The Lemon Zest dies (S4-1173) include leaf dies with a unique feature. In this set you’ll find a 5-leaf cluster but also 5 extra half-leaf dies to add a highlight or shadow to the leaves. Simply die cut the half leaves using an alternate shade of cardstock and layer onto the leaf cluster to bring your leaves to life. To add extra dimension and personality, Kim adds some simple inking to the leaves and lemons. In today’s video, you’ll see Kim work on a Stencil Mat from Waffle Flower Crafts. This multi-function silicone craft mat features raised edges on two sides to hold cardstock and a stencil in the place. It’s also the perfect surface for Kim to blend Distress Inks onto her lemons and leaves. She uses Mustard Seed and Mowed Lawn to deepen the colors and add shading. Watch today’s video to see Kim’s trick to make the lemon’s white highlights pop. You can also see how she uses the slot at end of the lemon to attach it to the stem. The die set comes with additional stems, and blossoms to create fresh citrus bouquets and clusters. She attached the striped panel onto a blue card base for a fresh and pretty springtime card. The only thing missing is a sentiment, so Kim uses the Many Birthdays stamp and die cutting set (coming soon!). This new set contains large script words Happy Birthday with coordinating dies, plus other birthday sentiment stamps to combine or use on their own. This is definitely a powerhouse set that you’ll use again and again. Kim adds the stamped sentiment to a die cut circle and then finishes off the card with die cut blossoms and Color Essential Gems. Hello once again! I had some more fun watercoloring die cuts and wanted to share my creation! The lemons here are Spellbinders "Lemon Zest Etched Dies." Are they not simply delicious looking?!? Ready to squeeze for some summertime refreshment! I began by watercoloring a panel of watercolor paper using Daniel Smith Watercolors. After the panel dried, I ran the Lemon Zest dies and colored panel through the die cutting machine. So simple! The background texture is from Tim Holtz/Sizzix 3D Texturefade "Woven" embossing folder (available at Stamp Simply); embossed on watercolor paper. The fresh sentiment is from Stamp Simply's "Fruit Sentiments" from their "Fruit of the Spirit" series. It is stamped with Versafine Claire Acorn ink, and die cut with a older tag die. Hello crafty friends! It’s Jean here sharing three cards created with the Be Bold Collection at Spellbinders. This distinctive collection of and floral and foliage dies, lower- and uppercase alphabet sets, punctuation dies, embossing folders, and casual script sentiments lends itself to endless creative possibilities. I took an organic approach to designing my creations like assembling a floral bouquet. Let’s take a look as I share the cards from start to finish. To begin, I selected three dark cardstock backgrounds. I started die-cutting the letters, sentiments, florals, and foliage from a variety of cardstock colors. Usually, I decide my colors ahead of time, rather than take this more playful approach. After placing the die-cut pieces on the dark-colored backgrounds, I eliminated colors that did not work. I die cut the Lemon Zest and Be Bold Blooms elements from the chosen colors. At this point, I didn’t know how many I would use, instead, I focused on creating more than enough so that I could play with the elements. Using the analogy of assembling a floral bouquet, I built an inventory of flowers and foliage. With a variety of flowers and foliage on the backgrounds, I decided which items would be in which colors. I began building paper bouquets, without adhering anything. Like a floral bouquet, I used the largest shapes as the focal and supporting flowers, foliage pieces for structure, and the airy accents as delicate details. With the bouquets and lemon plant pieces loosely in place, I used masks, A2– and Mini Slimline-sized, to determine what card base size I would use. After determining the card base sizes, I adhered the elements to the bases. For the card showcasing the Lemon Zest set, I adhered the large leaf element and Smooth Lines “Congrats” first and built from there. For the Mini Slimline card with the tongue-in-cheek “How Old?” sentiment, cut with the Uppercase, Lowercase, and Punctuation sets, I adhered the sentiment to the center and built the clusters of flowers above and below. For the card with the Smooth Lines “Thank You” sentiment, I constructed the upper-left and lower-right floral clusters, adhered the sentiment at an angle, and filled in with smaller florals. Note: I used the circle from the Be Bold Punctuation & More set (the exclamation and question mark dots) for a few of the flower centers. While my cards did not use the collection’s embossing folders, doing so would “step up” the designs. Thanks so much for dropping by today. Just a quick post for the new Simon Says Stamp Dream Big release day! I made this simple but elegant lemon card using some of the new products from the new release. To see the entire new release just click here! I made this card using smooth white card stock for an A2 size card base. I also used the same white cardstock to make a panel to run through my die cut machine using the new embossing folder for a very textured background. I then die cut the lemon, leaves, stem and flower from the new lemon zest die set and colored them with ink with a blender brush. I adhered them with some foam squares. I stamped the sentiment on a tag banner. I then ink blended another tag banner and layered it underneath the sentiment. I then tied them both together on the top left side of the card and added some glitter to the sentiment and flowers to add some sparkle. I wanted to show you the products from the new release I used here: I hope you enjoyed the card I made today. Hello Stampers! Happy Tuesday! Today, I want to share with you one of my favorite stamps sets.....the Lemon Zest Stamp Set! I love this set because I love lemons! Love their taste, their smell, and how they remind me of my dad. I’m sad that this set will be retiring June 3, 2019. I started with Pineapple Punch cardstock for the card base. Then, I used Pineapple Punch In Color DSP (which will be retiring soon) for the first layer. Before adhering the DSP to the card front I wrapped a piece of Granny Apple Green Texture Weave Ribbon and Whisper White Baker’s Twine. On scraps of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the lemons and leaves and punched them out with the Lemon Builder Punch. I adhered the leaves using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and adhered the Lemons with Stampin’ Up Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black. To finish the card I added some Granny Apple Green Enamel Dots. Today’s card was very easy to create. I was inspired by the sketch provided by CASE-ing Tuesday. Hi crafty friends, my name is Joy Baldwin (aka Create It With Joy). I love making handmade cards and sharing them with you. If you want to check out more of my creations, head over to my blog. I’m excited to share three beautiful cards with you today, using the Be Bold Collection. I was so excited to use these dies, the Alphabet dies come in upper and lower case and is a perfect size and font. The flowers and lemons are gorgeous and I am happy to share my projects with you today. The first card is my favorite, it is a slimline design and the lemons are so fantastic. I die cut the lemons from Sorbet Yellow cardstock and did a little bit of inking with Sunbeam ink to add so detail and interest to the lemons. I also added a yellow Copic marker for some more detail. I die cut the leaves from Fairway and Green Apple cardstock and did a little inking with Sprout and Field ink. The flowers are die cut from Bright White cardstock and the sentiment is Gold Mirror cardstock. The second card was a lot of die-cutting but, well worth it. These flowers are stunning. I used the same yellow and greens as above and then added Lagoon and Sapphire. The stems are Chocolate cardstock. Some of the flowers have foam tape adhesive to give them some dimension. I finished with the sentiment cut from Gold Mirror cardstock. The last card is so simple and fun. I thought it would be a great “guy” card. I die cut the “Happy Birthday” sentiments from the blues and yellow cardstock and just lined them up in rows and then added a gold embossed sentiment with foam tape for dimension. I have made a card with the pretty new Simon Says Stamp Lemon Zest die set, from Simon's newest Dream Big release!... The card was made by die cutting the lemon from yellow cardstock and layering. I simply used a yellow marker to give the lemon some added shading on the far side. I also scored the leaves to give them some definition. I used the lemon die piece to emboss the card panel, after stamping a CZ Design sentiment that I thought went perfectly with the pretty lemon. Here's a close up...
