As soon as I saw this week's sketch at CASE this Sketch challenge, I thought of my Fancy Banner stamps and die. Here's my entry: supplies: white and Hero Arts kraft cardstock, Taylored Expressions Fancy Banner 2 stamps and die, markers to color, Simon Chisolm Wreath die, Simon Stitched Rectangle die, Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares This was really hard for me to leave this alone......I fought not to add a small colored frame around the inner rectangle, or add splatters or sequins. For me, this is CAS to the max......lots of white space! Here's the sketch - isn't it cute?
Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop, where utilise the projects within the current Stampin' Up! catalogue to inspire our own projects each week. We also invite you to join with us in the challenge each week by using this inspiration in your own creations and uploading a photo to our Facebook page. This week we are taking inspiration from the sketch of the middle card on page 68 of the Annual Catalogue. Here is that sketch broken down to its main elements to make it easer to CASE. You can add whatever you like to this basic sketch whether that be DSP, die cuts or embellishments. I decided the Frames & Flowers Specialty DSP would be perfect for this card, I started by making a template for the card shapes from vellum so that I could decide the best way to cut the DSP. As it turned out, for me that meant flipping the sketch, but I think it looks great this way around, what do you think? There was minimal stamping for this card, just the sentiment from Simply Said stamped directly onto one of the DSP elements from the pack. I raised this on Dimensionals to allow it to stand out from the card a little better. I covered the join between the two DSP patterns with ribbon from the Petal Pink & White Diagonal Trim Combo Pack. I love how this just gives a subtle element to the card. You can see how I have added a strip of DSP and one of the leaf elements to the inside of the card. I hope you are inspired to join in the challenge this week, just use the sketch to inspire your creativity, then post a picture of your project to the CTC Facebook page. Time to hop on over and see what Andrea has created this week. Happy Stamping Monique
Hi peeps! Phew, it's hot....I feel like singing Martha and the Vandella's HEAT WAVE!! I decided to cool off with some cool colors and the CAS(E) this Sketch sketch and the cue from CASology: There are some really fun cards in the CASology gallery; I wish I had the creativity that some of these stampers have! Mine is rather mundane, although I did do some sponging, which I haven't done in a while: In the next few weeks, I am going to be highlighting some SU colors that I rarely use! A wee challenge to myself, you could say! Today I am using Tempting Turquoise....I love this colors, but for some reason, never think to pull it out! I stamped the little paintbrush from the Hostess Set (last year) Love You Sew in Tempting Turquoise, Marina Mist and Bermuda Bay, then added some speckles and sponging in Soft Sky. I stamped the sentiment from Work of Art and added the swoosh from Love You Sew on top, as well as some sequins from my stash: To do the sponging, I just lined up some Post-it Notes, stamped and sponged...easy peasy! My final touch was to add a little baker's twine bow; I used the one-hole bow technique so that it doesn't slide off my panel. Thanks for popping in today! Cassidy made a little pot in Sunday School a few weeks back and we finally had time to paint it! Have a blessed day!

Hi friends! It is time for a brand new sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! I was pretty excited to use some new Stampin' Up goodies for my card! Yay! I flipped the sketch on its side and decided to be a rebel! Wow! Life has been crazy insane and I have not been crafting as much. I have one swollen leg that I deal with on a daily basis but for some reason, it has been acting up REALLY badly. So after work, I come home and sit in the chair with my leg up. As a teacher, I really do not have time to "rest" but my body is telling me it must be so! Hope you can play along at CAS(E) this Sketch!
N@ has such a cool way to stretch our design brains, doesn't she? I had a fun little 'experiment' sitting on my craft table … turns out, it was a pretty cool beginning to my card for CTS #277! I know that little balloon wasn't part of the Sketch... but come ON, we can't have a birthday without at least one! I just know you'll have fun with this Sketch, and can't wait to see you all in our gallery! =] Michele Supplies: SSS background grid stamp - thank you Chriss! Oh say can you seeeee… why it was really difficult to resist those stars, to make this into a 4th of July celebration? I may come back for Second helpings - it has been ages since I've done that! Today, however, I had another day at the beach … well. okay. we don't have Blue crabs on our Lake Michigan beach, but a girl can dream! For CTS #276: These little darlings, and fun sentiment are from the EH Beach Lady set! My rolling sandy beaches were made with Lil' Inkers Wood Grain die! Now doesn't that just make you want to melt some butter? and maybe make a card for our Challenge? Hope so! =] Michele

Hi everyone, sharing my card that I made for the Can You Case It Challenge based on this sketch. I have used stamp sets Thoughtful Banners, Gorgeous Grunge and Grateful Bunch along with the matching Blossom Bunch Punch. Colour scheme of Sweet Sugarplum, Crumb Cake, Copper and Early Espresso. I love the stitched edging around the square which was made using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, it gives the square a great finish. The flowers and leaf images were coloured using the Wink of Stella pen and Sweet Sugarplum for the flowers and Early Espresso for the leaf and stem. It gives a lovely shimmer to the card. A piece of Copper Metallic Thread was added along with some sequins to finish. Thank you for visiting. Carolyn Share:facebook - twitter - pinterest Can You Case It?

Donna created a wonderful Sketch for #307! I'm using a little gift that was tucked into a Christmas card sent all the way from Denmark! Wasn't I the lucky one to have just the perfect grey cardstock, and background stamp* to create the perfect backdrop for this darling die-cut pocket**? Is that not the coolest? Anne-Mette sent several - and she truly knows how much I love grey! LOVE that little tag for adding a few kisses and hugs... but that gold foil zipper? It is so cool, right? [I added a bit of stitching on my new machine!] Do you know I like making cards that sing? See if you can guess this very old tune... Anne-Mette knew it! and it's sung in the movie: Love Actually! Do you also know how happy I am when you drop in for a visit? Yep... always makes me smile ... so do my teamies at CTS. Let's go! =] Michele *My MFT Cheesecloth background stamp is no longer available - sadly! **This die set is currently only available in Denmark... but here's a link! https://www.happymade.dk/shop/by-lene-design-3853p.html
I'm pretty sure N@ Ali had something leafy in mind when she created this Sketch #269 for us ... I just branched out in a different way, with a family tree... I'll be giving this one to my daughter, for her MIL on Mother's Day! [though if honest, she might not recognize her son with all this hair!] Okay... I can't wait another minute to see how my CTS team interpreted this Sketch... let's go!!! Hope you join us this week!! =] Michele

Isn't it funny...don't know if it's that way with any of you, but sometimes I see a sketch and IMMEDIATELY think of something. Sometimes I have to think and think and think some more, but I guess with my wonderful son-in-law's birthday next week and my other daughter's friend's birthday in early May, AND both being musicians...I had this in mind and NOTHING else would do(I may make another something different now that I've conquered this one) when I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week:). Here's the sketch and my card... I used some actual wood paper that I got at Michael's and put a piece of chipboard behind it. I made small slits at the ends to hold the wire straight and added glue dots to the back with the ends of the wires. The wire is bead stringing wire....believe me when I tell you I got and tried almost every kind of silver thread or wire...this one worked the best, stayed the straightest....also from Michael's and is .024 in, .61 mm, in case you're wondering (did crimp at the ends with needle nose pliers for a crisp fold over the back). I stamped the black lines with Papertrey Ink's Background Basics Super Stripes and the sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Grunge Set, stamped with Stazon black. Found out, too, that stamped ink was the only way to keep ink from spreading up the wood...markers would bleed....just saying. The pick is real and hopefully will be able to be used by these amazing guys:)!!! The insides will say "Happy Birthday". Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa Thanks for all the wonderful comments and thanks to the all the ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch...my card was a FAVORITE this week:)!!! So honored!!!
CAS(E) this sketch I was inspired by the following three challenges sketch at CASe this sketch #141 Poppy Stamps Die-Autumn Splendour Just Us Girls Challenge #311-Colour Week to make my card I sprayed water colour card with Lindy's Stamp gang sprays, with mica in them and then used the 'Maple Leaf' die from Poppystamps to cut out the leaf. The die cuts with an outline so I also die cut a piece of gold card to use as the outline. I popped hessian at the back of the leaf and twine. The small maple leaves have been stamped using distress markers in three colours and represent the three small dots in the sketch. The mica in the sprays are so pretty. I have entered the Poppy stamps challenge three times but hopefully they are all very different? I am loving these dies and its that time of year to use them! Crafty Hugs x
