Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, The Lighthouse 1913. Unfortunately it is not possible to get exactly the same viewpoint on Google Street View as the one in this postcard. The photographer, William Applebee of Ashford, Middlesex, visited Sussex in 1913 accompanied by his wife and took some photographs of Sussex views including Worthing, Littlehampton, Shoreham and surrounding areas. Shoreham-by-Sea sits on the West Susses coast and is bordered by the South Downs and the Adur Vally. The River Adur runs past on its way to the English Channel. The gorgeous linen yarn in the tee pictured, I bought when visiting Sally in Shoreham-by-Sea some years ago. What better to use it for than a simple top-down tee with a circular yoke construction? The top is completely seamless, with subtle star stitch patterning in the yoke, and neat twisted rib edgings. Worked in a 100% linen yarn, this top is a dream to wear in warm weather. It also works great as a layering piece! Instructions for 11 sizes are included, with finished bust measurements ranging from 81 to 152 cm (32 to 59.75 inches). Difficulty level Stitches used include knit, purl, knit tbl, k2tog, skp, yo, k3tog, m1l and m1r. This pattern is suitable for the intermediate knitter.
