We are all showcasing projects made with a combination of products from the Annual Catalogue and the new mini catalogue. For my card I have used the Pierced Blooms dies from the Annual and the Amazing Thanks dies from the mini. My card is inspired by one made by Leonie Stuart, an Australian demo. I loved her card and just had to CASE it. I highlighted the black "thanks" die cut with Shimmery Crystal Effects to make it shiny and a little bit shimmery! I hope you like my card. There are so many more amazing projects for you to see on our hop. Just click on the blue box and keep clicking on all the thumbnails. So much inspiration from some very talented demos. One of my favorite Sale-a-Bration freebies is the Paper Blooms 12x12 Designer Paper. The colors are fresh and the images are bold. Plus the floral designs coordinate so nicely with the In Bloom Bundle
Hi everyone, I am playing along this week with the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. The challenge is to follow the sketch below while keeping the project clean-lined and fresh. I decided to use a black and white theme with a touch of colour in the Cork Specialty Paper. The flowers were created using the Pierced Blooms Dies, with the sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set which I white heat embossed and die cut with the matching Floral Gallery Dies. The Cork Specialty Paper was cut using the Layering Circle Dies. I embossed the Whisper White piece on the Basic Black mat with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. The Designer Series Paper is from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper Pack. Hope you enjoy this project. Thank you for visiting. What a delightful find in the Pierced Blooms Dies, well the In Bloom Bundle in general! Did you catch this in the new January-June Mini Catalog? I totally missed it. Not only is it awesome when paired with the Paper Blooms DSP in the SAB catalog, but it stands alone so beautifully as well! This card was CASED from one of my favorite demos from Australia, Gail Ellis. I did add my own touch with the Soft Seafoam leaves and Pearl accents! B e sure to give this bundle a look-see! Enjoy! Measurements: Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet Basic White: 3 1/4" x 4 1/2", scraps Love You Always Specialty DSP (N): 2" x 5 3/8" Pool Party: 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" Purple Posey: 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" Soft Seafoam: scraps To Make This Card Fold Basic White card in half. Attach Foil DSP to left side of card front. Cut out scalloped rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly dies. Set aside. Cut 3 Pierced Blooms in 3 sizes from Pool Party cardstock, 2 flowers from Purple Posey, a variety of Basic White "centers", and 2 "leaves" from Soft Seafoam, one from each direction, and a couple other ones as well. Shape the flowers and leaves a little with your fingers or a bone folder. Lay them out around the scalloped rectangle. Stamp sentiment in Sahara Sand, in "free space". Attach rectangle to front of card with Dimensionals. Now, go back and attach your flowers where desired. I attached the flowers first, and then leaves later. Attach strip of Basic White to Adhesive Foam sheet. Cut out "friend". Adhere to card above sentiment. Finish with Basic Pearls as shown. Hello Crafty Friends! This week I'm showing you a little project that I worked on to give away as a keep-sake for a co-worker that will be leaving our team. The Pierced Bloom Dies are one of those sets of dies that can be used all by themselves without any stamping necessary and that is exactly what I did for the 3"x3" cards for this project. It may be hard to tell from the image above that all of the die cuts have a pierced outline. When the 2021 Mini Catalog came out I completely missed this and was shocked when I saw samples of these dies being used. Even though a lot of the Mini catalog products are retiring, thankfully, the Pierced Blooms dies and the coordinating In Bloom stamp set is in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, so you can get this set if you haven't done so already. I paired some of the new In-Colors with the Gilded Leafing to make a set of 20- 3"x3" cards. These are then stored in the Scalloped Kraft Treat Box as shown below. Cardmaking Tips: Use Basic White Thick cardstock for the card bases. The finished size is 3"x3", which is a 3" x 6" piece of cardstock scored at 3". Cut a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" piece of Basic white cardstock and adhere two strips of Tear and Tape Adhesive then place some gold Gilded Leafing using a dry paint brush. As you can see in the image below, it's a little messy but the leafing sticks very well with no problems. I find this process satisfying, LOL. Cut out different pieces of leaves from the Pierced Blooms Dies using Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. Cut out pieces of flowers from Pale Papaya and Fresh Freesia cardstock. Arrange and adhere the flowers and leaves onto the Basic White piece of cardstock. Adhere onto the Basic white card base using dimensionals. A few close-up samples below. The box came together rather quickly using the Scalloped Kraft Treat Boxes, a few flowers, leaves, a white stitched circle and some white twine. The sentiment "Especially for you" is from the Little Treats retired stamp set from the 2020 Holiday catalog. I created the name "Lani" using the retired Make a Difference stamp set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Both sentiments were gold embossed. Products List: Click on the following link for a full list of the products I used on this project: https://s.tamp.in/pF1AeS Please note the following products are retired and not in the product list: Stamps - Little Treats, Make a Difference Dies - Stitched Shapes This is all I have for you this week. Let me know if you've played with the Pierced Blooms dies for your projects! I'd love to know what you think about them. Until next time...

Hello & welcome. Today I'm sharing a new to me 3d fancy fold card that makes me very happy and hope that it makes the recipient smile too. This is my Design Team project for this week's Just Add Ink challenge - Just Add a Frame. I haven't made many 3d & fancy fold cards lately but when I spotted the lovely Patty Bennett's Pinwheel Tower cards & tutorial, I knew it would be perfect to send to a dear friend who also loves a fancy fold. It's surprisingly easy to make, especially thanks to Patty's tips. I adapted the size of my card to work better with A4 card & metric measurements. It's approx 21cm x 14.5cm folded flat. I've used lots of my current & new fave stamps and dies to make it, including the Biggest Wish stamp set, Stitched Greenery die and Pierced Blooms dies. If you've seen my recent cards, you'll have spotted some too. This is a super photo heavy post so let's get started with a look at the finished card. The brilliant thing about pinwheel cards is you have 8 sections to decorate. This is the front of the card when open. The colours are Coastal Cabana, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White, and gold. The stamped sentiments are Soft Sea Foam and Night of Navy. See & shop the full list of supplies here in my SU store. I considered this opening view as the front. The card is quite thick when flat so this is the only section where I've popped up and layered elements. The front set the scene to carry themes through the card. Here are sections 2, 3, & 4. Each has it's own look while maintaining continuity of elements across the whole. Read on below for more info about each section. Here's a more upright view so you can why it's called a pinwheel card (or it could be a windmill card too). Amazingly, only 4 pieces make up the basic card. A long piece that's scored to make the square centre and 1 vane of the pinwheel, and 3 rectangle pieces that attach to the centre to make the remaining 3 vanes. Patty shows this very well in her video. Card Design Breakdown As I mentioned above, the card folds flat for posting. This version is approx 21cm x 14.5cm flat and fits a C5 envelope (normally used for half A4 sheets). Here's how each side looks flat and some notes about the design. Section 1 - Front This is how the recipient will see the card when it comes out of the envelope. Note that you can see the whole of the smaller left panel plus part of the next page, so bear that in mind when you're choosing colours & elements for your version. These are the main elements used on the front and throughout the card: Raised frame using the Stitched Greenery die & Stitched Rectangle dies. 'Thanks friend' sentiment from my most used current stamp set, Biggest Wish, teamed with the largest Tailor Made Tags die. If Biggest Wish is not on your shopping list yet, you must add it now as it's so fun & flexible for so many people & occasions. (See all my other Biggest Wish cards here if you need more convincing). Die cut flowers cut from the Pierced Blooms die set. I love, love, love these dies. There are so many shapes included for you to mix and match. Gold foil frame & leaf elements from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack. I love how they delicately contrast with the bold flowers. Section 2: I used 2 paper prints from the Brights Collection stack (Coastal Cabana & Melon Mambo) here, plus a sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set combined with the large 'friend' image from Biggest Wish. Section 3: I included another stitched frame and gold foil hexagon frame & leaf elements from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack and another sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set. Section 4: The final section includes another stitched frame, blank this time for a personal message. So that's my frame challenge project. Check out all our Design Team Projects on the Just Add Ink blog and play along with the challenge too. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my first Pinwheel Tower card and are inspired to make your own. Please leave me a comment if you do like it, and if you'd like more information about how I made my version. See and shop all the supplies I've used here on my Stampin' Up Store. I have some more Pierced Blooms cards to share with you soon so keep an eye out for those.
