Hi Stampers, Happy Monday friends ! It's that time again our Card Sketch Challenge is on card #24 this week . In case you want to catch up I have all the previous sketches posted HERE I
Another card challenge! It feels so good to get back to doing these again :) This challenge was one that didn't take long as I knew after I looked at the design team's take on the sketch that what I had in mind would work perfectly. I love flourishes and the "Swirls Around" stamp set was perfect for this challenge. Five flourishes fit almost perfectly on a standard card size and then the sentiment could go in the middle. So that's another one completed and I had fun - maybe yet another tomorrow if I find some more time! Products used are Close To My Heart unless otherwise indicated: Paper: White Daisy Cardstock, Pacifica Cardstock, Cotton Candy Cardstock, Black Cardstock Stamps: Swirls Around, 4 My Friend Inks: Ruby, Cotton Candy, Pear, Lagoon, Pacifica, Black Accessories: Foam Tape, Clear Sparkles, Baker's Twine - Paradise Assortment, Other Baker's Twine (Red, Blue, Pink - not CTMH) Enjoy, Alyson

Do you think I had any fun at all with this week's Sketch? lol After seeing CTS #315, it was clear that I had to play cards with one of the many beautiful butterflies I have at my disposal... thanks, N@! First up, a very old MFT set that still makes my heart flutter! and the impression of the bold band in the Sketch using an old Cuttlebug embossing strip! THEN, while searching for those butterfly dies, I came across another oldie-but-goodie die, and this happened: Well that surely is a fun stand in, right? It will be sent off to a very brave friend across the pond who deserves support for her battle with breast cancer. I'm wondering if the entire team used a butterfly [or pretty stand-in for her!] … let's go see! =] Michele

It's another awesome week and another awesome sketch. We hope you'll make some time to join us this week and that our creations will give you some inspiration to get started. Our guest designer this week has totally outdone herself and I know you'll think so too but before we get to all that, here's the sketch: First up is our amazing guest designer, Norine! Norine (The Velvet Lemon) sent me three cards with this sketch as inspiration and it was almost impossible to pick only one to share. I love her fresh, clean, and bright style. You can't help but stop to look at a card created by her. I know you'll see exactly what I'm talking about when you see her card below. Make sure you check out her blog for more amazing creations. Jen Rzasa of Runway Inspired Challenge suggested a collaboration with CAS(E) this Sketch. To say that the team was excited is an understatement. We.were.ecstatic! So how does this work, you ask? As with all Runway Inspired Challenges, you draw inspiration from the photo. And this time, you'll use a fun, trendy sketch by Joni to create your card. Here's my card. I was inspired by the flower on her top, and the graphic pattern on her shorts. I white embossed the Five Line Background, fussy cut the bloom, then added a few leaves and gold embossed the sentiment from Mama Elephant. If you decide to join us this week, you can also link up your card(s) at Runway Inspired Challenge and you have TWO WEEKS to enter! Just be sure to link up your entry by Thursday, May 1st. Sadly, this is the last challenge for teammate Joni Andaya. Please stop by her blog to wish her well, and visit CAS(E) this Sketch and Runway Inspired Challenge to see how both design teams were inspired! InLinkz.com
Chrissy Larsen created Sketch #385 ... I see tons of possibilities, can't you? I took advantage of this great Sketch to create a card that can be shared with Altenew's August Inspiration Challenge: That 'fairy' brings back a wonderful memory of finding a 'fairy wing' in my garden. It was then cradled in cotton, and sent to my granddaughter who shared my belief that fairies do indeed exist, and one just shed her wings in our garden! Here's where my card began, with a very old circa 2012 Memory Box Meadow Dragonfly die, and a quick swipe of Altenew's Frayed Leaf for the wings, and Silver Stone for the body, onto a scrap of white: It provided the perfect 'gossamer' feel I was aiming for: The trio of leaves for its landing zone come from Altenew's Beautiful Heart stamped in Evergreen, and layered with Frayed Leaf, and Forest Glades inks, then cut using the coordinating dies. I love Altenew's Dotted Swirls debossing cover plate to add a bit of interest to my EBE Essential Circle - notice I only debossed the inner circle and left the slim frame untouched. This tiny hello is from Altenew again - Fresh Freesia - and cut from a snippet [it had a bit of the EBE stitched details on it] with an MFT Pierced Circle Stax. NOW! It's time for me to say thanks for the visit! Then send you on your way to CTS#385 to see all the wonderful ways our DT have represented Chrissy's wonderful Sketch! =] Michele The Stamp Market: Sea glass color crush card stock for card base.
Working with the sketch I saw on the CAS(e) This Sketch Blog (CTS80), I wanted to incorporate the new In-Colors. I chose Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow. To view the challenge, Click here: http://casethissketch.blogspot.com/2014/06/case-this-sketch-80.html Thanks for such a wonderful sketch! To create the dotted background piece, I used the 'Perfect Pennants' stamp with my stamp-a-ma-jig to align the stamp and make it as wide as you see here. I used the Two-Step Owl Punch to punch out the 'a' in the sentiment in Hello Honey and attached it with a glue dot. Thanks for taking a look! Supplies Used: Stamp Sets - Perfect Pennant, Petite Petals Paper - Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Whisper White Ink - Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey Accessories - Big Shot, Windows Framelits, Petite Petals Punch, Two-Step Owl Punch, Basic Rhinestones, glue dots, stamp-a-ma-jig Whoo hoo! Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 99 brought to you by Michelle Williams. And here's my take on it. Several months ago, I inked up a ton of die cut leaves and shared them on Instagram. Donna Mikasa is our Sketch #327 artist … always a pleasure trying to get into her head! Take a looky-loo at this one... Well I tipped it … literally... put your right ear on your right shoulder - go ahead, you'll see it! I started playing with the flowers of the Alexandra Renke Welcome Butterfly set ... and I ended up with four cards! I wasn't sure what I was going to do so I stamped 2 sets of the flower with leaf, and the 2 individual flowers. The flowers had two tones of inks : started with the pale pink, then dabbed on a darker shade to the centre. I like the curve of the flowers and leaf and thought it would look good along a frame. I wanted to keep it light so used 2 of the Alexandra Renke Oval Angular frames. The second card was inspired by the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. I wanted the bigger flower and cut out the leaves of the flower & leaf images. Now that I had that little flower with 2 little leaves left ... and a tiny piece of ric rac ribbon, thought it was perfect for the CAS(e) This Sketch Challenge. All I had left now was one big and 2 little flowers. Used the middle piece left over from the lace frame and added 2 die cut leaves. My entry to ... ... Here's CAS(E) this Sketch 198, compliments of N@ Ali. And here's my take on it. I did tone on tone stamping with Whimsical Woodgrain on Natural card stock. Several leaves were die cut from watercolor card stock and ink distressed then adhered to the card per the sketch. I finished off the card with the die cut sentiment. Done! Do you recall this Sketch from April 2014? I sure do... and still think it looks like a chicken - no offense, Joni!! lol It was much easier to interpret for CTS#351 in December 2019, than April! I've used a Pinkfresh Studio wreath today... I love the 'not quite white' of Bristol paper... a bit of texture just adds a little something more … speaking of more... let's go check out what the CTS team has created, shall we? Thanks for taking a break from addressing envelopes to spend with me... =] Michele Pinkfresh Studio Layered Wreath, and Season's Greetings stamps for the sentiment, and dies for that pretty bow.

Hi there! It's Thursday... that means there's a new sketch for you to try at Case this sketch ! Here's my take on N@Ali's sketch...
Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!! Ha ha! I hope you are ready for another awesome week of fun with this week's sketch. I'm sure you'll come up with some amazing creations and I can't wait to see them
Happy New Year, my friends … thanks so much for stopping by today, and all the days in 2018 when you've given me your support, and kind words! Donna Mikasa is giving us a fabulous start to 2019 with Sketch 303 … so many possibilities - which is what I celebrate most at the top of a new year... and it's a RETRO Sketch from December of 2017! Did you play along? Last year, my card included a little envelope one could tuck a gift card into on the front of the card... this time around, I included a little gift from the heart … You might expect to see a bit of real stitching occasionally... I received a new sewing machine for Christmas! An overdue replacement for my circa 1971 model with the broken foot pedal that I couldn't replace. Nothing too fancy, but it has some stitches that mimic those from this favorite die I've used today. Hope you all enjoyed wonderful holidays … if you took a break from crafting, like I did, it's a bit daunting to start again. But also one of the best things about the new year, right? Let's go get some inspiration from my teamies at CTS, shall we?! and thanks always for stopping by! =] Michele EBE Stitching Lines EBE Block Words dies MFT Stitched Hearts Stax Altenew Sew Happy - those little pins! the fussiest cutting I've ever done! lol PTI Linen vellum Lil' Inkers wood grain cover up die

Oh say can you seeeee… why it was really difficult to resist those stars, to make this into a 4th of July celebration? I may come back for Second helpings - it has been ages since I've done that! Today, however, I had another day at the beach … well. okay. we don't have Blue crabs on our Lake Michigan beach, but a girl can dream! For CTS #276: These little darlings, and fun sentiment are from the EH Beach Lady set! My rolling sandy beaches were made with Lil' Inkers Wood Grain die! Now doesn't that just make you want to melt some butter? and maybe make a card for our Challenge? Hope so! =] Michele
A Clean and Simple Card Challenge
Hi and welcome to a very special Freshly Made Sketches post! This week marks our 300th challenge! Yep, 300 fabulous sketches! I played along with the challenge regularly since #20 when I joined in my first ever challenge and then was lucky enough to be invited to join the team from #118 and haven't missed a challenge since 😊 I love this challenge and the design team are a wonderful, supportive group of ladies that I love, even though I've never met any of them in person! Now, enough reminiscing and onto our fabulous 300th sketch. To celebrate challenge #300, all the cards made by the DT for this challenge are going to be sent to a challenge participant, whose name will be randomly drawn at the end of the challenge. How fun is that? Knowing my card was going to actually be sent to someone (shocker!) I felt some added pressure and this is actually the second card I made for the challenge. I used the adorable Fintastic Friends set by Lawn Fawn and stamped and colored various elements before die-cutting them and arranging them in the fish bowl. For the background, I white-embossed the Balloon Strings stamp onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and blended Tumbled Glass over the top before die-cutting it with a Blueprints die. I used the same die and some partial die-cutting to make a smaller rectangle from some patterned paper. The Thanks word was cut from black cardstock and painted with clear sparkle pen. So thanks for visiting! Be sure to head on over to the blog and check out the fabulous creations by the rest of the design team. And have a go at the sketch - we'd love to see a huge gallery this week. Products used: Stamps: Fintastic Friends (Lawn Fawn), Balloon Strings (MFT) Ink: Intense Black (SSS) Cardstock: White, Watercolor Wash (MFT), X-Press It Dies: Fintastic Friends (LF), Blueprints 10 (MFT) Accessories: Copics, Prismacolor Pencils, Triplus Pens, Black Glaze Pen Cheers Karren

Hi there ! Come join us this week at CASe this sketch with this awesome sketch by Leigh! My take on the sketch! The heart...
I love Retro Sketch week! This month we're going back to September of 2015 for CTS#140 I found a simple way to make this simple Sketch work for me back then. This time around I saw it with new eyes... I stretched my creative muscles - and that Clever Sausage, again! It's pretty easy to stretch the stamping, it's the die-cutting that gets a little tricky! Just cut one end, then the other and clip through the middle with scissors! Add a sweater and no one is the wiser if it didn't work out perfectly! Prisma color pencils for coloring today! Tell me what skate-boarding-wiener-dog wouldn't take pleasure in plunging right through a puddle? OH! in case you're wondering what he's dragging along behind him: I MAY have tweaked the sentiment a bit! lol We hope YOU will take the plunge and join us this week for CTS#369! let's head over to see what my fabulous teammates have made, shall we? Thanks for stopping by today... hope you're staying in, and feeling great! =] Michele
Chrissy has really stretched my creative imagination this week... in a fun way! Imagination is a curious thing … take this Sketch #356 for instance - some might see rays of sun landing on the sentiment, right? I flipped it to send some good vibes! Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations happening, baby! Okay, let's go see what Chrissie was imagining, shall we? xx =] Michele EBE Stitching Lines EBE Totally Random Sayings Vol. 1 EBE Voices in my Head Copic colored
