The Lemon Zest dies (S4-1173) include leaf dies with a unique feature. In this set you’ll find a 5-leaf cluster but also 5 extra half-leaf dies to add a highlight or shadow to the leaves. Simply die cut the half leaves using an alternate shade of cardstock and layer onto the leaf cluster to bring your leaves to life. To add extra dimension and personality, Kim adds some simple inking to the leaves and lemons. In today’s video, you’ll see Kim work on a Stencil Mat from Waffle Flower Crafts. This multi-function silicone craft mat features raised edges on two sides to hold cardstock and a stencil in the place. It’s also the perfect surface for Kim to blend Distress Inks onto her lemons and leaves. She uses Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn to deepen the colors and add shading. The die set comes with additional stems, and blossoms to create fresh citrus bouquets and clusters. She attached the striped panel onto a blue card base for a fresh and pretty springtime card. The only thing missing is a sentiment, so Kim uses the Many Birthdays stamp and die cutting set (coming soon!). This new set contains large script words Happy Birthday with coordinating dies, plus other birthday sentiment stamps to combine or use on their own. This is definitely a powerhouse set that you’ll use again and again. Kim adds the stamped sentiment to a die cut circle and then finishes off the card with die cut blossoms and Color Essential Gems. *This post contains affiliate links to Simon Says Stamp There are so many great dies in the Simon Says Stamp Dream Big release. This Lemon Zest set is another of my favorites that I couldn't wait to work with. I wanted my lemons to be on the graphic side of things, so I went with two yellows with a fair amount of contrast. I used the lighter for the lemon body and the dark for the highlights. For those little lemon 'freckles' I applied adhesive all over a small piece of printer paper, adhered it to the back of the lemon, and then inlaid the little bits. Two pretty different shades of green added to the contrast as did the ivory flowers with the yellow centers. I played around a bit with the different die cut pieces to get the arrangement right, and then I added some dimension by popping some pieces up with foam adhesive while adhering others directly to my cardstock mat. The sentiment is from the Reverse Chill Summer sentiment strips. That's all for me. Hope that you are staying cool where you are! After a week of high 90s, we're in the low 80s today and it feels great!

Hello and Welcome! Today's card features Lawn Fawn's Zesty Lemon die set. This was a die set I bought when it came out and have never used it, so I thought it's time to use it. For this card, I started with an A2 sized card base from smooth white heavy weight cardstock. I die cut a background piece using MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX largest die. I used Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass to create the blue background. I sprayed water on to the ink and dabbed it with a Kleenex to create some extra detail. Once it was dried, I used double sided adhesive to add it to my card. I die cut the lemon from a bright yellow cardstock and added Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade around the edges. I used a lighter yellow cardstock for the back of the lemons. For the lemon slices, I added light yellow cardstock for the inside, then added details with Copic markers. I die cut the leaves from a light green cardstock and added details with Copic markers. I die cut the basket using Lawn Fawn's Fruit Basket from smooth white cardstock and added some shadow using Copic markers. I used Lawn Fawn's Oliver's Stitched ABC's and cut out the word "Zest" then added some Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade to the bottom of the letters. I stamped the "You are the" sentiment from MFT More Essential Sentiments using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder. Once I had everything glued down where I wanted it. I added some Glossy Accents to the lemons to make it look like water drops and I added some to the lemon slice to make it look juicy. Then I added glitter gel to the word Zest. This is such a pretty die set. I just love how the lemons came out. Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Hi there! The Lawn Fawn inspiration week continues with a look at a new die and patterned paper collection. The first card I have to share uses the new Zesty Lemon dies. These are so cute and perfect for summer! I started with a piece of ballet slipper cardstock cut with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle die and lightly ink blended with pink ink around the edges. Then, I die cut a bunch of lemons from Sticky Note cardstock and ink blended along the edges and middle with Sunflower ink. I added leaves around the lemons and added white accents with a gel pen. For the sentiment, I used sparkle cardstock cut with Finley's ABCs for the "zest" and I combined stamps from Plane and Simple for the "you're simply the" part of the sentiment. I have a second card to share that uses the new All The Dots paper. You guessed it - the paper has all the dots! I wanted to create a fun background with the patterned paper, so I cut the paper into stripes and glued them to a white card base. Since the background is busy, I wanted a big, bold sentiment to stand out against the business. So, I used the new Giant Hooray sentiment, cut from black cardstock and Pixie Dust sparkle cardstock. I finished the card by adding a few clear sequins around the sentiment, too. I hope you have enjoyed the look at the new goodies so far.
