For today's project... My title is a little bit misleading. That's because it's not 9 squares, but 9 rectangles. I thought 9 rectangled sounded off. In fact, rectangled is not actually a word. So that's probably why. But I digress. Either way - I'm lovin' the layout. This card came about because I was going through some of my older cards to donate to the church. Whenever I do that, I pull a couple aside that I like the layout or fold, for inspiration for later card making. For this card layout - I thought the Garden Walk Designer Series...
The Fall 2023 Creativate Retreat was AMAZING, as always!! If you have never registered for the Creativate Retreats, you're missing out! They are so full of creative inspiration! And it was so fun to be able to accomplish all the challenges! So, you will be seeing all my projects in the next week or so. I can't wait to share all the fun... and in no particular order. My next project was created for Sharon's Project 2 - a fun fold card. Sharon didn't have a specific name for this fun fold, but it is a "fun" card! I created my "Birthday" fun fold card using Stampin' Up! Modern Garden Stamp Set, Modern Oval Punch, Irresistible Blooms Dies (for the leaves) and Garden Walk DSP. For my card base, I used Pretty Peacock cardstock. This is how the card looks opened up. The Garden Walk DSP is so pretty! I had to add it on my envelope flap as well. The sentiment was stamped using Pretty Peacock ink and die cut using the Modern Oval Punch, which was adhered to the card front with dimensionals. The flowers were stamped with Wild Wheat, Poppy Parade & Pretty Peacock inks and fussy cut. The leaves are from the Irresistible Blooms Dies. They were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. The embellishments are Blooming Pearls. The ribbon is Basic White Herringbone Ribbon. I looped it once and adhered it to the card front before adding the sentiment/flowers. This card doesn't open up flat, but it's a perfect card to display anywhere. Inside my card, I stamped the flowers and leaves in the lower corner. The sentiment was stamped using Pretty Peacock ink and additional group of mini flowers were stamped using Poppy Parade ink near the sentiment. This week's Colour Creations blog hop features Calypso Coral, a pinky-orange that I don't gravitate towards often, but love the brightness of! I couldn't resist showcasing some of the gorgeous soon-to-be-released Garden Walk Designer Series Papers, that feature Calypso Coral. The papers, and the co-ordinating Modern Garden stamp set I have used, will be available to purchase from 6th September. I have used three different patterned papers from the Garden Walk DSP pack. On Basic White card, I stamped three flowers in Calypso Coral ink - first stamping the solid flower image "stamped off", then over-stamping the inner detail full strength. I stamped leaves in Garden Green ink, stamped off because I thought full strength looked too dark. After fussy-cutting the flowers and leaves together, I glued two of them down, and adhered the middle flower on Stampin' Dimensionals, to sit over the Calypso Coral Braided Linen Trim (also available 6th September). The sentiment was stamped in Calypso Coral ink, after I'd stamped a few tiny flowers and leaves (stamped off to give a more subtle impression) around it. I used the Double Oval Punch to punch out the sentiment, and the mat behind it. The scalloped oval was punched from a piece of Garden Green paper from the Fresh As A Daisy DSP pack. I inked the edges of this outer oval with Garden Green ink. Here's a closer look at the paper that I think is my favourite design in the Garden Walk DSP pack. Isn't it pretty? I added some Calypso Coral Ombre Matte Decorative Dots to a few flower centres on the paper, leaving my stamped flowers with white centres to pop a bit more. Today I have four cards to share with you. All made the same way, featuring the Garden Walk DSP in the Mini. This DSP is one of my very favorite DSP's in the catalog. It's stunning! I used four different colors for my card bases and two different inks. You could easily simplify these cards and use one color ink and cardstock. I started with four sheets of DSP, different patterns each 5 1/4" x 4". On the left side I made a mark at 1" and 3". On the right side I made a mark at 2" and 4". Then I cut diagonally connecting the top marks on each side and the bottom marks on each side. You'll be left with three pieces of DSP from each sheet of paper. From here you just mix and match on each card base. It's so easy to do and you'll end up with a stack of cards that are all stunning! Use DSP from the same package so they all coordinate well together. To finish all my cards I punched out a greeting from the Throughout The Year Set with the Modern Oval Punch. I added Lost Lagoon Ribbon behind all of the greetings before adhering to my cards. Each card is finished with an embellishment. I used a variety of them to complete my cards. Hello Peeps !!! Happy Thursday !!! I finally got the chance to post today. My days have been so busy lately just doing stuff around the house. I am posting this card that I did in my class using the Modern Garden stamp set. I cut 2-1/2" out of the 4-1/4 x 11" c/s. I used the cut Basic White for my frame. I used 2 leaves that I die cut then added the flowers in Balmy Blue and Night of Navy to match my designer paper. I glued the Balmy blue c/s on the inside of my card and just embellished with rhinestones. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by. Today I am sharing my version of November 2023 Sheetload of Cards from Call Me Crafty Al. This month the template you can make 8 handmade cards with four 6” x 6” sheets of pattern paper and some cardstock. Each month Alicia from Call Me Crafty Al designs a fun template to create multiple handmade cards. Her designs are always fun and easy to use. Here are some of the other patterns in the pack of paper. One thing I love is that this paper can be used all year long as it has great designs for Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. I also used coordinating colors for the die cuts on my cards. I pulled in some extra colors like Soft Sea Foam, Old Olive, Boho Blue & Petal Pink. The Stamp Set I used is the Timeless Charm Set which did have a coordinating Die Set called Timeless Charm Dies. I also used the Timeless Arrangements Dies for the center of the card. I used a 2 3/8” circle punch for the vellum. I love the layout of this card. It is fresh and fun. I have a quick tip to share on how to easy apply the strips that run across the card. First, add the triangle pieces to the top left and bottom right area like it shows in the template. Second, lay the strips in the center with even spacing between them. Next, add a piece of washi tape over all the strips, I place it on one side rather than in the middle. Lift up each strip and add adhesive underneath. The Washi Tape will hold it in place. Repeat for all the strips. Remove the Washi Tape and add adhesive to the other side of each strip. All Done! I'm here today to bring you my card for the NEW challenge we have over at Just Add Ink Challenges - Just Add Ink #673 - Just Choose Two Challenge. Today for our Just Choose Two challenge (to choose two items to feature on your project) we are choosing from Doors, Windows and Flowers. Flowers was a given for me as I love creating with just about anything floral but my other item to feature was a bit harder to choose. I went with Window but not using an acual image of a window but making a window in my card by making a Split Window Card. I've used a Calypso Coral card base and then for the flower element I've used the Stampin' Up! Garden Wallk DSP. This is stunning DSP and there is something in it for everyone. The flowers around the side of the window have also been fussy cut from the Garden Walk DSP. I've finished off the card with the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon (which I cut in half), some Linen Thread and some Blooming Pearls. There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'two' elements they all used this week and then while you are there you can see how you can enter your project. Can't wait to see what 'two' you used.
