I coloured the Apple with Stampin' Blends following the detail in the stamp set to make the colouring super easy. I Made sure to ground the Apple also using Stampin' Blends to finish the card. Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Pootles - Large Triangular Box using Fruit Stand Paper Spin it, then Pin it! I love this box! I first created it in February
Don't you just love the idea of a reusable note pad holder? You can easily just replace the note pad once it's finished because there's a slot to slide the cardboard backing into. I can't take credit for the idea. I came across it yesterday on Deb Felts' blog, where she shares her instructions on how to create it. Luv that. This is my version of a phone message pad using Twitterpated B&Ts, and a new A-sized stamp set called A Sip. I spelled out "Messages" with a set called Tiny Typewriter Alphabet. Another fave of mine. The cup is pop-dotted for added dimension. I really wanted to use a Sweet Leaf button only to find that I'm out, so I improvised and used a Key Lime button, a retired colour. I also wrapped a black pencil in striped B&T by using 1" wide Super Tape to adhere it with. On the inside, I added a small piece of cardstock (my own addition to Deb's instructions) to wrap from the front to the back and decorated the front of it with B&T. I only adhered this piece to the back and the bound side edge of the notepad, leaving the front free to be able to tear pages off of the notepad easily. Oh, and I will also mention where I got the notepads from. Quite a while ago I bought a pack of 5x8 notepads from Staples and had them cut them in half lengthwise to make them 2 1/2" x 8". So I still have quite a few left over for future projects. Hope I inspired you to give it a try yourself. Happy creating! :) Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted): Paper: Twitterpated B&T; Colonial White, Chocolate, Crystal Blue CS Stamps: A Sip, Tiny Typewriter Alphabet Inks: Sorbet, Chocolate Embellishments: Colonial White Crochet ribbon, Key Lime button, Chocolate waxy flax, Paper flowers from Chocolate Mini-Medleys Collection, Bitty Sparkles Punches: Word Window punch (SU), 1/2" circle punch (SU) Other items: 3D foam tape, 1" Super Tape (Provo Craft), Pencil (Staples brand), Micro-tip scissors

I whipped up a batch of birthday cards recently using the Many Layered Blossoms dies. They do come with a coordinating stamp set (save 10% when you buy them both together in the Blossoms in Bloom bundle) but as you will see, I didn't need the stamps for this card, the dies did all the work for me. These cards are really easy to make and super effective as a set. Fiona's pro tips: * Pick bright colours for these cards, they allow the die cuts to stand out better. I used Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Magenta Madness, and Pumpkin Pie. * Texture the background with an embossing folder of your choice. You could also consider Tasteful Textile, Brick and Mortar, or Bark 3D. * Use a metal shim when cutting out the Blossom dies. They are intricate dies and need that extra tiny bit of pressure to cut them out fully. You may also need to run it through your die cutting machine 2 or 3 times (do them in one go - don't go back or you risk misplacing the die and cutting into your die cut). If you don't have a shim you can use an extra piece of cardstock. *To get the softer layer inside the flowers, die cut your layer in vellum. I found this beautiful layout on Pinterest and CASEd it (Pinterest is my go-to for design ideas, follow me here) - it's by the talented Rochelle Blok. Wow! I can't believe that it has been over a month since I posted last. So much has happened. I participated in the Oakley Christmas Boutique (fun), and I even made a little bit of money :). Of course, I was working on Christmas presents like a crazy woman. I almost finished them all before Christmas. I didn't quite get my mother-in-law's finished. Hers is a scrapbook featuring a picture of every direct ancestor I could get and their vital info. The day before Christmas Eve my sister, whose family has been living with us for the past 6 months, told me that she found a place to live. They moved the next day. We helped her move on Friday and then helped another family in our area move Saturday morning. I wanted to post the tutorial for this box today, but I am going to be helping my sister finish moving all of their paraphernalia out. So, look for the tutorial soon! Thanks for stopping :) -Dari
