The Touches of Texture stamp set can be used as a background or as I did here, used as the focal image! I layered a piece of So Saffron card stock, measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″ over the Crumb Cake card base. I added the Whisper White focal image layer, which measured 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ after […]
Recently, I posted another card that was very similar using the Touches of Texture set, but I wanted to make another using some of the new In-Colors (Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide). Here are the instructions for my card: 1. The base of the card is Berry Burst cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” in the middle. 2. The second layer is Powder Pink cut at 4” x 5-1/4”. 3. The strip across is Tranquil Tide cut at 1” x 4” and attached across the middle of the Powder Pink cardstock. 4. The third layer is Berry Burst cut at 3” x 4-1/2”. 5. The fourth layer is Whisper White cut at 2-3/4” x 4-1/4”. Ink up the leaves and stem with Early Expresso and stamp them towards the bottom of the card stock. Color in leaves with Tranquil Tide marker. 6. Then ink up the flower with Early Espresso and stamp above the leaves and stem. Color in with Powder Pink. 7. Ink up the splatter of a flower with Berry Burst over the first flower (not a 2-step). 8. Ink up the honey bee in Early Espresso and stamp to right of the flower. Then take the little splotch image and ink it up with Daffodil Delight and stamp over his body. 9. Use the Wink of Stella on the bee and the flower. 10. Ink up the Smoky Slate large splotch image randomly around the edges of the Whisper White cardstock. 11. Then ink up the letters image with Berry Burst and stamp it along the edges. 12. Ink up sentiment “To a Wonderful Friend” from the Dragonfly set in Berry Burst and stamp onto strip of Smoky Slate and make it into a banner with the Paper Snips. On the Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Cruise, we were lucky enough to be given the Touches of Texture stamp set and also the opportunity to create 3 projects using the set. I've CaSED this design from one of the cards we made, just tweaking a few things to make it my own. This is such a forgiving 'collage'-style stamp set that you really can't go too far wrong...any smudges or spatters are going to look like part of your design. Gotta love that! My One Layer Wonder... I am creating some quick and easy cards that you only require a small amount of time and products. keep an eye out of the next card... The Touches of Texture stamp set is REALLY VERSATILE and I love it. It’s one of those stamp sets that you look at, and the more you think about it, the more ways you realize you can use it. It’s not only got pretty floral stamps, but lots and lots of fun background stamps such as the splatter on my card below. This stamp set has 15 stamps

Happy Friday to you!...We have a brand new challenge happening over at Just Add Ink. Kim has given us a lovely sketch to create with. I've been wanting to crack open my "Touches of Texture" stamp set and it was perfect timing for this challenge as l think the elements work well with the sketch layers. I also added a couple of the Swirls from the Swirly Bird thinlits and added some gold glimmer and details for sparkle. Don't forget to pop over and check out the rest of the design teams creations...So much lovely in one spot! Thanks for stopping by! All supplies used are Stampin Up!

WOW- Check out these pretty stemmed flowers! I really like this card! When playing with this set I was SO EXCITED to discover that the little images in this set worked as the flowers here. They don't perfectly line up, they look more like a watercolor. Isn't this cool though! I know I'll be using these stemmed flowers in another card design at an upcoming class, for sure! stamp sets: 'Touches of Texture' & 'Designer Tin of Cards' card stock: Thick Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White designer paper: Blooms & Bliss DSP ink: Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron other: Basic Pearls, Dimenaionals, Glue Dot, Mint Macaron 3/8" Sheer ribbon +++++ We had a fun time in Decorah racing last night. Nathan did good. There were alot of stock cars there & several of them didn't even make the main. Thankfully Nathan made the main feature & started 17th, was up to 5th place & he broke a front tie rod with only about 10 of the 60 laps left to go- so that was a bummer. It was really good racing, with the cars close together & side by side. The track was really good- just a little dusty sitting in the stands for the feature. Masen was happy to see us & the boys! We all went to the pits- so that was a first, but fun for all. We walked in the door just a few minutes ago.....it was a long trip! Here is a picture of the boys in the trailer, as the guys were getting the car ready to go out for the heat race. They were having a snack- pork sticks, cheese & crackers. Today we have a White Family reunion on my dad's side of the family, at Lake Iowa. Most of us haven't been together since my dad's funeral. Most of my cousins & our kids will be there, plus my 2 uncles (their wives) & my aunt (& her husband). We are all so looking forward to seeing each other & getting together. The weather is suppose to be nice today- so that is an added bonus too. Deke & I are going to pick Brayden up from his moms, so that he'll get to be with us for the day too! After the reunion we'll come home to chore & then head to Sigourney to watch the twins be in the little kids pedal/tractor pull & then go to the street dance for awhile. Usually several of Deke's classmates are home for the 4th of July holiday, so hopefully we'll get to see several of them. I hope you have a SUPER Sunday! Happy Stamping! Hugs- SUSIE

Hi Crafters! Today I've created a lovely little card for my lovely little customer Angela, who won my April Customer Draw for the Love Sparkles stamp set! It's such a gorgeous stamp set & I hope Angela has lots of fun playing with it! I've used the Global Design Project color theme - pick three of the retiring InColours - to make my card, with the images coming from the Touches of Texture stamp set & the sentiment is from the Window Shopping stamp set. I've used my favourite three colours from the retiring InColours - Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder & Mint Macaron. I've also added a Silver Foil layer, Clear Wink of Stella on the dragonflies wings & Sheer Mint Macaron Ribbon. I have used my Aqua Painter to take Watermelon Wonder directly to the card from the ink pad. I also stamped the inside to suit, but I forgot to photograph it before I wrote in it! Here is the link to the GDP Challenge: ***UPDATE*** I also entered this card into the Crazy Crafters Project Highlights & was one of the Top Five picks! Hi everyone, sharing a quick post today on the Stained Glass Technique. There is a great tutorial on Splitcoaststampers here. I embossed my image, from the 'Touches of Texture' stamp set using Silver as I liked the finished look better than the White embossing powder. The sentiment is from the 'Balloon Celebrations' stamp set. The image was coloured using Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers. The card base is Wisteria Wonder and the patterned paper is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. A few silver metallic enamel dots were added to finish the card. You can get all the supplies you need for this project from me. You can place an order online and join in the fun with the On-line Club or Contact Me and place an order. SHOP WITH ME! Hello, Crafters. I had a telephone call from the Metropolitan Police yesterday with an update about our burglary last December! They recently apprehended the suspect who already had a warrant out for his arrest on a totally unrelated case. He went to Court on Tuesday, was found guilty of the burglary, sentenced to three months’ imprisonment, suspended for two ... Read More about Touches of Textures

Hello there and happy Sunday to you. Today I am enjoying a bit of quiet time, some pottering about the house and a few chores thrown in for good measure. Mr K is on a beer making course all day today which I bought him for his birthday so I hope he has a good time! I have to collect him later on . Today I am sharing another make from last Saturday's All Day Stamp a Stack. This one is another cased card which I just fell in love with when I saw it on Pinterest. It is made by the very talented Artisan team member Amy O'Neill and you can find her design HERE. Thank you for the inspiration Amy. As you can see I had a bit of a Navy theme going on at our class which was dictated by the papers that I included in the kit. I also gave my ladies a full pack of the new doilies too. This was probably the lengthiest card of the day to make and my ladies all made 4 of these, along with 20 other cards during the day. I love the sentiment on this card which is from the new host set Time of Year which can be yours as part of your freebies when you place an order over £150 or host a party over £150. It's available right through to May next year and it's be well used by me already. Talking of codes, my online code for July is active and my June orderers should now have had their freebies in the post from me for ordering during June. Hope you liked what I chose for you ;) SaveSave

Yesterday, I needed a birthday card. I wanted to make a new card. I chose one of my new stamp sets from Stampin' Up called "Touches of Texture". This is the card that I made. The image was stamped with Memento Gray Flannel ink. Then I used my SU watercolor pencils and a blender pen to add color to the flowers and leaves. I used a Rich Razzleberry card base and Rich Razzleberry ink to finish the card. The birthday greeting is from the set "Express Yourself" and the butterfly is from the set "Papillon Potpourri" stamped on pink card stock in Rich Razzleberry ink. Using a glue pen I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter around the edges. I used the layout on the front to decorate the inside of the card. I used my laptop to create the greeting and printed it on white card stock. Then added the stamping. This card was mentioned in the "Weekly Favorites for week ending July 2" at SplitcoastStampers. Thank you!
