Today's the last day of the Stampin' Up! Seasonal Sale! You'll save on ink pads, cardstock and dies!
Hello & welcome. Today I have a happy little thank you card to share with you for Just Add Ink challenge 570 Design Team. This week is a colour challenge suggested by me, including two of my favourite Stampin' Up! and real life colours - Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana plus white. I've again used my beloved Stitched Greenery die and Pierced Blooms dies. Take a look at the finished card. The colours look so crisp together and the stitching & piercing on the dies adds lots of detail. The flowers and tag (stamped with a sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set or bundle) are mostly popped up on Dimensionals to give more... dimension. :) Do you see the little sparkly circles? They're from the Elegant Faceted Gems pack. I love this pack as it has 2 types of white, sparkly gems (that can be easily coloured with Stampin Blends too) plus a lovely petal pink gem too. Check them out on the list of supplies here. I added a touch of Wink of Stella to the white petals & centres too. Inside is a simple planel with a couple more flowers. So that's my colour challenge card. Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see all our team projects, then try this colour combo yourself. Did you know? you can find all the supplies I used for this project and all my recent projects on my Stampin' Up! Website & Store? Simply click on 'My Projects' and you'll see pics of each project. Click on the project you want to see and you'll be shown a list of all the items used - see pic below. Click on what you need and you'll be taken to my store to purchase and add anything else you want. Easy! Thanks for visiting today, I hope you liked my project. If you do, I'd love a comment or a Pinterest pin as it's lovely to hear from visitors and know you're enjoying what you see. Especially as we're almost in week 10 of lockdown here in Sydney and feeling a bit lonely and crazy. I hope wherever you are that you're safe and well. Until next time. I love Wednesday evenings!! Why? Because, I get to create live on Facebook with my friends!! Last night I created these projects on my Facebook Group Page, Stampin' Gala Stampers Group. If you missed the live presentation, you can watch the replay here. This bundle has great sentiments and 25 dies. It is so fun to play with!! I always create two cards and one 3D item. Here is the first card. I layered the Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy pieces on a piece of Basic White. I then embossed the three together with
This week's Colour Creations blog hop is focussing on Shaded Spruce, a bright, bold green in Stampin' Up!'s Regals colour family. My favourite Pierced Blooms Dies are retiring when our current Annual Catalogue finishes at the beginning of May. I LOVE these dies, and feel pretty sad about them leaving Stampin' Up!'s range. A little bouquet of flowers forms the focal point of my card, against a Stitched Greenery background. Because of the intensity of this green, I have used lots of white and black in my card design. A few pops of Bumblebee help to lighten it a little. Here's a close-up of some of the gorgeous detail provided by the Stitched Greenery Die, and the Pierced Blooms Dies: I used a Scalloped Contours Die to cut a gingham panel, from Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon was used to make the little bow. The only stamping on my card is the sentiment, from Many Happenings. I used Shaded Spruce ink to stamp it on Basic White card, and the Messages Die to cut it out. Mini Stampin' Dimensionals raise the sentiment above the flower stems, and a couple of Holiday Rhinestones add a finishing touch: Next up on tonight's blog hop is Andrea Sargent. If you click on the button below, you will be taken to her blog. If you come across any broken links, or would like to see a comprehensive list of everyone taking part in the blog hop, head over to Catherine Proctor's blog. Cathy does a great job every week of co-ordinating our Colour Creations shares. Listed below are all the products I used to make my card. Hello & welcome. Today I'm sharing a new to me 3d fancy fold card that makes me very happy and hope that it makes the recipient smile too. This is my Design Team project for this week's Just Add Ink challenge - Just Add a Frame. I haven't made many 3d & fancy fold cards lately but when I spotted the lovely Patty Bennett's Pinwheel Tower cards & tutorial, I knew it would be perfect to send to a dear friend who also loves a fancy fold. It's surprisingly easy to make, especially thanks to Patty's tips. I adapted the size of my card to work better with A4 card & metric measurements. It's approx 21cm x 14.5cm folded flat. I've used lots of my current & new fave stamps and dies to make it, including the Biggest Wish stamp set, Stitched Greenery die and Pierced Blooms dies. If you've seen my recent cards, you'll have spotted some too. This is a super photo heavy post so let's get started with a look at the finished card. The brilliant thing about pinwheel cards is you have 8 sections to decorate. This is the front of the card when open. The colours are Coastal Cabana, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Basic White, and gold. The stamped sentiments are Soft Sea Foam and Night of Navy. See & shop the full list of supplies here in my SU store. I considered this opening view as the front. The card is quite thick when flat so this is the only section where I've popped up and layered elements. The front set the scene to carry themes through the card. Here are sections 2, 3, & 4. Each has it's own look while maintaining continuity of elements across the whole. Read on below for more info about each section. Here's a more upright view so you can why it's called a pinwheel card (or it could be a windmill card too). Amazingly, only 4 pieces make up the basic card. A long piece that's scored to make the square centre and 1 vane of the pinwheel, and 3 rectangle pieces that attach to the centre to make the remaining 3 vanes. Patty shows this very well in her video. Card Design Breakdown As I mentioned above, the card folds flat for posting. This version is approx 21cm x 14.5cm flat and fits a C5 envelope (normally used for half A4 sheets). Here's how each side looks flat and some notes about the design. Section 1 - Front This is how the recipient will see the card when it comes out of the envelope. Note that you can see the whole of the smaller left panel plus part of the next page, so bear that in mind when you're choosing colours & elements for your version. These are the main elements used on the front and throughout the card: Raised frame using the Stitched Greenery die & Stitched Rectangle dies. 'Thanks friend' sentiment from my most used current stamp set, Biggest Wish, teamed with the largest Tailor Made Tags die. If Biggest Wish is not on your shopping list yet, you must add it now as it's so fun & flexible for so many people & occasions. (See all my other Biggest Wish cards here if you need more convincing). Die cut flowers cut from the Pierced Blooms die set. I love, love, love these dies. There are so many shapes included for you to mix and match. Gold foil frame & leaf elements from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack. I love how they delicately contrast with the bold flowers. Section 2: I used 2 paper prints from the Brights Collection stack (Coastal Cabana & Melon Mambo) here, plus a sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set combined with the large 'friend' image from Biggest Wish. Section 3: I included another stitched frame and gold foil hexagon frame & leaf elements from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack and another sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set. Section 4: The final section includes another stitched frame, blank this time for a personal message. So that's my frame challenge project. Check out all our Design Team Projects on the Just Add Ink blog and play along with the challenge too. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my first Pinwheel Tower card and are inspired to make your own. Please leave me a comment if you do like it, and if you'd like more information about how I made my version. See and shop all the supplies I've used here on my Stampin' Up Store. Hello, Crafters. When I made my prototype card for Sunday’s video, I decided not to finish it off because I’d learned enough to make the Santa Christmas card I had in mind!
