Hello friends! Can you believe it's almost September! I'm still making summer cards. Lol! When I first saw Simple Stories Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection, I knew I needed it. If you’ve ever wished you could capture sunshine on paper look no further! The Simple Stories Lemon Twist is just about as bright and cheery as it gets! You’ll love the bright lemon and aqua blue color combination, pretty gingham and plaid prints as well as the country fresh images of florals and of course.. juicy lemons! My cards always start with the chipboard and printed die cut bits and pieces arranged on pieces of plastic the size of my card front. I can mix and match until my heart is content before adhering the pieces in place. The clear plastic also makes it easy to slide pattern paper underneath and decide what prints I like best. I like stacking pieces on the 3x4 journaling cards. The finishing touches are washi, decorative brads and the little hearts you’ll find in the chipboard, and bits and pieces packs. This collection also has a coordinating Basics pack that helps you break up your patterns with some solids. I like to use the solid cardstock paper for clean line matts behind the pattern paper. You'll find lots of sentiments in this collection to help complete your cards and convey your well wishes. You’ll find sentiments in the bits and pieces, chipboard, stickers and even on some of the brads! I really like the dramatic banners in black! I’ll be sending these cards to spread a little sunshine and smiles, and to remind friends and family to “Squeeze the Day” and enjoy the “sweet” moments. The Lemon Twist vintage images and bright cheery colors are sure to send smiles or make new ones as you flip through journals made with this sweet collection. Hi crafty friends. It’s Kristine and I’m here today to share my first project of 2022. For this post, I will be using the Simple Stories Lemon Twist card kit. The kit comes fully loaded with everything you will need to make 8 card fronts. It includes the card bases, pre-cut background papers and die cut, as well as chipboard pieces. Also, there are instructions with pictures to assemble each card front. Lemon Twist Cards in the Card Kit I have not used a card kit before so I was excited to try making these cards. Before assembling my cards, I punched out all of the pieces. Then, I sorted the pieces into separate piles for each card. It made assembling my cards a breeze! The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Besides the kit, all I needed was glue! Personally, I like all of the layering in these cards. And the nicest part is that there’s not a lot of bulk since the layers are paper and thin chipboard pieces. Adding a Personal Touch to Your Card Kit The Lemon Twist card kit is a great way to quickly decorate card fronts. However, there are no instructions for decorating the inside of the cards. While this is nice because it allows the maker to use the cards for almost any occasion, I want my cards to be finished inside. So, I decided to use some of the extra pieces from the card kit, as well as stickers, Washi tape, and stencils from the Lemon Twist collection, to add some decoration. First, I will use Washi tape and the stencil from the collection and Coastal Surf colored Nuvo mousse to add lemons to the inside of some cards as a border. To give it variety, I will make both horizontal and vertical borders. Next, I will use stickers from the Lemon Twist sticker book. I like this booklet because it has some of the same images as the fronts of the cards. It also has letters to spell out sentiments in the cards. The best part is that the stickers match the card fronts perfectly! For my decorations, I will add stickers in layers so that it has a similar look as the front of my cards. But I will try to use smaller stickers so there is room for a sentiment and message to the recipient. ‹ › I hope you have enjoyed seeing how you can take a pre-cut card kit and add some personal touches. Head over to the FotoBella online store to grab your Lemon Twist card kit and other supplies today! Happy crafting! ~Kristine, FotoBella Design Team Member

Hello cardmaking friends! Anya's here today with some card inspiration for a very popular Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection! I am absolutely loving this gorgeous line and still have big plans for it, but today I would like to share a set of cards I created using the stunning yellow/teal color combination. For the base of each card I used both 12x12” and 6x8” paper and concentrated on using ephemera to decorate each card. I love the variety die cut pieces provide, and sometimes you just have to play with different options until one of the designs creates itself by falling with the right pieces. Other times, I do have a specific plan to use a few pieces to create a floral bouquet or a fun cluster. For this specific card, I used four quadrants as the base of the card, in order to use more patterns on the card. I added a thing white border to each rectangle and adhered them to the card base with pop dots. It created a fun background for the focal point of the card right in the center. There are endless options you can make using these beautiful flowers, lemons and butterflies! Here are a couple more options I came up with while playing with these decorative pieces... Thank you for stopping by here at Simple Stories blog! Hope you were inspired by these cards today and will come back again soon for more inspiration!

How blooming gorgeous is the new Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection?! Oh my goodness! I’m in love! I chose the Teal 6x8 Sn@p! Binder to decorate in the Lemon Twist, it goes perfectly together. I covered the front of the binder with a sheet from the 12x12 collection kit, and then used a chipboard frame with one of the 4x6 elements in the centre. Around the edge I layered up lots of the butterfly pieces, self adhesive brads and a large floral chipboard piece. I always enjoy decorating the chipboard dividers which come included with the Sn@p! Binders. I covered each divider with a designer sheet, from the 6x8 paper pad, and then placed a chipboard frame on each…again I used lots of other elements to add layers and interest. Here I’ve used sheets from the 6x8 paper pad to create full pages, I decorated them with cut a part elements from the 12x12 collection kit. I also made some 6x4 pocket pages, I used stickers & bits and pieces layered up at the edge of a journaling card and a photo mat. I highly recommend the Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using it for this project, and know I’ll be bringing it out for many more projects in the future.
