Thank you for joining me as we count down to the next MFT release. We are five days away from the big day! All the new Stamps, Die-namics, and Stencils will be available on Tuesday, March 3 at 10:00pm EST. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog to see all the new items being revealed today. Don't forget to leave a comment on the MFT Blog. Countdown posts, YOU could win one of the five $75.00 gift vouchers. I have two cards to share with you today, they both feature the gorgeous new Circle Scribble Flowers stamp set and Circle Scribble Die-namics from Lisa Johnson. I LOVE these sets! I stamped the flowers on Daffodil, Orange Zest, and Ripe Raspberry card stock in Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, and I embossed them with white embossing powder. The flowers were then die-cut with the Circle Scribble Flowers Die-namics. The stitched panel was die-cut with the new Blueprints 23 Die-namics. The sentiments on the card are from the new Totally Happy stamp set. This set is FULL of fabulously happy sentiments. For my second card, I stamped the flowers on a piece of Smooth White card stock. The flowers were stamped in Tickled Pink and Ripe Raspberry, and Daffodil and Orange Fizz Premium Dye Ink. The stems and leaves were stamped in Field Day and Timber Green Premium Dye Ink. I found it easier to stamp the solid part of the flowers first and then the scribble portion. Did you notice the sweet little happy die-cut? That's one of three dies in the new Happy Trio Die-namics. This is the new Free with $60 set! On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Totally Happy stamp set. As a final touch, I added one more scribble flower. Thanks so much for joining me today. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog to see all the gorgeous creations the Design Team has to share with you. Thanks for stopping by for MFT's March Release Rewind - Part 2! The MFT Team has another two days of inspiration for you using newly released products that are available HERE NOW. You can stop by the MFT Blog for the list of all the designers sharing projects today. My first card uses the new Stay Tuned Stamp Set and the new Television Die-namics. I created the pattern on the top half of the card with stamps included in the Stay Tuned Stamp Set. I used two new Premium Dye Inks released this month, After Midnight and Cranberry Cocktail, and the third ink is the Delicata Silver Ink Pad. On the bottom half of the card I stamped the new Small Brick Background Stamp in Cranberry Cocktail Premium Dye Ink on Cranberry Cocktail Card Stock. I used Steel Gray Card Stock for the television and Ranger Silver Foil Card Stock for the center rim. The screen background and sentiments are stamped with the Stay Tuned Stamp Set. Here's a look at the inside, including another sentiment from the stamp set. Then I added a spot for a gift card with the Gift Card Grooves Die-namics. The background on my second card is done with the Diagonal Stripes Stencil with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I used the new Blueprints 23 to added the Smooth While Card Stock strip down the center and the scalloped edges. The leaves are stamped with the new Circle Scribble Flowers Stamp Set in Limelight Premium Dye Ink and outlined with Gumdrop Ink Premium Dye Ink. To create the flowers I used the new Circle Scribble Flower and Scribble Die-namics. The word sentiment is from the Happy Trio Die-namics, this month Free with $60. Scribble Circle is a 4" x 4" stamp set that includes 5 individual stamps. Use the scribble circle as a sun, as a background to ground a floating image, or just as a fun accent on a card. For size reference, the scribble circle image is approximately 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". Scribble Circle includes handwritten "hey" and "hi" sentiments as well as an exclamation point. After ink distressing and water spattering a piece of watercolor card stock, I attached a large Bold Blossom and leaf, together with a hand cut stem. The sentiment is from a very old American Crafts stamp set and finished off with a few black enamel dots. Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It’s time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge, and this week, Joan has challenged us to use green, orange, yellow and gray! I immediately thought…”masculine”. I pulled out the darling MSTN Bionic Bots and MSTN Bionic Bots Die-namics for my card, and I cut him from X-Press It Blending Card and stamped him with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I colored him with Copic Markers and then coated him with my Clear Wink of Stella Brush Marker to make him super shiny! I popped him up with Jody Boosters onto a panel of Sweet Tooth Card Stock cut with the Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics. I stamped “Programming Happy Times Ahead” using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink under him and then added a star cut from Lemon Drop Card Stock cut with the Stitched Star STAX Die-namics. I used the Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics again to cut the panel of patterned paper from the Painted Prints Citrus Paper Pack, and the main panel of Cement Gray Prestige Card Stock was cut with Blueprints 13 Die-namics which I stamped using the new Circle Scribbles Background using Cement Gray Premium Dye Ink. Hi, everyone, welcome to this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges! It’s sketch week and Lynn has a fun one for us this week. Obviously, I flipped it, but other than that I stayed pretty true to the sketch. I started with a Primitive Cream card stock base, then stamped up some Kraft card stock with Versamark and On the Diagonal Background. I cut that out with Blueprints 23 Die-namics, added some Black Licorice strips on either side, and popped it up on foam mounting tape. I added some LJD Circle Scribble Flowers Die-namics cut from Daffodil card stock, Ripe Raspberry card stock, Summer Splash card stock, and Sour Apple card stock, stamped with LJD Circle Scribble Flowers and Black Licorice dye ink. I popped them up on foam, as well. The sentiment is from Friends Like Us and was stamped on Black Licorice card stock with Sweet Tooth Pigment ink and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, then popped up on foam mounting tape. I finished off with some enamel dots. Another sentiment from Friends Like Us was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink. And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you, including our April Guest Designer, Vicki Burdick! Anja de Regt Barbara Anders (
I ordered two of the new Altenew sets from the latest release and I was playing around with them the other day. This one uses Bamboo Rose and the sentiment is from Floral Shadows. I embossed the roses in white, and coloured with Zigs, in the colours of flamingos, to link up with Altenew's August Inspiration Challenge.

From the preface: This little ebook is not jazzy or slick in any way. It is, in fact, a small step up from the scribble in my notebook. However, within its pages one may find reputation makers and religion starters. This book is not full of amazing new methods. The routines within utilize methods that you (probably) already know. What you are about to read is an application of these methods that will take your audiences to a whole new level. You should know, before delving in, that my professional/scholastic training is born out of the theatre. I am very theatrical and this is why my audiences often cry a little when I perform. Don't worry about this now, but I will take you there. Contents: The Parking Lot Act: A gaggle of people are congregated outside a bookstore in the parking lot. A section of the bookstore is chosen, as is the aisle and book and page. A "spectator" then takes this info, freely chosen by your parking lot (non stooged) participants and pulls a book off of a shelf, based on his or her directions, and memorizes a word. When that person exits the store with that word in mind they can speak it out loud or keep it to themself. That person is given the appropriate fundage to open the adjacent newspaper machine. The chosen word is seen to be circled in permanent red ink. Card Through Person: Just what it sounds like. Rapport Apport: A card trick. Yep. Two people think of the same card and then are brought to a breathtaking moment of revelation. Clock: A person thinks of a time. They then hold out their hand as though they were standing in the middle of a clock. You guide them in circles to discern the time and then the hour. This is not muscle reading. Also, as with anything in this book, it works 100% of the time. Australia: A very personal event that will bring your audience members to tears. Don promises you this. But you do need to know the BCS or at least the Si Stebbins or 8 Kings to pull this off. The Pirate Seance: Mr. Callahan graciously helped Don with this one. Dose not have to be a pirate I suppose, but you will use mass hallucination and induce everyone in your audience into believing that they were witnesses toga gruesome murder scene from over a hundred years before they were born. So why not use a pirate? Teardrop: Don is not going to say anything about this part. It is the one contribution that he has to give that he is confident will revolutionize mentalism from now on. Bonus Effect: Cat's Eye: How to read the mind of an (any) animal. Opinions: "I'm seriously impressed with your presentational approaches to the art of mentalism as offered in Teardrop. These are great ideas...and every effect is worthy of consideration for any performer. I'm also seriously humbled that you included my name on your list of Thanks. So thank you for putting me on your 'short list'. I was truly moved by the storyline behind 'Australia' and would enjoy seeing you expound with effect proposals for the Teardrop effect. Providing the actor's method for crying-on-demand is genius and I can't wait to see how you will exploit this idea further. For a first time effort, you've knocked this one out of the ballpark. You have done a great job with this manuscript." - Mick Ayres "These are real world workers he has developed with mentorship from big name mentalist and magicians. It would seem he is an excellent mentee in that he created some excellent wonderful pieces... From updating classics with fresh new twists (Corinda on Redbull level)...to really wild bits (Card through Person! Yeah!)...to teaching you the power of the Teardrop...or how to add an emotional punch under your control...using techniques from other areas of the dramatic arts...It is here!" - Bruce Ballon "I've tried to write a review for this three times today and stopped each time because I felt I couldn't come up with the right words to do this work justice. I've decided instead to write exactly what I sent to Don. I received this late last night (2:30AM) and immediately digested it. After finishing - I found myself lying in bed silently...thinking about all of the possibilities this could bring not only to mentalism and performance - but to theatre. I lie there smiling with my brain buzzing with all of these positive vibes of energy coming from a talented little performer from Florida...I didn't sleep until almost 5AM. This is really stuff that is going to make your spectators cry. No hype here. We should all support Don Theo. Enough of that support now will nourish a very creative mind in the future. A future I would like to see a lot more from." - Justin Gentry 1st edition 2008; 20 pages. word count: 19354 which is equivalent to 77 standard pages of text
Hi, everyone! Welcome to this month’s Creative Construction With Blueprints Design Team Challenge! We love Blueprints because they take the guesswork out of crafting beautiful cards in quick fashion when we’re short on time or inspiration. We also love them for their versatility and ability to be mixed and matched when we have the time and inspiration to create something truly unique. Our Creative Construction Challenge focuses on these attributes each month, challenging the team to both assemble a card based on one of the provided Blueprints sketches as well as design an original card combining elements from the featured Blueprints. Wonky panels are trickier to execute than they might appear at first glance. This month’s challenge focuses on Blueprints 15 and Blueprints 18 that make creating die-cut panels with a little sass to them quick and easy For my first card, I’m using a sketch from Blueprints 18 Die-namics. I started with a Black Licorice card stock base, then added a layer of Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Sheet Music Background and Black Licorice dye ink. Next I cut my wonky panel from Ranger Watercolor Paper and did a water color wash using Summer Splash dye ink refill, Limelight dye ink refill, and Daffodil dye ink refill, popped up on foam mounting tape. Next up is Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics, also popped up on foam, and LJD Scribbles Die-namics, cut from gold mirror paper. I cut and stamped LJD Blissful Butterflies Die-namics and LJD Blissful Butterflies on Sweet Tooth card stock with Black Licorice dye ink and adhered it to the circle element. The sentiment was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock and slipped under the circle. The button die was cut 5 times and adhered together for dimension, then tied with baker’s twine and adhered. I finished off with some black and gold glitter enamel dots. Another sentiment from the set was stamped on the inside and overstamped with a butterfly with Summer Splash dye ink. ***** My next card uses elements from both of the featured Blueprints Die-namics sets. This card started with a Grout Gray card stock base. Next I cut some Blue Breeze card stock with the large wonky panel from Blueprints 15 Die-namics and created my clouds using Cloudy Day Stencil and white embossing paste, then popped that panel up on foam mounting tape. I cut my sun, from Sun, Moon, & Stars Die-namics and Lemon Chiffon card stock, then sponged ink to create more color using Daffodil dye ink, Orange Fizz Dye ink, and Orange Zest dye ink. Before I popped it up on foam, I spritzed it well with MIX-ables Sheer Shimmer Mist. I hope you can see the shimmer in this photo: Next I added clouds, cut from Cloud Cover-Up Die-namics. I cut three flags with a die from Blueprints 18 Die-namics, one from Orange Zest card stock stamped with LJD Darling Dots and Sweet Tooth pigment ink, one from Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Striped Backgrounds and Black Licorice ink, and one from Black Licorice card stock, stamped with a sentiment from Blue Skies Ahead and Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder. I popped them up on foam and finished off with some enamel dots and sequins, Another sentiment from Blue Skies Ahead was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink. And there you have it! The Creation Station Design and Blog Hop is back this month! I was beyond thrilled to be asked to join this group of talented women for a monthly blog hop to inspire you with creative top of the line projects with a theme from all around the globe! We hope that you hop thru each blog and leave comments as we all love to hear praise about our creations! This month our theme was "Get Well" which lately I have been needing in abundance. Well once I got started then I could not stop, so continue on and see what I came up with! Some of my favorite things on this card: The water colored dotted pattern paper from the Fruit Stand DSP in Flirty Flamingo. The striped Watermelon Wonder washi tape from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape. The Sunshine Sayings Bundle where I used the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set and greeting word from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Die Cut in Peekaboo Peach Ink on 2" circle punch of Whisper White Cardstock. Then added the three butterflies in Watermelon Wonder Cardstock and finished with the Solid Baker's Twine and Metallic Sequins in in Basic Black. Some of my favorite things on this card: The Thoughtful Branches Bundle is clearly a winner! Have you seen all the samples out there? Why not one more? The flower blooms are die cut out of Whisper White Cardstock. I then cut the stem with leaves out of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock and sponged with Always Artichoke Ink. I also stamped the leaves stamp on the Sahara Sand Cardstock card base. I added the strip of Serene Scenery DSP to the one side. The greeting comes from Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set and stamped in Bermuda Bay Ink. For a punch of bright color, I added the Crushed Curry enamel heart shape and the Crushed Curry Baker's Twine. Some of my favorite things on this card: The poor doggie...created with the Fox Builder Punch and Soft Suede Cardstock, I just adore him. His ears are made from one of the parts in the punch. Then I punch Vellum Cardstock with the 2" Circle Punch. Ah yes, the cone of shame! LOL Another image from the Foxy Friends Stamp Set is the quote bubble with hearts that I stamped on and with Watermelon Wonder. The raindrop pattern background is from the A Little Foxy DSP Stack. The best part is the Labeler Alphabet Photopolymer Stamp Set! You could make up any greetings you want! The Solid Whisper White Baker's Twine completes the card. Some of my favorite things on this card: This card is too funny! My friend Susan said it looked like a muppet character and then I began to think it might start talking to me! I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies with Emerald Envy cardstock, Watermelon Wonder Cardstock and Basic Black Cardstock. You cut just a part of the largest scribble to get the frowning mouth. I stamped the Here for You Stamp Set in both colors and placed both on the front of the card. To finish, embossed the Smoky Slate Cardstock with the Polka Dot TIEF and add Basic Black Baker's Twine. So there you have it! Four very different Get Well cards! Thanks for stopping by my post for the Creations Station Blog Hop! Inspire. Create. Share. That's what I love to do. Welcome to day 2 of Release Rewind featuring newly released products from My Favorite Things. The MFT Design Team is on hand with more inspiration from the latest release. Visit the MFT Blog for complete details. I have two completely different cards to share with you, one featuring the Scribbles Die-namics and the other featuring that adorable kitty set, I Knead You. I'm guessing this is what our kitty-cats do all day, waiting for our return... I had a little fun with the fish bones stamp as a skinny border strip layered just above the sentiment. Sort of like the chalk tray under the blackboard, right? The inside is finished with another fish bones stamp and single sentiment. I Knead You - cracks.me.up. Do you love these Scribbles as much as I do? I decided to off-set them just a tish, rather than lining them up perfectly. Either way, they're gorgeous! I finished the inside with sentiments from Totally Happy. The end. Thanks for stopping by today! I'm off on a crafty weekend, so I'm sure I'll have something to share with you next week. Welcome to Day 5 of MFT's March Release Countdown! New stamp sets, new Die-namics, new stencils, and five new pretty colors of card stock and inks will all be available on March 3rd at 10:00 PM EST. I have a couple of cards to share with you today. My first project features the new Lisa Johnson Stamp Set, Circle Scribble Flowers, along with the coordinating Circle Scribble Flowers and Scribbles Die-namics. I cut the front panel from watercolor paper with a die in Blueprints 8 and then just watercolored the background with the Banana Split Premium Dye Ink Refill. I created the frame with the new Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Square STAX Die-namics cut from Wild Wisteria Prestige Card Stock. The sentiment is from the new Totally Happy Stamp Set and cut out with the Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics. To create each of the flowers I stamped the flower, cut it out with the Circle Scribble Flowers Die-namics and then used the Scribbles Die-namics to add the detail. I used Premium Dye Ink and Card Stock in Wild Wisteria, Lemon Chiffon, and Ripe Raspberry. For the leaves I used Sour Apple Card Stock, stamped the detail with Gumdrop Green Premium Dye Ink, and added some highlights with a Copic Marker. On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the Totally Happy Stamp Set. My second card is put together quickly and easily with the new Blueprints 23 Die-namics. The front panel is cut from Peach Bellini Prestige Card Stock. The sentiment is included in the new Totally Happy Stamp Set. To create my own patterned paper I used the Circle Scribble Flowers Stamp Set. I stamped a variety of different sized flowers and leaves with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink on Smooth White Card Stock, and embossed with white embossing powder. Then using a sponge dauber I added the color, using two different ink colors in the same color family on each flower. (Links to the inks are listed below). I added the sequins with a die in Blueprints 23. I used a white glitter paper from my stash and sponged on Ripe Raspberry Dye Ink so that the sequins matched the card.

To learn more about saturation, be sure to visit this post at the My Favorite Things blog. This challenge features intense hues to inspire you — Blueberry, Peach Bellini, Persimmon, and Green Room. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this color combination and be sure to link your project below for a chance at a My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20. Your MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team is here again with six inspiring cards using this color palette. Let's see what has been going on in their creative minds. Alice got inventive with the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up Die-namics. What a clever way to use just portions of the cover-up to feature the four colors from MFT Color Challenge 27! Erin Lee created a mug full of fresh poppies and layed them against a neutral striped background. I love how she situated the stripes horizontally to give the mug a place to rest. It almost appears like it's sitting on the kitchen windowsill. Jill used the Fringe Die-namics to feature the colors, and her ingenious use of the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics adds a subtle curve to the fringe. The only neutral she used was gold and a tiny bit of white stitching giving this design a super saturated look. Miriam took the two shades of orange as a chance to create pretty flowers with the Scribble Roses stamp set and Die-namics. The Green Room leaves are a logical next step, and the orange flowers look perfect on a Blueberry background — the complementary color of orange. Well played! Vera created SUCH a pretty background by using the four colors in conjunction with the Blissful Blooms stamp set. The jaunty angle of the sentiment gives this card a fresh and unexpected look. Veronica shows another SUPER inventive way to create using the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up. Once she die cut the background, she stamped on it to give it some depth, and then she eliminated the negative portions of the die. Next she layered it over a rectangle in her signature layering style. Top it all of with a pretty butterfly and lush roses, and the colors become the star of the show! Congratulations, Mandy LaCroix! Happy Wednesday, friends! We're coming at you with another great sketch to get your creative juices flowing. We hope you'll take the time to participate in this week's challenge. Below you'll find Sketch 242. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20. Say hello once again to Danielle Flanders our August Guest Designer. We're so glad that she's been able to fit some MFT time into her busy schedule! Danielle has an eye for pretty things. With two little girls, she loves to fill her house with all sorts of girly things. You can definitely see that portrayed in her lovely designs. If you're on Pinterest, you can follow Danielle to see the things she's pinning — from sewing to photography to all sorts of glorious paper crafting techniques, there's much to inspire on Danielle's boards. And while you're at it, be sure to follow My Favorite Things for all of your favorite products used in clever and fantastic ways! Let's look at how Danielle interpreted this week's sketch: The beauty of this week's sketch is its simplicity allowing a myriad of interpretations. Danielle stamped the sentiment from the Encouraging Words stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder to create a resist. She then lightly traced an oval with pencil around the sentiment to resemble the oval in the sketch and watercolored over the white embossed sentiment inside the oval. For the rest of the card, she created her own background with watercolor pencils. The leaves were drawn with a green pencil first, then the little flowers colored with various watercolor pencils. Finally she used a tiny bit of water on a clean brush to smooth out the flowers and add a yellow background in the spaces between the flowers. What a lovely result! The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 242! Alice shifted the meat of the sketch to the right and used the doily as the oval of the sketch. It's a perfect place to feature the Coffee Cup Die-namics stamped and colored BEAUTIFULLY with florals from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set. Erin Lee interpreted the oval as a festive balloon which she cut with the adorable patterned paper from the Dots & Stripes Fresh paper pack. The cute bear takes the place of the circle in the sketch. You'll notice he is on the right of her card rather than the left because he is then looking in to the design. Jill concentrated on the circle and flag of the sketch in this die cut dream. Though there is no oval to be seen, the arrows of the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up Die-namics give the illusion of an oval, and the word bubble and sentiment give an extra dose of fun to her design. And does anyone else's wrist ache a little bit just thinking about all of the die cutting that Jill did? I thought so. Miriam used the oval to highlight a lovely Hawaiian princess from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set. She sticks pretty closely to the sketch with her sentiment and pretty flowers emulating the circle and flag of the original sketch. Vera put the Tiki Hut Die-namics to work as the oval of the sketch, and she turned the sketch on its side to accommodate her fresh and sunny scene. The sentiment is shrunk and shifted to the right, but her enamel dot gives a nod to the circle in the sketch. Veronica pulls off a lovely design with lots of delicious background stamping on her oval and the card base. The circle becomes the perfect spot for a sweet bouquet of pretty roses, and the sentiment tops off this special creation. Congratulations, Wanda Cullen!
