Earlier this year Brandy and I attended Embellish It's Mesa, AZ Play All Day event. It was so much fun, essentially two full days of nothing but time to chat, craft and enjoy each other's company. You can read about our card swaps for Andie and Brandy that we participated in. During the Play All Day, Brandy used the Spellbinders March 2019 Card Kit and put together a whole bunch of cards. You can find them here. In addition, she used the dies in the kit to die cut a massive amount of flowers and cacti for use in future card making. Of course, life does have a way of getting ahead of you, but Brandy followed through and finished up a set of cards using those die cuts. This is the result of that card making endeavor and I'm tickled to be able to share them with you. We've had a mild spring in Arizona and so some cacti are still blooming and we had a beautiful bloom earlier with more color and green than is typical since it was a mile spring. I am delighted with these cards and I think Brandy is too. Andie for

Hello Spellbinders’ fans! Are you ready for another dose of inspiration featuring our January 2019 You’re My Type Card Kit of the Month? We’re back with our new monthly series called “Using Just Stamps & Dies”. Just a reminder, these posts feature quick and simple cardmaking tutorials using just the die set and/or stamp set from our Card Kits of the Month. Today we have a special treat for you – a few card making ideas & video tutorial all made using a typewriter die from our January Card Kit of the Month. We also have additional inspiration (gorgeous cards!) from our guest designers at the end of this post! VIDEO TUTORIAL Watch video tutorial below or on Youtube to learn how to make these projects: Love. Hugs. Kisses Card To create this card die-cut typewriter out of black cardstock and foam mount onto a gray mat. Next, die-cut a white rectangle and stamp Love Hugs Kisses using Cave Black ink. You can also purchase this stamp set separately as a part of our Card club Kit Extras. The die is not available separately and is only sold as a part of the January Card Kit of the Month. I die-cut a gold glitter cardstock border using XOXO die. I also kept the positive “x” die cuts and used them to make a faux cross stitch border in the top section of my card. To create a background I dry embossed white cardstock panel for my card using Love Stripe embossing folder. I also cut another strip of pink cardstock to layer over the white one and added a piece of patterned paper from my stash over it. Finally, I foam mounted my typewriter on top and added a few die cut gold glitter hearts. MWAH Card For my next card idea I used patterned paper to die-cut my typewriter from. Don’t limit yourself just to colored cardstock – use the pretty pattern papers for die cutting as well! I die-cut the word LOVE in the piece of paper coming out from the typewriter and also added a bunch of delicate glitter flowers and leaves. For my background I dry embossed a beautiful hearts background using I Heart embossing folder and simply foam mounted the typewriter on top. I added a strip of gold glitter paper to coordinate with some of leafy die cuts I have embellishing my typewriter. Notice how I decorated the center of the typewriter with a little heart – that’s where the make of the tool is usually mentioned so I felt it was a good spot to add a white glitter heart to dress this card up. Finally, I added a little MWAH spelled out using some old alphabet stickers from my stash. I’ll Be Yours & You’ll Be Mine Card For my card idea #3 I decided to used little journaling cards you’d find in 6×6″ paper pads with the typewriter instead of a die cut message. I die cut cut a rectangle using the die included with the typewriter, but also added that little journaling card. For the background of this card I dry embossed a piece of patterned paper using same I Heart embossing folder to show you a different use – you don’t always have to dry emboss white or colored crardstock, patterned paper can be dry embossed as well! For my typewriter I added some foam adhesive from the back of the typewriter to secure some of the die cut keys so they wont fall out. I wanted to keep some inlayed in my typewriter and not punch all of them out this time. I added gold glitter paper backing to my typewriter, placed it at the bottom of my panel and added several gold glitter die cut leafy branches coming from the typewriter to the top of my card. I loosely adhered them in place, and that finished my card! Dreams Come True Card For this card I decided to do some background die cut using the word dies in this kit. There are 3 dies that read XOXO, LOVE and U+ME, they are all intended to go with the typewriter, to be die cut in that letter that fits inside the typewriter, but you can use them on their own like I did for a border on my 1st card or like I did here to die-cut a background. I layered a piece of light pink pattered paper under the die cuts to have a bit of pink show through. For the typewriter I used patterned paper and also added two journaling cards from 6×6 paper pad from my stash – they are so cute and went together with the typeweitter perfectly. I layered a gold glitter die cut under the blue one and offset it slightly. I trimmed my typewriter to create a partial one as I wanted to have it positioned off to the side of the card. I foam mounted the typewriter in place, I added some beautiful florals and leaves as well as a letter M in the center where the branding goes and I adhered this panel onto an A2 white side folding card base. Conclusion I had a blast making these cards with the Typewriter die from the You’re My Type January 2019 Card Kit. This die is only available as a part of the kit which is a membership subscription program. Current members get first dibs on the monthly designs, become a member so you don’t miss out! Hello there crafty friends, Today I'm sharing projects I've made with the gorgeous Spellbinders April Card Kit of the Month! As I've mentioned before, Spellbinders have several monthly kits, which are really great! You can subscribe to: Small Die of the Month Large Die of the Month Card Kit of the Month Stamp of the Month Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month These are all a great value, have a look! You can find all necessary information about these kits here. Here, a few images of what you get: Apart from these, you also get envelopes, card bases, pop dots, double sided adhesive, various color card stock, some dies to create an adorable dress (check my cards below!), silver sequins. It's really jam packed! As for my cards. I've loved working with this kit! It was like playing dress up with my dolls when I was a kid haha! I'm in love with the pretty dress you can make with the dies included in this kit. It reminds me of the super pretty, feminine dresses in the 50ies - so that's the design I was going for. I created several layers for the skirt, even some tulle! Love! Some of the patterned papers in the 6x6 paper pad are silver foiled and there's also a sheet of silver paper in the kit. These add a fab touch to your projects! The bow and hanger dies are also a part of the kit! The cuteness! For the ovals I used the Nestabilities Fancy Edged Ovals etched dies. These are truly my most used dies. There's a beautiful stamp set included in the kit also. You can create 3 different ballerinas with it (as in, 3 different skirts) as shown below. Here I embossed their skirts with WOW! Embossing Powder in Soft Mango. On these simple cards I only used patterned papers and die cut embellishments. You can put these cards together very quickly! Last but not least another simple card duo where I kept the colors to a minimum. I love love love this green stripe paper and there are some die cuts in this color too so I simply paired them up. The sage green thread from Fun Stampers Journey fits this paper perfectly! I hope you've found some inspiration here today! Should you have any questions about what I used or how I made something please leave a comment below! Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful day! X
Have you ever wished you could just buy a card kit that included everything you needed? Spellbinders to the rescue. They have a Card Kit of the Month that includes EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING you need to make lots of amazing cards. All of my cards were made with the Spellbinders October Card Kit of the Month. The kit includes EVERYTHING you see including the card bases and envelopes. The kit even has adhesive foam squares and double sided tape. You'll love the 6" pad of beautiful pattern papers and printed die cut images. The die cuts even have copper metallic accents on them so there's lots of shine. (Yes the sequins were in the kit too!) This kit also included 3x4 journaling cards and die cut tags. The wood buttons and word stickers used as embellishments were also included in the kit. I had lots of fun arranging the die cut images and pretty papers. The florals are so pretty and the kit has LOTS of them. Everything is color coordinated so you know it's going to all go together beautifully. This kit was so inclusive that I think it would be great to take on a vacation or even a scrap meet. The only things I used that were not included were scissors and a paper trimmer. This card kit is by Spellbinders and they're most known for their die cuts. This kit included all the die cuts to assemble this cute little house - roof, door, gate, windows all included. Even the card stock that I used to cut the dies with was in the kit. The kit also included a "celebrate" word die (see it on the very first photo) and two small feather dies that I used as foliage with the florals. This kit had so much in it that I didn't even use it all. Like what? A stamp set, silver twine, sentiment stickers and so much more! The Spellbinders October Card Kit of the Month will make your crafty room a happy place with all sorts of treats inside! I just love it! All cards finished size 4.25 x 5.5" Created with Spellbinders October Kit of The Month Thanks for your support! If you like my projects and shop at Spellbinders I hope you'll use my affiliate links.
