Hello! Happy Wednesday! I must say we've been having a good week so far! We've had some beautiful but super hot weather. Okay, not Texas hot but Canada hot! We have been enjoying the pool a lot this week but even the pool is really warm and we're having trouble getting it to cool off! First world problems! I must apologize for the lack of post last week. My laptop died on me. Just up and died. By the time Apple was finally able to revive it, it was too late to post. Thankfully it seems to be working fine now! We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week. I happen to be fortunate enough to be the hostess. I get very nervous when I'm the hostess! I'm also afraid people won't like my sketch! I do love simple sketches and ones with lots of open background! I kept this one extra simple! Of course I love butterflies and a good black and white card is right up my alley so once combined I'm really happy! It's time for another Just Add Ink challenge and this week we've a sketch for you to play with. Curiosity killed the cat, they say, so the very curious felines I've used on my card are in grave danger! I cut two of each of the cat dies and layered them, then added googly eyes to make them even more curious and adorable. The hexagons were cut from scraps I had on hand which were made with inks and mica stains and they have a lovely sheen. The plaid die and clear enamel dots give the white background interest without drawing attention away from the focal point. Did you notice how the tails look like question marks? 😂😂😂 Love that! We have a lovely color combination today from Create with Connie and Mary for Color Challenge CCMC356: Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky and Silver or Smoky Slate. I used a Blackberry Bliss card base with bottom front corners rounded and heat embossed the sentiment with Silver Embossing Powder. Next, with Dimensionals I added a layer of Soft Sky that has been embossed with the Spring Flowers embossing folder. Over that is layered a 4" x 1" strip of a Blackberry Bliss print paper. A diecut Butterfly and three small punched flowers, all from Brushed Silver Cardstock and embellished with Basic Pearls, complete the card.
