You could buy a shiny brand new perfect Dansk Kobenstyle pitcher, and it would be super pretty. Or…you could find a vintage Dansk Kobenstyle pitcher like this one, with perfect chipping of the enamel in all the right places and just a touch of patina, and it would be exceptional. In teal/turquoise, it’s just beautiful. Designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard / IHQ. Marked "Dansk Design Denmark IHQ" with the four ducks logo on the underside. Measures approximately 7 inches tall and 5 inches from the handle to the spout. This pitcher is in good vintage condition, with no rust or dents, but it does have several chips in the enamel that result in an almost bird-like appearance to this piece. There is also a small area of discoloration on the woven handle. Please look closely at all photos as additional description of the item. Danish design from the 1950s.

Dansk Kobenstyle cookware is a darling of vintage cookware collectors. We love its mid-century styling and the practical enameled steel construction. (I have several vintage pieces that I use regularly!) So, last year, the big news at Housewares was that Dansk Kobenstyle was coming backYes, we’re suckers for the vintage style of Dansk Kobenstyle, and so these teacups really turned our heads. They’re solid and just the right size. I kind of fell in love.
Ó-zo praktisch, maar ook zo ontzettend gaaf zijn deze Dansk Kobenstyle pannen van de Deense designer Jens Quistgaard. Het design komt uit 1956, maar juist

This enameled-steel covered Kobenstyle pot was designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard (1919-2008) and manufactured in France for Dansk International Designs, Ltd. This brown-enameled pot has a white interior, unglazed steel bottom, and a fitted brown enamel lid. Measuring 7 ¼” in diameter, about 10” in overall width, and 3” in height, it is in near pristine condition with hardly any signs of use. The enamel is shiny and without scratches. There are a few tiny chips around the rim of the pot, visible in the photos, and almost none on the lid. Any irregularities around the steel rim are due to the enameling and firing process and not from damage. Introduced in 1955 and manufactured in Denmark, Kobenstyle was initially fully enameled with steel handles wrapped with plasticized cord. In 1965 as production moved to France, Quistgaard redesigned the line and added oiled-teak handles to the pans and changed the bottoms of the cookware from enameled to raw steel, which improved their durability. In 1974, Dansk changed its name to Dansk Designs International, and that’s how this pot is marked, which dates it to after 1974. * * * * * I am not a professional dealer; really, I'm not even a hobbyist seller. Dansk design was an American company. Their chief designer was the Danish sculptor Jens Harald Quistgaard . :Click on the link for a short video on Jens Quistgaard Photo on courtesy http://historyrepeatedagain.blogspot.co.il/2012/08/a-rough-guide-to-dating-dansk-kobenstyle.html: More than 4.500 individual pieces designed by Jens H Quistgaard went into production in his lifetime. From boats to cooking pots, from knives to chairs. At the peak of his career in 1960s and 1970s, Quistgaard was the most prolific Danish designer around. From the mid-1950s his tableware and kitchenware designs became synonymous with Scandinavian modern and found their way into millions of homes in the USA, Europe and Japan. His enamel on steel tableware and kitchenware series from 1955 was called Kobenstyle. Kobenstyle was produced in Denmark and was sold in four colors in the first year: Turquoise, Yellow, Red and "Lime Green". On late 1965 the first new designs in a decade are introduced in the Kobenstyle line, the pans are altered and now have teak handles, the colors are changed and production moves from Denmark to France. This is my entire collection of vintage Dansk pots. Danish designer (Quistgaard?), made in France.
This sauce pan was designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard (1919-2008) and manufactured in France for Dansk Designs. Measuring 5 ½” in diameter at the top, 9 ¾” long including the handle, and 4 ½” high, this sauce pan or pot has a glossy brown exterior and a glossy white interior. The teak handle is not burned or broken. The enamel is in very good condition, with a few very minor chips around the edge. There is one scuff on the interior, which I’ve shown in a photograph, but otherwise the white interior is in great condition. Introduced in 1955 and manufactured in Denmark, Kobenstyle was initially fully enameled with steel handles wrapped with plasticized cord. In 1965 as production moved to France, Quistgaard redesigned the line and added oiled-teak handles to the pots. In 1974, Dansk changed its name to Dansk International Designs, so this pot must have been fabricated between 1965 and 1974. * * * * * * I am not a professional dealer; really, I'm not even a hobbyist seller.
