Finally got a chance to play with the Sheltering Tree stamp set. This was one of my favorites from the Occasions Catalog and the first stamp set I received was defective so had to wait for a replacement. These are the only cards I have made so far with this set and my first attempt. The tree is stamped with black stazon. The red glimmer paper heart was made using the heart in the Owl Builder punch. I used Chocolate Chip for this tree trunk. I think it is too dark. Tried Baked Brown Sugar on the following two and like it much better. I look forward to playing with this set more! Happy Stampin'- DeAnn P.S. Just had to share another quilt: This is a shop sample I made for a local quilt shop that I work part time at. Just saw it today quilted and it is so cute. The fabric is Somerset by Fig Tree & Co. for Moda. Thanks for looking!

So Long Sheltering Tree….
Hello, Today I am going to share with you the wet wipe technique (also known as the baby wipe technique). It is easy to do and adds another technique to your list of accomplishments! I think this technique is a good one to learn because on certain stamps it can save a LOT of time. Last year I used it on a Christmas wreath stamp. Once you have the wet wipe inked up it is ready to do a bunch of cards before you need to reink it, so you can stamp a stack quickly. Here's how: Choose three or four reinkers. Here I am doing a fall card so I chose Delightful Dijon, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Pear Pizzazz. Put the wet wipe on a plate and dot the wet wipe with reinkers randomly until you have an area inked that is the size of the stamp you will be using. Ink up your stamp with the ink that is on the wet wipe. For this stamp I inked it and stamped it three times varying the angle of the stamp slightly each time. Now, create your card! The stamp set that I used for this card was Sheltering Tree. I also used the pumpkin thinlit that came with Square Pillow Box thinlits die set. Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day, Trude
Paper Crafting and Card Making
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I've been lazy all morning although I have managed to make five Christmas cards. I just chose not to do any chores around the house. My husband played golf today, so I thought that I should do what I love to do as well. I want to share this card with you created with the Sheltering Tree (137163) stamp set. I love this set and have found it very versatile. I think I have made cards for Valentine's Day, Christmas and Thanksgiving cards with it. It really is a must have to add to your collection. I stamped the tree first in Early Espresso then used sponge daubers to add Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz ink on the branches of leaves then used the leaves image all over by using Rich Razzleberry and Cherry Cobbler ink pads. It's hard to see on the photo but I added drops of glaze or glossy accents randomly on the leaves just all over to add another dimension to the image. It actually turned out really nice. Well, that's all for today, folks. I'm going to get ready to go to my mom's for our Thanksgiving dinner. Have fun and be safe shopping tomorrow!
I was finally able to play with the stamp set Sheltering Tree and I’m very happy with how my card turned out. Every time I look at it on my desk, it makes me smile. I think it’s all of the pretty colors – I am definitely ready for Spring! Tip: When you are using […]

I have been enjoying using my custom Spectrum pad, that I inked with Stampin' Up! ink refills (see this post). Today I am sharing a different way to use your rainbow pad... I used 'direct to paper' technique with my watercolor paper, spritzed it, added more ink with my refills and blended with the Aqua Painter! I stamped images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set on top and I love it! See step by step 'Direct to Paper' photos below... drag the rainbow pad across your paper, pressing as you go spritz with water add more ink or more
