Fla La La La Mingos Christmas Card by Samantha Mann for Get Cracking on Christmas, Paperie Ink, Distress Oxide Ink, Stencil, Tropical, Christmas, Card
One of my favorite things to do is give co-workers cards when they go above and beyond. So...last week I needed a trio of cards. The first two are for two guy co-workers who are finishing up a really big client project. They have been really focused on paying attention to the clients needs to make sure they have a great experience. Made them super CAS since they are for guys. The first one combines PaperSmooches and Verve stamps. And the bottom one is all Verve Stamps. This card went to a co-worker who is simply a gem....but she's moving to Florida so I needed a going away/thank you card for her. Used Verve stamps for the flowers and a retired Craft's Meow sentiment. And here's my question for today? Do you have a group of people where you regularly provide cards?
08.23.2023…..Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today, I was in the mood to create a “clean and simple” card, and I decided to give it a beach vibe as well. I used the Alphabet A La Mode …
With Mother's Day coming up and social distancing still in effect, it's the perfect time to create & send the gift of a handmade card set! Want to hear the story of how this set was made? Well I sat down with The Stamp Market's Sending Bunches Of Love stamp set and had so much fun creating, I ended up with a BUNCH of cards that coordinated. I hadn't actually intended to make a set of cards to give as a gift but it just worked out! Here are a few easy things I did that made these cards the perfect set... I used the same color palette on all my cards. I also used the same stamp as a focal point on each card even though the card design & techniques varied. I made some decorated envelopes by stamping the flowers on the flap of the envelopes. And I bundled the cards & envelopes together! Easy peasy! Here's a little bit more about each card... This card uses one of my very favorite stamping techniques, faux watercolor. You ink your stamp with water-reactive inks and then mist with clean water before stamping onto watercolor cardstock. While the ink was wet, I used a paint brush to spread the color. And after it was dry, I put it back into my MISTI where the stamp was waiting, and I stamped the image again in Navy ink over the Bubble Gum. These cards use the same faux watercolor technique but with more colors of ink. And only adding the Navy stamped-second layer on the second card. You can see more about the faux watercolor technique in this video. To create the easy color blocking on these cards, I used low-tack purple tape to mask off the top of each panel. I used blending brushes to create the color-blocked border and then I stamped the flowers and sentiments in Navy. This card is just a little ink smooshing with Citrine ink and then the flowers stamped on top in Navy. And finally this card couldn't be more simple! It's just the flowers stamped in Navy with a Tropic Teal watercolored sentiment strip. Check out The Stamp Market's latest stamps & dies HERE and if you can, don't forget to support small business!!! Here's this week's CAS(E) this Sketch #191, brought to you by Chrissy. And here's my take on it. I chose shapes and frames in "tropical" colors and layered them per the sketch, then stamped the flowers and leaves and the sentiment. I added color with Prismacolor pencils and finished off the card with Nuvo Crystal Drops. Visit CAS(E) this Sketch to see what the other designers came up with and join us if you can. Link up your card(s) by Thursday, September 29th and we hope to see you in the gallery! InLinkz.com
Happy Saturday guys. I hope you are enjoying this lovely weekend so far. I've been in the vegetable patch this morning and then spent a few hours cutting the grass and pruning the Mandarin tree. I love autumn days spent pottering in the garden. Anyway today I wanted to share a card that was an inspired CASE that I saw while cruising through Instagram late last night. The card I saw wasn't using any Stampin' Up! products, but I knew I could totally create the card with what I have in my craft room. I couldn't decided between using circles or squares so I did both!! This card was just so much fun and so super easy too. It looks fancy but all I've done is nest different size circles or squares on top of each other, chopped them in half and then flipped out the colours. Easy peasy but very stunning. These cards are very quick to make and are perfect for birthday cards for kids and teenagers. I know, I'll be making a few more to put into my card stash that's for sure! I have used some of our retired word dies (I never let those go) but these cards would work with any of our chunky dies. Hint, Hint: there might be a new set of word dies coming up in the new annual catty and I for one can't wait to add those to my collection! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow!!
