Hi there! I'm catching up! This post is jam-packed with pics of cards that I've made for the shop, Arts Plus Gallery. Of course, the Mother's Day ones are not there anymore, but the rest are for sale, if you are interested. Do you like to sew? I found out about a non-profit group called, Dress A Girl Around The World, and they can always use our help. A couple of kind ladies at my local church told me about this organization. They need volunteers to help sew simple dresses to be given to girls in need around the world. In one particular case, according to the lady I spoke with at church, there are young girls in Africa who walk a long distance to school. There are uniforms the girls need to wear when they get to school, but they are not allowed to bring the uniforms home; those need to be kept at the school. Since these children are so poor, they do not have proper clothes to wear on the journey to and from classes. Because they are defenseless and barely-clothed, they are often attacked on the road. Breaks your heart, doesn't it? That's where Dress A Girl Around The World comes in. They ship pretty, simple dresses made by volunteers like you and me to the children. They get to keep their very own dress, and can wear it under their school uniform. You've got to see the sweet faces on the website's home page. Those kids have likely never seen such beautiful clothes, let alone owned them, and there's something really awesome about these dresses: each one is sewn with a Dress A Girl label on the front. This helps keep predators at bay, because it shows that these girls are being cared for by an organization and are LOVED. What a wonderful way to share love with little ones around the globe, and help them stay safer. I hope to sew some of these dresses myself soon. If you are interested in helping the organization, please visit their website. Thank you, and God bless you! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Hello Everyone!! Today I have something a little different for you. How many of you have seen a Living Card? They are the cards you can...
Welcome back to Day Two of Flourishes April Sneaks! Today we’re previewing Botanical Bookplates, Vol. 2. Like Botanical Bookplates, Vol. 1, this set coordinates with the Tailor-Made Classic Bookplate Template die, shown below. I decided to use the sweet little pansies for this card and I went with a purple color palette. I stamped the image on Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with these Copic Collections: Evergreen Collection: Robin’s Egg Collection: Tea Rose Collection: Then I cut it out and popped it up on some foam dots. The sentiment was stamped on a Tailor-Made Classic Tags Die and added to the bow. I’m also using some May Arts Crochet White lace under the ribbon. This month’s 1, 2, 3 Create Kit is gorgeous and is available now! Now, be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you today... Barbara Anders (

I used the flower image and stamped randomly with Memento lulu lavender on the classic white cardstock. The edge was also sponged with the same Distress Ink. The card base was designed with colored cardstock and the layer that was punched with the decorative edger punch. To finish off, the gingham check ribbon, purple pearls and Prima petal pin were used for the embellishments. The card size is 5 1/2” x 5 1/2”. Copic colors I used for this project: and YG11, Y35. Good morning everyone and welcome to another Beautiful World Tour. It's my turn to host the challenge this month, and I challenged the Beautiful World Team to create a bookmark. Once again it's time to join in with us and travel the world to see how each DT member created their bookmark using Flourishes stamps. As always, to join in with us, you will need to leave a comment on each designers blog by 31st March, to be in with a chance of winning a FREE FLOURISHES STAMP SET!!! If you arrived here from Iwona's blog, then you're in the right place. If not, you need to hop back to the Flourishes blog and start your tour from there. Here is my bookmark... For my bookmark I used Flourishes 'Botanical Bookplates Vol.1' stamp set, along with the coordinating 'Taylor-Made Classic Bookplate' die. I also cut two slightly larger layers by hand and coloured them to coordinate. I then layered my bookplate on top. Finally, I topped my bookmark with a butterfly from Spellbinders Les Papillions Two. I coloured my violets with markers and distress inked my butterfly. Thanks for visiting me today. It's now time for you to fasten your seat belts and jet off to your next destination, which is Aleksandra in beautiful Slovenia.

You can see in the background that I did sponge some Summer Sky Memento ink to create my blue sky! I used these Copic Collections: And, here's a closeup.... Other card details... I used some pleated ivory trim, ivory cotton ribbon, some Miss Nelly and Happy Travels decorative paper packs. The center image was created using Spellbinders Classic Oval and Labels Ten dies, cut thanks to my Grand Calibur. And that, my friends, is it! Would you like to win the Hello Baby set? Happy Friday! Today is Flourishes Free for all Friday. My creation is pretty straight forward today and I have to say I love how this turned out. My creation is using the new Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2 and I think this is my favorite of the two. I have to tell you this tailor-made classic bookplate die really is simple and creates a great card in minutes. Almost taking all the work out of a card, ha! Ofcourse you still have to color the image and that but see how simple this is and looks classy? Moving on... we have the flowers that are colored using Copic Collection Violet for the petals with a little of Y02 for the centers. Added a few jewels to the bottom. This textured piece I got my friend Pat, sorry I don't know the name. Finished it off with a little ribbon and button twine combo. Don't forget about our New Release Bundle Discount, that ends tonight. Be sure to check out the creations from the Design Team: Christine Cindy Julie Dawn Danielle Barbara Tammy Sharon
It's new release time again at Flourishes and this month we're rolling out some more gorgeous stamp sets for you to enjoy! Starting with today and this beautiful new Hydrangea stamp set, beautifully illustrated by Marcella Hawley! Below is my card using this new stamp set... The colors I used on my card come from the Color Throwdown challenge for this week, and the layout is the Retro Sketch #10. I was SO inspired by Iwona's beautiful card using the same sketch, and so I CASE'd her just a little bit with my design and the way I did my sentiment. I used the Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities on my design, coloring the hydrangeas on Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock with Copics from the Hydrangea and New Leaves collections. The papers I used are the new PB&J from Basic Grey, and the gingham ribbon is May Arts. In the background is a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder. Now, be sure to take note of this special announcement, too... Flourishes is having a big Spring Cleaning Sale through this Sunday! You can take 15% off a huge variety of embellishments, Spellbinders dies, embossing folders, tools, and paper in the Flourishes online store! Just be sure to enter the code SPRINGCLEAN when you check out! Would you like to win this new set? All you need to do is leave some love in the form of a comment on the blogs below! Why? Hi, all, back again with another Gabrielle 1, 2, 3 Create Kit from Flourishes. I really, really love this kit. The papers are gorgeous, the ribbon and embellishments are perfection! Everything I used on this card, except the stamp set and the Spellbinders dies, is included in the kit. First of all, I stamped the tulip from the Thank You set on patterned paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, colored it with Copic markers, and cut it out. Then I put the card base together. See that brown sheer ribbon? It is SOOOOOO silky sheer. I've been seeing some pleated ribbon about blogland and decided to use this to make my own. I simply put a strip of 1/8" Scor Tape on the edge of the ribbon and began to pleat it. The Scor Tape kept it in place until I got a long enough piece pleated, then I added another strip of Scor tape to hold it firmly together. Then I put a piece of that dotted ribbon over the taped edge to hide the Scor Tape. After I stamped the sentiment, also from the Thank You set, I stamped the large text piece on more patterned paper, cut it out with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die and matted it with a scalloped die cut. Finally, I added some bling and popped up the tulip to finish it off. You can see more cards made with this kit at a couple of my team mates' blogs. Be sure to check them out and then go get yourself one of these kits! Julie Koerber – D.T. Coordinator Stacy Morgan Thanks so much for stopping by today! ~Supplies~ Stamps: Thank You (Flourishes) Paper: Kraft (SU!); Gabrielle 1,2,3 Create Kit Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger) Accessories/tools: ribbon, bling (Gabrielle Kit); Grand Calibur, Classic Circle and Scalloped Nestabilities dies (Spellbinders); Copic markers
Hey everyone! The leaves have turned their bright yellow here on the prairies and most have blown away. The nights are cold and we've officially had our first frost here. It's truly Autumn! So with Autumn upon us, I decided to make an Autumn inspired mini album to share with you today and incorporate some stamping into it! I mean... it wouldn't be an Ally creation if it didn't involve stamping!!! Right?!? So I started off decorating my mini album cover using the gorgeous stamps from the "Sunflowers" collection. I coloured them using Copic Markers and then fussy cut them out and adhered to the cover. Here's a close up of my flowers. I used an ornate die from Spellbinders to use as a back drop for my focal flowers. It's die cut from Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock. Inside of my front cover, I die cut a circle and stamped my cute little rooster weather vein from the "Country Road" stamp collection. Below that I added a Copic coloured swag of flowers from the "Autumn Blossoms" stamp set. I created numerous pockets and pull outs in my album, including this simple tag where I stamped the sunflower images (one coloured at the bottom of the pocket too) using the "Sunflowers" stamp collection. Here's another tag I created using the gorgeous floral swags form the "Autumn Blossoms" stamp set. This is one of my favourite places in my mini! I stamped the large sunflower image onto Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock using Memento's "Tuxedo Black" ink and then... I fussy cut only the part of the tag showing out of the pocket! I coloured the remaining hidden tag using Copic Markers... I added some cute image to the flaps of my removable tags too, like this farm image stamped in Memento "Desert Sand" ink from the "Country Road" stamp collection. Another image from the "Country Road" stamp collection stamped onto patterned paper... I even stamped image at the bottom of some of my larger tag pull outs... And for my final page and pull tag, I used the "Autumn Blossoms" and "Sunflowers" stamp sets to stamp an image at the bottoms. I hope you have enjoyed my little Autumn inspired mini album project today. So the next time you create a fun altered art project, don't forget to include your stamps! It's fun! ~ Ally ~ Sponsored by: Flourishes LLC Supplies: stamps: Flourishes (Autumn Blessings (not shown), Autumn Blossoms, Country Road, Sunflowers) cardstock: Flourishes Classic Black, Ivory & White, Bazzill patterned papers: Graphic45 die cut shapes: Spellbinders ink: Memento, Ranger, Copic Markers ribbon: American Crafts other: thread.
Hi all! Since it's the Friday after Flourishes' release - the DT loves to show off another creation with the new sets and we just have a bit of a free for all! And, today is no exception! It's also the last day for the New Release Bundle - a time when you can pick up all four new sets at 10% off when you purchase them together in a bundle. So... moving on to my creation! This card really couldn't get much simpler and I love that because it seems we always need to make those special occassion cards in a jiffy! All I did was pick up the My Mind's Eye Howdy Doody paper pack (it's in this month's 123 Create Kit!). For starters, I stamped the onsie three times on different coordinating card stock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. This set is called Hello Baby! and I just think the images in this set are really.... the sweetest! Ok, moving on... I picked three sentiments from the set and stamped them on each of the onsies. Cut them out and attach them with foam tape to the front panel of a card that's been decked out in different punched and stitched layers of the same paper. Add a fun cotton linen pink ribbon and of course ... a button.. and voila! Quick and easy baby card in a flash! Here's a close up! You'll have to check and see what the other gals created this Friday! So, head on over and see.... Barbara Anders Christine Okken Cindy Lawrence Danielle Kennedy Dawn Burnworth Jan Marie Caruso Julie Koerber Sharon Doolittle Stacy Morgan Tammy Hershberger Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you all have fun weekend plans and can steal away for some fun creativity yourself! TGIF!
Hello. :-) In the years before I had children, I used to force paperwhite flowers to give as Christmas gifts. It's really easy to do, and makes an incredibly lovely presentation for someone (even yourself). I would scour thrift stores to find vessels for the bulbs to grow in, but the one I always used for myself was from my dad. It's a decent size, made of glass, and Dad told me it was an antique battery holder. It's one of the few treasures I have of his, and reminds me just how much he loved shopping for antiques (though, at the time, I thought it was just old junk; what did I know?). The Christmas cards I'm sharing today feature a Flourishes set, Paperwhites. I was lucky enough to win it one November a few years ago. Each of these two cards have the same color palette: warm grays and cream. Even the same Copic markers were used on each one, but with quite different results. The first is my favorite, and that of my 13 year old daughter, as well. A smidgen of a vintage book page peeks out at top and bottom behind the main panel. A vintage button and thread adorn it. I've stamped the "Season's Greetings" sentiment from the Paperwhites set across the bottom, over the flower stems. Finally, a coating of crystal glitter over the flowers gives it a subtle, festive feel. I used a colorless blender pen by Copic to create some random dots amidst the background. Love how it turned out. On the next card, I used a smaller bouquet stamp from the set to create a background for the card base. The main panel was colored with the same markers as above, but see how much different it looks when on cream cardstock? Same greeting, stamped in the same way, but this time I also stamped it in black on a mini circle tag. It was popped up on foam dimensional stickers, and tied with the vintage thread. Which one do you like better? Before I go, I just want to share a pic of my girls when they were younger. Why? Because this mother's heart is bursting with gratitude to be entrusted with these precious lives. I love my girls so very, very much. Thank you so much for visiting me today. I really appreciate it! Stamps: Paperwhites - Flourishes Paper: Sahara Sand, Basic Gray - SU; Vintage Cream - PTI; vintage book page Ink: Sahara Sand - SU; Memento Tuxedo Black - Tsukineko Fibers: vintage thread Accessories & Tools: Classic Tags die - Memory Box; Copic markers; vintage button; Crystal glitter - Martha Stewart
Happy Monday! Welcome to another Bring Back Beautiful Challenge! For this month’s Bring Back Beautiful challenge, we’d like to honor those in our lives that bless us with their friendship with THE BEAUTY OF FRIENDSHIP. The challenge is just that simple – make a card or creation with a friend in mind! One of the things I love to do is mix and match Flourishes stamp sets. For my card I am using Sweet Days of Summer, Seeds of Friendship, Fuchsias In Bloom(tag sentiment), and Tiny Flowers and Tags (leafy image to stamp tag with). I started with a new Spellbinder's Embossing Folder for my background. To make the embossed areas really pop I glided my Momento Rhubarb ink pad over the top til I achieved the look I was going for. Gliding the ink pad over the top allows the color to grab onto just the raised portions. You need to turn the card stock to make sure all the raised areas are covered. I ink distressed the edges with Rangers Brushed Corduroy ink. Next, I die cut the new Spellbinder's Floral Ovals using Metallic Mirrored card stock. Love these dies! When cut with mirrored card stock the look is even more amazing if that is even possible. I layered with a softly stenciled Spellbinder's oval die using Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock. I used Ranger's Scattered Straw ink and using the Ink Blending Tool with Replacement foam helps to achieve the inner glow. I did use two copic markers (R24 and R59) from Flourishes Copic Color Collections to color the flowers in the image. I finished with a seam binding bow, a flower, and sentiment tag. To keep all of my panels staying put I like to use Scor-tape. I also used some dimensional foam tape to create some depth and dimension. As always thanks so much for stopping by! Please give a warm welcome to the newest Bring Back Beautiful designers, Claudia, Linda, and Naomi! A big Congrats, too, to Kathy for stepping up to take the reigns to be team coordinator! Looking forward to working with you all! Betty Wright (you are here)! Claudia Rosa Iwona Palmountain Kathy Jones Linda Duke Naomi Gong Yvonne Hagane Betty
Happy, Happy Friday!!! I am so ready for the weekend, and I'm super excited to share today's card with you. It has been a LONG time since I went full blown "distress mode" on a card. Years I think. And it was so much fun!!! I have a baby shower to attend for one of my nieces this weekend, and she's from an antique loving family. Her colors were navy and gray, so I thought I'd lean towards grays for this baby card. I added some yellows to make it a little more happy. I used Power Poppy's Precious Baby stamp set. This image includes a set of baby blocks, but I didn't think they fit well proportionally on the card, so I just cut them off. Easy peasy. Below is a close up of the image. For the inside, I used another of the sentiments included in this set. That's it for today's project. I hope you'll check out what the following Bloom Brigaders have to share today: Christine Okken Julie Koerber Katie Sims Stacy Morgan Tosha Leyendekker---you are here Thanks for visiting!! I hope you have an awesome weekend filled with creative ideas!! Hi all... hope you are all well and enjoying the Olympics. First of all I would like to thank my new followers for getting me past the 100 mark! I haven't been creating for over a week. We have been having a few things done around the house, so I've been keeping out of the way. So...just a quickie from me today. I have created a card using the Flourishes 'Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2' set of stamps, some Spellbinders, a Sizzix embossing folder, distress inks, some bling and just a little glamour dust....and I coloured my flowers with Pro Markers. Thought I should just add, that I used the whole of the embossing folder for the front of my card. I fussy cut around it, and then adhered it to a folded card, cut to size. Here are the ingredients... This is a three-fer, folks! There are three cards to share here today. I was playing with old-but-new-to-me Flourishes Stamps sets (all illustrated by the fabulous Marcella Hawley) and this is what I came up with: The next one uses skinny strips of patterned paper, which I just could not throw away: If you're a crafter or cardmaker, too, isn't it a wonderful feeling to lose yourself in the art? Often, I don't have any preconceived ideas of what to design...it just comes to me as I begin to pull out the supplies. I think that's the part I love best about the whole process. It's organic and natural and soooooo satisfying. Thank you ever so much for joining me here today! God bless you!

Hello! Glad you dropped by today. :-) I'm piling multiple cards in one post, 'cause there are just too many to keep up with posting here on the blog! Beautiful hyacinths from Flourishes Hello Hyacinths, paired with an encouraging Bible verse from Papertrey Ink's Everyday Blessings. Up next, a lovely sentiment from Verve's Dare To Be, paired with Mini Rolled Roses in pale pink felt (die by My Favorite Things). Next up, some thank you cards: Hard to tell from the pic above, but that tiny bee and the square medallion stamps were gold-embossed. You can see it better below: Thanks for coming by today! Hope you are doing well in your little corner of the world. :-)
Hi all! It's day two of Flourishes' April release and I have some news for those of you that fell in love with their Botanical Blossoms 1 set released last month! That set has a "sister!" Wait until you meet.... Pansies and Lily of the Valley as beautiful as those in real life! That's what you get when you ink up this new set Botanical Bookplates 2, illustrated by Marcella Hawley. Another fun fact? Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2 was designed to match Flourishes' Tailor-made Classic Bookplate Die for a perfectly cut and embossed image each and every time! On to my creation! I have to say, I adore Marcella's style of drawing and when I first laid eyes on her version of a Lily of the Valley, I just swooned. Lily of the Valley grew all behind my house when I was growing up and if I close my eyes, I can not only see these beautiful flowers again but I can smell their sweet fragrance! To create my card was rather easy, thanks to Flourishes brand new 123 Create Kit called Howdy Doody. Here's a peek! Isn't this full of country charm? I think so! You can see all this kit has to offer HERE! For my main image, I stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then, reached for my Copic Markers to color. I used these collections: You can see I added a hint of blue to the flowers just to add a wee bit of depth. The pink was to highlight around my image and match my paper and I only used the lightest shades of the Sweet Pea Collection. For my die cut main panel, I used Spellbinders Classic Oval and Big Scalloped Ovals, cut thanks to my Grand Calibur. And one more shout out for the kit. I just love the ribbon in the kit - so classy! And, you can also get a glimpse of the little crystals as well. You can't tell but they are faceted and have a wonderful shimmer to them! And that, my friends, is it!
