I can hardly believe that December is actually here! Christmas too will be here before we know it. How many of you are ready?! Not I. Well, for this months Papertrey Ink Senior Design Team Challenge our focus is on the fast approaching holidays by putting Vintage Ornaments and Vintage Ornaments Additions to good use. I have yet to acquire the Additions set, but today I bring to you a fun embossing idea using Vintage Ornaments... Here's a coordinating card and tag in a color combo of Soft Stone, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss and Pure Poppy.First up the card. I started with a die cut Half & Half strip, stamped it with a Vintage Ornament sentiment and attached to the card with dimensional adhesive.Check out these hand made frosted glass ornaments, created from cardstock and clear embossing powder. Here's How: I die cut the ornaments from white cardstock, stamped the icing (in Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist) and then heat embossed the solid ornament image using clear powder.Next up... the tag. I started by trimming, stamping and attaching a sentiment strip to a Soft Stone tag. Then, using the same technique as above, I stamped, embossed and attached the ornament.Next step was to attach the ribbon tab. Here's How: Thread twine through the button, then thread twine ends through the hole at the top of the tag. Flip the tag over, place the ribbon and tie securely into place with the twine ends. Here's a nice shot of the frosted glass look. I finished the tag off with a couple die cut Spring Moss holly leaves, one stamped with Background Basics: Circles and the other with Background Basics: Gingham. Well, that's it from me today. Now be sure to visit the other Papertrey Ink Senior Design Team girls for more Vintage Ornaments goodness... Dawn McVey Betsy Veldman Heather Nichols Lisa Johnson Thanks for stopping by today! Happy April everyone! We are enjoying an earlier than normal spring here in Minnesota - I hardly know what to do with all of the plants coming up in my yard this early! Today is the Papertrey Ink senior design...
Since the Papertrey Ink June release is over, I've got a bunch of cards to share with you today. So let me get started!...First up, a simple yet elegant card using Tag-its #5 by Heather Nichols (which happens to be my favorite of this series so far!).I stamped the doily circle in lavender moon, the flower bunch in Plum Pudding and a sentiment in True Black. Mounted the stamped circle onto a Mat Stack #5, which was impressed with the new Damask Design Impression Plate.Next, a creation using Daydreamer by Nichole Heady. Started this card by stamping the grassy image, in Versamark, onto a kraft card base.Created a focal image by stamping a the grassy image and two stems, in Spring Moss, onto a die cut Sending You frame. Stamped the flower tops in lavender moon, one directly onto the frame and the other I stamped, cut out and attach with dimensional adhesive. Then wrapped with ribbon and embellished with rhinestones. Then stamped the sentiment in True Black. Here's a card perfect for the party animal in your life, using It's A Jungle Out There by Dawn McVey. I impressed a Soft Stone card base with the Animal Prints Impression Plate.Stamped the zebra in True Black and topped him off with a Raspberry Fizz party hat.How about a little Flower Fusion #5, by Melissa Bickford, fun!I stamped the flower tops, in True Black, and then drew a few stems by hand with a black marker. Hand cut a few leaves and attached with dimensional adhesive. Finished the card of with a sentiment and a few colorful buttons in Orange Zest, Raspberry Fizz & Harvest Gold. Here's a simple card using Lizzie Jones' new Rhythm & Soul set.I stamped the guitar images in Chai Vintage Touch ink and a sentiment (from Embellishments) in Hawaiian Shores ink onto Rustic Cream cardstock. Attached a strip of Basic Grey Sweet Threads pattern paper and embellished with a stitch button and wrapped twine.Last but not lease, another stunning set by Nichole Heady, Mehndi Medallion. The sentiments are from Gracious Vases.Stamped panels in Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise & Enchanted Evening, onto white cardstock. Mounted the panels onto a Soft Stone card base and wrapped with Enchanted Evening Baker's Twine. That's it from me today. Thanks for stopping by and have a great one! Maile
Hi everyone. Today I tried out a technique I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog. She embossed onto vellum and colored her image with markers, using a soft cloth to blend the inks. The only difference is that I colored on the front of the image so that the colors were more vibrant. I love how it turned out. I made a few of the flowers and leaves (leaves are simply stamped in ink and fussy cut), so also made a tag (below). This card is for the latest challenge at Simon Says Stamp - Emboss It! ... and for SCS Free For All Challenge (F4A230 - bright and beautiful) from last week (just catching up!). The colors used for the flower are bright (orange, pink and red). And the tag below is for a couple of challenges ... Tag, You're It! Challenge #2 - to create a CAS tag inspired by Lauren Bassen's beautiful tag (I kept the same colors and used a grid for my background, along with vellum accents) ... and for SCS Mix-ability Challenge #78 - summer tags (I used markers for coloring the vellum, and sponged ink for the background grid). Here's the tag ... Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral (SU!); Lots of Thanks (Simon Says); A Little Sentimental (Clearly Besotted) Paper: White; Vellum (Bazzill) Ink: Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Smoky Slate (SU!) Accessories & Tools: White embossing powder, heat tool, soft cloth, harlequin stencil, sponge, Tangerine Tango 1/4" satin ribbon Challenges: Simon Says - Emboss It! SCS Free for All #230 Tag, You're It! - #2 SCS Mix-ability #78
Hi there! Today I’m back with Papertrey Ink to share my final release projects with you. All of the new product that I’m sharing today will be available tonight in the Papertrey Ink sto…
I have some new news. Maybe you've already seen it. I'm kinda freaking out a little. Here is a little story... So, I'm on the treadmill the other day and figured I would check my email. (Obviously not going that fast but don't tell anyone.) I started skimming through and briefly saw an email saying Papertrey Ink. When I first saw it, I thought it was a newsletter. So I scrolled. Then I gasped....pretty much fell off the treadmill, quickly regained my footing and then attempted to scroll back up to find what I had just skimmed past. (Do you have a good visual? Go ahead and laugh.) The email was from Nichole Heady....asking me to join the Papertrey Ink Design Team. WHAT? Me? NO way. I emailed her back to tell her YES and also to share with her, my reaction when I saw her email... First, I gasped. (Insert close call with the treadmill story) Then I laughed out of nervousness. Next, I checked to see if this wasn't spam....or a joke. hehe! Then I screamed, called my husband and started blubbering to him like a fool. Really? Me?! I had to process all of this and still am, really. But I also knew that with a spot opening on the DT, that meant someone amazing would be leaving. Then I found out it was Cristina. She and I said years ago, we were stamping soul mates. She is such an amazing person and so talented. I am incredibly proud of her and so happy for her new adventure but so sad to see her go. Not to mention, incredibly nervous and pretty much terrified because there is NO way I will ever come close to filling those talented shoes of hers! I am extremely excited to be joining the girls at PTI. They are all so talented and bring such amazing inspiration each month. I hope I can show up with half the creativity they bring! I know I will learn a lot from them! I want to say thank you to Nichole for this hugely awesome invitation! Definitely a dream come true. I thought I would look back through Flickr and share some favorite PTI cards from the past several years. I couldn't narrow it down to a few, so I put a bunch in. Sorry, it may be photo overload! Thanks for stopping by today so I could share my fun news with you!

Hey everyone! Thanks for joining me today, for the March Papertrey Ink Senior DT challenge. This time around we are bringing back Friends 'Til the End! It's been fun pulling out this unique and lovely set. Friends 'Til the End is a timeless set. It's in a class of its own, one that can fit into pretty much any different style. Today, my projects are done more in a trendy/modern style, incorporating a touch of gold. And this set gets the job done just right. Have a look!... First, my inspiration found here. For today's little duo, I found inspiration via the pink and gold combo. As well as the polka dots on the very pretty bowl above. A simple and modern card with fun elements and techniques all over it. Just the way I like 'em. The large Friends 'Til the End flower was stamped in pigment gold ink and then heat embossed in gold powder onto some sweet blush pattern paper. A couple of glitter tape strips were tucked under the flower panel. Then two cardstock strips were trimmed at two different widths. The wider strip was heat embossed with a sentiment and then attached with some dimensional adhesive. The smaller strip was adhered directly to the flower panel, for more of a flush look. Last (but not least) the tag. This sweet tag was created in a very smiler fashion as the card. Here's How: Three tags were die cut using the Tag Sale #5 die. One from pattern paper and two from white cardstock. The pattern paper and one white tag were both trimmed into two pieces and then reassembled back onto the remaining die cut tag. The large flower was then stamped and heat embossed in gold. A circle was punched from some gold glitter tape and place onto the flower center. Then the tag was finished off with a sentiment strip and tied with some silk ribbon. Well, that's it from me today. Now be sure to visit the other Papertrey Ink senior design team girls for more Friends 'Til the End goodness... Dawn McVey Betsy Veldman Heather Nichols Melissa Phillips Thanks for stopping by today! Hi everyone! Can you believe another month has rolled around and it's time to reveal the March release at Papertrey Ink?! We have 4 days of reveals then release day will be Tuesday, March 26. Today, we are introducing you to Pro Stamper's Box: March 2024 and Just Notes stamps, stencils, dies + Love to Layer: Notebook dies. I really love the new line that PTI is introducing called Pro Stamper's Box. This first one is really lovely with fun background elements, frames, beautiful simple flowers and awesome sentiment dies! I cut doubles of the frame and sentiment to make them more sturdy and to add dimension. STAMPS: Pro Stamper's Box: March 2024. INK: Villainous Potion distress oxide; Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado. PAPER: Stampers Select White, Amethyst Allure. DIES: Pro Stamper's Box: 2024. OTHER: Raindrop embellishments; Stitched Rectangle STAX die. This Just Notes set is so much fun to assemble! Who needs to buy washi tape when you can just stamp different patterned strips and then tear them into whatever size you need?! It's hard to see in the photo but, I silver embossed the clip so it looks metallic. I aged the edges of the notebook die cut layer (it's a really fun set with 3 different sizes of notebook paper!) by using a distressing tool and also by curling up the corner. STAMPS: Just Notes. INK: Pure Poppy, Harvest Gold, Honey Nut, Aqua Mist, Weathervane, True Black; Versamark. PAPER: Stampers Select White, Bitty Bi: Pure Poppy; Patterned paper by Recollections. DIES: Just Notes, Love to Layer; Notebook. OTHER: Silver embossing powder; Staples; Stitched Rectangle STAX die. Another card using the fun elements in this set! STAMPS: Just Notes. INK: Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Sweet Blush, Classic Kraft, Pure Poppy, True Black. PAPER: Silver metallic; Stampers Select White, Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores. DIES: Just Notes, Border Bling: TIn Stitch. OTHER: Stitched Rectangle STAX dies; Enamel dots. SUPPLIES That's it for day one reveals. Stay tuned for some incredible new florals and Mother's Day items tomorrow! ~Wanda
The girl was not competent to perform them herself, not having served with the installation before, whereas I have witnessed the unit rituals of the Windows 8 on many a campaign.
I used every Flower Fusion set that I have. ;) PTI Cardstock - SS White PTI ink - Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Plum Pudding PTI Dies - Flower Fusion #1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, Stem PTI Stamps - Flower Fusion #1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, Faith & Hope Other - Twine

It's day #1 of reveals for the January release at Ink to Paper. The USPS held up the design team by "losing" our packages so we were all late getting them. Instead of a release on the 15th, it will be the 20th instead. Today, we are introducing Sprigs & Sprays stamp set and dies + Antique Wishes stamp set and dies + Cake Please stamp set and dies + Delicate Doilies dies. I had a smooshing good time with the background using distress oxide inks! The florals in this set can be paired with a variety of containers from previously released sets and I chose the pitcher from Abundant Blooms. I love that the Cake Please set has 3 different floral or cake "picks" images - birthday, anniversary and baby - making it a fun option for adding a sentiment! STAMPS: Sprigs + Spays, Cake Please, Abundant Blooms INK: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, New Leaf, Ocean Tides, Green Parakeet, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, True Black; Picked Raspberry Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey distress oxide inks (used on background). PAPER: Watercolor, White. DIES: Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Pierced Feature Frames, Sprigs + Sprays, Cake Please, Abundant Blooms. There is an awesome new farmhouse style frame die and stamp set that is so much fun to create with! I chose to stencil Soft Stone ink over Soft Stone paper using the largest Hexagon stencil that can be found in the Papertrey Ink store. It's hard to see the dry embossing of the frame die that gives it added texture. The frame width is 3 3/4" wide which I like as it seems a bit like a small slimline card (length is 5 1/2"). STAMPS: Antique Wishes, Sprigs + Sprays. INK: Soft Stone, True Black, Pale Peony, Sweet Blush; Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather. PAPER: White, Soft Stone. DIES: Antique Wishes, Sprigs + Sprays. OTHER: Hexagon stencil by PTI. My last card for the day uses a really fun cake set that is so versatile for a variety of occasions! I love this new large doily die (it's the largest of three in the set). I used some patterned papers in two of my favorite ITP colors - Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist and dusted off some seam binding that reminded me of my early stamping days when I added ribbon very frequently. STAMPS: Cake Please INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, True Black, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Green Parakeet, Ocean Tides, New Leaf, Simply Chartreuse, Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet PAPER: Bitty Big: Sweet Blush, Bitty Big: Aqua Mist, White DIES: Delicate Doilies, Cake Please OTHER: Seam binding Supplies Don't forget to stop by tomorrow when you'll more new products on the second of four days! ~Wanda
A little corner where I can share my creations with family, friends, and whomever else may happen to stop by. Enjoy!!!
Welcome back to another day of reveals of the June release at Papertrey Ink! Today, we are showing you Vintage Blooms stamps and dies + Inside Greetings: Friendship stamp set + Feathered Friends 24 dies + Just Sentiments: Friendship. Remember the Penciled Outlines I mentioned yesterday? Here you can see two of the stamps that add a fun detail to geometric shapes. I recommend starting with the outline stamp of the flowers and ink them up first. It will make the next several steps much easier to line up! A pop of yellow paired with black and white is one of my fave color combos. STAMPS: Vintage Blooms, Penciled Outlines, Just Sentiments: Friendship INK: Lemon Tart, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, True Black, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Limeade Ice, New Leaf PAPER: Bitty Big: True Black, White DIES: Vintage Blooms, Penciled Outlines OTHER: Stitched rectangle die, Raindrops Next on board is another card using the Vintage Blooms. I color blended four distress inks on the base panel (see supply list below). I then stenciled the script using white pigment ink. I like that's it's very subtle. It's helpful to adhere two of the diagonal skinny frames together to make it more sturdy and easier to adhere to the card. STAMPS: Vintage Blooms, Inside Greetings: Friendship INK: Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick, Dusty Concord (distress inks used for background); True Black, Limeade Ice, Simply Chartreuse, Fresh Snow PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface, White DIES: Vintage Blooms, Skinny Frames: Diagonal Border, Delicate Doilies Next is a fun little corner bookmark that is perfect to use the sweet scroll die that is part of the Vintage Blooms set! I started with a 5" square of patterned paper and scored it in half, turned it and scored another half so that it had four sections. I then cut out one of the four scored squares then on the opposite corner, I cut off half of the square. After folding it together, I cut a plain white square to insert into the folded corner and stamped the sentiment from Graceful Butterflies. I thought this fit so well with the idea of escaping into a good book to go beyond the ordinary! STAMPS: Graceful Butterflies INK: Dark Indigo, Honey Nut PAPER: Bitty Big: Dark Indigo, White, Honey Nut, Dark Indigo, Share Your Heart patterned paper DIES: Vintage Blooms Last, but not least, is the introduction of a new feathered friends die. This toucan is such a fun tropical bird and very easy to put together. Some stenciled dots and splatters add interest to the background. SUPPLIES Stay tuned tomorrow for more of the new release. There will be some really fun new summer stamps and dies you won't want to miss! ~Wanda

It is my day for posting an Inspired By Stamping card. Since Valentine's Day seems to be the trend right now, I went with a Valentine's Day card. I used the new Color Palette challenge over at My Favorite Things. I used the fun digi paper from Spring Lilacs, along with the ticket image from Tickets. Behind the ticket is a small die from Fancy Labels Die 1. I also used a couple of Small Flowers. I'm thinking this works. Thanks for stopping by~
Hello Friends! I am super excited to be guesting on the Wplus9 blog today! I have been a huge fan of Dawn's for several years, ever since I discovered Wplus9. I have a card to share with you today using some gorgeous products that I just love! I don't think I'm the only one who fell head over heels in love with the Free Hand Florals stamp set. I am also using an older set, Lacey Layers, which I've had in my stash for a long time that I dearly love! It's so great for layering and building collage type cards. So for my card, I started by watercoloring the background using a light tan dye ink on watercolor paper. When this was dry, I splattered some more of that same color ink around. I let this dry well. I then stamped two of the medallions from the Lacey Layers set with that same tan dye ink that I used for the watercoloring. I adhered these to my watercolored panel with foam tape. I then stamped the roses in three different shades of pink and the leaves in two shades of green. I cut those out with the matching dies. After arranging them just perfectly, I adhered them with foam tape. The sentiment is from the Strictly Sentiments 2 stamp set. I stamped it in the same tan dye ink that I used on the medallions, and cut it out with a banner die. I adhered this just under my cluster of roses with foam tape. I felt like my card still needed something under the banner for balance, so I added one more bunch of the green leaves just underneath. I adhered this whole panel to an A2 size top folded white card base and added a few clear sequins. I hope you have enjoyed my post today and are inspired to create something beautiful! Thank you so much for stopping by, and a huge thanks to Wplus9 for having me for a guest! Kay :)
It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge and Amy Rohl, our hostess for the week, has chosen a fabulous color palette based on this yummy cake photo! I went very literal with my interpretation and inked up these berries from WPlus9's Fresh Picked stamp set. Here's my take on it... I started with a Ranger watercolor CS base and added a light pink watercolor border using Spun Sugar distress ink (I seem to be addicted to adding watercolor details to all my cards lately 😜). Then, I inked up the strawberries using Festive Berries distress ink and rocked and rolled the edges in Cranberry Crush dye ink by WPlus9. Here's what else I used... STAMPS: Fresh Picked (WPlus9). PAPER: Winter Dots and Stripes by Echo Park, Real Red, Ranger watercolor CS. ACCESSORIES: Fresh Picked dies by WPlus9; Red twine. Congratulations to our guest star stamper - the talented Tenia Nelson! You'll want to stop by her blog and check out her beautiful creation HERE. To get all the details on how to play along with the challenge, please go to the Color Throwdown blog and check out the info on the right sidebar! Can you believe another month has rolled around and we are beginning the reveals of the February release at Papertrey Ink? I think I may have squealed when my package arrived and I saw the awesome new stamps and dies! So...let's get this party started! Today, we are introducing you to Weave a Basket dies + Grassy Edge dies + Spring Greetings stamps set + Vase Collection 7 stamps and dies + Thank You Florals stamps and dies + Delicate Circles dies. Check out this gorgeous basket die where you literally weave the strips yourself! I also love the new grassy border die that can be added to ground the basket. I color blended over a stencil for the card base using Prize Ribbon, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers distress inks and a hexagon stencil. The grassy filler was die cut from vellum. STAMPS: Spring Greetings INK: Prize Ribbon, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough distress inks; Versamark PAPER: Vellum, Bristol Smooth Surface, White, Family Ties patterned paper (Pebbles) DIES: Jar Accessories, Pattern Party, Weave A Basket, Grassy Edges OTHER: Gold embossing powder, Hexagon stencil, Glitter enamel dots The new vase is my new favorite in the collection plus I love the fun new florals that pair with it so well! How about that elegant new doily die layered over a Pattern Party circle from last month's release?! I'm trying to use some of my older embossing folders since I love to add texture to my cards. Adding a button is also a "blast from the past" which seemed like a great accent for an added pop of color. STAMPS: Thank You Florals, Vase Collection 7, Pattern Party. It seems I am needing far too many sympathy cards lately, so once again...I brought out this sentiment from Ink to Paper's Wild Fields set. I don't know about you, but I have loads of patterned paper and thought I'd use some up with this card. It's a busy week with planning for Easter weekend and getting cards in the mail today! This Lush Bloom stamp set is so simple to layer up so it fit the clean, easy style I was aiming for. I cut out 3 button dies from black cardstock and adhered them together and added thread. It's more mailing friendly than a real button! STAMPS: Lush Bloom, Wild Fields (Ink to Paper). PAPER: Classique: Pretty 6x6 pad by Authentique; White by Ink to Paper. INK: Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Autumn Rose, Aqua Mist, Mint Julep, Ocean Tides, True Black dye inks by Ink to Paper. DIES: Border Bling: Postage, Pierced Feature Frames, Lush Bloom (Ink to Paper); Blueprints 27 and Buttons Die-Namics by My Favorite Things. I'll be running errands today since tomorrow looks like lots more rain then colder (only up to 41) on Thursday. Enjoy your day! ~Wanda
Where do I even start tonight? There is so much to say about the new Papertrey Ink Holiday Photo Finishers. Have to collect my thoughts. OK...so here's the deal. I'm a Shutterfly girl. I get pre-printed photo cards with extra photos and messages printed inside (I believe they are called Storybook cards). It's been a bit of a no-brainer for me. Easy-piesy lemon squeezy...they are done without much hassle. But I've always felt just a wee bit guilty not making something homemade. I'm mean...come on...I'm the professional crafty type. Where's the love when I really need to show it? Reminds me of the cobbler's children going without shoes and all. This year, I'm going homemade. And that's because of this set of stamps and the dies. Oh...and the fabulous tri-fold card! I'm a bit wordy when it comes to catching everybody up to our yearly activities. And there is nothing I like better than getting a nice letter in the mail from loved ones and holiday time. The tri-fold lets me be wordy and crafty and just a wee bit clever because it is so darn easy. Let me show you. Here's the photo front of my card. I used Dawn's Candy Cane Christmas paper and stamped with this lovely sentiment. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these dies. So many uses. The embossed lines are so money. Just for a bit of crafty goodness--not much mind you, this has to be easy to make it multiples--felt holly leaves. The glittery center "berry" is from some Stickopatomus stickers I got at Michael's. Flip the card over and you have a sentiment from Inside/Out: Holiday. It fits inside the Mat Stack 1 Layerz. Additional holly serve as brackets. As a personal touch, I signed our name. For the first flip of the card, you get a photo of my favorite buddy and a little ditty about him. I created all of this on my computer (including the red label) and just printed it out on printer paper. When opened all the way, photos and info for the rest of us. A few holly just for color. All four "people panels" were printed on one sheet of paper. How easy would it be to print as many as you needed? Really, most of the work is done at once on these. Multiples are easy when you print and cut the majority of it and just add a few special paper crafting touches. For another project, I went with something non-holiday themed and used Flutterby Friend. Did I mention I love the Photo Finisher dies? Imagine the possibilities. There are so many sentiments that fit in them. This one is from Little Labels. A close up. There's the Mat Stack 1 shape. Which had me pulling out Mat Stack 1 Collection to reinforce the theme. Fits nicely. There's a bow from Maile's Bells & Boughs. Oh my good gravy. Those bows are on a lot of my projects this month. The perfect touch for somebody who doesn't use a lot of ribbon. I hope you are as excited as I am over this set this month. And are already thinking about your holiday cards. Start them now--avoid the stress and rush in December. And kick back with a mug of hot chocolate instead of pulling your hair out trying that done during the hustle and bustle of the holiday. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's projects. Down right giddy about it.
