Oh my goodness....... where does the time go? I so totally forgot about this month's PTI Blog Hop, but wanted to participate anyway as there is always so much creative energy! The January challenge is to re-create an older favorite. I really love the Quatrefoil die and what can be done with it in such short amount of time, while creating some lovely dimension and contrast. So.... here is my attempt at V. 2! Thanks so much for taking a peek! P.S. I thought that I'd also enter my V. 2 card in the Moxie Fab Die Cutting Challenge! V.2 V.1

The Papertrey Ink June Countdown is about to come to an end and I'm here to share my final projects with you today. But, before I do, let me remind you that everything you've seen peeks of will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink beginning 10 pm EST tonight. Now, let me get started!... First up, Happy Hexagons by Nichole Heady. I chose to stamp these happy little guys in a color combo of Aqua Mist, Melon Berry, Harvest Gold & Lavender Moon. Stamped a We Go Together sentiment and finished the card off with a few extra hexagons popped up with dimensional adhesive. Next, Lovely Layers by Nichole Heady. This is truly a lovely set! I stamped a large and small row along the cardstock edge in a color combo of Melon Berry & Sweet Blush. Finished the card off with a sentiment and a couple Smokey Shadow buttons. Next, Military Stars by Nichole Heady. I die cut a few stars from Enchanted Evening cardstock and added a Pure Poppy impressed border along the edge. The center star was inked in both Spring Rain and Enchanted evening. Next, Heart-2-Heart #5 by Melissa Bickford. At the very top of this card I stamped a grouping of these super fun banners in a color combo of Berry Sorbet, Lavender Moon, Harvest Gold & Melon Berry. Popped a row up with some dimensional adhesive and finished the card off with a festive sentiment. Next, Background Basics: Rainbows by Nichole Heady. I began by stamping the beautiful background in a color combo of Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Canyon Clay & Terracotta Tile. Finished the card off with a sentiment strip, sentiment from Beautiful Butterflies. Last but not least, Framed Out #5 by Heather Nichols. I drew a bit of inspiration from a card in this previous post (second card down). I tried a bit of embossing/impressing onto a color blocked panel, and I love the turn out. Well, that's all of them! Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Teams fabulous projects as well... Hello friends! Happy Friday again! Hope you had a wonderful week. Here...my main concern was just trying not to melt! Over 100 all week and yesterday on the way home from work? 109! It was another busy week and I'm happy to have a weekend to do some fun stuff. What are you doing this weekend? Are you gettin' crafty? I have a mix of things to do this weekend and will probably also go in to work for a little bit. I need to really buckle down and get ready for my upcoming classes at Paper Garden! I already...
Hello! Papertrey Ink are celebrating their 6th Anniversary with some super contests. This one is using one of their free printables to create a card. I made two cards, I will come back later with the second one. This is my first card. The printable is the centre image. I matted it on Fresh Linen card and created the background using Hexagon Cover Plate and stamped with Embellishments in Fresh Linen and SU! Bashful Blue. I don't usually use digital images in my cardmaking. I don't find that I have much success with my printer. My new printer seems to have done an awesome job, and I'm quite happy with the outcome on this one. ;-) If you want to give this a go, you can pop over to Papertrey Ink and grab the freebies for yourself. Thanks for dropping by! I'll be back after another mad rush around the countryside collecting children from various activities! Michelle xxx
How about some fun Papertrey Ink shares today? Let's first start with what I'm calling "My Hexagon Cover Plate Period". "Happy Hexagons" is to-die-for in every way possible. I used the cover plate and stamp set here to create three horizontal lines across the card in the same color, but changed the pattern to create a larger hexagon focal point. I realized that you could layer two cuts of Hexagon Cover Plates on top of each other and create new patterns. So this card is what happens when you slide one cut directly horizontal over another cut. Sort of a Greek key look. Also uses a fabulous sentiment from "We Go Together". Flower Fusion #7 helped me out here too. And for a third look, slide the top cut 45 degrees to the right over the bottom cut. You get this star pattern. Kinda neat, huh? I used "Framed Out #5", "Larger Than Life", and "Happy Hydrangeas" stamps and the new Limitless Layers 2.25" Square dies to create a window to showcase that fabulous cover plate pattern. Who else is completely thrilled with the new Bitty Baby Blessings dies? I've been waiting for these! Love the original stamp set. I hung an onesie from a banner created with the new "Heart-2-Heart #5". My brother is a naval aviator. He goes on shorter deployments, but it will be just a matter of time before he's gone for longer periods of time. I'll tuck this away until I need it. I'm glad I have "Military Stars" and "Military Heroes" to turn to when I need to make him a card. "Lovely Layers". This is my favorite of this month's release. You can do so much with it without a lot of effort. Did anybody else think pairing it up with "Modern Basics' might be a good idea. Same shapes. So I had to go with that on this card. And lastly, "BB: Rainbow". Use it like you would a scalloped die cut border. A nice subtle framing background on this card. Very vintage. Thanks for joining me this month. :) I'll see you around soon.... next time with a baby announcement. Not much longer now! :) For more inspiration, check out the PTI blog ring: Jessica Witty Betsy Veldman Dawn McVey Heather Nichols Melissa Phillips Ashley Cannon Newell Maile Belles Danielle Flanders Debbie Olsen Michelle Wooderson http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/>Nichole Heady Supplies Lovely Layers Stamps: Lovely Layers, Modern Basics Cardstock: Raspberry Fizz, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Stamper's Select White Patterned Paper: Raspberry Fizz Gingham Dies: Pinking Shear Border, Lovely Layers Ink: Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz, Fresh Snow Buttons: Pure Poppy Military Hero/Military Stars Stamps: Military Hero, Military Stars, Men of Life, Road Trip, Framed Out #5, Postmarks, Super Stars, Faux Ribbon Cardstock: Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Stamper's Select White, Enchanted Evening Dies: Double Ended Banners, Seeing Stars, Limitless Layers 1.75" Circles, Framed Out #5 Ink: Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy, Spring Rain We Go Together Stamps: We Go Together, Flower Fusion #7 Dies: Half & Half Collection, Flower Fusion #7, Flower Fusion Stem Cardstock: Enchanted Evening, Hawaiian Shores, Stamper's Select White Ink: Enchanted Evening, Hawaiian Shores Hexagon Cover Plate Background Basics: Rainbow Stamps: Background Basics: Rainbow, Lace Bouquet, Movers and Shakers Sentiments Dies: Love Lives Here Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Soft Blush Patterned Paper: Fine Linen Bitty Dot, Dearest Jane Ink: Soft Stone, Fine Linen, Kraft, Dark Chocolate Heart-2-Heart #5 Stamps: Heart-2-Heart #5, Bitty Baby Blessings, Super Star, Tiny Tags #1 Cardstock: Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Lavendar Moon, Spring Rain Patterned Paper: Bitty Baby Blessings Dies: Bitty Baby Blessings Collection, Heart-2-Heart #5, Limitless Layers 2.25" Squares Ink: True Black, CTHM Grey Flannel Happy Hexagons Stamps: Happy Hexagons Paper: Stamper's Select White, Winter Wisteria, Hibicus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Winter Wisteria Ink: Hibicus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Winter Wisteria Dies: Lower Case Block Alphabet, Love Lives Here Collection, Hexagon Cover Plate Framed Out #5 Stamps: Framed Out #5, Larger Than Life, BB: Text Style II, Happy Hydrangeas Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Kraft, Soft Blush, Berry Sorbert, Spring Moss Ink: Fine Linen, Spring Rain, Kraft, Simply Chartreuse, Spring Rain Patterned Paper: Simply Chartreuse Striped Patterned Paper Dies: Hexagon Cover Plate, Limitless Layers 2.25" Squares, Larger Than Life, Framed Out #5, Happy Hydrangea Collection Fine Linen Button

I am really loving a die called Cover Plate: Quatrefoil Die by Papertrey Ink, and I pulled it out the other day to play around with it again. I cut one Quatrefoil piece out of white cardstock and three more Quatrefoil pieces using the plaid papers from the 6x6" Double Dutch Tiny Tablet by Lily Bee Designs. I first placed the white border onto my card and then filled in the colorful centers with the plaid pieces! It's fun to create a design with the patterns. The little pieces pop out, and you can arrange them however you'd like. Everything is placed onto a white cardstock base, and I like how the white-on-white looks. For the sentiment, a piece of vellum was added and a stamped "Thank You" from PTI's Think Big Favorites #4. I really like how the patterns still show through the sentiment. To adhere the vellum, I used a few tiny dots of Elmer's Craft Bond Fabric & Paper Glue, which worked beautifully and dried clear. Swing over to the Lily Bee blog for more card inspiration today from the talented Michi Nobeno.
Here I am again. Last week I attended a study week in Broadstairs, UK. I'm looking back on a wonderful week with a great group of fellow students, good teachers, a lovely host family and lots of sunhine (not a drop of rain at all!). This week was part of my Teachers Trainings Course. Little by little I get my credits done. I'm one of the lucky teachers in secondary education who have got another week of holiday. This week will be busy with studying for my tests in June, household chorus, a little sunbathing and crafty time. My parents have visitors from the States and they brought me some PTI goodies! Lucky me! These cards are made with PTI's Happy Hexagons stamps and die and the sentiments are from Mini Blooms . I'd like to link these cards to this week's challenge 'Hexagon' at the CASology blog. Thanks for coming by!
Merry Christmas! I hope all of you are having a blessed day with family and friends. Our daughter is getting married next summer, so this is her last Christmas at home so we are going to cherish every minute of it. Today I have my card for this week's ColourQ. This week's colors are super fun. I decided to make a thank you card instead of another Christmas card. I thought this sentiment was perfect. This week's colors: Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have wonderful Christmas day. My crafty time lately has been spent on a lot of publication submissions, with some success. So I was happy to actually have some 'just for fun' crafty time this weekend to play along with some challenges. I just got some new My Mind's Eye paper which fit well with the CREATE blog hexagon challenge, so had to play along. It's pretty CAS but I really like how it turned out. The only problem? Now I have to get some more of this hexagon paper... :D. To add to the reams of paper I already have... my name is Glenda and I am patterned paper addict... I realized that I have everything but birthday cards in my stash (what? crazy, I know - just don't gravitate towards them, for some reason). So you may be seeing a lot of birthday cards on here in the near future! Happy Monday to you. Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by. Welcome to this week's TCP Tuesday Color Challenge from The Cat's Pajamas! I have to say that our challenge hostess, Lori, has chosen the yummiest color palette to kick off summer, with melon, orange and lemon colors. I couldn't resist this hexagon craze that's every-which-way-you-look these days and used my trusty Silhouette Cameo to snip out a few for me. After I cut my anchor hexagons from solid paper, I simply used them as a template to create more hexagons from scraps of patterned paper. Easy peasy lemon squeezy, my friends! My clean-and-simple card is topped off with a simple sentiment from the must-have-set Simply Said and a grosgrain bow in lemon. Here is Lori's color palette...yum! Be sure to check out Alma's blog for more TCP Tuesday details as well as the announcement of this week's Weekly Winner! As for me, I'm all a go-go for watermelon these days, so I'm off to search for watermelon smoothie recipes as we head into a hot weekend here in WI! How about this one... Have a great weekend! ~Amy
While waiting for work/school to get cancelled last night, I thought I would play along with the current Step it Up challenge at WPlus9 and combine that with Moxie Fab World's Happy for Hexagons challenge. I used WPlus9's Quilt Cuts 1 dies as well as, you guessed it, Fresh Cut Florals and More Fresh Cuts. I knew I wanted to have three layers to the card for the dimension challenge. I cut one section of hexagons out of my front panel. The outline of the hexagons was saved as I knew I wanted to use that on the card base. On a piece of scrap cardstock, I stamped the floral cluster. This piece was trimmed down to fit beneath the front panel and the hexagon outline was adhered over top. I cut two more hexagon sets. One was left plain, the second was stamped with another floral cluster (note I left the hexagons in the frame, and actually on my cutting plate, when stamping the flowers, so the framed got stamped too). Also, I made sure that each hexagon had at least a little stamping on it. I adhered a plain hexagon outline to the front of the panel. The stamped hexagons were aligned with this frame and popped out with foam tape. The frame with stamping was then adhered to the panel at the top left. I also added a few of the plain unstamped hexagons to the card, and then stamped the sentiment. Finally, the entire front panel was adhered with dimensional foam tape. I love how much depth there is in this one, but how CAS it is too. Hope that you're having a great day, we'll be hanging out, watching the Olympics, and playing outside if it's not too windy.
I think I need to see how many different ways I can use this border stamp set! Here I made patterned paper by stamping lines of the alphabet border stamp and then adding some color with Distress markers. I then use my hexagon Lifestyle Crafts dies to cut that piece. I used the sketch at retro sketch. Linda pkod.blogspot.com/

Good morning, Friends, and welcome to the first day of the July Papertrey Ink new release countdown! This morning I have the pleasure of introducing you to the brand new L'Shanah Tovah mini set. This mighty little set includes apple and honey images as well as a selection of sentiments perfect for your Rosh Hashanah creations. Nichole and Heather are also showcasing this set today, so you'll have plenty of inspiration to get your juices flowing this morning. How about we get on to the projects, eh? My first card today features the two-step honey wand included in the set. I began by die cutting the Cover Plate: Hexagons from Harvest Gold and white cardstocks. I stamped a few of the Harvest Gold hexagons with one of the strips from Ombre Builders to give them a bit of a darker tone-on-tone appearance. Then, I adhered the white outline panel to a Lemon Tart card front and filled in a cascade of hexagons from one corner to the other, randomly adding in the stamped variety. Next, I heat embossed the sentiment onto a strip of vellum using gold detail powder. I attached the ends of that strip to the back of the Lemon Tart panel before adhering that whole piece to a white card base. I then die cut the honey wand shape and stamped the honey with Harvest Gold ink. I followed up by heat embossing the wand with gold powder. I attached they honey wand to the card front with foam tape to finish the card. My next project for today is a Rosh Hashanah gift set centered around the apple. I knew I wanted to create a gift box and was hemming and hawing about which box to use when it hit me...the Favor It: Cupcake Box! Perfect! I began by die cutting and assembling a Favor It: Cupcake Box shape from Pure Poppy polka dot paper (if you missed the assembly video last month you can find it HERE). I created a stem from Dark Chocolate felt and embellished with a Leave It Be leaf. Then I stamped a Sketched Shapes banner with a sentiment from the set and tucked it under the stem. Wouldn't this be perfect filled with Bit-O-Honey candies? The card came together just as quickly. I began by die cutting the Cover Plate: Mighty Oak from white, Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, and Kraft cardstocks. I layered the white panel over a Simply Chartreuse Striped card front and added in a few random leaves using the Ripe Avocado and Spring Moss cuts. I stamped the tree trunk with the image from the coordinating stamp set using Kraft ink. I inlaid that into the white panel and then stamped the sentiment from L'Shanah Tovah in Dark Chocolate ink. Then, I die cut and stamped three of the solid apples (there's an outline version in the set as well) and adhered those to the card front using foam tape. That's all I have for you today. Thank you so much for joining me! I'll see you back here tomorrow with more projects featuring L'Shanah Tovah. In the meantime, Nichole, Betsy, Dawn, Heather, Maile, Melissa, and Erin all have more inspiration in store. I'll see you tomorrow! It's the 15th again, and that means the Papertrey Ink team is allowed to share what we've been working on for the month of August! First, meet the new Heart-2-Heart #7 stamp set. I've used the leaves two different ways here - once as rows, and then I stamped them front to front to create little circles down the second card. The cute flower die is the Heart-2-Heart #7 die. Simple to layer and pull up the edges of the flower for a bit of dimension. Heart-2-Heart #7 Cards: STAMPS: Heart-2-Heart #7 INK: Spring Moss, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold PAPER: white and Harvest Gold cardstock, Pure Poppy Pattern Pack DIES: Heart-2-Heart #7 (flower), Heart-2-Heart #3 (heart) OTHER: pearls by Melissa Frances, 2" circle punch by Fiskars. ----------- Next, meet the Framed Out #7 stamps and dies. I popped up the pretty frame and added a flower from the Heart-2-Heart #7 in felt. I decided to try some different colors of stamping on the Spring Moss cardstock - used Spring Moss, Pure Poppy and True Black. You're the Best card: STAMPS: Framed Out #7, Background Basics: Houndstooth, Sunflower Bouquet, Think Big Favorites #19 INK: Spring Moss, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, True Black inks PAPER: Spring Moss cardstock, Pure Poppy Pattern Pack, script paper is by Pink Paislee DIES: Framed Out #7, Heart-2-Heart #7 OTHER: felt, Ripe Avocado button, Pure Poppy ribbon, pearl by Melissa Frances. ----------- Here I've used the new Think Big Favorites #19 stamps and the Counting My Blessings dies, as well as Background Basics: Herringbone! On the first card, I cut several "thankfuls" and layered them. The white ones are so pretty on white cardstock! This tone-on-tone look could be done with any color! On this card, I alternated the look of the smaller herringbone stamp and left room in the center for the large word. This way the word really stands out. I layered some leaves from the Autumn Acorns dies and hung a little Tiny Tags heart from the word with twine. So in love with this card! Thankful card set: STAMPS: Background Basics: Herringbone, Think Big Favorites #19 INK: Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate PAPER: white, Fine Linen Pattern Pack, Pure Poppy Pattern Pack, Dark Chocolate Pattern Pack DIES: Tiny Tags, Counting My Blessings, Autumn Acorrns OTHER: Dark Chocolate button, rustic twine, Pure Poppy ribbon. ----------- Here is a more modern looking one with the Thanks All Ways stamps and the Cover Plate: Quatrefoil die. I cut a quatrefoil shape, placed it on my card and glued down the pieces, then removed the outer piece. I only used half of the pieces for a slanted look. Thanks for All You Do card: STAMPS: Thanks All Ways INK: Fresh Snow PAPER: Smokey Shadow cardstock, Ripe Avocado cardstock, white, Autumn Abundance patterned paper DIES: Cover Plate Quatrefoil die OTHER: white embossing powder, My Mind's Eye brad. ----------- "Just a Note" features Sunflower Bouquet. I used chalks to give the sunflowers and vase a soft look. The triangles of patterned paper remind me of a little tablecloth. Just a Note card: STAMPS: Background Basics: Newsprint, Background Basics: Houndstooth, Sunflower Bouquet INK: Harvest Gold, Classic Kraft, Soft Stone, True Black PAPER: White cardstock, Simply Chartreuse Pattern Pack DIES: Sunflower Bouquet OTHER: Chalks, Ripe Avocado ribbon, Little Yellow Bicycle pin. ----------- "Thanks for coming to my party" uses the cupcake from Foodie Fun and sentiments from Thanks All Ways, and they are just quickly stamped onto a graph paper by Crate Paper. Easy! I punched some red polkadot paper for the cherries on top. Thanks for Coming to My Party card: STAMPS: Foodie Fun, Thanks All Ways INK: Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Sweet Blush, Ripe Avocado PAPER: Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold DIES: corner rounder OTHER: twine by the Twinery, red paper, graph paper by Crate Paper. ----------- Last, something different - a little folk art looking framed piece with the Autumn Hills stamps (tree and sentiment). I cut some leaves with the older Autumn Acorns dies with felt and wrapped them around a spool with rustic twine. The patchwork feel of the hexagons to me really went with the rustic, cozy feel of the Autumn Hills stamps! Bountiful Blessings Frame: STAMPS: Autumn Hills, Happy Hexagons, Background Basics: Houndstooth INK: Classic Kraft, True Black, Pure Poppy, Spring Moss PAPER: Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss, Classic Kraft cardstock, Summer Sunrise Pattern Pack DIES: Autumn Acorns, Happy Hexagons, Teacher's Apple OTHER: black paper - Crate Paper, ruler paper - Echo Park, Pure Poppy button, rustic twine, Dark Chocolate button, Fine Linen felt, twine spool, Maya Road pin, frame - Target. That's it for me. All products will be available at 10 pm EST tonight at www.papertreyink.com! Let me know if you have any questions about these projects, I'll be happy to answer them. Have a good day!
