and welcome to another week with with Happy Thursday Inkin' Krew! This week we were given the assignment to create a scene... I'm not going to lie to you this challenge had me a bit overwhelmed to say the least. However, I think I came up with a stunning card that is super simple. I used Stampin' Up Grassy Grove Bundle. The stamp set is stunning on its own, however when you combined it with the dies... the possibilities are endless. The card front is a panel of Stampin' Up New Horizon DSP. I die cut a piece of Basic Black with Stampin' Up Groves Dies. I die cut a circle with Stampin' Up Stylish Shape Dies out of a panel of Evening Evergreen card stock. I dry embossed the panel with Stampin' Up Painted Texture Embossing Folder. I adhered the tree die cut to the DSP with liquid adhesive. I added the embossed panel to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I die cut a piece of Basic Black with deer dies. I adhered the deer to the card front with liquid adhesive. I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set with Evening Evergreen ink on a piece of Very Vanilla. I die cut the sentiment with Stampin' Up Stylish Shapes Die Set. I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Today's card is for my great uncle who has been suffering with a broken hip. I wanted to come up with the perfect masculine card and I think I found one that works. I used Stampin' Up Grassy Groves Stamp Set. I started with a Very Vanilla card base. I inked up the grass stamp from Stampin' Up Grassy Grove Stamp Set with Mossy Meadow ink and stamped it along the bottom of the card stock. I inked up the trees with the Mossy Meadow and stamped them on each side a couple of times. I blended Old Olive ink onto the bottom of the Very Vanilla card stock using a Blending Brush. I blended Balmy Blue ink to create the sky back ground. I stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up Simply Succulent Stamp Set using Night of Navy ink. I finished the front off with Stampin' Up Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots. I adhered the card front to a Mossy Meadow Mat before adhering the card front to Soft Suede card base. The inside is a panel of Very Vanilla card stock with a sentiment stamped from Stampin' Up Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set with Night of Navy ink. I stamped the grass and trees from Stampin' Up Grassy Groves Stamp Set using Mossy Meadow ink. I adhered the Very Vanilla to a Mossy Meadow mat prior to adhering it to the inside of the card base. I cannot wait for Fall. I am Team FALL. Where's the Pumpkin Spice Latte and pretty fall cards? Here, that's where they are! Grassy Grove was one of my favorite bundles from Spring and I really wanted to bring it back out now we are starting to make cards just ahead of the next season. I knew it would make a great window scene backdrop but I couldn't resist another nature scene card! Window Wishes Bundle, Metallic & Shimmer Specialty Paper Hello Harvest Stamp Set & Grassy Grove Bundle (just the dies) The baby wipe technique is a popular way to make colorful autumn scenes quickly and you don't have wipes laying around it's ok. I actually substituted paper towels this time and it still worked. I think the baby wipes are better but I'm really happy with the paper towel version too. For the full tutorial you can refer to the YouTube replay but basically you want to use your re-inkers, about 4-7 drops of each of your colors on a damp paper towel folded into a square. You are basically creating your own multi-color ink pad. It's pretty fun! To stamp the pattern I recommend choosing any tree stamp in your collection. I used Beauty of Friendship - the largest tree stamp - because it covers a lot of area quickly - but I've also used the tree stamp in Grassy Grove too. It's really about getting the tree texture but in pretty custom colors. Using the Baby Wipe Technique in Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Old Olive The Starry Sky: If you haven't tried using the 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper as a backdrop or sky scene yet, oh my goodness you will love it. Because they are ombre it has this perfect sky look and the shimmer will set your card apart! Look at how the deer pop in this scene! The fun thing about scene cards is all of the different elements you can bring together in an unexpected way. The blending brushes create a soft grassy look and let's the fall leaves be the showstopper on your card. CARD MEASUREMENTS: Card Base: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 score at 4-1/4" (Very Vanilla and Cajun Craze) The Tree Scene Layer: Basic White Cardstock - 4 x 5-1/4" The Glimmer Paper Layer: 4 x 5-1/4" Sentiment Banner: 1 x 3" (just a hair under 1 inch to fit easily in Banner Pick-a-Punch Die Cut Deer Mom and Baby in Early Espresso Amber Gems

But you don't have to wait until next father's day to make these cards! You can swap out the father's day sentiment for a birthday, retirement or thinking of you sentiment. Here are close-ups of the first card: This card is made with the Grassy Grove Dies and the sentiment is from the He's All That Stamp Set. I watercolored the trees with a Water Painter, Old Olive Ink and Early Espresso Ink for some cool texture. Good morning! I was on a roll yesterday! I FINALLY had time to play with some of my new toys! I was in my "happy place" (even though it was not down in my studio). I started with this awesome bundle, Grassy Grove. SU! hit it out of the ballpark on this one! It is SO unique, and works SO WELL with the New Horizons DSP. The New Mini Catalog doesn't do this DSP justice! We will be doing this unique Tri-Fold at our club meeting tomorrow. Thank you Terri Gaines for your awesome inspiration! Measurements: Basic Black: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE Basic White: 4" x 10 1/2" New Horizons DSP (N): 3 3/4" x 5" To Make This Card: Fold Black base in half. Crease well with Bone Folder. With the fold on the left side, cut "grove" die from the front of card. Set aside. Note: This die only cuts a "window" not the outside edges, too! Next, fold the White, inside base in half. Crease well with Bone Folder. With fold of White card on right side, attach DSP to front of this card. Open up this card and stamp images of your choice on the inside surfaces, as shown. Note: I used my Stamparatus with these stamps to get a nice, black image! i.e. if the image needs to be darker, you can restamp the image until it is the darkness you would like. I did not add any other embellishments as I think this card stands alone!
