Here is MFT Stamps Sketch Challenge 705, below is the challenge photo: And here is the card I made to attend this challenge: I stamped the MFT City Block background stamp on a piece of white cardstock, then I used circle die to cut three circles. I colored the image with alcohol markers and attach them on a piece of dark green background. I white embossed "a million thanks" (from MFT's Essential Sentiments stamps set) on a green cardstock. I cut out the sentiment stripe and attached on the card with foam tapes. Finish the card by attaching some star sequins. Below is another look of the card: Supplies: Cardstock: MFT Ink Pads: MFT, Versamark Stamps: MFT Die: MFT Others: white embossing powder, alcohol markers, foam tapes, star sequins Thank you for visiting my blog.
Hello there, I am delighted to be guest designing for the MFT Sketch Challenge this month. The June release is fantastic and I will be sharing cards using it for the sketch challenge every Wednesday. Today's card uses the new Fish You Were Here set. The sketch calls for three circles and I thought it would be fun to make them portholes looking through to the fish in the sea. I started off by die cutting my holes for the portholes. I took a panel of white cardstock and cut circles in to it using the MFT Circle Stax 1 and Circle Stax 2 Die-namics. I then needed to create the porthole frames. I used the same dies and cut the outside circle first and then cut the inside one to create a circle frame. I die cut the little circle pieces from the MFT Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics from more white cardstock and adhered these on to the frames for the porthole details. These were then added around the apertures on the panel with MFT On Point Precision Glue. I placed the panel over a white A2 card base and using a pencil, mapped out where the apertures will be. I took the fish from the MFT Fish You Were Here set and stamped them on to the card base with MFT Extreme Black Ink. I made masks for these and then blended Distress Inks around them to create the sea. I used Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire. I splattered the card with water, removed the masks and let sit to dry. Once dry, I coloured the fish with Copic markers (the colours that I used are listed below the supplies area). I then placed the aperture/porthole panel of top with foam tape. I took a sentiment from the Fish You Were Here set and stamped it on to MFT Black Licorice Cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. This was cut in to a strip using the MFT Skinny Strips Die-namics set and added to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added a few Clear Round Drops around the sentiment. Join us in extending a warm hello to Erica Andersson-Burke! Erica kept her card design very similar to the sketch and created a colorful stamped background to peek out from behind her main panel. The embossed detail behind her sentiment strip and focal image adds subtle detail and dimension while keeping the focus on her adorable stamped kitten. Keeway flipped the sketch upside down and created a fun polka dot, peek-a-boo background. The ombre inking behind her main panel adds a playful look to her design that coordinates nicely with her cute Halloween image. Donna decided to flip the sketch upside down as well and created a stunning rainbow backdrop with alcohol inks to complement her magical unicorn. The black and white sentiment strip adds contrast while the clear sequins add some detail and dimension. Congratulations, Karin G! Erica used the new Christmas Background stamp to create a gold embossed backdrop for her festive pup and added a coordinating sentiment with the same embossed detail. The striped patterned paper frames her scene and coordinates nicely with the colorful Christmas lights. Vika created a holiday card with a primarily pink color palette, and we love the non-traditional look it adds to her card. Her sweet puppy images have found a perfect resting spot in the die cut Happy Holidays Frame while the white card stock strip helps the scene stand out from the background. Keisha used the same pink text patterned paper as Vika but paired hers with the traditional reds and greens of Christmas. Large sequins add detail and dimension to her card, and a stamped sentiment on the white card stock panel completes the design. Congratulations, Amy Tsuruta! She is back today with one last June Sketch Challenge. Thanks so much for joining us, Emily! Dividing a card design up into multiple smaller panels is a great way to add visual interest while still creating a continuous scene. Emily created a beautiful monochromatic design using the layout of this weeks sketch with a fun assortment of products and a layered stamped sentiment. Melania created a colorful, underwater scene on her card using the Collage Cover-Up Die-namics as the backdrop for her aquatic friends. The fish in the Gill Friends stamp set are sized perfectly for the small stitched panels while the largest one provides enough space for her heat embossed sentiment. Amy used the same Collage Cover-Up as Melania but included the outer frame with dimensional adhesive in addition to the inner stitched panels. The sweet kittens in the Love You Furever stamp set are also an ideal size for the small panels on this design. Congratulations, Holly L! Say hello again to Vanessa Menhorn, our Guest Designer this month! Let's see how Vanessa interpreted this week's sketch: Instead of the tag you see in the sketch, Vanessa creates a pretty ombre effect on a rectangle and a small flag for the sentiment. The focus of her card is her stunning use of the Large Desert Bouquet stamp set and Die-namics in a lovely color combination! The My Favorite Things Creative Team has been busy getting creative! Let's see what they have up their sleeves for Sketch 267! Barbara Anders creates a brilliant design in yellow and black with the Watt's Up? stamp set and Lightbulb Die-namics. I love her use of the Concentric Circle Grid stencil to give the design a cool continual flow with the tag and background of the card. Inge Groot places her sentiment beneath the focal point, but the tag and strip from the sketch are all there. I love the adorable paper pieced dress she created on the little sweetie from the Feline Better stamp set. Inge uses such fun color combinations! Kay Miller gathers a glorious bouquet of spring flowers using the Large Desert Bouquet stamp set and Die-namics. The addition of the white Leafy Greenery Die-namics and the intricate background stamping give this card such life and dimension. Simply breathtaking! Keisha Campbell keeps it simple with pink and red paired with muted neutrals. She switched the orientation of the sketch by shifting everything to the right. Her simple pops of color with the Heart STAX and Stitched Fancy Flourish are quite divine. Stephanie Klauck creates a cheeky card that follows the sketch quite closely. By using the Wild Prints Paper Pack, she makes a lot of impact in a jiffy with the help of the Stitched Traditional Tag STAX Die-namics. And that winking shamrock from the Lucky stamp set? SO cute! Yoonsun Hur's sketch interpretation is a work of art! I love how she created her background combining the Modern Blooms and Distressed Patterns stamp sets for an artistic feel. And the way that she interlaced the heart arrow inside the butterfly? Completely exquisite. Congratulations, Monika Reeck! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. Join us in extending a warm hello to Raluca Vezeteu! Raluca created a colorful fall scene inspired by the sketch layout, featuring the new Sending Blessings stamp set. We love the gorgeous colors represented in the sky - they're the perfect backdrop for her beautifully colored image. Barbara created a framed scene in the center of her card design complete with a cloudy sky, rolling hills, a couple of trees and one of the adorable new giraffe images from the Playful Giraffes stamp set. A stamped sentiment banner adds a bold greeting to her card while keeping her design similar to the sketch layout. Amy featured the Playful Giraffes on her card as well but decided to fill her frame with a trio of the delightful characters rather than one. Gorgeous ink blending adds a colorful landscape to the scene and a simple stamped sentiment completes her fun and playful design. Congratulations, Tina! She is back today with one last December Sketch Challenge. Thanks so much for joining us, Marieke! Marieke created a multi-colored background with a simple frame to mimic the sketch. Her colored birds and mushrooms complement her color palette perfectly with a stamped sentiment banner completing her adorable design. Joy used the sketch as inspiration for her underwater scene. She kept each of the window openings the same with a soft blue ink blended background, mimicking the look of ocean water. Colorful fish and greenery complete the look with a stamped sentiment for the greeting. Keeway used the sketch layout to design a grid of adorable kittens in various poses. The added black & white polka dot background adds great contrast and really keeps the focus in her stamped images. Congratulations, Gayle! She is back today with one last July Sketch Challenge. Thanks so much for joining us, Amy! Amy used the large circle element on the sketch as inspiration for the ink blended backdrop behind her adorable lion image. To add even more emphasis to the design, she created a circle with the Wonky Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics and cut out the center to make a frame. A bold sentiment strip, imitating the sketch, completes her design. Torico created a stunning background panel on her card with a bit of stamping, white heat embossing, and ink blending. She added a layered circle panel in the center with a die cut and stamped sentiment and added the finished panel to a white card base to really let the background shine. Vika added a Stitched Circle Scallop Edge Frame to her card front and adhered a stitched sentiment strip at an angle to anchor her stamped lion and greenery. To help keep the focus on her images, she opted to stamp her sentiment under the circle element on the bottom portion of her card. Congratulations, Jeanna! Hi everyone! Welcome to this week’s MFT Sketch Challenge ! Here is what I came up with: I used the Geometric Stars ...
Hello again! I'm popping in today to share a project that was inspired by this week's Wednesday Sketch Challenge! It's a lovely sketch, and lends itself perfectly to my favorite kind of design - clean and simple, with a little bit of graphic thrown in for good measure! Here's this week's sketch: And here's my interpretation of the sketch: I used the Gift Tag Die-Namics to create the dome-shaped aperture from a 4" x 5.25" Smooth White panel. I adhered some rainbow-order strips (colors listed below) that I created using the Straight-Up Rainbow Die-Namics onto the card base so that they aligned towards the left side of the aperture. I die cut the Scripty Smile Die-Namics, three times from Smooth White and once from Black Licorice card stock, and I adhered the layers together with a glue pen. I die cut some of the flowers, stems and leaves from Smooth White using the Stitched Garden Die-Namics. I've listed and linked all of the MFT products that I used below. Please click on through to the MFT Design Blog to be linked to the fabulous projects that my fellow teammates have created for this week's Sketch Challenge. And while you're there, why not link up your own take on this week's Sketch Challenge for a chance to win $50 MFT Bucks to be used at the MFT Online Boutique! It's a random draw, so everyone that plays has a chance to win! That'll do it for me today, folks! I'll be back very soon with more crafty stuff. Until then, thanks for stopping by and have a great day! MFT PRODUCTS USED:

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started. I immediately thought of BB You're Super Stamp Set and Die-namics when I saw this sketch! It's got everything I needed and I went right to town! I started with my background, sponging with Broken China, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot Distress Inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and then through Ray of Light Stencil. Once dry, I spattered some white craft paint for stars. Next I added a strip of Cement Gray card stock across the bottom of a Sweet Tooth card stock base with the sentiment and two of the stamped city scape images, popped up on foam. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers and popped up on foam to complete the scene. And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! Thanks for stopping by! See you soon! All products from My Favorite Things unless otherwise noted. Join me in welcoming back Emily Leiphart one last time as our Guest Designer this month! You can visit Emily's blog Art From The Heart for more inspiration. Let's see how she interpreted her last sketch with us: The panel of this sketch is made for all kinds of creative possibilities, and Emily took the opportunity to create a dreamy and colorful look with the Wavy Coloring Book Background stamp. The sentiment from the Kind Words stamp set paired with the Kind & Kindness Die-namics in a pretty sparkly silver make for a delightful design with the pretty kitty from the Cool Cat stamp set. The My Favorite Things Creative Team has been busy getting creative! Let's see what they have up their sleeves for Sketch 313! Torico created a pretty panel by masking with the Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics to complement the busy bees from the Fly-By Friends stamp set. I love how the Mini Chicken Wire stencil creates a beehive look, and the sentiment on red pops with its cheery sentiment. The pretty Roses in Bloom Die-namics take front and center stage on this simply lovely design from Jody. For this card, the panel is left pure white to feature the rose and a simple sentiment. Vika eliminates the rectangular panel, but the large flag from the sketch is left in tact to feature images from the Polar Bear Pals and Chill Wishes stamp sets. What a perfect design for a winter birthday card! Donna features a delicious drink created with the Cool Cup Die-namics in place of the rectangle, and her sentiment from the Stay Cool stamp set blends well with this delicious treat. The Chevron Grid stencil adds frosty interest to the card base. Instead of a rectangle, Anna frames her little scene featuring the Strike up the Band stamp set and New York Skyline Die-namics with the Stitched Oval Scallop Frames Die-namics for a different take on Sketch 313. What a delightful greeting! Like Emily, Julie features a sentiment from the Kind Words stamp set and a cool panel created with the Wavy Coloring Book Background stamp. What a fresh and pretty color combination for this striking design! Congratulations, Laurie Pickerel! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. Challenge and inspiration for card makers, stamping, and die cutting.
My card didn't turn out how I had planned, but after stamping the sentiment, the papers I had cut didn't fit. I pulled out some thin Washi Tape from the EyeletOutlet.com and used them around the sentiment. The Pure Innocence image was one that I had colored in a very long time ago. She was stamped on a piece of card stock with three others. I finally had a chance to use her on a card. The Pure Innocence line of stamps from MFTstamps.com are so cute. Here is this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #254: Supplies: card stock: white, black, Authentique pattern paper stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Cute-a-tude, Paper Smooches Happy Birthday ink: Versafine black, Memento Black, Asst. Copic Markers accessories: Scor-Pal, MFT Flower dies, EyeletOutlet Washi Tape and Enamel Dots and Foam Tape thanks for looking ~ have a great airborne day! God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started. I thought a bouquet of Flower Silhouette images would look good on this sketch so I proceeded with it :) First I stamped the images with Black Licorice dye ink and cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics. Next I prepped the background, dry embossing Sweet Tooth card stock with Inward Elements Stencil then spattering it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and black acrylic ink, then adhering it to a Kraft card stock base with foam tape. ' Next I cut Tall Tags Die-namics from Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and sponged it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and spattered with clean water, then popped it up on the card front with foam tape. The bundle of images was tied together with hemp cord, along with a Stitched Traditional Tag STAX Die-namics cut from Kraft card stock and stamped with a sentiment from Main Squeeze Stamp Set and adhered to the card front. And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! How fun is Lisa's snowy scene complete with a chilly landscape and a trio of snowboarders ready for some winter fun! The Snow Drifts Cover-Up Die-namics provides a great backdrop for all of her stamped images and the embossed sentiment nicely complements her scene. Barbara created a serene and peaceful winter landscape based on the sketch layout, by adding a stamped tree for each of the rectangle elements. A single die cut bird adds interest to the design and coordinates perfectly with the striped patterned paper giving her design a cohesive look. Debbie also used trees as her main design element and added a single night sky backdrop behind each one for a unique and unexpected look. Stitched snow hills add detail to her scene with the stamped sentiment layered over the top. Congratulations, Lindsey M-P! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. I love this sketch! The two square elements reminded me of Polaroids so that’s what I went with. I started by stamping the sloth image from BB Picture Perfect Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock and colored it with Copic markers. I wanted the background to show through so I fussy cut it out and adhered it with foam mounting tape to the back of a Polaroid Shaker Frame Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and on which I stamped the sentiment. I then adhered it directly to a Blue Breeze card stock element. Next I prepared the background by applying a watercolor wash to Ranger Watercolor paper and splattered it with first clear water and then black acrylic ink. I tied around some baker’s twine and popped it up on foam tape to a Sweet Tooth card stock base that had been covered with Black & White Dots paper pack for the finish. And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week! Thanks for stopping by! Challenge and inspiration for card makers, stamping, and die cutting.
Here's this week's MFT Wed Sketch Challenge #468. And here's my take on the sketch. I just couldn't resist using some Bitty Bears! The Christmas text background was stamped on Grout Gray card stock and topped with four bears, per the sketch. The stamped sentiment and a sprinkling of enamel dots finished off the card. Visit the MFT blog for all the details on how you could be the random winner of a $50 MFT gift voucher when you enter the challenge!
Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started. I had to ponder a bit before I decided to use hearts for those two round elements, but once I did my design came together. I used Stitched Heart STAX Die-namics to make a stencil, then sponged them with Wild Cherry dye ink. Next I stamped the hearts with Well-Connected Alphabet and Black Licorice dye ink and popped it up on the card base with foam mounting tape after adding some Black and White Basics Paper Pack, Wild Cherry card stock, and Brushed Cold card stock accents to the top and bottom of the base. I added LLD Stitched Alphabet Die-namics for the “&” and lots of little hearts cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics. The sentiment, from Essential Sentiments, was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, then popped up on foam tape. And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week! Now that is a win-win. Below you'll find Sketch 368. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher. MFT products are encouraged, but not required. We just want to see what this week’s sketch inspires you to create! We're welcoming Gemma back to the Challenge Blog today with her take on this week's sketch. Gemma used a stitched tag for the background panel on her card and created a gorgeous wreath of soft flowers to mimic the circle element from the sketch. We love the addition of the scoring lines on her white card base and the sentiment banner overlaying the complete design. Jane's card is definitely out of this world with an incredible depiction of the earth as her focal image. Her galaxy background creates amazing shadow and depth and makes it appear as though the astronaut is actually floating through space. Amy used the main panel from the sketch to create a brick wall on her design, and moved the focal element and sentiment to the bottom area of her card. The brown and green color palette make this a great option for masculine themed cards. Congratulations, Betsy L! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. I wasn't sure my blog would still be here! It's been a long time since I've posted! Today I'm sharing my entry for the weekly sketch challenge at My Favorite Things. The details for the challenge can be found here if you're interested in joining the fun! Here is the sketch... And here is my take on it... I used two My Favorite Things stamp/die-namic sets, Tiki Party and Polynesian Paradise, along with the Blueprints #16 die-namics and the Stitched Basic Edges 2 die-namics. The sunset background was blended with Tim Holtz Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Blueprint distress inks. The images were colored with copic markers. I had fun putting this card together and hope I can play along on a regular basis. Thanks for stopping by!
