Hello, hello, hello! Happy Friday! Welcome and thank you for joining me on my blog today. I've just had a very well deserved and much needed Christmas Break with my family and some time away camping in our caravan. Lots of fun in the sun, stand up paddle boarding, swimming in the lake, swimming at the beach, boating, knee-boarding, 4WD, reading a few books and lots of all-round summer fun! Was so good to be away in the great outdoors of Australia. Gosh I love summer! Back to reality now. Over at Just Add Ink, to kick off the first challenge for the year we are commencing 2024 with a blog hop to go with the new challenge. Our theme for this hop and the challenge is Just Add In #685 | Just Add Flowers. This is such a fabulous theme to kick start the Just Add Ink year! Every one loves flowers, well nearly everyone. I'm a bit of a sucker for a floral stamp and the new Enduring Beauty Bundle with coordinating masks in the Stampin' Up! 2024 Jan - April Mini Catalogue caught my attention at first glance. Super pretty right? I've used the stamp and masks on Crumb Cake cardstock today for a different look. I do love colouring images on Crumb Cake cardstock as I love how the colours of the ink look different as opposed to using Basic White cardstock. All three cards that I've made for you today are all the same except for the colour combinations to colour the flowers. What's your favourite? I do love them all, of course, but the purple one is really standing out to me as my favourite. Colours used Flowers - Bubble Bath, Flirty Flamingo and Berry Burst Leaves - Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Colours used Flowers - Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight Leaves - Old Olive and Mossy Meadow Colours Used Flowers - Fresh Fresia and Highland Heather Leaves - Old Olive and Mossy Meadow To create the cards I stamped the floral image on with Versamark ink and then used Black embossing powder for the image outline. Then over the floral image I layered over the Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks to layer on the colour using Blending Brushes. Each mask has detailed floral designs that add depth and colour to your paper crafting projects. Use one mask alone to add a subtle accent. Or you can layer them to create a rich floral image of your own design. The masks definitely make colouring an image so quick and easy thats for sure. I used three colours on the 'pink' card only due to the fact that I thought the Bubble Bath was too light against the Berry Burst so I went in again over the Bubble Bath with Flirty Flamingo to achieve a better contrast. All cards were finished off with a drawn border, Crumb Cake Splatters, Linen Thread, a Happy Birthday sentiment and some embellishments. What colours do you think would work together when using the Enduring Beauty masks? Next up on the blog hop is fabulous Nikki Spencer with her amazing creation. Hello and welcome! And thanks for stopping by! There's a new Colour INKspiration Challenge just kicked off over on Facebook and this Challenge has us using an almost complimentary colour palette with a neutral thrown in for good measure. Our inspiration photo was chosen by myself and I can't wait to go and see what everyone has created. Picture credit - https://colorbyk.com/trastevere-rome-neighborhood-review/ For my card, I've combined the gorgeous Enduring Beauty Stamp Set, Dies and Masks with the Perennial Postage Dies. The large floral image was stamped in Pebbled Path, and using the Masks, the image was coloured using Peach Pie and Garden Green inks. Taking the second to largest die from Perennial Postage, the image was die-cut and matted onto Pebbled Path and Peach Pie card stock allowing a small border on all four sides. Linen Thread was wrapped around twice and tied into a bow with a sentiment attached using Foam Adhesive Strips. A card base was created using Pebbled Path card stock with a piece of Designer Paper from Nature's Sweetness Specialty Paper trimmed to allow a 1/8" border on all sides. The card topper was then adhered to the card front. Three Iridescent Gold Foil Gems were added to complete the front. For the inside, I trimmed a piece of Basic White card stock and stamped the large floral image in the bottom right corner and glued this in. For a detailed look at how this card was created, a video tutorial can be viewed HERE: https://youtu.be/h9UpkXIN7fw Supplies: Stamp Set: Enduring Beauty Masks: Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks Dies: Enduring Beauty, Perennial Postage Paper: Nature's Sweetness Specialty Papers Cardstock: Pebbled Path, Peach Pie, Basic White Ink: Pebbled Path, Peach Pie, Garden Green Embellishments/Trim: Iridescent Foil Gems, Linen Thread Tools: Paper Trimmer, Blending Brushes, Stampin'Cut & Emboss Machine Adhesives: Tombow Liquid Glue, Foam Adhesive Sheets Feel INKspired to join the challenge? We'd love to see what you create with these gorgeous colours! Just a reminder to use ALL the Challenge colours unless stated. If you don’t have the colours in our palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin’ Up! substitute – Pumpkin Pie instead of Peach Pie for example. We also allow Ivory, Bronze and Natural Tones in the Stampin' Blends and Neutrals such as Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Basic Beige and Metallics. Today I have 4 card layouts to share which feature the Layers of Beauty bundle and a simple way to decorate the inside of the 4 cards.
This was a bit of a stretch for me.... USUALLY, when I use a fancier type image like these roses from the Layers of Beauty mask bundle, I use a more fancy greeting or sentiment. But this time I went outside my comfort zone and used a more bold / graphic Oh Happy Day greeting from the Kindest Expressions stamp set. What do you think? I also went a little bolder with the background and used a printed mat layer from the 2024 2026 In Color 6x6 DSP stack. NOTE: Layers of Beauty Bundle is an EXTRA 10% off

Now if you've been following my blog posts this week, you'll have seen the Layers of Beauty bundle on 3 previous cards. They all used the largest image of the set, along with some die cutting and even a little masking. Today is different! Using only the masks with inks and Blending Brushes, I created this: L.O.V.E.! Such realistic flowers! I feel like an artist...but all I did was carefully line up the masks (5 of them in all) and use Blending Brushes with inks to create this beautiful panel! Look at the detail and the depth of color! Gorgeous! I started with Lemon Lolly and the #1 mask, which colors the light part of the flowers. Then, with Mask #2, I added some Daffodil Delight ink. And for the smallest, darkest details, I used Crushed Curry. The leaves were done in Granny Apple Green with Garden Green details. I mounted the main panel on Garden Green cardstock, then onto a Thick Basic White base with triangles of Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight to pull out the colors. Feel like an artist! Grab the Layers of Beauty bundle on May 1st and and start your art journey!
