I haven't participated in a challange for a while to I hopped over to the Global Design Project to see what the challange was for the week. I combined that with the birthday challange from Paper Players to make this cute card. *Check out my Pinterest Idea Pin with full instructions for making this card! Can you guess what the theme is for this week? That's right...it's all about animals! I just love this little piggy so it was an easy choice for me. The GDP has a different challange each week. It's a great place for ideas and inspiration. You can go to their website to learn more. Like the GDP challange, the Paper Players have a different challange each week. Go to their blog to learn more about them. I used some of my favorite supplies while making this card. You can never go wrong when using our Stampin' Blends to color. The image will always turn out terrific whether you can color or not. I think they must come with some magic! Who doesn't love some sparkle? I use my Wink of Stella any time I can. Doesn't it make the balloon just "pop"? Lol This set makes the cutest cards for anyone in your life! Place your order to get your own This Birthday Piggy stamp set in my store today!

Hi Stampers! Today I thought we would take a look at some easy ways to add depth and dimension to cards. For today’s cards I used the THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY stamp set found in the STAMPIN’ UP!®️ 2022-2023 ANNUAL CATALOG. Here is a look at the cards: THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY CARDS THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY STAMP SET VIDEO EASY WAYS TO ADD DIMENSION TO YOUR CARDS FEATURING THIS BIRTHDAY PIGGY STAMP SET The easiest way to add a bit of depth and dimension to a card is to use layers. Each of today’s cards features layers of cardstock and patterned paper (DSP) coupled with another method for adding dimension. JUST ADD DIMENSIONALS CARD This card is very simple to create. I stamped and colored the focal image, die cut it, and added dimensionals to the back side of the piece and adhered it to the card front. The greeting is also attached to the card with dimensionals. SUPPLIES * Parakeet Party card base 4 1/4” x 11” scored and folded at 5 1/2” * Basic White cardstock - cut two at 4” x 5 1/4” - one for the inside, and one for a mat - use the mat piece to stamp and die cut the focal image and greeting. Yes, it will have a circle and rectangle cut from it, but no one will know! * 2022-2024 In Color 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper - Parakeet Party - 3 3/4” x 5” * Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Parakeet Party; Stampin’ Blends - Crumb Cake (light & dark), Natural Tones - Light #900, Petal Pink (dark), Parakeet Party (light), Fresh Freesia (light), Daffodil Delight (dark & light), Flirty Flamingo (dark) * Stylish Shapes Dies - largest circle; Stitched Rectangles Dies - one that fits sentiment best * Adhesive & dimensionals ADD A FUSSY CUT IMAGE ON DIMENSIONALS CARD This technique for adding dimension is super easy. Stamp the focal image, color the image, then stamp the image again on another piece of cardstock. Color the element of the image you want to put on dimensionals, fussy cut the element, place dimensionals on the back of this piece, and adhere it over the corresponding element on the focal piece. On this card I chose the pig image to pop up on dimensionals. The cake could be used as well. Note - For the focal image I used the Stylish Shapes Dies - 2nd largest square, and the Partial Die Cutting Technique. For technique how- to, click HERE The focal image and greeting for this card were cut using the same die. For the sentiment I die cut it making sure the sentiment was near the top of the die, the ran it through the die cut machine. Next I moved the die up so the side still lined up, but the bottom of ythe die was near the bottom line of the sentiment, then I ran it through the machine again. SUPPLIES * Sweet Sorbet card blew 4 1/4” x 11” scored and folded at 5 1/2” * Basic White card stock 3 3/4” x 5” - stamp and die cut the focal image from the center of this piece * Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5 1/4” for inside card * Larger scraps of Basic White cardstock for greeting and second image * 2922-2024 In Color 6” x 6” DSP - Sweet Sorbet 3 1/2” x 4 3/4” * Inks - Memento Tuxedo Black, Sweet Sorbet; Stampin’ Blends - Sweet Sorbet (dark & light), Flirty Flamingo (dark & light), Crumb Cake (dark & light), Ivory, Balmy Blue (light), Daffodil Delight (light), and Soft Sea Foam (light), Bronze * Paper Snips / scissors * Adhesive and dimensionals Note - stamp the focal image, color, and do the partial die cut technique. Stamp the image again, color the pig, fussy cut the pig image, add dimensionals to the back, adhere it over the pig on the focal image. Adhere the focal image and greeting to the card with dimensionals. WOBBLY SPRING CARD This focal image on this card is created just like the previous card, except the main focal image is attached to the card with an easy to make wobbly spring. In the video above I show you how I made the wobbly spring. I also demonstrate how to make the spring with photos, written instructions, in another blog post and a video HERE SUPPLIES * Tahitian Tide card base - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” * Basic White cardstock cut 2 at 4” x 5 1/4” - emboss one with embossing folder of choice- I used the Time worn Type 4-D embossing folder, he other piece of cardstock is for the inside of the card * 2022-2024 In Color 6” x 6” DSP - Tahitian Tide / dots cut at 4 3/4” x 3 1/3” * Basic White cardstock for focal panel, die cut with Stitched Rectangles Die to measure 4” x 2 5/8” * Inks - Memento Tuxedo Black, Tahitian Tide; Stampin’ Blends - Flirty Flamingo (dark & light), Tahitian Tide (dark & light), Crumb Cake (dark & light), Pool Party (light), plus colors of choice for confetti * Stitched Rectangles Dies * Paper Snips * Adhesive SUPPLIES FOR THE WOBBLY SPRING * Two pieces of cardstock (any color is fine) cut at 1 1/2” x 3/4” each, scored at 3/4” (you can adjust the size to fit your image, these cutting dimensions will result in wobbly spring device that measures about 3/4” square) * Beading wire -2mm -about 3 1/2” * Something to wrap wire around to form spring - I use a plastic size G crochet hook. I have also used a round chop stick, the handle of a watercolor paint brush, and a small screwdriver. * Piercing Tool * Tear & Tape (or other two sided tape) CARDS ASSEMBLED IN VIDEO The measurements and most supplies for these cards are the same as for their matching cards above. Below each of these cards I have listed the cardstock colors, the DSP used, and any changes in ink. JUST ADD DIMENSIONALS VERSION 2 CARD BASE - - Crushed Curry; DSP - Tea Boutique ADD A FUSSY CUT IMAGE ON DIMENSIONAL 2 CARD BASE - Crushed Curry; DSP - Butterfly Kisses; Ink - Crushed Curry WOBBLY SPRING CARD 2 CARD BASE - Sweet Sorbet; DSP - 2022-2024 In Color 6” x6” DSP - Sweet Sorbet; Ink - Sweet Sorbet There you have it, a few easy ways to add a bit of dimension to your cards! Hello stampers, I finally got my pre-order in & hopefully will be creating some sneak peeks to share with you later this week or next. Today, I'm sharing a card using a new set in the annual catalog & if you were lucky to get the now-retired This Little Piggy stamp set this should work well with it. I started the card with a piece of Basic White Cardstock that I die cut using the Deckled Rectangle Dies which I then stamped with the This Birthday Piggy Stamp Set using Memento Black Ink colored with Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate & Basic Black Stampin' Blends Combo Packs. The confetti was colored with many other colors that are included in the product list below. This was then layered on a Daffodil Delight Cardstock piece that was die cut with the Deckled Rectangle Dies just 1 size bigger. For the base layer, I used Basic White Cardstock that was embossed using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, then layered on a Daffodil Delight Cardstock base. ~Thanks for stopping by! I love a good shaker card, especially when it's super easy to create, like this one featuring This Birthday Piggy stamps by Stampin' Up! I used a few key items on this card that makes for easy shaker cards... 1. Picture This Dies 2. Window Sheets 3. Foam Adhesive Strips And, of course, you can't have a good shaker card without good shaker bits! This time I used For Everything Fancy Sequins. You get SO MANY sequins in this package. I chose to just use the blue ones for this project, but you also get green and pink. I love that the shaker bits have a variety of sequins with each color. It makes it more fun and feels like a party in a card! (A not messy party, my favorite! 😁) Need some help putting this card together? Watch my YouTube Tutorial below. Happy Stamping! I have a bit of a soft spot for these piggies, ever since we first had them in last year's Catalogue. The This Birthday Piggy stamp set sees them in some new poses. I think this scooter one is my favourite, but of course I made cards using all 3. I didn't want anyone to feel left out! This little guy in his 'happy place' is also pretty cute: I had fun colouring my piggies using Stampin' Blends, and cut them out with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I used the Tea Boutique 6"x6" Designer Series Paper in the background. As well as the cute teacup and teapot patterns, there are some lovely background patterns too, and the Petal Pink and Sweet Sorbet colour scheme suited my piggies very well. I popped the elements on a angle, just to give it a bit more interest, since it's otherwise a very simple card. Thanks for stopping by! Hello and welcome to my blog! I'm excited to be joining the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop today. I love being a part of these fun Blog Hops with other stampers sharing what we love and create! Links to all the other blog posts for this hop are near the end of this post! - be sure to check them out! Hopefully you will be as inspired as I always am seeing what everyone else creates for this month's challenge. One of my favorite things about doing the different blog hops is that we are often challenged to use sketches, techniques or colors that we maybe wouldn't use or are just not our normal thing. This month's challenge ~ for this very creative blog hop ~ is Fun Folds! I'm always amazed at what other paper crafters do with fun folds, but have to admit, I tend to play it safe and keep it pretty simple myself. With that being said, I do think they are lots of fun, am pleased with my simple one and can't wait to see what everyone else on this hop creates! This Birthday Piggy is the stamp set I've been using all week and I thought it was perfect for this challenge! I kept the layers flat for this one and colored the image with a few Stampin' Blends. (Not sure why the inside looks so square in this photo. It's really not!) CARD Adorable "This little piggy....says thanks" card from the Stampin Up This Little Piggy Stamp set, the flowers are from the Cozy Cottage Hostess Stamp Set* (Occasions Catalog). The pig image is colored with Stampin Blends markers, while the reminder of the image is colored with Stampin Write (classic) markers. The background is layered on the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper. The card base is textured with the Pinewood Planks folder. Both the Pig and word images are cut with the Stitched Shapes Square dies. There is a cool trick to make a rectangle out of a square die. Check out my video to learn how to do this.

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the Stampin' Up! Onstage event, one of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. We had the opportunity to see the upcoming catalogue and have a play with some of the new products. A set that I was lucky enough to win is called This Little Piggy, and here are some samples from my first play with it. This is just one of the amazing new sets in the upcoming catalogue, but first I need to make the most of the retiring products. Back soon with discontinued samples. We have just heard some fantastic news! Stampin' Up! is opening up within Ireland and Belgium later this year! That's incredible. Hooray!!! That means any of you in Ireland and Belgium can start looking and downloading the catalogue from Stampin' Up! NOW! We will be informed of the dates in the coming months but anyone who is interested in buying the beautiful products or hopefully even joining this amazing company, the time is getting much closer.. Oh! I'm really excited this is at last happening and hope that you are too! Now changing the subject.... today's card is one that I haven't made for a while but I enjoyed making it anyway so using This Birthday Piggy stamp set, I started by stamping the pig on the motor scooter and then had great fun colouring it in with my stampin' blends pens. I don't know what it is about colouring pictures but I find it so very relaxing. I guess that it takes me back to being a little girl at home with my brother and sisters, just enjoying the family fun. Once it was coloured I took the Stylish Shapes Dies which have the stitched edges and cut out the image. I have used Soft Sea Foam for the card today and adhered a mat of the lovely silver, spotted paper that will be available during Saleabration which starts in only a few days. I then took the slightly larger die and cut the circle from the centre-front of the card base. I added the coloured image to the green circle and using Dimensionals, placed it through the front of the card and adhered it to the inside. Adding a few sentiments, flowers and butterflies completed this card.
Sketchtember Challenge 2022, Day 16, This Birthday Piggy, Kids birthday card, Perfect Partners Stampin' up! promotion
Whoop! Whoop! The new catalog is now live and there are SO many great new stamps sets and accessories. One you may have seen is a sneak peak set we got at On Stage in April. It is "This Little Piggy" and it is adorable. I can't say I'm into pigs but Charlotte's Web is my favorite children's story and so, when I saw this, it reminded me so much of Wilbur. I will be making some cards with that theme in the future. For now, here is the card I created for our team's Virtual Swap, which was to create anything using a new product. I'm showing the outside and inside. Stamping this little piggy works best if stamped with Black Archival Ink onto Watercolor Paper. That way you can use your blender pen to color him in. On the inside I, obviously, didn't have watercolor paper, but it still seemed to work pretty well. To get the spots, I just dipped my Blender Pen into the lid of the Sahara Sand Ink Pad and made random splotches. And don't forget those really cute Enamel Dots, which are back again! Come back next week to see posts using the new Crate Die and matching stamp set. I am demoing at stamp fest so I have several samples. Have a great weekend.

Now on to the fun part, the cards! I had to use some pink for today's card. Pigs are pink right? So I've gone with using one of the new 2017-2019 In Colours, Powder Pink. So pretty and so pink. Perfect to go with the This Little Piggy Stamp Set. My card is pretty straight forward today. Little bit of colouring, little it of stamping and few embellishments. Sometimes that's all you need for a fun card. I started with the stamping of the pig. I first stamped it in Versamark Ink and then inked it up with Memento Black ink so that I could emboss the image with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. I find that when I'm colouring an image I like to Clear Emboss the outline. You don't have to be so careful when colouring if the outline is embossed and the ink doesn't bleed outside the lines when water colouring. I just started with a light wash of colour when colouring the image and then gradually added more colour to the areas that I wanted to be darker. To colour the pig I just squeezed the Powder Pink Ink Pad so that there was some colour in the top of the lid and then picked up the colour off that using and aqua painter. Love that the ink pads are designed like that. Less mess. Once the cute little piggy was coloured I fussy cut it out and then added all the other elements to the card. The 'This Little Piggy' words were part of the pig image so to stamp the words with out the pig I masked off the image above the words with Washi Tape, inked up the words, removed the tape and then I could stamp the words down without the outline of the pig as well. On the inside you could then stamp any one of the other sentiments like 'Loves You' or 'Says Thanks' to finish off the card. Now on to the fabulous Ann Schach for some more cuteness and fun.
