Hi! A couple of weeks ago we were invited to a very special little boy's 6th Birthday party. He's right into superheroes (aren't most 6 year old boys?) and so the party had a superhero theme. Of course I had to make a card to suit the theme. After scouring the 'net for ideas I found this card by Caroline Bennie with the most perfectly cute Superman. The Lego paper was from my stash, and I'd stuck it down before I realised that a blue Superman on a blue background was probably not going to work too well. My solution was to make the moon for Superman to fly past. I used a Circles Collection Framelit to cut the circle and then stamped it lightly with the small splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge. I was trying give the effect of the craters on the moon. I then created a cityscape by cutting the Basic Black cardstock to replicate buildings and using my white gel pen to add in some lights in windows. I finished off the inside with a couple more scraps of Lego paper. The birthday boy loved his card I'm pleased to report. Oh, and thanks to my hubby Rob for creating the logo for the front of Superman's costume. He's a bit of a superhero nerd so I think he was the best person for the job. Bye for now, Tina

It's Thursday and that means Just in Case weekly blog post. I take a card from one of our current catalogues and either copy it exactly or change up the stamps or colours and make it my own. I find CASEing helps me if I'm in a creative funk. CASE = Copy and Share Everything. ... Read More about Just in Case – Mediterranean Moments
Do you ever have one of those Stampin' Up! stamp sets that has been waiting for you ... just begging to be used? And you never made time to ues it!? Yep, happens to me all the time!!! I FINALLY got out my beautiful Mediterranean Moments stamp set (inspired by fellow million dollar seller achiever demonstrator Susan Nygaard), and used my brand new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to color it!! It was so amazing to color.. I loved EVERY minute of my 'coloring therapy' :) I was inspired by a card on page 133 in the current catalog
Good Day Crafty Friends, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE The Mediterranean Moments stamp set, it was inspired by a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Million Sales Achiever - Susan Nygaard. The stunning set consists of four rubber scenery stamps depicting beautiful street scenes and is available in the 2017 Occasions catalogue. I couldn't wait to get this set and I wasn't disappointed! Plus the new Stampin' Up! Water Colour Pencils made it so easy to colour, I can see me needing a new pack soon as I can't stop using them. I masked the lady from the Beautiful You stamp set and then stamped over her with the largest stamp from Mediterranean Moments. Love the scooter parked out the front! The café scene is just adorable and not to mention makes a quick and easy card - die cut using circle framelits with a scalloped border die from the same set, a delicate white doily behind it, placed on a base of Sahara Sand cardstock put through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall TEIF. The scooter stamp looks amazing stamped and coloured in white craft ink - my favie so far. Two strips of black card stock were glued to the Sahara Sand cardstock and then I ran it through the Big Shot using the amazing Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder. This card is in an envelope as we speak and hopefully about to hit my lovely friends letterbox sometime soon. She and her Hubby are going on a three month trip to Europe for her sisters wedding. I love being able to make cards that are relevant to the events in my life and show the person receiving the card that I was thinking of them when I made it. Hope my cards inspire you to get into your craft space and create something you love for someone you love. Happy Crafting xx

My customers often ask for card ideas for the Males in their lives so tonight I decided to give it a try. As we make 6 cards in the class I wanted to keep it fairly simple, but of course it had to be eye-catching too. One of my favourite folders is the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing folder - gorgeous in its own right, but I wanted something different. We were also using the Guy Greetings stamp set with some of the other cards so I worked out how to get the vintage car image behind the trees. Here is the complete card. So how do you get the image behind the trees? It really is quite simple. First you swipe the folder with ink. I used Soft Suede and Night of Navy. Swipe across the folder so you get a random coverage and also get those gorgeous lines on the trees. Remember to swipe behind the side that has the "Sizzix" label on it (top Left corner) so you get the tree trunks as a positive (raised up) image. Just be careful not to put too much ink where you are planning to stamp. Also start with the lighter colour (Soft Suede) leaving clean spaces to add the Night of Navy ink. This is also swiped on randomly using the ink pad directly onto the embossing folder. The embossing folder is open with the fold join at the bottom of the photo. Next you will stamp the car images directly onto the same part of the embossing folder in the position you want them to be. I used Memento Jet Black for this. Be careful to stamp straight down and up or you may smudge the image. I found a better image was achieved by holding the stamp in position for a couple of seconds giving time for the ink to transfer to the embossing folder. Position the desired card size into the folder. Holding the folder firmly closed, you can check what your image will look like. Make your sandwich, use the Multipurpose Platform open to Tab 1 and pass through the Big Shot Voila! A really interesting image for you. It's always a bit serendipitous as to the outcome, but that is one of the joys of this technique. And yes the images print in mirror image so your cars will be heading a different direction. I wanted to highlight the cars a little more so used an Aqua Painter and the Night of Navy ink to colour sections of the car, and some Soft Suede on the ground. To add more definition to the image I sponged both Soft Suede and Night of Navy around the edges of the card before matting onto a Thick White cardstock base. I have so many ideas of how to use this technique now, and cannot wait to try them. It really is easy and quite quick to achieve great results. I've taught this in 2 classes now, and it works in a group 0f 8 quite comfortably! I hope you have enjoyed this very rushed blog post, and that it helps you to give the technique a try. Until Next Time Happy Crafting

Flowers are a traditional gift for many occasions, they are a beautiful gift but it often bothers me that they wither and die after a short while. At my last Stamp A Stack evening I decided to give the Flower Pot cards that I've seen on various blogs over the years a try, but I wanted to create some for special occasions. As I am an expectant grandmother (and very excited about it too) I seem to be focusing on baby things and hence one of the designs I came up with is quite suitable to give for new babies. The flowers are all constructed from die cut shapes using the Stampin' Up!® exclusive Blossom Party Originals Die. This is such a quick and easy method of creating the flowers as you just place 3 layers of different colour card on the die, make a sandwich with the two cutting mats, and wind it through the Big Shot. I have used 4 colours in the flowers on this project: So Saffron, Bashful Blue. Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink. The leaves are die cut with the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die ( Certainly Celery card) The detail shot shows how I've layered the different blooms. I glued these together with the 2-Way Glue Pen. I love that for fiddly sizes. Then the flower centres are popped up on a dimensional and topped with a Basic Pearl. The flowers are then arranged on the top of a slider that sits inside the flower pot. Dimensionals are used to lift the flowers a little off the slider so they can happily fit over the front of the flower pot. Stamp a greeting on the card and leave some room for your own message and you have a wonderful keepsake for new parents. I can just envisage it on a scrap page. Perhaps I'd better make one for myself so I can scrap it after my new grandchild arrives! I'll be back shortly with the other Flower Pot design. Until then Stay Crafty!

Hey! It's time for a new challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches and this month Patricia is our hostess and this week has another wonderful sketch to inspire us all. There is so much you can do with this sketch, it really leaves you some options with the large rectangle to fill but on the other hand it can be hard to keep it CAS with all that open space. Anyway, this is what I came up with... Unfortunately, I need to post out a Sympathy card and they are another type of card I have trouble making. However, I decided to reach for the swirly image from Originally Organic, selectively colouring it with a soft green and purple. I added some clear Wink of Stella for a subtle finish, some Stampin' Up! enamel dots and a sentiment is from Simply Said. Anyway, thats all from me, but be sure to check out all the Design Team inspiration HERE on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog and I hope to see you in the gallery :) Challenge End Time: 6:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time/11:00 p.m. London U.K. time Monday, March 28th, 2017 Hugs Supplies: Uniko Clear Stamps Flower Power #7 and Simply Said Ink: Stampin' Up! Old Olive and Pacific Point. VersaFine Onyx Black Card: Stampin' Up! Thick Whisper White and Rich Razzleberry Accessories: Stampin' Up! Stitched Framelit Dies, Enamel Dots and Foam Adhesive.

One of the very special opportunities I've been granted as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is the option to work towards a Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip. I truly love to travel so almost nothing gets me as excited as a trip with Stampin' Up! It's always a trip for two and of course, my guest of choice is my husband Steve. We've traveled the world with Stampin' Up! from Fiji and Thailand to the Mediterranean. The stamp set that I chose today to use with Watercolor Pencils is called Mediterranean Moments and sweet those moments were! It's fun to savor

I used the Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Moments stamp set to create my card to share with you today.
Today's post continues with the water colour theme, and this time I combined the beautiful Stampin' Up! stamp set Mediterranean Moments, Beautiful You, Timeless Textures and the Water Colour Pencils together. I wanted to keep this very simple and show my class how quickly you can make a card using the w/c pencils as your colouring agent. You will be able to tell that in order to place the girl in the middle of the scene, I used the masking technique while creating this card. I've kept the colouring to a minimum and only selected a few sections of the scene to colour in. I used Archival Black from Stampin' Up! to stamp the images and did some light applications of colour with the pencils. I blended them with an Aqua Painter, and afterwards spritzed the entire image with water. I love how the colour runs a little, and how the watercolour paper happily accepts the additional water. I thought the card was lacking a little in balance so added a texture stamp using Real Red classic ink at the bottom corner and the top of the opposite side. This stamp is one of the many versatile stamps from Timeless Textures, and is wonderful to add that finishing touch to a card. So if you haven't tried this easy method of watercolouring, order yourself some pencils, w/c paper and Archival ink and you will be ready to start. Happy Stamping to you all, I cannot finish this post without offering each of you a fabulous opportunity to join Stampin' Up! during Sale-A-Bration. You get all the benefits of being a member of the SU family plus during SAB you can choose 2 additional free stamp sets of your choice. Depending on your choice this can be well over $100 of stamps for free and that is in addition to all the heavily discounted items you choose for your Starter Kit. Do you like what you see and think you'd like to earn some extra income from stamping? If you are looking for a hobby, a part or full time job, working from home and at your own pace, AND you love craft, then you should consider doing what I do. It is fun and rewarding. Christmas is always a good time to reflect on your blessings and to be thankful for family and friends. This is also a difficult time for people who have either lost loved ones or who have strained or estranged relationships. Remember that you are loved. That is what we are celebrating after all. God sent his son Jesus to be born into this world so that he would grow up and save us from our sins! I do love the Christmas season. Getting together with family and friends that you don't see often is especially wonderful. Gathering to share food

Welcome to 12 Weeks of Sale-A-Bration here at Song of My Heart! We are throwing our own party alongside Stampin' Up's biggest sale of the year. One of the fun things we're doing is a weekly color challenge, with PRIZES! What's a CASE? Copy and Share Everything! It's an old papercrafter's term that's used to denote when you did not come up with the project or idea (or in our case color combo) entirely by yourself. There's no shame in CASE'ing--in fact, it's the best way to learn! Eventually you'll find yourself branching out, experimenting, and coming up with ideas...

Global Design Project 065 | Colour Challenge Yay there's another colour challenge over at Global Design Project and that means you get the opportunity to be a guest designer if you win! How exciting would that be ... hanging out with some of my favourite Stampin' Up!® friends! This stamp set (Mediterranean Moments) has four lovely images and when I look at them I automatically feel relaxed and warm! It's supposed to be summer here in New Zealand but it definitely doesn't feel like it! I also used the Happy Retirement stamp from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set - this is a must have set as it has 24 sentiments covering every occasion. The spotted crumb cake and whisper white background paper is from the new Party Animal DSP available from 4 January 2017! I coloured my image in using the ink pads and a blender pen and as I wanted my little red scooter to stand out I coated it in Fine-Tip Glue to give it a glossy finish. Colouring in is very relaxing and of course on-trend now! I hope you enjoy your weekend and manage a little crafting -
